1 Don't buy from Amazon.com
I bought this from Amazon.com and got a USED/RETURNED unit. There were scrteched all over the screen and everything showed signs of used and wear. returned it the next day and guess what? THEY CHARGED ME FOR SHIPPING.

About the TV, the reception was okey. You need to walk around to find a spot for the best receptions.

BOTTOM LINE, DON'T BUY THIS FROM AMAZON.COM!
2 Perfect item for intended purpose!!!
I received this item about two weeks ago, and thus far am completely satisfied, relative to the purpose for which I bought it.
This cool looking device is in my kitchen, and it's purpose is to "monitor" whatever happens to be on the big family tv. The antenna input makes this quite simple, and although I'm not a big fan of "bar tuning" technology, since the tuner starts at channel 2 and only needs to go to 3 to pick up the signal, it's perfect in this capacity.
Oh, and even in my sunny kitchen, the picture looks GREAT!!! Better even than the color CRT tv that used to occupy this space, that died after 1.5 years of constant use... Only time will tell the longevity of this new unit, but right now it's THE BOMB!!!
3 wonderful little tv
because we go boating and camping alot,i needed a portable tv that was conveinent and easy to carry. this little tv worked out great.i tried 2 other portable small tv's ,before i found this little gem.i am very satisified with the way it plays, great picture, grandkids loved it,i'm so glad i bought it,
4 Very disappointed
With all the great reviews for this product, I have to wonder if the manufacturer has a quality assurance problem. My unit has very poor reception and I live in an urban area, and the color could be better. Also, I got less than an hour on batteries. It appears people either get a unit that works great or works like a piece of junk. Well, I have another older portable TV and it gets great reception so I know its not signal strength. This product works so poorly, that essentially I will have to shelve it and spend money on a different product.
5 Not Worth It!
This TV has exceptionally poor color. There are not any adjustment knobs to increase color and correct tint. All you can adjust is brightness.

The color is washed out looking and flesh tones look yellowish to green.

Although this TV has a jazzy style and comes with electric and car adapters, the quality of the picture simply isn't acceptable.
6 The perfect hurricane (and Xbox) companion
It's amazing what you find out when you don't have power for a while. After Hurricane Charley tore through Orlando, we were left without electrical creature comforts for five long days. One of the worst things was not being able to see local TV radar to know what the storm was doing. But hey, this was a once-in-a-lifetime event, right?

Well hello, Frances!

After learning another hurricane was planning to head in our direction a few weeks later, I decided to find a battery-powered television to help us get through the ordeal. The 5507 had the biggest screen I could find, along with all the accessories I wanted with a nice price to match. It was shipped overnight and arrived one day before Frances... talk about cutting it close.

I couldn't have been more pleased with my choice. The image is crisp and clear, and the reception is just what you would expect when you're dealing with airborne signals. Some channels will come in fine, others barely if at all. But when your cable is out, you take what you can get. Battery life is about as advertised, roughly two hours on a set of 8 AAs (and nobody is buying up AAs for emergencies, so they're easy to find). You can go with a smaller TV that uses less, but you won't have much fun straining to see weather maps on a 2.8" screen. The 5507's full 5" display is perfect for extended viewing. You also get house and car power adapters, for those times when you have power.

Why only four stars? It's a great little set, but not perfect. Why can't someone build a portable TV that dials in channels like a real set? This one uses the tried and true (and very annoying) "vertical line searching" method. And it doesn't remember any settings (except volume), so you'll be back to starting at the first channel after you turn it off.

Since Frances hit, I've used it as a monitor for Xbox gaming - great for gamenights on the go. And we were back to TV viewing with the arrival of Jeanne this past weekend. After watching it through two hurricanes, I can safely say you won't go wrong picking up this little bugger... it'll be your best friend when you really need it.
7 A 'must have' storm essential
I really missed the weather updates during Hurricane Charley (although I did have a wonderful NOAA weather radio!) Testing this TV before Frances hits, it is working fantastically!!! It runs on 8 AA batteries, and you can plug in a VCR or DVD if you want. I've added an external antenna and it ROCKS! I'll let you know how it does during the storm and afterwards!
8 Could use a couple of improvements
This little TV is basicly a good product except for a couple of things that could be improved. First, if you look straight at the screen, the picture is too light or washed out. If you tip it up some and look at an angle the picture is much better. So you have to adjust the viewing angle for a good picture. You get a good picture at only just the right angle. Second, this TV should have memory for the channels. You have to scan the whole band (from Ch. 2-13) to find your channel each time that you turn the TV on.
9 unremarkable tv
I have been looking for a wireless tv forever due to frequent power outages where we live. I had high hopes for this one based on reviews. You cannot put it on the channel you want, it operates on its own, scanning until it hits on a station which is very frustrating. the battery compartment falls off and operates very poorly on battery. It has minimal reception and picture when it is plugged into an outlet.
I would never order another product from this company and am returning the tv.
10 Late Night with a 5" LCD TV
I looked everywhere for a small TV to put on my night stand. My wife has to get up early in the morning and I don't have to be at work until 10 am, so I usually stay up late and watch "Letterman". I wanted a small, but good quality LCD TV to put beside me with earphone and video/audio input connection so I could hook up my VCR/TV Tuner directly to the little LCD TV. It worked perfect. Sound quality is very good (**** stars), picture quality is great for a small LCD TV (**** stars), and I can use the remote control to my VCR/TV Tuner to turn the channels and monitor the source from the TV tuner that is built in to the VCR. I purchased mine at Kmart for around $109.00 on sale. I wish I had bought 2 of them. A GREAT LITTLE TV.
11 Cool Little TV!
This is one cool little TV. It comes with everything you need to use it... AC adapter, 12V dc adapter, and battery pack. Very flexible... use at home or take it anywhere. Since it has a built in tuner it easily works by itself and has easy access for input of a vcr, dvd, whatever. At home, I use mine in conjunction with a UHF transmitter from www.camera-supply.com... the TV is in a bathroom and it receives the signal from my main TV. Then, when I need it portable, I just unplug it and take it to use in my motorhome.
12 Poor reception
I had high hopes for this little TV after reading all the great reviews. The reception is horrible even though my old and very cheap b/w TV works great in the same location.
13 nice little LCD TV
I've had this TV for almost a year. Shopping around, it's hard to find a similar sized, nice LCD TV for the price. Pros: surpisingly nice video, good colors, light weight and small size, good/functinoal stand. The cons: not cable ready and it does not remember the last station when powered off/on. I bought an antenna / cable adapter (even tho it's not cable ready), and it does display a few cable stations. The tuner works well from the telescoping antenna.
14 Great little TV!
This little guy has a super picture. I use it camping hooked up to a boat battery. It uses only 8.5 watts of power so will run a long, long time on one charge. The speakers kind of stink but I connect a set of battery powered amplified speakers and it sounds great. P.S. as far as connecting a coax cable, you can purchase a mini-phone jack to coax adapter at Radio Shack.
15 Finally, I get to sleep!
This little TV is a blessing. My husband likes to stay up later than I do to watch tv. We like to go to bed at the same time, so you can imagine the problem this has created for us...I hate the light and the noise from the tv. He keeps this little on next to our bed with headphones and stays up as long as he wants and I am none the wiser. The screen is just big enough, but not too big and being that we live in South Florida, it is great to have for hurricane season.
16 Nice while it lasted
Mine died in less than 1 year--no audio!

