In CCNA Exam Notes: Cisco Certified Network Associate, respected expert Todd Lammle provides more than a mere exam preparation guide for those preparing for the CCNA test (exam 640-407). This book represents a valuable resource for those on the job with internetworking equipment long after they earn their certifications. Lammle sticks close to Cisco's published exam objectives and wastes no space in this compact volume.

Each chapter begins with a list of subjects and skills, with page references for each. The author treats each exam element with clear, easy-to-follow text and numerous conceptual diagrams, pausing every few pages to present some multiple-choice questions (though answers, with brief commentaries, appear right below the questions, so fair self-testing is somewhat hard). Lammle also makes frequent use of definition lists and sample output from routers running IOS. --David Wall

Topics covered: The seven-layer Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) network model; popular wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) protocols; Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS) and the fundamentals of routing, switching, and network security; WAN protocols: frame relay, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), High-Level Data-Link Control (HDLC), and Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP); LAN protocols: Internet Protocol (IP), IPX, and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP); routing algorithms include Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP).

1 Good but...
If you have purchased Sybex Study Guide, don't spend too much money for CCNA exam. This book is good but you don't need this one beside Sbex Study Guide. Use Test King and also Boson Router Simulator with Lammle's Study Guide, this set will be enough to pass the exam.
Good luck all of you...

2 Meets its objectives exceedingly well.
This is an excellent prepatory source for the Cisco CCNA exam, and easily covers the vast majority of topics that are addressed on the exam. Like the other Sybex offering, as you might the book falls very short of being a useful guide to configuring Cisco routers in the real world, so don't study this book, pass the test, and assume you're a Cisco master! However, For those already reasonably knowledgeable abotu the fundamentals of networking, this book alone should be plenty sufficient to pass the exam.
3 An Incredibly Pogniant Book
The Sybex CCNA 2.0 Study Guide written by Lammle is a gem to be sure, but it contains entirely too much content in relation to what is on the test. I highly recommend reading the whole study guide, BUT, whatever you choose to do, buy the Sybex CCNA Exam Notes and drink in every word. This 300 pp. paperback book contains the nuggets of knowledge that the Cisco exam will question you upon. So, to summarize, buy the Sybex CCNA 2.0 Study Guide and compliment it with the Sybex CCNA Exam Notes! Don't forget to get some good router time in there too. I spent maybe 30 hours on a router. Doing these things, I scored a 913/1000 without breaking a sweat!
4 Great prep book for CCNA exam!
I just passed CCNA on 11/5. This book provides a great guide to study from. If you know your basic OSI stuff and basic router configuration already this book will help you review material that you must know to pass the exam. I would also recommend the practice exam CD from Test Out!. The Test Out! exams are much more difficult than the real exam, so you can test with confidence if you have scored at least 85% on Test Out!. Good luck!
5 A Really Great Supplement to the CCNA Study Guide by Lammle
I used the CCNA Exam Notes, by Lammle and Sean Odom, I found the explainations the exam notes book filled in the gaps left by the Study Guide. Thanks SEAN! I found the wording of the explainations worked better for me in this book than the highly acclaimed study guide by Lammle. I also used the CCNA Virtual Lab by Lammle. I would definetly recommend supplementing your preparation by using this book in addition to the Study guide and the Virtual trainer also by Sybex. I passed today with a good score. Hope this helps.

Aslam Mohammed, CCNA, MCP, A+, CIW-Associate, I-Net+, Network+

6 Excellent Review
Passed with 978/1000. BUT this is not enough to pass alone. I recommend Todd's study guide in addition. A router sim is a necessity also. Good luck all!!
7 An excellent guide for CCNA
I definetly recommend this book for anybody going for CCNA. Do not forget to complement this with Boson test questions!
8 Book was excellent final prep. right before test.
With the large number of preparation materials out there, it's nice to have a "final" prep resource. This book does that job well, though it doesn't quite nail the mark on the current 2.0 testing. Use this guide as a final review to make sure you've got your bases covered well. Do not expect this guide to help you get over 900 on the 2.0 test without some experience or other study. Like I said, it's excellent review material but certainly not exhaustive enough to fully cover the CCNA 2.0 test.
9 Very Good Book
I have read this book to preparatation CCNA 2.0 EXAM, and this book are covered all CCNA EXAM I get score 881, and I would like to say thank for todd lammle,
10 Best review for the $$
This book has the best information for the CCNA exam out there. I found that the information review and some of the techniques (ip addressing within subnets) are outstanding.

