1 price AND performance
I've used Epson's Premium Glossy, Colorlife and Heavyweight Matte. The Matte is far cheaper and gives beautiful results. I've actually found that I like the Matte best for framing. It has a less reflective surface and looks more 'arty' than photographic. But I wouldn't recommend it for architectural, detailed photographs. A good benefit of both the Matte and Colorlife is that they have the longest rated life without fading of any paper for use with Epson's dye based printers.
2 Best for presentation/graphic printout
Epson makes great printer papers. I use Epson's matte paper almost as much as the regular inkjet paper. This paper is made for color presentation and graphic. I print out my portfolio and sample work with matte paper because it is relatively cheap to the high quality printout. I use the Epson 820 and the color print matches the monitor colors (98%) almost perfect.
For photo prints it is fine, but photos are simultaneous with glossy texture. If you like glossy photo then this is not the photo paper you would get. The colors do not jump at you nor have sharp deferential qualities that glossy can produce. Printing plain texts without color might be too wasteful (costly) for matte paper. I considered Epson the best in paper qualities over Canon, HP, Kodak and others for the quality/price. I have switched to the Canon i960 and am still using Epson's paper. It is that versatile. I tend to use the harder to find Epson double-side matte paper.
3 Just like a real photograph
I use this paper with an Epson Photo 960 using the "Premium glossy Photo Paper" option. It prints photos as nice as any Ive seen printed. These are great looking photos. Now if they could do something about the price.
4 Erroneous description
I found this paper on Amazon as an accessory to the Olympus Camedia P-400 Printer. This paper does NOT fit the P-400 because this paper is TOO wide. Thus, with the P-400, this paper is useless.
5 Great Paper for Canon s820
I have a Canon S820 photo printer (2400X1200 dpi) and a Canon Powershot A40 2mp digital camera (1600 X 1200 max resolution). I bought a package of 120 8 1/2 X 11 Epson Glossy Photo Paper ... on 17-Jul-03. What a great deal, and the prints are excellent coming out of the Canon printer. I was a bit hesitant at first with the brand crossing, but I read a couple reviews here that said they work great with the Canon S800 printer so I took a chance... Super impressed and highly recommend for any Epson printers (which should work fine, I'm sure), or the Canon S820.
6 Just like "real" photos
If it had a faint logo on the back like real photo paper no one would know the difference! This paper and the Epson Stylus Photo 960 are an excellent combination.
7 Best paper for me
I've tried several different kinds of photo paper, and this has consistently been the best for me. CompUSA brand paper yellows within a couple weeks. Kodak paper does not absorb the ink well, making the prints stick to the album pages. There's another brand which I forget the name of that was alright, but had some yellowing. This Epson paper absorbs ink well and does not stick to the album. Top marks!

9 Awesome Photo Paper

I recently bought an EPSON 825. I also bought all kinds of different papers. I can tell you this paper is the best of any I tried.
It does an excellent job of capturing the colors and the price is great compared to a kiosk. I showed some of the prints to friends and they didn?t know until I told them that they didn?t come from a photo processor.
The other thing that is great about the borderless paper is NO CUTTING! The kiosks I use make me pay [$$$] a print and then make me trim the print!
The only other paper the comes close is the Kodak Premium Picture Paper (High Gloss).

11 The Best Photo Paper
I have been taking digital pictures for several years now and have tried dozens of kinds of paper and NONE do the job like the Epson Premium Glossy Paper. You can not tell by looking that the picture was not printed by a professional. You may pay a little more for Epson but it is worth it, why take a fantastic picture and print it and be disappointed. I highly recommend spending the extra money and using the best. Anytime I try another brand I end up throwing the photo away.
12 Great Paper, Great for Giving

All that being said, it is good paper and my machines prints well on it. They make great prints for giving to others who want 'copies' of your pictures.

The difference between matte and glassy paper is important to note. Glossy is exactly what it sounds like, it's shiny paper like the kind they use for your 5x7 prints. Matte paper is flat, not shiny. It doesn't reflect and is great for large pictures.

