Canon EOS Rebel Ti 35mm SLR Camera (Body Only--No Lens)

Compras Nikon
Bluetooth
Canon has once again raised the bar in the world of 35mm SLRs with its EOS Rebel Ti. Canon claims the Rebel Ti has the fastest autofocus (AF) in its class, which should increase accuracy and precision for shooting at a real-life pace. A built-in flash pops up easily for low-light situations, and its extended arm reduces red-eye effect. This version of the Rebel Ti comes without a lens and does not include the quartz date-stamping function.

Fast, accurate, and flexible, Rebel Ti's three autofocus systems (the camera chooses the best one automatically) free you to concentrate on your composition and to just have fun. Seven focusing points cover an area wider than any other camera in its class, letting you place your subject off-center or even focus on the area covered by multiple focus points.

The glare-free laser matte viewfinder displays seven wide-area focusing points, which are clearly superimposed to guide composition. There's also a dioptric adjustment so that prescription glasses can be removed for up-close comfort. The extralarge LCD panel is illuminated for clear viewing whatever the lighting conditions.

The Rebel Ti's automatic exposure system should ensure professional results, but the camera's special exposure controls give you lots of room for experimentation. With the multiple exposure control, you can place up to nine images in a single frame for impressive surrealistic compositions.

Shooting feels natural because the shutter button, AF point selector, main dial, command dial, and even the LCD panel's buttons are all within reach for one-handed operation. The command dial has seven preset image controls for work in various common shooting situations.

The lens mount is solid stainless steel to handle Canon's full line of world-renowned lenses. A built-in, automatic pop-up flash eliminates guesswork. It recycles for action quickly, and with a red-eye reduction lamp built right in, images are natural and flattering.

EOS Rebel Ti leads SLR photography into the future with a design that's intelligently planned as well as artfully executed. It's comfortable to hold, carry and use... intuitive so you'll start having fun right away... and loaded with head-turning Canon style! All essential controls...
1 A great start to an awesome line of 35mm SLRs
When buying a SLR camera, you likely intend to purchase additional lenses and/or flashes to build a system (if not, maybe a point and shoot would be better). Canon has an awesome line of flashes, lenses, and other accessories for their bodies. Sadly they all add up to quite an expense, so buying a body at the lower end, such as this one, can allow you to spend more on lenses, which ultimately contribute much more to the final product (only your own abilities exceed them in impact). The difference between this body and some of Canon's higher end ones is minimal for most users (bodies costing 2-4 times as much are metal, sealed from the weather, and may focus quicker, but few really need any of this). This camera leaves few feautures out (especially when compared to competing brands' cameras in this price range), and you can build a wonderful system around it. If you ever do develop a need for a fancier model, you will have learned a whole lot from this body and will have a collection of lenses and flashes to continue to use.
2 confused
I have been looking at this camera for the past few days and then today I look and the price went up $17, that's lame.
3 Great Deal
I had my Cannon rebel G stolen on Chrismas, so for a replacement I have been Eying the new Cannon Ti. Every store I've looked at sells this model for $300, and up. It comes with the smaller 35-80mm Lens, and thats it. I was very happy with this package deal, because it came with a better len's 27-90mm( Nice Close ups!), Camera bag, 2 batteries, cleaning kit, Mini tripod, and a role of film! On top of that it was free to ship! The camera itself is beautiful, a nice step up from my stolen Rebel G!
4 So much fun!
I love this camera. I am not a professional photographer. I use my camera to have fun. I have taken over a dozen rolls of film and they all turned out great. I have never owned a SLR camera until now, but I will from now on. This one is very easy to use. I did get the deal with the case and all, but I paid only $368. As for the comment about making more money, every store has sales. Sometimes you hit them, sometimes you don't. My pictures (of my newborn son) are priceless and I am so glad they were taken with this camera instead of another.
5 why is the price going up every week??
I started to notice this page for 3 weeks now and the price keeps going up every time. It started at $359.99 when i saw it for the first time then 369.99 and now its 399.99. Not sure if amazon is playing a trick to make more money during holiday season???
becareful and there are other places u can get this for around 359.
6 Best Entry SLR Camera
I bought this camera about 9 months ago. I was looking for a camera that was easy to use for the beginner, but had many good features that were needed for variety of photo shooting. I was looking for a light, userfriendly camera. The body, especially the grip is so natural I took the camera with me to a NASCAR race and used Fuji 1600 speed film for the stop action. Detail was so spectacular, you could see the lug nuts on the cars as they drove by the stands where i viewed the race! I also took the camera to Las Vegas and captured some exceptional shots with the standard lens in all types of situations from action to low light. I have bought accessories: Lens Filter and Polarizer, shutter cable, lens hood, tripod and various films. This camera has exceeded my expectations and I have not fully utilzed all the features. If you are looking for a great, ergonomic, easy focus and versitale camera, then this is a must purchase.
7 Best SLR for the money
This camera is the best camera that i found for the money. The SLR camera is incredible becuase you are able to look at the exact image that you are going to shoot. In addition, there are many shooting features which are fully customizable including potrait, sports, auto, date, shutterspeed changes, off center focus and many more. If I were to do it all over again I would once again buy this SLR camera. SLR is the top of the heap and Canon is ahead of the pack. Buy it now!
8 Words to the wise -- buy and enjoy!
I bought this camera to replace an EOS Rebel G that was stolen. I haven't had it long but I can already tell you that having the LCD on the back instead of the top makes a huge difference. (Even literaly -- digits on the display are two or three times larger in addition to being more convieniently located.) I also noticed right away that compared to the G the grip feels narrower and deeper which somehow makes it feel like you have a tighter hold of the camera.

