1 WOW! Big things come in small packages
I needed small speakers for my Pocket PC as I use it as my Wi-Fi radio, alarm clock, and MP3 player. These speakers are unbelievable! The sound may be small but the clarity is better than my home speakers. The bass isn't bad either. This is the best accessory purchase I have made. You won't believe the sound and volume these throw out!
2 good speakers!
I just got this speaker today, played one song, I knew it right away it's a good speaker. I have been a music fan for many years and my only concern is the sound quality. I don't know what the other reviewer is thinking who gave me a second thought. I still think that depends on the source of music. Because of the price I went ahead and bought it anyway!
3 Great performance
As someone who travels constantly, these speakers make a perfect hotel room stereo system when paired with my laptop. They'd also make great speakers for an MP3 player. Bass is very respectable considering the size. Overall sound won't make you want to throw out the home stereo, but gets the job done very nicely. I have also found that these speakers work great for meeting room presentations, up to about 20 people.
Three considerations: The AC cord is an unwieldy mess and there is no room for it in the carrying case. The switch on top between the volume controls has little to no effect on sound. Be sure that the device you plan to use with these has bass/treble or equalizer controls. Using these speakers with "flat" sound from a Line Out jack is not recommended.
4 Excellent for its size.
Excellent for its size. Highs and midrange are great! Bass is a bit lacking, but what do you expect from 1" speakers? The 150 Hz - 20 kHz spec. is accurate. The wide stereo effect works very well. Speakers really sound like they are over 2 ft apart! Nice that it comes with a carrying case and even batteries.
5 Just right
If you want your music to blast with the bass cranked all the way up until your walls shake, then you should know better than to buy these little speakers! But if you want some nice background music while you're working without the bother of headphones, you'll love these. The sound clarity is remarkably good for such little speakers, and I think they are loud enough to use for mood music the next time we entertain, too. Highly recommended.
6 I LOVE THESE SPEAKERS
These Travelsound speakers made by Creative Labs are just AWESOME! The sound is great for such little speakers. They run on 4 AA batteries or you can purchase the AC adapter. They even have volume controls and a 3D sound stage switch that gives the speakers a BIG sound. They make a great addition to any portable audio device.
7 GOOD PRODUCT!
Some people want a large drink in a small cup! There is no pleasing some people. This is a great product for the price. If it was easy to make compact speakers why would they bother with big ones. There are limitations to anything this small. I find these great for my MP3 player for workoust or around the house. This is basically perfect when you don't want to put on headphones. Just plan on buying rechargable batteries (energizer 30min. w/4AA batt. about tweentyfive dollars). that goes for most anything that takes batteries these days. Rebate makes is an extra good deal. If your looking for something to replace your BOSE sound system this is not it but for portable speakers their perfect!
8 A Creative Way To Burn Your Money
This is a dumb product. Even worse, I feel dumb for buying it. Make no mistake about it, I am sure you won't feel any differently if you end up spending your hard earned cash on this low tech paperweight. Here's why you need to save your money:
1. While the Creative TravelSound 200 is even smaller than it appears, it quite heavy for such a small item. In fact, once you put in the 4AA batteries I would venture to guess that it far outweighs most MP3 players. It seems hardly worth the effort to bring this dead weight on a trip considering the its ultimate performance.
2. For[...] (I am not happy even though I also got the $10 rebate) you are essentially getting a weak amplifier attached to two tinny speakers. While the sound is clear, there is very little bass thus making the whole thing seem just so-so. When I think of all the sophisticated electronic products (i.e. radios and boom boxes) that I could buy for[...] dollars I feel like someone just picked my pocket. Not only does the Creative TravelSound 200 sound tinny but you would be hard pressed to hear much sound if you tried to sit down too far away from its speakers.
3. Creative claims that the TravelSound 200 has a audio normalizer and wide stereo effect, but pushing these buttons reminded me of the buttons they used to put on street corner
traffic lights -- you pushed them but all they did is make you think your wait was shorter. In the end it took the same amount of time for the light to change whether you pressed the button or not. Needless to say I hardly noticed any sound change with or without these features engaged.
If Creative had priced this little speaker toy for say [...] it might be worth a try, but at [...] I think you can get more enjoyment from a pass book savings account.
9 This was way above expectations!
All I can say is...WOW!! We bought this for our Pogo Rip Drive so we could travel with it and the sound quality is EXCELLENT!! The unit is compact, highly portable and even came with the batteries which is rare these days. This is a great buy if you're in the market for some portable speakers with crystal clear clarity!
