1 Locks up my new computer
Anywhere from 1 second to 20 minutes after going on line (it does that just fine), my whole system locks up completely and the hard reset button must be pushed.
Found and downloaded the most recent drive from the creative site, but that has not helped.
I have a dedicated line for internet with no call waiting or any other features, all diagnostics say the modem is fine. Nontheless, once connected it is only a matter of time before it locks up everything. Definately not worth getting.

2 Junk Modem
Do NOT buy this piece of crap!!!!!
This voice modem has the poorest sound quality that I've ever heard. Awful clicking sounds to boot!
You can barely hear your caller's message.
When receiving a voice meaasage, Modem Blaster keeps the phone off hook for at least an additional 45 seconds after caller's hangup.....quite annoying.
It works OK for faxing only.
Like another reviewer said, the software is Mickey Mouse at best. The drivers are not even Microsoft WHQL certified.
It didn't even remove the Creative Modem Blaster Applet in Control Panel upon uninstallation. I had to go in and remove it manually.
It also likes to take over the phone line even when you pick up the phone after only a couple rings. There are two obnoxious pickup/hangup sounds heard by both you and your caller.
I cannot say enough bad things about this junky modem.
I replaced it with an internal generic PCI Data, Fax, Voice modem. It works flawlessly.....thank God!!!!!!
Creative should stick with sound cards only!!!!!!!
I'm done!
3 Lousy modem and support
As with another reviewer here, I have a hyperthreading Pentium P4 processor and could never get the Creative modem to work. The software update on their web site says it resolves the problem, but it doesn't - the update causes the entire system to crash. I tried e-mail support, but they kept blaming the processor/bios. I finally purchased a Best Data usb modem, which works fine. Creative won't provide a refund, so I will either try to garage sale it (and hope the buyer doesn't have the same problem) or throw it in the trash.
4 Connects to dial up immediately....but that's about it
After spending up to two frustrating hours each attempt trying to log on to my dial up internet service (utilizing a factory installed modem on my Dell computer), I was initially overjoyed with the immediate internet connection the Modem Blaster V.92 provided. This was short lived, however, because with this convenience came following new inconveniences: (1) MUCH slower speed opening web pages than promised (in fact, slower than Dell's factory modem); (2) Modem Blaster creates loud bussing on all phones anytime the it is plugged in to the phone line even with the computer shut down; (3) Complete loss in ability to listen to streaming web music.
Don't let your wallet get blasted by the Modem Blaster V.92 and purchase a different modem that has a better performance and consumer satisfaction record.
5 Bad software.
If you have a hyper-threaded processor in your computer, be wary of this modem. The software that shipped with the modem was so totally flawed that my computer locked up every time I tried to dial my ISP. Creative Labs has an updated driver on their website that was supposed to fix the hyper-threading problem. However, I had to manually uninstall the old driver by wiping out a bunch of registry values (very dangerous) because the uninstaller didn't remove the bad version of the driver properly. When the new driver was finally installed, most functions worked OK but my computer still hangs up whenever the Modem-on-Hold feature is actived. So I had to disable call-waiting in the dial string to avoid inbound calls altogether while online. This modem may be inexpensive but it does not perform exactly as promised. The software and the overall design leaves something to be desired.
6 Great modem but>>>>
This is a great little USB modem but there are some do's and dont's with the install!! Better make sure your USB port on your PC is at least version 1.1 (as my second computer was only USB 1.0) and couldn't get this modem to work properly on that PC. Plus if you connect to a USB powered hub as I did, you might also have slow performance problems.. Once I connected straight to the back of the PC the internet connection started to fly.. am Im very pleased with this modem "on my newer pc"
7 Great Modem
The auto-start feature for the CD-ROM did not work. Once you get past that and to the appropriate start files the modem installs easily. Good dial-up connection speeds.