MATTE WAS MY PREFERENCE IN TRADITIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY:
It has always been my preference to have pictures done on a matte medium. While using traditional pictures especially if you like I did switched to the APS format, you could no longer get a matte finish. Since I have gone digital, the only papers, that I have seen have been glossy, so this was a pleasant surprise.
A CO-WORKER WHO IS ALSO A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, INTRODUCED ME TO THIS PAPER:
Knowing I used many reams of paper in glossy prints but really liked matte, a co-worker told me of this matte finish ink jet paper and showed me a photo he had done. Wow! He had the Epson 890 like I did, so I had to run out and get some of this amazing paper. His daughter in the photo, was wearing a red dress and it was amazing in depth of color.
MY TEST SHOTS WERE PHENOMENAL:
I was not dissappointed in the results. Though I have used it only on a couple of shots (I consider my test shots), I was amazed at the crispness of the photo. Only time will tell how well it lasts. I plan to subject some to the ultimate test (for me) hung on my office wall without a frame. I'll write back and tell you how it did.
NO GLARE MEANS THE PICTURE JUMPS RIGHT OUT AT YOU:
What I particularly like about matte pictures is the lack of glare. You don't have to get the right angle to view it. Also there is almost a 3D effect since you don't see the surface of the paper to make it flat. That is really nice.
MATTE IS CHEAPER THAN GLOSSY:
Matte paper at 50 pages per sheet cost also about the same of 20 sheets of glossy paper.. That too is a good thing.
16 Great paper that works well in my Canon S800
I have been using this paper for some time now with my Canon S800 photo inkjet printer, with excellent results. Colors are bright and realistic, without any banding, bleed or artifacts introduced by the paper. For some photos, the matte finish is actually superior to glossy because it gives the illusion of greater depth and color intensity.
So in sum, if you do not require glossy paper for your application, save yourself a bundle of $$ and try this paper out. I was pleasantly surprised with the results; and it offers a great result with a low cost per page.
17 My Favorite Paper
I use this paper almost exclusively for printing display-quality black-and-white photos on my Epson Stylus printer. Don't ask me about color, I don't know about color. But I find that this paper works great 3-hole punched in a binder and/or bound as a photo booklet. It is sturdy, heavy-stock paper, with a rich matte finish, at a great price, that prints at "Photo Quality." Do what I do: buy several boxes at a time.

Believe me paper matters. When you put the wrong paper in your printer, you get very weird results.

REVIEW IS BASED ON USE ON THE EPSON 890:
When I bought my Epson 890, I bought several different packs of Epson paper, this 8.5 X 11 one and some 4 X 6 sheets as well as the roll paper. See my separate reviews on the others items (including the printer) also on this site, if you are interested in them. However, finally, I got around to trying the 8.5 X 11 paper. You see you wait until you have the perfect picture to do an enlargement.
NICE QUALITY IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT USES
It did not dissappoint. Wow, the colors were great. I took several types of pictures and different lighting and the result were great. Now that I've tried it I'm hooked. People who have seen the pictures first of all can't believe they are off an inkjet printer. Then they marvel at the color and sharpness of the photo.
PAPER AND PRINTER INTERATION:
One caution, those of you that think you can use any paper on any printer... Forget it. I had some paper from another supplier and when I used it on the Epson, the ghostly images were terrible. It seems not surprisingly that the printers are optimized for their papers. And to be honest, it is not worth the money to me to try a bunch of other manufacturer's paper only to find out the results would be bad.
EASIER TO FIND ON THE WEB THAN IN THE STORES:
This paper is easier to find on the net. I have looked in my usual spots for this paper off the web and considering not only computer, office supply and grocery stores it is just not out there.

