PhotoSmart 375 Photo Printer
1 Good value & performance
Easy to setup and use. Good quality pictures (hard to tell from regular prints). It takes about 1 minute per print. I haven't made enough pictures to know how long the cartridge will last. For taking digital photos and making 4x6" prints, its a great product.

2 Outstanding Results
Works as advertised. I had it out of the box and printing beautiful pictures in 10 minutes. This was the perfect gift for my non-technical wife who just wanted to push a button and get a picture.
3 Terrible service
My wife and I wasted hours and hours trying to get HP service. HP has outsourced customer service to several developing countries, and each time we called, the representatives were unable to locate the record of our previous call. We were told time and again that we would be contacted by a "case manager" but that never happened. After weeks of trying, it became obvious that we need to discard the product (still under warrantee) and buy a new (non-HP) product ourselves.
4 Totally Awesome!!
I decided I wanted a photo printer just for printing photos. Consumer Reports gave this printer the highest marks for photo quality so it caught my interest. When I looked closer I saw this model has the large-size photo preview screen and it accepts memory cards from all digital cameras. Now my friends and family can come to my house and print photos during parties and other events. It is so great to get the photos instantly from my camera and into my hands. This little printer sits on my kitchen counter at all times. The photo quality is amazing and it is so easy to use. What a winner!
5 I hit the Jackpot!
I really feel like I have hit the jackpot with this printer and I have only had it for 1 day. I love everything about it, and being able to add frames to pictures is a plus. I read lots and lots of online reviews before deciding on the HP printer and I made the right decision. I am going to a birthday party this weekend and can't wait to take lots of pictures and start printing!
6 Pretty Good but...
I like the convenience of this little printer and not having to download to print out digital photos. For some reason I get a lot of paper jams when I load a stack of paper. Could be operator error but I don't think so. It is a bit frustrating.
7 at home photo lab
My wife is a real critic of digital cameras and print outs. Until we got this printer she hated having the pictures we took with our digital camera printed out on our inkjet photo printer. We just had a baby and really got to use this printer. We did get a new digital camera (Sony 5.1mp) with this printer and when we got home for the hospital, I stuck in the 512meg memory stick and printed the pictures we wanted. She was absolutely amazed! She was able to pick the pictures she wanted and print them out, without having to go to the one-hour shop to have them printed. I read the review about how you can see the "ink jet spots" when you print using this printer and I can tell you that this isn't true. Maybe they are using a sub-par camera or cheap ink but when you print up a 5.1 mega pixel picture, WOW! The fact this prints out 4x6 pictures and there are no edges, except the edge you tear off, this is absolutely amazing!!! If you are looking for something easy to use and something that prints 4x6 photos and doesn't take up much desk space, this is what you are looking for!!! I would give this printer 10 stars if I could.
8 Not a bad little printer but quality is not quite there yet
I was using mostly outside labs to print from my xd media because the quality of prints was better than comparable printer. However it takes a long time to drive and drop off the prints etc... So I decided to buy this printer instead based on the reviews I read here.

However after using it for a couple of weeks and then comparing the prints one to one and also asking other people to compare the prints for me, I found that print quality of this printer although is not bad is not as good as what I would get if I use either Wolf camera or ofoto.com. For example using a "blind study" I asked 5 people to compare 4 different identical prints and all 5 people picked Wolf camera or Ritz as better. In addition, you can't print 5x7 or larger. My camera is panasonic Lumix.
9 Convenient, But Print Quality Not As Good As Others
I have been printing photos with ink jets for a few years now and am particular about the quality. I do expect that they should be darn close, if not as good as, photo lab quality.

I like the convenience of this printer: just slide in your memory card, select the photo on the screen and print - works very well. And, it's so small, you can easily plunk it on the kitchen table or take it with you.

However, the print quality just doesn't cut it. You can actually see the ink jet dots when you look at the prints. These are not pixelation dots from the camera, they are ink jet dots from the printer. If you hold the prints arms length away, you probably wouldn't notice... but given the promise that HP makes about this product and given that other printers actually do deliver on the "lab quality" promise, I would recommend going with another printer. I am going to return this one.

If you hold a print from this printer next to a print from the photo lab, the two don't even compare.

I suspect this problem is due to using a single 3 color ink cartridge. There is no black ink. There's one problem right there. This printer can't print black. It mixes the 3 colors to get a black-like color... hence the dots when you look closely (particularly in the dark areas).