The one assumption that this book makes, is that you have either done alot of router-sim or have hands-on experience. But it is an excellent review nonetheless.

Highly recommended to study right before the exam, work the problems and go through the review points, and you'll feel comfortable!

11 No Cisco experience and tested 930!
In preparation for taking the CCNA exam, I procurred 4 different CCNA texts and sequestered myself away to study (using vacation time). I began to study each major topic by reading the relevent section from each text, but soon found myself reading exclusively from Lammle's remarkably condensed and easy to read Exam Notes.

Even without any significant hands-on experience, I easily passed the exam.

12 Great book. Worth the money!
This is a good (truncated) version of the CCNA Study Guide by Lammle. You probably do not require this if you have the other book...but if you buy both, you have no excuse not to pass the exam...Everything you need is right there!
13 Out of Date
This book focuses around the 4xx series of test that have been discontinued by CISCO. I'd recomend other great titles that are more current for the 5xx series of test.

Cisco CCNA Exam #640-507 Certification Guide (With CD-ROM)

14 Excellent Study Guide, But Not a Replacement for Experience
Lammle's Study Guide is well written and well organized. I took Cisco's ICND class, which I was told would prepare you for the CCNA, but Lammle's text cuts to the chase and tells you what topics are really important for the test. (ie, only ethernet, only IP & IPX, etc.)

A word of caution: using Lammle's text to become a "paper CCNA" probably won't work. You need to know something already about networking. He tells you that you need to understand the OSI model and gives some details, but you really need to understand it beyond the book. (he suggests another text by his publisher for more details on most topics)

All in all, tho, I would highly recommend this book. There are a few errors, and access to a Cisco router to practice on is helpful, but the bottomline is that this book is what I primarily used to prepare for the exam, and scored a 906 out of 1000 on the exam. (755 is passing) 'Nuff said.

15 Right on the money!
This book is the cats-meow! If you want to pass the CCNA and want to study quickly, then buy this book and the Sybex CCNA e-trainer.
16 There are better books
I would recommend that if you are pursuing certification beyond the CCNA that you instead purchase a CCNP book as it will more than cover what you need to know about the CCNA and will save you a couple of dollars.
17 Good enough to pass beta 2.0 CCNA
I used this book exclusively to study for CCNA 2.0 - along with 3 years of experience. It has everything you need to know to pass.
18 A back-up study guide.
This is a good book but I believe it does not cover everything at the right depth.

I began reading with very little knowledge about Networking. I used both this and the Syngress book and think that the Syngress one is the better buy. This was more readable and the end of chapter tests were far easier. However, this will not prepare you for the actual CCNA exam. On reflection, I would consider this book as an appetizer for the Syngress one.

If you buy one book, buy the Syngress one. Only buy this if you decide to buy two books or if you, like me, are starting with minimal knowledge. Good luck in any case!

19 Great book
Used this book exclusively to pass the CCNA 2.0 exam (with 4 years of networking experience). Todd pretty much tells you what you need to know. The price even makes the whole deal better.
20 Regrettably - The Best
Just past my exam a few hours ago w/832 and am evaluating that rather painful process. . .

Several things surprised me including the difficulty of the test and the lack of any single valid source to prepare. I used several

Even though this book was to me the foundation of success, it still had HUGE holes regarding test prep. Certainly, the Cisco Press book is ALSO necessary along with IOS experience - I suppose one could get this via router simulations.

I also used test engines: Edge Tests, from hind site were most reliable. Transcenders were somewhat disappointing, though marginally worth the money.

There is no doubt in my mind now that Cisco means business when they say they will prosecute those who divulge test materials. This is especially evident in these training materials as again, NONE were exact representation of the test. Very different experience for me, from my MCSE/Novell background, where evidently most all publishers and practice test developers seemed far in bed w/MS.

Again, this test is very different from any book, any test engine, however, Lammle with the Cisco Press may suffice, if you have some experience. If I can do it, no doubt, you can too . . .

