1 half-assed design
What you don't see from the pictures is that you first have to put your ipod in this filmsy cellophane condom wrap before inserting it into the plastic case. It seems like a last minute fix for a major design flaw (without the wrap your ipod will get damaged by dirt and dust). The cellophane condom makes it difficult to get your ipod in the case. The condom doesn't lay totally flat. It gets wrinkles and looks silly inside the case. Go back to the drawing board Contour Design
you have to be able to do better then this.
2 Great case, except for docking/speakers
I bought this case a month ago and love it. Once you put the iPod into it, there's no need to take it out (unless you want to dock it... see below). It's robust and gives you a good feel of protection for the iPod.
The only downside I can see with this case, is that the iPod does not fit most standard docking stations/speakers due to the plastic casing. This case is not designed for taking the iPod frequently out, so if you're planning on using it with docking stations a lot, this might not be the right solution for you. I have the Logic 3 i-Station, but have to take the iPod out of the case each time I want to dock it.
3 Not perfect, but very close
I don't think there IS a 5 star iPod case. That said - this is about as close as it gets. If you have a 40 Gig iPod, you might as well go with the Contour Showcase. But if you have a 20 Gig like mine, this fits tighter and adds less size to the iPod. IMHO, it looks even more attractive than the quite awesome Showcase. (hopefully my product photos will post here)

The GREAT: the only case I've seen that enhances the beauty of the iPod rather than diminish it. It's as if your iPod was dipped in crystal clear acrylic; the resulting reflections and refractions are beautiful. It's quite a feat to deliver such protection AND such stylish appearance. It also adds very little weight and size to the iPods - oh you can get a lighter jacket or sleeve, but you won't get a tenth of the protection and style of this beauty. The sleeve (see below) even protects the click wheel while allowing full access, a rare thing in any ipod case.

The IMPERFECT: It's a slide-in case and as such, the risk of scratching the iPod is high. Contour's solution to this is a plastic sleeve that goes over the iPod before you insert it in the case. It's not a perfect solution. As you might expect, the sleeve starts to hang up and slip off the iPod as it enters the case. It took a dozen attempts to get it in reasonably well, but i never did get it snug. That leaves a bit of a wrinkly look to the click wheel.
And as others have noted, supplying a single sleeve with a web link to order more is kinda cheesy. Give me 3 in the box and raise the price $3 instead. I suspect they don't want you to EVER take the iPod out of the iSee and that is an option, but - I'd prefer some backup sleeves without having to wait on snail mail.
The belt clip worries me a bit - it seems like it could accidentally release from the case when bumped and let your ipod fall? But it hasn't happened.

The bottom line? At $20 this product is cheaper than most, better looking than most and more functional than most.
4 Excellent case
This case is wonderful. I put my iPod in when I got it and haven't had need to take it out. Fits snuggly and I love that it's clear, and everything is accesible. Very highly recommended.
5 your search for an iPod case is OVER!!!!!
this case is fabulous..its as good as a case for a cell phone, its thick and sturdy, this thing keeps ur iPod protected for good.. stop searching and surrender your money for this case, you'll never need to look again, enjoy!
6 does the job
This is a very slick case. It's great. Looks good, protects good, and compared to the prices of other cases, it's a bargain.

My few complaints are small. For one, the belt clip allows the iPod to be held horizontally only. I'd have prefer a vertical clip. Second, the case comes with a clear cellophane wrap that you must use, otherwise the case will scratch your iPod when you insert it. I'd have preferred more than one of these clear wraps. Third, the bottom attachment that you have to snap back on to enclose the case doesn't seem to click back in perfectly. The fit is still tight but there's a fraction of a millimeter space left open. Fourth, the opening for the USB/FireWire port is somewhat difficult to open unless you have super strong fingernails. Using an instrument to pry it open will leave small dents in the plastic.

Overall, though, it's a great case. I recommend it.
7 Amazing Protection
Alright, I bought this thing after looking a million iPod cases. My main purpose was protection for when I was at the gym. This looked like it would do the trick.

So today I take it to the gym for the first time, and my hand gets caught on the headphone cord and the iPod falls off the treadmill and onto the belt and then launches three feet into a cinderblock wall.