When I first started using this printer, it also had light streaking lines across the page. That seemed to go away after a few days.
10 Perfect except for one unintuitive Mac thing
Quality is great, directions were easy to follow, and I love the small footprint. However, when I went to install the software (Mac OS X), it offered the usual "easy install" or "custom install" options. I wasn't interested in all the bells and whistles for sharing photos and doing editing; I just wanted the drivers, so I checked off that piece under Custom and avoided the rest. Well, to make a long story short, from what I can tell, you don't actually GET the drivers unless you do the Easy Install and let it load you up with all the cutesy extras. It would've been nice if there'd been some kind of alert box about that at the time of install. And I found no info about this on HP's support site.

Once I figured that out, I was very happy with the useability and speed. I'm psyched that the printer also functions as a card reader, so now I don't have to waste the batteries in my camera when I want to transfer the images to my computer.

I'm not sure about the functionality of the front USB port -- I was hoping it'd act like a hub, but nothing happened when I plugged my mouse in there. Maybe I missed it in the manual.
11 My Best Christmas Gift This Year
I asked for and received this little printer for Christmas this year and I am extremely pleased with it. Within minutes of opening the box, I was printing photos and wowing my family members. It was so fun that I found myself searching for photo ops just so I could print more pictures. What I love about this little printer is the LCD screen so that I can see what I am printing. Also, there are a few simple editing options such as removing red-eye, a must for me with two blue-eyed kids as the camera never takes out all of their red-eye. Another great thing about this printer is its portability and the fact that it doesn't have to be hooked to a computer. Although this printer is not as economical as having them done at WalMart, it is very fun and convenient to use. Instead of having the photos on your card for months because you keep forgetting to take it to WalMart, you can print the photos intstantly and then clear your card for more photos.
12 Better than most, but lots of minor problems
I'm an experienced photographer, and take lots of photos. The problem, according to my wife, is that I don't print enough of them, especially the ones SHE likes.

So I decided to buy her a small 4x6 photo printer. She doesn't want to learn Photoshop or anything like that. She just wants to press a button and get a photo.

I chose the HP 375 because it had a popup LCD screen to preview the shots. Obviously, she doesn't want to print every shot we take. The other printers I considered, Canon and Epson, did not have LCD screens.

On the whole, I'm pleased with the printer. The 4x6 photos come out with beautiful resolution and color. I compared some to ones I printed with my full-size Epson Photo 785EPX after a bit of adjustment with Photoshop, and thought the HP did a bang-up job. My wife just plugs the memory card into the printer and starts printing. There's no need to connect to the computer.

Furthermore, I found that it will print equally well on cheaper photo paper. I tried Kirkland (from Costco) and a box of Kodak paper that would not print well on my Epson printer.

On the downside: there are serious software issues, at least with our unit. It periodically freezes, and the only way to resume is with a hard reboot... basically unplugging it and starting from scratch. That's no fun when you're dealing with a 512 MB memory card. And lately, for no reason, after printing a photo, it asks whether we want to "deselect all photos." At no point, had we "selected" any photos except the one we were printing.

I explained the problems to HP via their "online tech support chat" which took forever to even load (using ActiveX). The only response before they ended the session was: "I understand." They even emailed me a transcript of the entire chat, which showed that they ended the session, it wasn't a glitch or online problem.

I then emailed info about the problems to their tech support folks via their "email us" option, and received a message that was filled with unusual sentence structures and bad grammar, leading me to believe it was either written by a robot or someone in a foreign country. Basically their response was to unplug the printer and reboot.

I find this to be an unsatisfactory way of dealing with what appears to be a software bug.

The cost per print, using HP supplies, is fairly steep. A box containing 125 sheets of 4x6 paper, and an ink cartridge costs about $45. I calculate that as 36-cents per print. The Epson is the only personal photo printer to advertise its price per print, claiming 29-cents. Again, I plan to use Kirkland photo paper to reduce our costs.