21 A "Coles Notes" Book for the CCNA Exam
This book is only a summary of the overall CCNA course. I would recommend this book as a compliment to the CCNA Study guide by the same author. My suggestion is to purchase the Study Guide and use this book to summarize what you have learned.
22 this plus exam cram = ccna
I used this book combined with exam cram and found the 2 to be a great compliment to each other. This book is easy to read and filled with info.
23 CCNA Exam Notes
Great condensed version of the CCNA Exam Study Guide by the same publisher. Best used to quickly review your readiness level just prior to the exam. Excellent supplement to other CCNA training materials. It is compact, which makes it a good guide to take if you travel.
24 CCNA with ease.
This book is a great supplement to the CCNA Study Notes by the same auther. For those of you who have little expirience in the networking field, study this first to build a foundation and then get into more detail with the study guide. You should have no problem passing.
25 Best short CCNA book.
I wouldn't attempt the CCNA on this book alone, but coupled with the Study Guide (also by Todd Lammle) I got a 962 this afternoon. If you make note of the "Exam Essentials" sections, you cannot fail the exam; there was _nothing_ on my exam that this book did not adequately prepare me for.
26 Do you want to pass with 888? :)
I used this book only for exam preparation and I passed with 888. I found another review on this book and that guy wrote that he laso passed with 888. 2 events - it's not a big statistics but you have something to think about ...

And now serious stuff. It's possible to pass exam using only this book - it's true. And it's not so difficult. But some things like ISDN or Frame-Relay are covered very breifly and I had no idea what to answer on some questions during the test because it wasn't explained in the book at all. But this books gives you very strong background in other parts and the the chances to get passing score are very good.

27 Great book to review right before the test
I mainly used the CCNA book by Laura Chappell to study with, but the day before and the morning of the test I used CCNA Exam Notes to review with. At the end of each chapter are sections titled: 'Exam Essentials', 'Key Terms and Concepts', and 'Sample Questions'. These sections were EXTREMELY useful to me while reviewing for the test. I wouldn't recomend this book as your primary study guide, but I would DEFINITLY buy it to review with. With the help of this book, I passed the test with an 860.
28 You need to have a lab or a class with this book
This book is great if you are enrolled in a class that prepares you for the CCNA exam, like if you are enrolled in Cisco's Networking Academy.
29 It is Definitely a good book
It is a good revision book. I would treat it as revision book. I spend about two hours on re-reading this book before going to take the exam. It can refresh me all the key point, all the important notes in CCNA exam. If you just use this book for your exam, I think it is not 100% to ensure you can pass, so I use it with another study guide also by Todd Lammle. I would also like the part of "Exam Essentials" that can let you know what are the CCNA exam emphasize on, so that you can pay more attention on them. All parts of the content are good enough to let you pass, eg. IOS, LAN switch etc. But the materials about WAN is not good enough actually, even I have read the study guide(not this exam notes), I still cannot 100% handle all the questions about WAN, eg. sth about ISDN, Frame Relay etc. You may need other materials for supplement(I get 75% on WAN protocols).