I freaked out, thinking for sure that my iPod was dead. But lo and behold it was protected perfectly! Not even a scratch on the case! This is probably the best 16 dollars I have ever spent.
8 Excellent case for the iPod
This is a really nice case. It fits very tight to the iPod and doesn't add much bulk. It's made of a very sturdy, hard plastic. I would highly recommend this item to iPod users.
9 Best Case EVER
Best Case EVER!! great case that comes with a removal clip that is sturdy along with the hard plastic case that keeps the iPod secure. It also comes with a thin plastic sheet covering thing that you have to put on BEFORE you put on the hard plastic; this protects the whole iPod from being scratched by the case itself and also protects the scroll wheel while still allowing use of the wheel. I have ran with this case clipped to my shorts and it stayed there without slipping! I definitely felt the clip kept it secure. The only annoying thing with this case is that sometimes little tiny particles of dust get stuck between the iPod and the case. But this is only a minor thing that only matters if your a dirt freak. And also if you have an iPod dock you shouldn't buy this otherwise you will have to take the iPod out of the case; otherwise there is a perfect opening at the bottom of the case that allows you to hook it up to the cable to recharge or connect to your computer.
10 Really cool
I love this case, it feels tight, secure, and sturdy. It lets me SEE my iPod in all its natural beauty, something that the iSkin does not allow. Also the area cut out around the click wheel is slanted so that it's easier to turn, on an iSkin it's just a flat drop. It's also very convenient which means you almost never have to take your iPod out of the case which means that your chances of unwanted damage or scratches is minimal. Only downsides are that it gets dirty sometimes, but my friends have iSkins and those things attract lint and other tiny particles like mad, and that it slides around easily. If you can live with those problems, this case is the BEST.
11 Your Search Is Over
Best case I have seen for the 4th Gen. iPods. Grippy surface around the edges makes it slip-proof on your dash or desk. Very durable and screen cover has not scratched in two months of heavy use. It feels good and my iPod still looks brand new. The iTrip won't work with it, but you should be using an FM transmitter that plugs to the dock connector anyway. Better sound!
12 Only pertinent reviews please !!!
This is a great product. I wish people like "ipod follower" would get a clue and realize that a review should reflect the product, not your incompentency in making sure it fit your circumstances. It's like saying a pair of size 3 shoes didnt fit well on your size 12 feet !!! DUHHHHHHHH !!!
13 Case is not that good...
First, the buttom cap cannot really fit well. It's not a big deal, but the top is a big problem. From the description we know it can let people attach an iTrip w/o removing the case. However, itrip cannot really attach the ipod well. The problem is that itrip cannot boradcast the signal well. You will get lots noises from radios and doesn't matter you change to other freq. Anyway, if you are not using itrip, it's a good deal.
14 Do you need something to house your Ipod? Then GET THIS!
I wanted something to keep my Ipod scratch free and have a way to carry it when working out. This is the best one I've seen, and the designers thought of everything to keep your Ipod in perfect condition. It's worth every penny. Only thing I can come up with that is a little negative is that the clip mounts sideways, so your Ipod will be horizontal when clipped to your body. But the Ipod is so small, who cares? I just got this and it seems really sturdy. The clip would be the first thing to break probably, or maybe the little door to gain access to the port. That door seems like it might break eventually, but if it did the thing would still be usable. And the clip is removeable, a big plus. And if the clip did break by chance, you could still use the case. Those are the only negatives, but the positives far outweigh them. Very well designed
15 Super case at a low price!
Great case made from sturdy clear plastic. Snaps easily on and off the belt clip and offers super protection for your ipod. Even comes with a thin plastic jacket to put on your ipod before putting it in the case for extra scratch protection. If you want to prevent damage and still be able to enjoy the good looks of your ipod, this is the case for you.
16 Make sure you buy the right one
I got a 40 GB iPod for Christmas and thought there was only one Contour Design case for all iPods (exluding the mini). Got it home and the 40GB iPod doesn't fit in the case I ordered.
17 A bargain at any price
I'm VERY happy with this case. Although it's not clear in the description, this is the ISee 20 model, which is compatible with all 4th Generation 20 gig iPods, including the U2 Special Edition (which is what I have.) The case itself is a single piece of plastic, not a "snap together" type of case, and it protects and displays the iPod very well. The bottom of the case snaps on and off with a set of keys or screwdriver or something similiar so as to not come off accidentally, and this allows you to slip your iPod right into the case. There's a flap door on the bottom for your pin connector, and the top is open enough to allow you to use all 3rd party add ons. The Griffin iTrip FM Transmitter (which is a complete piece of crap, BTW), fits perfectly.

For such a low price item, this has a LOT of high end features, including full protection for your screen, a belt clip, and a nice beveled edge around the circle for clickwheel access.

Fantastic iPod accessory. I wish I could give it more stars.
18 No More Worries About my iPod!
I can't believe I didn't buy this sooner! When I first bought my iPod, the workers from the Apple store said that it gets scratched easily and I should buy a case for it. I should have taken their advice and buy a case! The very first 1st week I had it, it already developed more scratches than I imagined! If you think I'm too careless, I'm actually too self-conscious about my stuff! I didn't want more scratches from developing, so I bought this Contour Design Case. The case is made from an impact resistant plastic and has a dock protector to protect it from getting dust and other unwanted substances in there! I'm pretty pleased with how much protection it brings to my iPod. Also, it doesn't ruin the great appearance of your iPod when you put it on, unlike other iPod cases!
19 Ultimate IPOD Protection
Face it-that new IPOD you just got, or are about to get, is a scratch magnet. I shudder to think of accidently dropping my IPOD. That's why I bought the Contour Showcase. Saw it recommended at IPOD Lounge. It is a solid choice. The outside is rubber, the inside is solid plastic. The clear front and back panels are thick hard plastic. I chose this over the leather or silicone cases because I tend to just throw it in my computer bag when I travel, and wanted something hard/solid. I picked the white version which looks great, but imagine the black would look good too. This product appears to be well contstructed, and should last a long time. This retails at other sites for $10-$12 bucks more than here.
