1 Great wireless home router
A few months back my aging Siemens speedstream router was starting to die. The speedstream used the electrical circuits in the home to route the Internet signal; revolutionary at the time but it never caught on and was surpassed by wireless technologies. The speedstream is no longer made. So, I was forced to update to wireless.
I live near downtown Chicago in a condominium so there is the potential for lots of interference with wireless transmission. Still, my ISP is wireless and I had little problem with that connection. I tried several brands of wireless routers includinb linksys and D-link. The Linksys router gave me only a middling signal (the router is physically located in one of my bedrooms while the PC is located across my condo in the second bedroom, probably about 100 feet away and separated by several walls). The D-link router died after less than a month and even a firmware install could not bring it back to life. The Belkin router was priced well and so I gave it a try. I could not be happier. It has performed almost flawlessly for the past 3 months. Set up was simple, a call to tech support asking a few questions was answered promptly and courteously, and this router is doing what it should do without me giving it much thought anymore. A very good buy and good performer.
2 Excellent Product
Purchased it after reading its reviews. This product works very well in both, encrypted and unencrypted mode. The MAC address filtering works fine. The hard-wired connections work well. Tested with DLINK wireless card. Wireless connection tested with computers distributed into different rooms. All connections work very well. So far, best wireless router I worked with. Did not run into any of its software/firmware bugs.
3 Same chipset as more expensive Apple & Linksys
This is a sweet little home router. It uses the same chipset (the "guts") as the more expensive Linksys and Apple routers. Make sure and look for rebates which have lowered the net cost to as little as $10 delivered!
4 One of the best G router
This is one of the best G band router. Its installation CD (with software directly running from CD helping you setup the router), printout manuals, online help (in the firmware), the connection speed, the strength of signal, the relibility, the functions..etc are all much better than the other 6 routers I have been experienced. There are settings/links at its web-based configuration allow you easily to change the router to an Access Point, Bridge of AP, or even check if there is new fireware available. The AC adapter is small and the device is running cool.
