the book's good for a beginner. I just finished some courses at the university focusing Computer Networks in the CSCI, E.E., and I.T perspective. The book is a really good resource of information. I recommend this CCNA fast pass booklet with the purchase of this book.

2 Feeling like at the Intro of Computers 101
I felt falling behind in my incessant professional education and stopped at a very courteous people at CISCO Press whom recommended to start from bottom up even though I had almost 5 years of experience on the latest hardware deployment at the office, with hands on the job training and lacking of formal instructor lead technical education, no matter how many years you have spent at the engineering school and others at graduate school, I found it very helpful and designed set of books.

You should give it a try, it is a good start. The trend of technology is to wide to consider to sit and relax. You have to keep on going. I am just waiting to finish these first books to follow with the next on the series.