I've used this paper for 3 years now and it has NEVER let me down. I've used it on Epson Photo printer and now my Canon S800 printer and have wonderful, truly photograpic results with it. I use it to print wedding pictures for a photographer when I retouch or take digital photos for her and she is NEVER disappointed. Wonderful paper!
22 Best Photo Paper
When recently reproducing all my wedding photos, I tested numerous photo papers, from all different manufacturers. If you are looking for a glossy surface that rivals true photo lab prints, this is it. My relatives that received wedding photos on this paper had no idea they were inkjet prints.
I haven't had any problems with fading yet.
The only other paper I would equally recommend would be Epson's Premium Luster Photo Paper, which has the textured "luster" surface like photo lab "matte" prints. This paper is only sold in boxes of 50 sheets, but it is creates gorgeous results!
23 Not photographic paper, but great card stock
I was disappointed with this paper's quality, particularly when compared to the superb quality of Epson's glossy photographic paper. This paper does not produce realistic pictures at all.
Usage: While not necessarily a superb choice for matte photos, this paper does work wonderfully for printing desktop publishing documents (such as greeting cards, calendars, brochures, and other items printed on card stock).
Quality: It's consistency doesn't really offer a matte photograph appearance, even though the glossy paper from Epson DOES offer a glossy appearance.
Color: I've noticed that some packages are off-white, slightly tan/beige/yellow rather than white. It's kind of hit-or-miss as to whether you get the white or the off-colored paper. I've gotten the off-colored paper 2 out of 7 purchases.
(I use the Stylus Photo 870 to print)
24 The second best computer photo paper
Until a few months ago, this was by far the best quality paper available for printing photos with a good photo printer, such as the Epson Stylus Photo 870. Print contrast, brightness, resolution, and color saturation, are excellent. The paper also works very well with black and white photographs. The blacks are remarkably deep and rich. Epson warns purchasers that the prints made with this paper are not as permanent as those made with conventional photographic papers, and it is important to protect the finished prints by putting them in albums or frames, and of course they must be kept away from direct sunlight. But Epson has now upstaged this paper with the new Epson ColorLife Paper. ColorLife is a semigloss paper that is generally superior to Premium Glossy, in terms of color saturaton and fine detail. And ColorLife is said to be much more resistant to fading.
25 Quality Heavy Matte Paper
Excellent medium for projects that involve text and color graphics such as clip art or photo inserts, patterned borders, and greeting cards. I use this paper in an Epson 780, and the results are very satisfying. I suggest that the maximum resolution setting for this medium be set at 1440 dpi anything higher should be printed on photo paper.

27 Did A Little Test..
I had heard that this paper faded when left out in the air so I tested it in my office. Within 1 month it was very yellow. I love the Epson Stylus Photo printers and the Heavyweight matte paper, but if you are exposing your prints to light even under a frame, I would not buy this paper.

GREAT FOR SINGLE SHOTS ON PRINTER This product is especially good for one or two photos that you want to print out. For more than that at one time, if your printer can use it, I would recommend the roll paper, as it prints faster since it doesn't have to cue up the individual sheets. I haven't yet used the 4 up paper that places 4 pictures on an 8X10 yet so I can't speak for that. I would imagine like the roll paper, you can make faster prints than 1 at a time.
EPSON PRINTER MUST BE OPTIMIZED FOR EPSON PRODUCTS Epson optimized their printer to work best with their product however, I never realized how much different it would look. Side by side I ran copies on this paper and a competitor's paper on my printer.The difference was amazing
-The Epson paper print was crisp clear and looked like a standard silver halide photo.
-The competitor's paper print, looked cartoonish. The colors were not set right and the sheen was all weird looking.
Given they were the same shot, the same ink, it was surprising how much difference paper would make. If you have an Epson printer and you want to see what all the hoopla is about, make sure to use Epson paper.
BE SURE YOU CAN USE THE BORDERLESS FEATURE TO GET TRUE 4x6 PRINTS Not all printers can handle borderless prints, so be sure you have one that can, if you want to make a 4X6 size print. If not, you can get the other Epson product that has perforations, that reduce the print down to 4X6. Same great quality, while compensating for the printer you have.
Given the price and convenience, this is a nice little batch of paper.