Anyway, it is a good book

30 Number 1 reference for exam
Just sat the CCNA exam and passed. I used this book as main reference (read it 4 times), and used 'Study Notes' and Cisco CCNA CD for more depth. The exam has some dodgy questions, but if know all the facts this book presents plus some experience on Cisco routers.....you will pass! I did with a score of 888 .... whew!
31 Great Reviews for the CCNA Exam
This help me alot in passing the CCNA exam. I highly recommend anyone who is going to take the CCNA exam should at least read it once. It summarize what you need to know about the test and in a real production environment.
32 Excellent to review the exam topics
I passed the CCNA exam by using this book and the study guide from Sybex, it's well organized and has condensed information, it's very helpful before you pass the exam to review the topics that the author stresses the most.
33 Todd Lammle is a networking god...book recommended
Just wanted to go on record for saying that this book is one of the most concise and accurate that I've ever read. Mr. Lammle makes this stuff easy. No wonder that all his books get such high ratings here on Amazon...
34 This book rocks!
This book breaks each objective down to the stuff you really need to know. I also used the larger Cybex book, also by Lammle, just for more background info. However, this book is really all you need to pass the exam. I got a 906 out of 1000 using primarily this book!
35 The only book you need to pass the CCNA Exam
If you have some cisco internetworking knowledge, this is the only book you need to buy and study in order to pass the CCNA exam. My advice is you read the book once, but remember only the summary at the end of each chapter and thouroughly go through the questions in the book, you are guatanteed to pass the exam. This book is a good investment for passing the CCNA exam!
36 It helped me pass the CCNA
Hi everyone, I passed the CCNA this morning Dec. 22 with an 897. Todd's book was a concise source of review for the exam. Be warned, you should buy another source besides this book, as you won't know what yer talking about if you only use Exam Notes.
37 Buy, Read, Learn and succeed!
I was enrolled in the official Cisco course here at Cal State Univ. Monterey Bay. Guess who's book was the textbook? Todd's! Pick up the exam notes to smooth out rough spots after studying with the big Lammle book. Picking up the Cisco Technical Expert books will help you also, as they are loaded with information. I'm taking the CCNA on Wed, Dec. 23. I'll let y'all know howit goes. Good job Todd.
38 WOW-a must have for the test
The books method of reviewing the same highlights and hammering the important items in, in quick succession is a great method for teaching. He knows the material, and what is important.
39 Breeze through the CCNA
If you are looking to pass the CCNA and already have a basic understanding of networking, this book should be all you need. It is a fun and exciting few evening read!
40 Essential for passing the exam.
A little experience with Cisco routers and this book are all you need to pass the exam. Reading is extremely fast-paced, after reading it twice (2-3 hours each time) I passed the exam easily with a score of 925.
41 GREAT BOOK for review priorr to test.
The only book you need if you have some experience with Cisco routers. Gives all you need to know to pass the test. The only thing that is missing is a CBT. For that you will have to buy to CCNA Study Guide.
42 Another Study Source
I read through this study guide and actually found the questioning (and answers) to be helpful. This study guide should be considered just that - a study guide with Q&A. To pass the Cisco CCNA test you will HAVE to study in-depth access-lists, the OSI layers, ISDN, Frame-relay, Novell frame types, default admin distances, routing updates times, switches and types. In my test I was expecting and was prepared for a lot of sub-netting and but only had a few questions. The book I used as my primary study book was "Cisco Certified Network Associate" by Syngress Media. I also used the Boson Tests as recommended by Todd Lammle. These proved very, very helpful. One more thing, it is also very helpful to practice on a router (at least one). There are 78 questions in 90 minutes and no going back. I passed with a 822. Now I am studying for the ACRC test. Good luck everyone.
43 You Gotta Have This For The CCNA
Everything for the exam is in this guide. I may have read it three times, needless to say I passed the exam with this book and the full version study guide. Todd made it easy. Thanks Man.
44 Excellent Pocket Reference
If you have experience with Cisco Routers and are looking for a concise study guide for the CCNA test this is the book for you.
45 Very good for test prep.
The study guide is exactly what the title suggests....a guide to study with. This book breaks down the test exactly how the test is broken down. This book is an excellent compliment to a class or another more in-depth book. The overriding value of this study guide is the questions at the end of each section and the confidence you will have after using this book as study tool.
46 Perfect CCNA study guide
Read the book, use a router, pass the test. Todd did an excelent job putting the pieces of the CCNA test together. Study EVERYTHING in the book and you'll do well.
47 Gotta have it!
Passed the new CCNA exam with this book. Get it
48 Excellent for cramming right before the test
Don't try to use this book to learn the subject, but do use it to review for the test. It clearly and succinctly outlines all the things you need to know, so you can identify whether you're ready or not, and do some last minute cramming. The review questions were good -- a couple of them exactly matched ones that I encountered on the actual exam.
49 I passed the test with a 906 after studying this book!
This book helped to clarify the concepts in the "big" CCNA study guide. It also pointed out what I really needed to focus on for the exam which was a tremendous help.
50 This book is very well written and helps you learn what you
I read Todd Lammle's book, it was very well written and it is laid out in such a way that any reader can learn the material. The reveiws, keyword, questions all work together to reinforce the material presented. I would receommend any book by T. Lammle.
51 I agree that this is a great book, with no errors!
I read this book cover-to-cover, twice. I found no errors either. It is short and to the point. You can't beat it for the price. This is a must-have book for the CCNA
52 NO ERRORS! I JUST READ THE WHOLE THING! PERFECT!
I just read this cover to cover, and found NO ERRORS. I looked at the only bad review on this page and figured it must be another author of another book. That is very obvious after reading this great book. If you want to know what is on the exam, this is your book.
53 This is a great book.
I think this book is very well put together, has little or no errors, and goes very well with the Sybex CCNA Study Guide. I used this book as a last mintute cram 3 days before the test. I read it for 90 minutes for three nights. It really helped me understand the OSI, subnetting, IP protocols, routers commands, access-lists and WAN support. I recommend this book highly!
54 Absolutly the best CCNA books around!
The Sybex CCNA Study Guide and Sybex Notes book is the best way to study for the CCNA exam. This book has very few errors, especially if you compare it to the Exam Cram series. If you want your CCNA, then these two books are all you need.
55 Too many errors in book odviously not proofread
When you get to about the middle of the book -- finally -- you get to the simple broadcast address, subnet mask calculations and several of those are wrong or have horrendous typographical errors (I.E. no, "255.255.255.255.252" is not a valid netmask...) Its like no one even proofread the thing. The same page referred to has other errors as well. I was really disappointed with this book.