Bottom line: the photos look great, but they're expensive and there are irritating problems with the printer's software.
13 Great little printer!
I'm a pretty picky person when it comes to anything electronic since I'm a tech gizmo and deal with computers and digital accessories all day long on a daily basis. I scoured the web and printed media in order to get the best product for my money and something that would be easy for my wife to use and take on field trips and activities with our twin daughters. After all of that I decided on the HP Photosmart 375 and I'm glad I did. My wife loves it, I love it. The photos it prints are fantastic. I really don't have anything bad to say about it. I love the LCD screen and it's pretty straightforward to use as far as the buttons and menus go. I like the fact that it also accepts either USB connection (if you have the proper type camera that will sync with it) OR the different media cards. My wife feels more comfortable taking the card out and plugging it in to the card media port so she's happy. It's as far removed from a computer as you can get IMO and still gets the job done for folks who like convenience, portability and the ability to print pictures on the spot.
14 Great little thing!
Got this couple of weeks ago.Am very satisfied. It would be nice if the battery was included in the box,but that's extra.
The prints have come out nice and bright and vivid. The installation is a snap, and it's fun to have a little portable printer that I can wow my friends with when I hand them a photo I took of them about 60 seconds ago.I am using an SD card, and the printer read it just fine, and the tweaking ability included in the printer works fine as well.I'm sure I will be needing ink soon, but that's okay with me.I really love this little printer!
15 Awesome little printer got us printing pictures again...
This is by far one of the better purchases I feel I have made in recent years. My wife and I stopped using film about 5 years ago. We now have three kids and gigs upon gigs of pictures we have taken, and they all live on our computer. I don't think we have printed 2 dozen pictures in 5 years, until now. We print the pictures we like, when we take them. We still store everything on the computer, but now we actually have pictures again!
The quality is awesome. I mean, I'm not a photo expert or anything, but the only way I can tell the pictures I print from photo shop prints is by flipping the pics over to see they are on HP paper. We take it with us all the time. How many times has someone asked you for a copy of the picture you just took? How many times has that person actually gotten the picture? With this printer, we just say, "you got 90 seconds?", pop the memory card in and print, here's your copy.
Anyway, enough rambling...let's just say that if you like taking pictures and then actually having pictures to show, this is the best printer I have ever used for printing 4x6 pics.
16 Excellent photo printer choice
This is an excellent choice in photo printer if print quality is on your list of requirements for a 4x6 photo printer. It renders skins tones very, very well which can be a challenge for some printers (see Lexmark P315 review). The rate at which you can scroll through the pictures on an SD card is very quick. It uses a single ink cartridge which does not appear to be overpriced at this time. I already choose to use HP photo paper so I have no observations regarding alternative paper choices other than try not to use any that are less than 9 mils. I just bought this printer but am extremely pleased so far. It is brand new and I am unsure if I will find the battery feature useful yet. After testing the Lexmark P315 and being quite disatisfied with the results, the total costs of printing photos immediately became secondary. If you are very concerned about price and not about the photo, then try the lesser priced version of this printer.

A really superb printer. It makes the most beautiful prints I have ever seen, its fast, very easy to use and nice looking.
I had purchased the new Olymus Verve, could not get good prints on my HP 1350, was driving me a bit nuts.
Prints were poor.
Got the HP yesterday, and started printing from the Olympus Verve XD card, wow, is all I can say now, fabulous results.
The features on it are great and sooo easy to use.
Great job by HP, the best I have ever seen, had previously gotten a Sony dye sublimation printer which was not so good, this HP is the king of hill
Totally delighted, was even more delighted when I found there was a $30.00 rebate.

