1 terrible service
My wife and I wasted hours and hours trying to get HP service. HP has outsourced customer service to several developing countries, and each time we called, the representatives were unable to locate the record of our previous call. We were told time and again that we would be contacted by a "case manager" but that never happened. After weeks of trying, it became obvious that we need to discard the product (still under warrantee) and buy a new (non-HP) product ourselves.
2 Exactly what I needed!
I am a senior software developer at a healthcare IT company. Our customers requested a specific type of report which needed to be printed on 11x17 paper. We had no such printer in-house.
I did some research, found this printer at HP, ordered it from
Amazon and had it in my hands in 2 days. It took about 20 minutes to hook up and I had my 11x17 report which I can now forward on to my customers. The service was incredible and the printer is perfect for my needs!
3 Excellent Value
Not the best printer on the planet, but definitely a good value. I don't need a color laser or a photo printer, so it works for me.
Print quality is good for schematics, drafting, and other vector based images. Much better than a more expensive Cannon that I am replacing. I haven't tried it on any raster images, and probably never will. I also have no idea what kind of photo printing capabilities it has, because I just don't care.
Setup is very easy, it took me a total of a half hour to unpack the printer, assemble it, run cords, install the drivers on the host PC (which has the same speed processor as the printer), and install the drivers on another PC, and have the whole thing networked. Everything worked fine right out of the box on the first try.
4 Stop! Don't buy this Printer!
I got this printer for large format printing. What I got was a large format headache. I spent an entire day trying to install this following all the instructions, I even called HP and they couldn't help me. I was using all the specified equipment, however one thing they didn't warn me about was you cannort share this printer without the additional purchase of the HP network server. After boxing this up for return I also noticed that this printer had already been returned once. It had two packing slip pouches, mine and someone else's. Bottom line - DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP PRINTER!! It cost me a day of work and all the shipping charges.
5 Stay away from this printer!!!
I needed a large format printer for my small business, so I got online and reviewed seveal hp printers, and I "chatted" with one of their online reps. I was told this was the best printer for my needs. Little did I know that in order to use it I would have to redo my entire network setup. Well, after a full day of trying everything they told me to do, I am MORE than happy to PAY TO SHIP IT BACK!!!
DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP PRINTER!!
6 Don't ever buy this printer
I wanted a large format printer and so i was deciding between Canon, Epson and Hp. Finally, i decided to go with Hp, since i was using Hp officejet v40 all-in-one for about 3 years with no problem. I got Hp 9300 about 40 days back and suddenly today it stopped working. I just took 4 printouts in last 40 days and that it...I called the customer service and reported about the problem. According to them that printer was no longer going to work and i have to pay from my own pocket to ship it to california where they would repair it and send it back.
If you have a choice don't go for this printer. You will end up getting frustrated like i am now.
7 Exceptional Printing Quality
Pro: The printing quality is exceptional. Better than any other deskjet printer I have tried. Especially if you set the quality mode to "best". Comes with "myPrintMileage" that keeps track of the printer usage and helps you plan the purchase of ink. ***Supports 13x19 paper size***.
Extremely easy to install.Took me 5 mins to set it up, and start printing on both Win XP and 2000 machine.
Cons: If you are printing "Best" the printing process is kinda slow. A full-colored 11x17 image took 1.25 mins to print.
Overall: An exceptional printers for the best price. I would highly recommend it. The very best printing quality.
