1 Good for beginners
I spent around $50 on this camera & it served it's purpose. It takes nice pictures in the right light & the camera software is nice too. If you just take pictures for fun, you'll enjoy this camera. There is also a small movie option, no sound & it runs about 30 seconds I think. When I tried to send this to family & friends, all I did was drag the movie file (in the uploaded software) into my outlook express... that is the easiest way I found it worked.
Here are some pictures that I took with the camera :O)
http://photobucket.com/albums/v48/hiltonqueen/
Although, it does have some downsides:

*Eats up batteries
*Doesn't take very good close ups
*There is a long delay after you push the button for your picture, Takes some work to make a toddler stand still long enough.
*And, you can only get about 9 to 14 quality pictures before you have to upload & empty to take more pictures again.

I just bought a new camera & I'll be selling mine on here soon at a cheap price, if you are interested, email me at hiltonqueen@iwon.com

Thanks
2 HP PS120 1.0MP Digital Camera Review
Including a lens cap would have been useful. It is very easy to scratch the exposed lens surface. The LCD is weak but the camera makes decent pictures. I bought it for my son's second digital camera (he was six at the time) and he loves it. Now we need a CF card to hold more images between shooting and downloading.
3 This camera ..
Bought this camera in about 3 months ago for around $5o; I guess the pictures are okay especially when there's adequate lighting (such as outdoors). The flash totally washes the pictures out (wouldn't recommend using unless it was really dark). LCD screen is small but it works. Unfortunately the camera is already defective - it only turns on half the time even with new batteries, but what do you expect for $5o.
4 The best 1 MP camera on the Market!
This Camera is AWESOME for a begginer digital Photographer and for kids. It has a bright LCD screen, many wonderful features, and awesome picture quality. The ACDsee system works quite well and the HP share to Web software is Excellent. This Camera is good for indoor and outdoor use. Also comes with a video recording system that-on the internal Memory-you can take 30 second videos WITHOUT sound. There is an SD memory card slot and many more features. GREAT VALUE!
5 its digital
I love taking pictures, it's well, you could say it's my hobby. Digital cameras are great because you can take millions of pictures and only pick out the few good ones. With this camera it really is few. Another thing is the late shot. This is definatly not one of those once in a life-time shot cameras, this is more of a, honey could you do that again? camera's because it takes three seconds to shoot after you push the button. It takes ok movies but they're choppy and have no sound. This is a good camera though and wouldn't betray it. But if you're looking for a camera with good, crisp pictures don't get this, this is a first-timers camera. Although i do admit, i have very much fun taking pictures of beautiful things with it. Really this is a 3 1/2 star camera.
6 Nice camera for price
I am impressed how easy it is to use this camera. It uploads pictures very fast to my computer and color is good. Only minor complaint is the LCD screen is a bit small and washed out.
I bought it on sale and good value.
7 A good deal
This camera meets my needs perfectly. I wanted something that took decent pictures, but didn't take a bank loan to buy. Actually it does more that I thought it would. So what, if it is a discontinued model.
8 Exactly what I was looking for
I love this little camera!!! It's very practic to transport and it's very easy to operate. Pictures are really good and, although I can't storage more than 12 in high resolution, I knew it before buying it, so it is not a problem.
Excelent product.
9 Excellent Value for Money
This is my first digital camera and I'm very pleasantly surprised at the quality it delivers. At Amazon's price you can't get a deal on digital cameras that gives you better value for money. The pictures are big and clear...especially in sunlight...so if you're not a professional photographer...the quality is more than adequate. The bad bits: 2x digital zoom means you have to keep moving forward and backward to adjust your picture's composition. I'd have liked optical zoom...but what was I expecting buying a point and shoot camera at this price? I'm fine with the small LCD display. I care more about the pictures. You'll need to be savvy with the camera controls to get best results...but overall its a great deal. Way to go Amazon and HP!
10 almost picture perfect