30 Urban legends... color fading.
Multiple forums have postings with a very similar tone: "there have been numerous reports of color deterioration, usually (insert color here) after several weeks". Well folks, having used up 20 packages of this paper, I can only offer one comment: bunk. The paper, ink and color quality are superb. Pictures I have hung on the wall look the same as they did a year ago. People can NOT tell they are from an inkjet printer and assume they are from a photo lab. This is great paper. Just use Epson cartridges. I am shooting 2.4M photos from an Olympus 2500 and the results on an Epson 870 with this paper are nothing short of spectacular.
31 Great prints, but risky
This paper produces outstanding prints with Epson Photo printers, but there have been numerous reports that the images tend to turn orange over a fairly short time; supposedly, Epson's cyan ink reacts with atmospheric ozone when printed on this paper.
Epson is aware of this problem, and is working on a more stable version of this paper. They are also quietly accepting returns of printers and media from customers complaining about the orange-shift effect.
I've used this paper a bit, and haven't noticed any problems yet, but your mileage may vary.
32 This is where the photo quality is at.
Epson should really come up with an Ad Campaign that says, "Paper matters." Because if you've ever owned an Epson with photo-realistic capabilities and tried this paper, you'd know what I mean.
This stuff is incredible. It's honestly almost impossible to distinguish between prints made on this paper and the photo glossy paper and actual photographs. Incredible.
I've experienced no fading problems so far, and I treat my photos like any user would (ie: throw them on the desk and sorta forget about them until I clean).
33 A Great Photo Paper
As a professional photographer, I've tested many different types of paper and Epson's Premium Line is by far the best. Everyone who sees the results (printed on the Epson 870/1270) can't believe it. The look and feel is the same as a photograph. The only way you'd know it was printed on an inkjet is by looking at the back to see the 'Epson' watermark.
Epson also produces the Premium Luster (an "E" surface or matte paper) and Premium Semi-Gloss Papers. They are all great papers, but the Premium Glossy affords the most contrast (which is to be expected from a glossy paper).
To lenghten this paper's longevity we reccomend displaying behind glass or keeping the prints in sheet protectors where the print doesn't have contact with the air. Under those conditions it will last a long time without a noticeable change--probably years, if not longer, according to Epson
34 Great Photos on Great Paper
I have been doing 35mm photography for more than 20 years. This paper produces better color than 8 X 10's from the local photofinisher. Colors pop, white is really white and detail is very good.
Epson also makes a slightly lower grade glossy paper: use it or other "lightweight" brands for proofs or "first tries." Once you have your software and printer producing what you want, make your final copies (the ones you want to frame) on this paper.
35 Great Paper
I have used this paper with several Epson printers and I must say that I was amazed every time I use it. Once you set your printer to print pictures no other, paper will do if you want truly photographic quality pictures. The paper itself if of very high quality and feels and looks just like the paper you get from the photo development store. I would recommend this paper very much if you want to print photos at home in very high quality.
36 The Best Paper for Photographs
This paper is THE paper to use if you want to print photos that look exactly like real photos from you Epson 1270, 870 printers! I haven't found a lower price than here.
37 Excellent printing media
Just bought an Epson Stylus 1270 and a couple of Epson Heavyweight Matte Paper packages, definetly a great couple. Inks dries very fast. Colors reproduction is astonishing, great contrast and color saturation.
38 FINE ART PAPER
Anyone thinking about using an inkjet printer for photography must try this paper. I do fine art photography and my own darkroom work in medium format. I just purchased the Epson 1270 printer and have been using this heavy weight paper with eye opening results. This paper is pure white and used with the new inks in the 870 and 1270 printers has a fade resistant life of over 26 years. This paper has the look of a fine art Ilford or Kodak N surface...And best of all ..the price is hard to beat !
