Fujifilm NX-70 Digital Printer

Fujifilm offers its NX-70 the ideal printer for high-resolution megapixel cameras. It features clean, economical and environmentally friendly printing with Fujifilm's original TA paper. It has a video output for displaying images on a TV monitor, multiple output on sticker sheets for extra fun or business applications and 20-sheet (10-sheet for sticker paper) paper cassette for fast and easy printing.

For digital photography enthusiasts, Fuji offers the NX-70 digital printer, designed specifically for high-resolution digital cameras. Whether or not you use a computer or a film scanner, you can transfer data to the printer directly, preview your photos on your television, or insert the digital "film" card into your PC for editing, cropping, and other enhancements.

Although the Fuji NX-70 is a desktop printer fashioned to be a companion to PCs, it can print images directly from your digital camera without the use of a computer. Directly transfer data from 2, 4, 8, and 16 MB SmartMedia cards, or use other options, like the floppy disk adapter, to transfer images to your PC before printing. Either way, you'll appreciate the ability to print multiple images on one sheet of photo paper, choosing among several different configurations, including index prints and zoom.

Printing at two minutes per page and accommodating paper sizes to 4 by 6 inches, the NX-70 prints wallet-size photos and the photo stickers currently popular with kids. Fuji relies on thermo-autochrome printing for crisp, vivid images in resolutions of 306 dpi and 16.7 million colors.

The NX-70 runs on a high-performance RISC processor and employs heat to print on photo paper rather than using messy inks, toners, or ribbons. The High-Chroma processing system converts all of your digital camera's RGB data to YMC data. Every pixel gets mapped, enhancing color reproduction. Compact and light, measuring approximately 11 by 11 by 3 inches and weighing 6 pounds, the NX-70 easily fits into most every home or office. Even though the printer specs do not include Smart Media cardsabove 16MB, I had no problems reading a 32 MB card. You must have a TV plugged in in order to operate the unit. The prints turned out very well. I found that if I wanted to edit the prints (size and color) on my PC them place them back on my Smart Media card, I could improve the printing significantly. I find the media a bit expensive, but for a low cost printer that will be used for an occasional photo quality print, it is worth having it.