On the other hand the content and depth of topic coverage is good.

56 A very good book
Although the exam has changed, this book + some "hands on" experience is enough to pass. I was preparing for the old exam objectives, only to find out (too late) that the test had indeed changed. None the less, this book was still strong enough to get me a decent passing score. If you can get your hands on the ICRC book, the combination of the three is a sure winner.
57 Beats Exam Cram hands down!
First of all, yes, the CCNA exam format has changed. There are now a total of 78 questions. Scores are graded 300-1000, with a passing score of 755. You CANNOT mark questions and go back! Time limit is 90 minutes.

Now to the book. There are a couple of minor mistakes, but NOTHING like the errors throughout the ExamCram book. If you have to choose between the two, then this is the book for you. Well written, and concise. I think the ExamCram book is structured better, and includes slightly more detail, but the accuracy of the content means you should read it after you've read this book.

Good luck studying...

Justin Dyson, MCSE, CCNA

58 CCNA EXAM CHANGE
This book was excellent to review and study from! However the exam for the CCNA has changed. I would like to know if anyone is aware of this? I just took the exam and it is 78 questions not 70. I got a score of 720 and needed to score 755 to pass. If anyone has any input let me know. Thanks
59 Clear and concise, a no BS approach to passing the exam
This little book is the best. I read it from cover to cover, understood everything, and passed the test no problem. I even got thestudy guide, but found that I didn't need it. But, I'm sure I'll still be using these books for future reference. I recommend this book highly.
60 Has all the answers in a small book.
If you want a compact, small CCNA book. Then this is the book for you. If you want to combine it with the Sybex CCNA Study Guide, so much the better. This book is the best!!
61 Lammle is the man! You have to get this book!
I passed easily!!! The objectives are clear and concise, and easy to follow. I recommend this book and the CCNA Study Guide, all through Sybex.
62 Lammle The Best Source for getting a CCNA!
This book wasn't available when I passed the CCNA test back inMarch. I already owned his original book and his fantastic softwaretest prep.

I bought this book anyway! It's a concise and handy reference. His books are soooo much better then the 'official' Cisco classes I took. (In fact I stopped using the Cisco material when I found Todd's orginal Sybex book. I was the first one in my class to pass the CCNA which meant I got a 'A' in the class and didn't have to show up anymore!)

If you want to get a CCNA, get hold of any materials by Todd Lammle you can.

63 Very good book
not having that much cisco exposure i thought this book was outstandin
64 Just buy the full length study guide.
I would not call this a 'condensed' study guide.

It has about the same amount of info as the full length study guide, but fewer pages. This results in a 'shorter' book that is harder to read and follow.

My advice (having read 3 CCNA study guides) is to just buy the full length study guide and skip this 'condensed' guide. You will find the same amount of info in the full length guide, and it will be easier to read and understand.

Basically, too much info is packed into many short sections which results in difficult reading. Just buy the full length guide, it will be less of a headache.

65 Buy the full book.
This "cheat sheet" was a little lacking. The book does not have all the information required to pass the exam, but it is a good helper for experienced gear-heads.
66 Solid Info
This book is very well done. Compared to some of the other publications, I find it concise and to the point. The objective oriented approach is a great idea. I will be taking the CCNA exam later this month and combined with my 5 years of internetworking experience I am confident I will pass, Thanks Todd!
67 Fantastic tool to gather and focus your thoughts.
After reading Todds CCNA Study Guide I used the Exam notes to review and priortize any weakness I still had in preparation for the Exam. After a good review session I walked in and aced the Exam!!!
68 The best way to prepare if you have real world experience.
This book is perfect for anyone who has some experience with Cisco routers, and internetworking in general, and is looking to prepare for the test. The material and debth covered is right on. The sample questions are much easier and less specific than the real test, but they let you know if you need to review material again. I read this book cover to cover twice, and passed with an amazing score. If yau have some experience, this book will focus you right where you need to be.
69 Experience + CCNA Study Guide + This Book = CCNA
This book is an excellent source for preparing for the CCNA test, although nothing beats experience. I used this book, Todd's CCNA Study Guide, some web resources, oh yeah and my 16 years of experience. I passed the test. On to the next one. Good job Todd.
70 Best Exam Cram guide for CCNA exam EVER written!
I bought this book, the(CCNA)Study Guide and Laura Chappell's Intro to Cisco Router Configuration. I Read the Ccna Exam Notes one day before the exam and scored well!
71 Not bad at all!
I haven't take the exam yet, but I find this book very useful, although there are some minor confusing error but it is tolerable because it is an honest mistake, unlike the sample test i've downloaded from osborne man.., it has a lot of mistake and you will end up confused. Buy this book and it won't waste your money. Buy intelligently, look for a review and ask some friends.
72 Great book for the exam!
This book was short and to the point. I took the exam based on this book, some online material, and CBTs. Needless to say, I passed the exam.