It was great while it lasted although lack of cable jack was a drawback.

17 They forgot the cable connection
The product seems fine, but on careful inspection I was surprised to find that there was no way to take a signal off of cable.
18 DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO USE
THE ITEM WAS RECEIVED IN GOOD TIME BUT IT WAS DEFECTIVE. THE AUDIO VIDEO INPUTS WERE BEAUTIFUL OFF MY VCR AND DVD BUT THE TUNER WOULD NOT TUNE ANY LOW VHF CHANNELS. I HAVE TWO OTHER HANDHELDS AND BOTH WORK FINE ON VHF AND UHF BUT SIDE BY SIDE THIS WOULD NOT TUNE VHF. I RETURNED IT AND WAS TOLD COULD NOT GET A REPLACEMENT AS IT WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM THE SUPPLIER SO AM AWAITING MY REFUND !!!
19 Good picture if you get a good one.
I purchased this from someone on www.amazon.com and I purchased one of them from a local electronics store. The one I bought on www.amazon.com has a perfect picture but, the one I bought from electronics store (it was bought new) had a picture were everything had a red tint to it. From the reviews I had read before I purchased tv, some people said it had a good picture and some said it didn't. Apparently some of the screens have something wrong with them from the factory and some don't. So, the question is do you think you are lucky enough to get one of the good ones?
20 Great little Tv for the price
I bought this cute little Tv to take on road trips and for entertainment while I'm in the bathtub. The screen is small, but adequate. If you're going on a long road trip it's great to watch movies on or even hook up your PS2.
21 Yuk
Very poor picture quality! Save your money!
22 problems
is a big problem that I can^t buy this very good product in my country mexico, perhaps any day it`s will be, a reality.
23 I needed a TV at work to watch Dr Phil's show
This is an amazing product. It is lightweight, has a good picture and the color and reception is very good. I had shopped at [local stores] and could not find a color tv that used current and also ran on batteries. It also can be used in the car since it comes with adapter for cigarette lighter, it can be used with DVD player, VCR and Sony Playstation. It is also a standby for an emergency or power outage. I like it so much, I would like to have another one for home since I am using it at work now to tune in to Dr Phil's talk show for now.
24 Great 5 inch color tv
I love this little tv,it's very flat only 2 inches wide and lightweight, the LCD screen is very clear and gets good reception.Looks great and people can't believe the great price. The only thing I would change would be the channel changer, you have to repeatitly push button to change channels
25 Outstanding Portable
This portable has excellent picture quality and very good reception. The LCD screen makes it much more compact than other 5" color TV's. I carry mine in an old Zip drive tote bag - including all its accessaries. The low power consumption of the LCD is also why it uses smaller batteries (8 AA's) than other TV's. It's still small & light even with the battery pack attatched, and cheaper to operate on batteries, too. It will also run on AC or a car's 12v lighter. You can connect an external antenna or a cable box, or A/V cables to use it as a monitor. This is the best 5" color TV I've used, and I've had several. In my opinion, picture tube based 5" color TV's just became obsolete.
Although this TV doesn't have a cable ready tuner, I've never seen a 5" TV that does.
26 Excellent, for portable TV's this is the choice
It's very nice and you really can use it as a portable TV anywhere because its 3 power supply options. It's a monitor for your video game or just a TV, with good image and good tuning system. Maybe its sound is not that good but you can still use it with multimedia speakers or with stereo earphones and now you have great sound. It really looks good in my car. I definitely recomend it.
27 Very cool TV, but only 24 channels.
The TV is very compact, attractive and able to be connected to many peripheral devices. It can also be used in a car. If you're buying it to attach to a Playstation or other game, you will probably be quite pleased. The screen quality is good as is the reception. The flaw is that, although you can hook it to cable, you can only get channels up to 24. For that reason, we returned ours, since we wanted it to see some higher channels.