This is my first digital camera, so I only have experience with film cameras. This is a great camera! It is easy to take pictures, except in real low light. I accidentily found out that it takes videos too. I find that some of the videos are a little grainy, but still worth keeping. It is real easy to download the pictures to a computer, and with the software included, you can make great cards or calendars. It is real easy to get memory cards for it. I was amazed at the great price on Amazon.com, at least $$ cheaper than at the stores.
11 This is a great digital camera for everyday pic's
We received this camera free with our HP computer. We love this camera. It takes great pictures outside. I will agree with another reviewer the flash washes you out inside. I either turn it off or go farther back and hit the zoom button. I like the video feature, but there is no sound, the videos look like ones from the 50's. It's kinda cool, the old fashioned look. Just don't take too long of videos, then you can't email them. I bought the 128mb card, and can take 418 pictures. The only thing I would recommend is rechargable batteries. I bought the special batteries for high tech devices, we used the camera not even one whole day and the batteries were dead. We are so impressed every time we upload our pictures how nice they look. Since we are so addicted to using a digital camera and we love the HP, we're going to get the nicer model now and keep this one for the kids. It's so easy. Someone we knew let us use another digital camera, a Kodak, and the camera never worked right for us, it would never hold a charge, it was such a pain to learn how to use it. The HP you just point and shoot. I highly recommend this digital camera. The software you get with it is very easy to use as well.
12 Really Great Camera for Beginner
This is my 1st experience with a digtal camera.
I wanted an inexpensive one to start with.
Had pictures taken and printed within 1/2 hour, very easy to use and understand. Pictures look great for a novice photographer and am very pleased with it. Software is very easy to use and already emailed pictures out which lower the KB for quick downloads for Modem users.
Would recommend for beginners......
13 excellent purchase for price
I bought this camera based on the reviews posted and the price. This is a good camera for a novice like myself in digital photography. The layout of the camera is easily understood only the LCD display is somewhat small and sometimes hard to see.I have uploaded some photos I took to my pc using the 3 settings of the camera and all in all it came out pretty good.If you are looking for your first digital camera, for the price,I would recommend it.You would need to purchase a flash card though as the 4mb memory is used up very quickly.
14 Great !! LOVE IT !
I am so happy with my camera !!!!
If you want a digital camera for vacation, family pictures, casual photos, this camera was made for you. (sounds like an HP commercial)
I bought this camera expecting a good camera, that would be able to give me good pictures, so far it's more than what I expected. The camera is GREAT, and the image quality is GREAT.
I loved the video clip function.
I've had it for about 1 week, and the battery is still full.
The LCD screen is really small, it is the width of your thumb. But you can see the pictures good. (not in the sun light though)
The camera is easy to use, the menus are easy, the flash is great (although I haven't really used it yet), the zoom is good too.
Just wish it would have a case to protect the lcd screen.
And also I bought a 128MB memory card....oh my God ! GREAT PICTURES, GREAT CAMERA, and GREAT PRICE.
(If you want profissional photos, this is not the one for you)
15 Great Inexpensive camera
This is a great camera for beginning digital photographers. Images look good with good lighting, camera is sometimes picky. I'd recommend Ni-MH recharagable batteries which will save you lots of money in the long run. Definately get a CompactFlash card and card reader. These will help you hold many more images and download those images much more quickly and easily. My 128 MB card will hold 420 pictures at best quality. Overall a good camera for those not too picky about intricate photo details...
16 The only company which charges for the driver!!
Too many cons, so few pros:
1) Very slow "bootup"
2) You cannot take photos from a moving car. It complains that that image has to stabilize. (I want to take a picture when Iam ready, not when the camera thinks Iam ready)
3) No lens cover
4) Lastly, and most importantly, HP is now charging for their drivers. The only company which charges ...for the driver, in case you lose the CD which comes with the camera!! I think this is outrageous. I can only hope other companies dont follow this example.