18 Very Pleased
I purchased this printer after deliberating if I should save $50 and buy the 325 model, but I'm glad I didn't. The flip up screen is great and all of the editing options are perfect for what I need. I'm finally getting physical prints from my digital camera with great results and I couldn't be happier. Now I just need to find out what the difference between the #95 and #97 color cartridges are :)
19 Printer is excellent ; packing is terrible
I ordered this from amazon. Recieveing the printer, it looked like the item was packed by a family of gorillias. There was no air packs in the box. What was amazon thinking? It clearly went into the box alright the only thing that saved the box was the strofoam inserts HP put in. The printer itself is mint. Do not listen to the negative reports what I like best it is not dependant on my computer or it's software to run. You simply put in the card from your camera, scroll through your photos, enhance it if you wish, put a frame on it if you wish, crop, many tools built into the machince. It does print in 60 seconds. You can put 4 photos in the space of a 4 x 6 photo with or wothout frames. Beautiful prints! Do not be decieved into thinking there is room for more than one cartridge. It is either color photos or black and white photos or sephia which is an old fashioned finish. I ordered the internal battery and bag from Hp since it is not available on amazon. I am looking forward to the portability of the machince. Good value, although costco had it cheaper by $20.00, outside of that I am quite pleased.
20 HP 375--A real piece of junk
I bought a 375 at Best Buy. It didn't work out of the box. Customer support couldn't get it going. Took it back and exchanged
for another. Same problem--it wouldn't get past the alignment stage. Took it back. Computer dept.manager opened another one--same problem. Hewlett Packard no longer has decent quality control. I wouldn't buy any of their products. I did buy a Canon--it works great.
21 HP Photosmart 375
I have used the HP Photosmart 375 (under $200.00) for the past month. I have taken it on both leisure and business trips. I have found it to be all encompassing for a "portable" and "photo" printer. We just had a family reunion and of course this was a big hit since I was able to print from my camera's SD memory card (CompactFlash, SmartMedia, MultiMedia, Memory Stick, SD, or XD are additional cards this printer can print from) by using the printer's rechargeable battery (manuft. rates 75 pix per charge) feature which makes this printer truly portable. I purchased the car adapter soon after the event to ensure that I was able to always have power to print. The photos where easy to review (2.5" flip-up LCD display) and print. The photo print quality was excellent and the family enjoyed choosing their photos and the convenience of having them "now" was a big hit. In fact, my brother purchased one the very next day. I also liked having the ability to use the flip-up display to rotate, crop, zoom and fix red-eye before printing all without the use of a PC attached. I recommend this for anyone who would enjoy the freedom and ease of printing photos just about anywhere and at anytime.
22 A Complete Joke
I ordered this, got it overnight and it simply didn't work. First, I tried to solve the problem by going on-line. I got an online chat support person who asked me to wait because he "needed to research the problem" and after five minutes the chat session was discontinued. When I contacted HP by phone, they said they would ship a replacement overnight if I paid $10 extra. Two days later, they left a message that there would be a seven business day delay in shipping it! When I called to complain, no one seemed to be able to do anything about it. This is the same thing that happened to me with an HP printer five years ago, and I vowed then not to order anything again. I should have stuck to my guns. I have no printer, am out $200 and wonder if it will ever be solved! Then they sent me an email asking me to take a survey to see how I liked the service I got. Talk about a disaster!
23 Fantastic Results - HP 375 Compact Photo Printer
The HP Photosmart 375 Photo Printer is an awesome printer based on the quality and features it delivers. You can print 4 x 6 quality prints in less than 90 seconds. The best part about this printer is it can be completely portable with the purchase of an optional battery pack. You can take this printer to family reunions; it is great for real estate agents, insurance appraisers, disc jockeys at weddings, or any fun event that you want to capture the moment on the spot. It has a 2.5" LCD display in which you can put your memory card in any of the numerous slots. This way you can view your photo without having to print a proof sheet and waste ink. You also are able to zoom, crop, and frame your photos with this little printer. It also has an optional bluetooth adapter. All-in-all, this little printer delivers excellent results for only $199.
24 Perfect portable printer
This Things COOL!! I bought the Epson Picture mate but returned it and bought this instead. It's lighter, smaller, much easier to use and the pictures come out much more vivid which is strange because it only uses a three ink system. I also love to do black and white photos and this one has a special grey photo cartridge that makes some outstanding B&W photos. I can even edit and crop the pictures using the LCD screen. I plan on picking up the battery so I don't have to worry about plugging it into the wall when I take it with me.
25 Unmatched Features
Compared to the other "portable" printers available, this little HP offers the most bang for the buck. I don't own one - yet! However I work at an electronics store and demo and sell them all day long. This is perfect for the person who wants to be able to take a photo printer out of the house - on vacation, family gatherings, soccer games, birthday parties, etc. It has an 8-in-1 card reader for any kind of digital camera. It also has a USB port on the front for PictBridge support (print right from your camera).

It is the only portable printer on the market with a color LCD screen so you can actually SEE your photos, EDIT your photos (crop, rotate, change to B&W/Antique/Sepia, DELETE unwanted photos, & PRINT multiple photos on a page. For true B&W photos, you can put in an optional HP 100 gray cartridge! You also have the ability to add an optional battery. If you have a Bluetooth cell phone or iPaq, you can get an optional Bluetooth adapter for it too!

I would highly recommend this printer!
26 375 Review
This is the best portable printer you can get! It prints great photos, it is extremely easy to use and it is completely portable. I have the old 245 and this one just got better!
27 Awesome printer Awesome pictures Awesome features
I had a chance to use one of these for 3 days a few weeks ago, wow talk about impressive. First it's extremely easy to use and fast....4x6 photos in about 90 seconds. The quality is amazing, and if your pictures have red eye in them, no problem the PS 375 will remove it for you. Got a cell phone with a camera and Blue Tooth, no problem simply sync it with PS 375's optional Blue Tooth attachment and print your pictures. Going somewhere where you cannot plug in, again no problem with the optional battery pack. This is a must have to anyone with a digital camera, take it anywhere with you, it's small enough to fit in your luggage for those trips or how about upcoming family gatherings...it's perfect. If you are a professional and need pictures on the go now you have an elegant solution. At $199.99 it's a steal and the cartridge seems to last a long time. I printed over a 100 pictures with the cartridge it came with and it was still going strong.

Nice job HP, you did it again!
28 Freedom to print where you want
HP has done it once again. With the 375 you not only get stunning photos that look great every time, but with the new portable photo printer, you can get an optional battery and print anywhere you happen to be. For any one who wants to be able to print at anything like a kids b-day party, or that pesky family reunion, or the work Christmas party, this is a awesome printer. Get those candid photos, and print them on the spot, no running back to the house, or office to get your prints anymore!!
Overall I would have to say, this is a great little printer series that has only gotten better with the new models. Larger screen for preview, better video printing options, able to edit your pictures right there with a printer that is smaller than a bread box.. it doesn't get any better.