The first two reviewers of this package alarmed me enough that I read through all the product details very carefully before placing the order. The main thing I noticed that hasn't been emphasized before is that the delux package comes with a lens that has an ultrasonic motor (that's what the USM stands for) which is a step up from the micro motor in the standard package. It was also nice to get all the little things -- lens cleaning kit, batteries, bag, UV filter-- out of the way in one fell swoop.

The one negative I have is that I very quickly broke the tripod by pulling too hard on one of the legs. It only extends to about a foot and for some reason I thought it might telescope out farther than that. I'm not happy about it breaking so quickly but I did use too much force.

The camera bag does seem a tiny bit bulky. Previously, I was using a Tamrac holster style bag. I think eventually I will probably get another one for this camera.

I highly recommend the Canon EOS Rebels, especially to novices with aspirations, and this Rebel in particular. I also strongly recommend that if you lock your camera or other valuables in your trunk that you also lock the trunk release latch in the passenger compartment (if your car has that feature.)

9 Very happy with this kit
received everything in the kit-Loved having everything to get me started in photography. Camera is wonderful, very fun to use and is very comfortable to hold.
10 A Few Things to Ponder
First of all, I would not consider myself a camera expert at all. To compensate, I did fairly extensive research on the different SLRs available for a beginner's price tag. I purchased my Canon Ti a little over a month ago, and have been truly impressed with what this camera can do. I have taken a good variety of pictures (indoor/outdoor, day/night) using 400 and 800 speed Kodak and Fuji film, and all pictures have turned out beautifully. Several of my "artistic shots" look truly amazing.

Rather than run through a list of features or give insight that I am not qualified to do, let me say a few things that I have not really seen in other reviews.

My biggest discovery was in the differences between the Ti and the Ti Date cameras. If you would be interested in using the remote switch or the remote control, you must buy the Date camera. I don't know why this isn't clearer in the product descriptions (unless I just missed it), but this is a pretty major difference between the cameras. I very nearly made a costly mistake...

Also, I think that it is vital that you actually get your hands on the cameras you are looking at. The feel of the Rebel Ti was one of its main selling points to me. I liked it better than the Rebel 2000, Minolta Maxxum 5, etc. I was also considering the Elan 7E, but felt that it was a little too heavy and bulky when compared with the Ti. Pick the camera up, see how it sits in your hands, play with the little controls... see if it FEELS right. I will say that it is very handy that the Ti has virtually everything accessible with the right hand. I also like the large LCD panel on the back of the camera (as opposed to the top). The backlight on the LCD panel adds a nice touch - I was able to use it in total darkness to take pictures of fireworks. Cool!

As to this kit, I priced the equipment it comes with, and it is well worth the money. The little accessory bag attaches right onto the big bag. As to the problem an earlier reviewer had regarding a missing strap, I am pleased to report that I received everything promised. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this camera (or the Deluxe Kit).

11 Never have to buy another camera!!!
I recently bought the Canon Rebel Date Ti camera and I absolutely love it. It feels so perfect in my hand and the design is remarkable. I expect a lot from every product I buy and this camera exeeds each one of my standards. I have used SLR cameras before but none like this one. It is so simple to use and the Autofocus is super fast and is ready for the next shot right away. I love it, and now I will buy other lenses for it, although the 28-90mm one that is included is very nice too. Perfect pictures every single time.
12 21st century starter SLR
After 18 years of using the magnificent T70, a dear friend wanted a good complete second-hand SLR kit to start taking good pictures. It was time for me to move on, so I sold her mine. I've always used a Canon and I always will.

The Ti was new on the market and I read every review out there on every Canon being sold. It was down to the Elan7 and the Ti. After a very detailed review of specs, I decided that the Elan does not offer any extra important features to the good amateur photographer justifying the price difference (unless you really want the eye focus control). I also reviewed all Canon lenses and I did not want to be changing lenses for most of my photography needs, like I did with my T70. The Canon EF 28-200 f/3.5-5.6 USM provided just that.