73 Another great book by Todd LAMMLE
A great book for CCNA Exam review
74 The only book you need to pass the exam, I did
This book is Marvelous, Fantastic, and it covers in a little over 300 pages what most books do in 600+ pages, where you get lost with the wealth of in some cases unnecessary information presented. This is most enjoyable technical book I have ever read and the only book you need to pass the exam.
75 Gotta have it!
This is one of those "gotta have" tech books. Works great with the Sybex CCNA Study Guide for last minute cram session.
76 Perfect pre-exam study guide
While not able to replace the full text versions of the CCNA study guides, this book is a perfect companion to all of the other references for this exam. It served as a great confidence builder, and a great way to brush up on the major points covered on the exam. The author of this book has taken painstaking care to ensure the accuracy of the material covered, and presents it in a very easy to read format. The author admits and cautions the reader that there is no replacement for hands on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches to be able to acquire the understanding necessary to do well on the CCNA exam. This book is absolutely essential. Five Stars ++ !
77 Use it with the Sybex CCNA Study Guide
For the price of this book, you cannot go wrong. It is short and to the point. It is wonderful if used with the Subex CCNA Study Guide for a quick cram before the exam. I recommend it highly!
78 Great for CCNA exam prep but use with the Cisco ICRC book!
I liked the book for a quick prep review before taking the CCNA exam. However you need to use also the Cisco ICRC book with hands on practice with Cisco router to really learn the stuff. Great for exam review but not for learning Cisco without the other book.
79 Not the complete test, but you can pass with it.
I read this completely once and then went back and re-read certain sections. I read it after I read the Study Guide twice. I work with routers everyday and the Exam Notes are for the person that already knows the fundamentals. A newbie will be lost. This gives you about 80% of what you'll need to pass the test. I took the test today and made a 81%. Thanks Todd.
80 Excellent book, and cheap too!
This book was great. As long as you have heard about TCP/IP and Novell and have a dim idea of the OSI model, you're all set. The questions (like all study guides) could be a little harder and more like the exam though.
81 Great Book, Wish I Had It Sooner!
Took the test about 2 weeks ago and missed it with 61% (68% to pass); took it again yesterday and passed with 87%. Wish I could have gotten my hands on this book earlier! Very concise and points out essential items to know for the exam. I also have the Study Guide (which is good), but I had a hard time studying with it (info overload). As I don't have much hands-on experience with routers, I also used CBTs and watched a couple CCNA prep videos (starring Mr Lammle himself). If you're familiar with routers and general networking, this book should be enough. If not, get your hands on some other training materials.
82 The technical editor must have been a genius.
I would like to see more works edited by this same gentleman. He did an excellent job.
83 THIS BOOK IS THE TEST. NOTHING EXTRA NOTHING MISSING
Anyone with sixteen bucks can get a CCNA. Even me! The other books offer too much information that is not tested. Just memorize this book and you are all set.
84 Works great with the Sybex CCNA Study Guide
This is a great addition to the Sybex CCNA Study Guide by Todd Lammle. After reading the study guide and reviewing the questions at the end of each chapter, I read this book for two nights just before I took my test. I received a 94%. I really think for the price of this book you can't go wrong. It's really a Cram Exam look alike, but it's better.

Quote of the Day:

I have a box of telephone rings under my bed. Whenever I get lonely, I

open it up a little bit, and I get a phone call. One day I dropped the
box all over the floor. The phone wouldn't stop ringing. I had to get
it disconnected. So I got a new phone. I didn't have much money, so I
had to get an irregular. It doesn't have a five. I ran into a friend
of mine on the street the other day. He said why don't you give me a
call. I told him I can't call everybody I want to anymore, my phone
doesn't have a five. He asked how long had it been that way. I said I
didn't know -- my calendar doesn't have any sevens.
