The Creative Inspire GD580 is a complete home-entertainment speaker system designed to support the latest surround sound formats--DTS, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Pro Logic II (movie and music modes)--and to provide spectacular game playing, movie viewing, and music listening.

The 47-watt (RMS) system features an elegant, stand-alone decoder box with 2 digital inputs and 1 analog input alongside a host of intuitive features such as automatic surround-format detection and individual output channel level adjustments. This makes it ideal for Xbox gaming, or for experiencing DVDs in enveloping, 5.1-channel surround (front left/right, center, rear left/right, and subwoofer). In addition, any stereo input--including those from Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube video games--can be rendered in 5.1 using Dolby Pro Logic II.

Matched to this decoder is the powered 5.1 speaker system with timbre-matched satellite speakers and a powerful wood-enclosure subwoofer for explosive, high-impact action sequences. The GD580 also features dual headphone jacks for private listening with a gaming or video partner. The supplied wireless remote control lets you adjust your system with ease.

1 A decent purchase
It's not one that will absolutely blow your mind with " best i have ever heard sound quality" But it certainly does what you expect it to. The surround sound is nice, and doesnt cost ya an arm and a leg. I also find it to have decent bass. I'm sure u can find better, but i also know u can do a lot worse than goin with Creative. It's done the job for me so far with really no major problems at all (knock on wood).