Trust me, you can find a better product for the same price.

17 Nice!
Very nice digital camera for the price. Nice image quality (for under a hundred bucks). The user options are easy to use and it's easy to upload images to your computer.

However, like most digital cameras, it eats batteries like no other. Unless you want to buy new batteries every 30 pictures, rechargable batteries (four AAs) and a recharger are very much necessary. i got Quest batteries and a recharger for about fifteen bucks and have recharged them about 5 times already over about 3 months.

The flash is sometimes too bright- make sure you're standing at least arm's length if not more away from the subject or turn the flash off. The self-timer is also very nice for this if you are taking a self-photo with the flash, because simply holding the camera arms length away will wash out your face completely.

A memory card is also highly recommended- at the lowest quality only 54 images fit. Medium fits 19, and high 12.

However, i'm really being picky. This is a great camera for trips (with a recharger and a nearby computer to unload images if you run out of room), a webcam, beginner's photography, and even a family camera. If you're looking for your first digital camera or a webcam for a nice price, this one is what you're looking for.

18 My experience with this camera...
The camera if held absolutely *still* can take a decent picture, but close ups, forget it. This is not a 'close-up-loving' digital. The flash washes out many pictures. It is VERY slow to take pictures. It has about a 5 second delay between pictures taken without a flash, and a 20 to 30 second delay between pictures taken with the flash. It sucks battery power like mad if you take any video (no sound) with it. The videos are extremly grain and small.

If you want a camera to play around with, to drag everywhere you go, like i do, then this isn't too bad, but it's slowness is fustrating. I use normal rechargable batteries in mine because I don't care if it fries it. The LCD screen is hard to see at times. My advice?: if someone gives it to you or you get a good deal on one and are desparate, take it. Otherwise, save your money and buy something that can take a close up, doesn't suck battery power like air, doesn't wash out your subject with the flash, and doesn't take a millenium to set back up again between shots. The fustration level at missing pix over and over again gets old fast.

19 Great camera for the price
I'm an experienced digital photographer with a Nikon 990 for my personal use. I bought two of these for my grandgirls and was amazed at the quality and ease of use.

1 megapixel quality is quite good for prints up to 5x7, and are great for monitor viewing and email. The camera is easy to use, the only problem the 10 year old had was accidentally pressing the "quick time record" button instead of the shutter release. Easy to do since they are close to each other. It doesn't have optical zoom, but hey it cost a hundred bucks. I added 10 meg of flash card memory which was a nice addition, particularly since I use a flash card reader. The included software seemed ok, with editing capability email sizing and easy install and photo downloading.

20 it rules
muahahha, i got this camera as a gift, and it rules.its nice, quick and easy and fun, and the batteries dont die down fast.i recommend it =D
21 Good Camera for young people.
I bought this camera for 9 year old twin girls, Julia and Christine. It works well, took good pictures for the price and was easy to use. The software loaded easily and the usb port loaded pictures quickly. Julia figured out how to use the movie function, and took a nice 2 minute movie. This was purchased with extra memory, and will take 150 pictures with good quality. It is not a 300 dollar camera, but is more than enough for most situations, providing a reasonable quality for a reasonable price.
22 Not a pleasant digital camera experience.
I purchased this camera as a gift for my husband and haven't successfully made and downloaded any pics in the 2 years we've owned it. We did not receive responsive product support, couldn't integrate it with our pc and spent money on flash cards to no avail. Simply, without product support this has been a little silver dustcatcher. I've used the Sony Mavica FD-something or other and despite the substantial cost difference, it has been the better bargain due to capacity, versatility and price of floppies cf. to flash cards. A disappointing experience from a company which was once found to be excellent.
23 Great Camera Try it,and you'll buy it
In South Africa with the exchange rate against the Dollar being almost 10 to 1 electronics can be very expensive especially digital cameras. When I saw the PS120 I was drawn to all the features and price. The Mac software is good but does not work on 9.2.2. and the HP web site has no updates, I use Mac OSX software instead (pretty cool).
For starters it's a fun camera I take pics of everything and then burn VCD's with VCD BUILDER Software (freeware MAC OSX) and watch the slideshow on TV through my DVD Player . Fantastic. For an entry level camera you have all the features lcd,usb 2.0,flash and major storage 120megs CF.
24 Not terrific quality, but ok for the price
I am spoiled by an Olympus that takes 3 megapixel images, but couldn't afford the price, so picked up this HP for about [money]. The images are ok. My biggest complaint is the total washout that happens with flash pictures. It is not good at all for anything closer than 10 feet. Total white out, as if the flash is too powerful, yet the images are dark at more than 15 feet.

Good for outdoors. The video clip is fun, but not very useful, and the image is pretty grainy.

Good for a beginner, or someone who doesn't know how good a digital camera CAN be.