The Rebel Ti did not disappoint any of my expectations. As a veteran amateur photographer, I was surprised by the light weight of the camera and the performance was exactly as I expected namely sharp, capable and inclusive of everything that you might need. It does use up the two small but expensive Li batteries too fast for my taste, but the extreme light weight compensates for that and more. I did end up getting the battery pack with chargeable AA's for heavy indoor use.

The Canon EF 28-200 f/3.5-5.6 USM is a big but very responsive lens. The auto focus USM speed is very impressive. Two things about this combination you should know. One, the lens has a 72mm diameter, which hikes the price of your filters and attachments. Two, the lens comes only in black and the camera only in two colors. I did not mind the mismatch, but make sure you that you won't.

14 just want to see why a one star
i just want to see the reviews and this system will not let me without entering something here...not a great idea Amazon!
15 An awersome camera choice from Canon!
I've used Canon SLR cameras for the last 21 years and have never had any problems with any of them (a F-1, AE-1, EOS 5). I've been using this camera for the last 3 months and have been very pleased with it.

This camera's initial appeal is the compact, light weight design. However, this camera offers much, much more!

This camera has most of the features and manual setting possibilities found in professional level cameras along with idiot-proof automatic settings that make it as easy to use as a point-and-shoot...

Because you can mount any of the countless quality EOS lenses to this camera, the possibilities of crafting quality pictures is endless. The 28-90 lens that usually comes with this camera is an o.k. place to start, but I would recommend getting the Sigma 28-200 Compact Hyperzoom Lens instead---lightweight, good focal range, better construction than the comsumer grade lenses that are usually packaged with this camera. Canon has been making EOS cameras for the last 16 years and has been a market leader all that time. There's lots of great new and used lenses available.

Another definite plus to this camera is the awesome ergonomics. Unlike most SLR's, you can easily operate this one (including setting all manual and automatic settings) with just your right hand. I've never used a camera that I've been able to do this in a natural, comfortable and secure manner.

16 Another great Canon SLR!

17 One star...for now.
The Product Specifications clearly state that a strap would be included. One was not, and now amazon.com is making me work with Canon to try to get one. A major pain to say the least, and I'm not keen on using the camera too much without one. Will review the rest of the stuff later. But don't say I didn't warn you if you're looking for a strap.
18 Great family camera! YOU'LL LOVE IT!
I have had this camera for 8 months now and used over 100 rolls of film. I scrapbook and take a ton of family photos, and photos of the kids. I use 400 and 800 speed film (fuji or kodak) and this is a no fail camera! Our pictures are perfect! The are crisp, the colors pop so nicely. It is so much fun to use and easy enough that my 5 year old can pick it up and use it. It has auto focus which is what I use most of the time and is quick and easy. I prefer the date back because I might not get to putting my photos in an album for a while and need the date to remind me when it was taken. I purchased the accessory remote for [$$$] and it is great. We can do a family photo and use the cordless remote to activate the timer or to take the picture. The lens that comes with the camera is great. It is the closest you will get to a wide angel and most people won't need any additional lens. I did purchase a longer telephoto (to 300mm) because there were times such as the zoo where I needed the extra distance. I have used it a few times and it is a breeze just like the smaller lens. But most of the time I keep the standard lens on. This camera has really made me interested in photography as my pictures come out so good!
19 It makes you a pro
I have always wanted a good SLR camera. This camera is beyond my expectations. It is light and ergonomically well designed. I have taken pictures at a race track, at night, a friendly football game, birthday parties, and all I used was the automatic focus. All pictures came out great and the colors are vivid. I especially liked the developed pictures that were on a matte finish.

I am using the 800 Kodak film with anti-blur. ...P>I am now taking B&W photos with the camera.

21 Great camera for beginners and professionals
The Camera is absolutely great and its fun for any one who likes taking pictures. The zoom is perfect. The USM motor is fast focussing as promised. I also have a digital camera but the picture quality of digital does not come close to the canon. This camera can be for some one who wants everything automatic (easy to operate) or total manual (for professionals). I love the overlap feature / A DEP, light weight, in-built flash and cool looks. Before this I have owned pentex asahi mx and minolta 700, and nikon f5. For the price this is the best. Amazon has the best price for a date model with USM II 28-90 lens.
22 Great Camera
This is a great camera, simply the best. I got it two weeks ago and have already enjoyed hours of taking pictures. I love the LCD panel on the back, it allows for less crowding on the top.
I recently switched from a digital and I'm glad I did. With my 2.1 meg, I took pictures that were blurry and unfocused. Far inferrior to the Canon Rebel Ti

Camera Highly recommended!

23 Great Buy
I purchased this camera to make photos of my family. It was important to have the date on the photos along with the many other features this camera provided. The camera was delivered ahead of time and I quickly shot 3 rolls of film to try it out.
The camera worked perfectly making beautiful Christmas photos.
I give this camera and buying experiance the highest ratings.
Sincerly,
KJ
24 good price
just received this camera , haven't used it yet. Its a great price for Date-body camera though. Excellent deal...will update on picture quality once I develop the rolls.