25 I am not a eletronic wiz kid !!!
We got this 3 days before we left on our VC on our first cruise....so we had no idea how good it would do. We also took our regular camera along just incase....I bought a 32mb smartcard..so we could take lots of pixs...we were able to take over 100 pictures and we put batteries in the camera before we left home and never had to change the batteries our entire trip...the only problem was when out in the sunlight you could not see your LCD screen very well, so i just looked thru the view finder and snaped away...we really werent sure what we were getting.....but they are beautiful..all 100 turned out great....I was so happy with the results....best buy we have ever made and it was so easy to operate..I highly recommend this product....it was better then I ever could have hoped for , especailly for the price...thks Sheryl
26 Decent value
This is the second inexpensive HP camera I have used.
For still shots, the image quality is adequate to make moderate enlargements. Color saturation and hue are natural. The controls are simple and, if not intuitive, easily mastered. The included software manipulates photos adequately, but buyers should not expect too much digital magic. I like the HP drag and drop folder that automatically loads images to any of several pre-specified Internet sites for album sharing or ordering prints.
I do have complaints, but they are minor considering the price of the camera:
The quality of the avi video clips is low. Do not expect anything like camcorder images...more like Thomas Edison's first attempt.
The flash is finicky about distance--9' is the recommended maximum, but it washes out images closer than about 4'.
There is no protective lens cap. Clear glass protects the actual lens, but that cover is flush with camera case--too easy to smudge or scratch.
The fixed focus lens does not allow anything like a closeup. Of course, in some cases adequate images can be obtained by photographing at a high quality setting and then cropping the image with software.
Overall, the camera delivers good value.
27 Easy to use ! Reasonable price!
The camera is really easy to use, light weight and the resolution is not bad for a 1MP camera. The price is reasonable, a good deal for such a piece of equipment. The internal memory is not big enough to store a number of images I needed, so I needed to buy a 64MB flash card. After that, it was possible to fully utilize the potential of the camera: take pictures with the best resolution."Lastly, if you plan on using your digital camera on a long weekend or week long vacation, you will definitely need to consider purchasing a larger flash card."
28 Nice for the price
I own several cameras and had been casually looking at digital cameras for some time. My sense was that they are all much too expensive for their performance and that anything on the market today will be obsolete in a month. I picked up this camera as a close-out floor model for a very, very low price--- less than a quarter of list. I have found it to be a nice, convenient email photo camera with simple, easy-to-master controls. It's great for all those casual photos I don't want to spend a lot of effort or any money on. Limitations: slow action, LCD very hard to see in sunlight, and closeups are pretty much impossible, which was the biggest disappointment but not a huge surprise. I am very pleased with the camera at the price I paid, but I will stick with my Nikon SLR for quality shots. Judging from the reviews I have seen of even very high end digital cameras, the technology has quite a ways to go before I'm willing to invest much money in it.
29 A great gift
The HP 120 is a great buy for the, once in a while weekend warriors, or the novice photographer. The 120 has a very user friendly menu guide and the included software is easy to install and easy to use. Price/Value ratio is very pleasing. (For sharper pics use the flash.)
30 I would give it ZERO stars if I could
This camera may have the HP label, but it certainly does not adhere to their usual quality consumer device. The camera is very slow with a poor quality LCD screen. The user interface is not intuitive and can be quite confusing. Button placement is questionable, with the capture video button directly next to the shutter button. Too easily the shot or video can be missed. Image quality is a joke. The images produce far too much noise and color representation looks to 'cartoonlike' and unnatural. This camera produce images that may be able to compete with a sub-par VGA camera. The sensor in the camera is the problem. I would search hard to find out what company's sensor is in the camera and make sure I NEVER buy a camera with their sensor inside.
My recommendation is to save your money and buy another brand of camera. Do your homework.
31 GREAT Digital Camera!
I dunno what kinda HP camera that other reviewer bought, but mine works like a dream. I had an old Argus [$$$] one and it basically is too picky on the lighting for my needs. I needed a flash, an inexpensive price, and optionally, an LCD. This camera gave me all of the above. The LCD is small, but it doesn't need to be all that big in the first place. It's USB 2.0 compatible, so you can plug it right to the computer. Another good thing about this camera and USB is the fact that the software included works directly with the camera to detect and automate the task of upload/view of images. Nice. Comes with ACDSee software for easy viewing/printing/sharing of images, plus gallery software if you do webpublishing. VERY nice. The digital zoom is nice, because you don't have to be close to an object to get a close representation. Quality is VERY good. Very little pixelation can be seen, and only if you scrutinize the picture.
With the base memory, you can get 54 pics at the lowest resolution which is still great quality. The LCD lets you zoom images, view up to 9 at once and pick one, and magnify. Also, you can take video VERY easily. With a 32 MB card, you can take up to 5 minutes of video. That is fantastic. This camera is a great value. Get it!
32 HP 120 Digital Camera is a poor camera a high price
I purchased this camera recently. We had an expensive digital camera that flaked and died. The HP120 was purchased as a replacement simply to take pictures of items to put [online]. This camera is worthless for this purpose. Photos do not just turn out blurred and grainy, they turn out unrecognizable. Items over 6 feet away photograph adequately. Anything within 4 feet, however, is useless.
