1 HP Photosmart 7350
I bought the 7350 less than 2 years ago and paid almost $200.00 for it. It sounds like a thrashing machine, clunks and jerks, and now it only prints occasionally. I'm taking it to the Goodwill store today; maybe someone else can get it to perform since I sure can't. I'm tired of trying.

2 Great photos. Very good Price!
I paid over $150 for mine > a year ago. No regrets!
3 Not worth the money )$148.00
The problem I have is the faces being rather fuzzy. Have tried everything to correct it , have not figured out how or if it can be done.
Its very easy to use, if only I could get clearer pictures!
4 7350 Highs and Lows
We bought the HP 7350 Photosmart Printer at Christmas. It looks great and is, mercifully, quiet. It doesn't click and "whirr" like the other, cheaper printers we have. Front card slots make it a stand alone product, but you lose some control over the prints. Generally the Printer looks and feels professional.
We get fast prints on lower resolutions. Very fast. Occasional printing gives good, vibrant colours on affordable photos. Under Windows XP Professional, printing, and the software control options, have been generally reliable, though not cheap. We had problems with earlier Windows and USB versions. If the 7350 went offline, we couldn't get it back without a hard reset. It's all fine until you use it every day, and, a lot. Running costs are high. And now, it's started printing in pink. So it's OK for the occasional home user. Don't rely on any ink-jet printer for business. Running costs, and hassle, have consigned our 7350 to the kids' room. It just proves that pre-printed documents are better, cheaper, and more reliable than using ink-jets. Any time. Our 7350 is a smart, occasional, photo-printer, excellent for fast text prints. That's all.
5 Great Printer, Some things to consider
I purchased this printer about a month ago along with the hp scanjet 5500c Scanner and the Olympus C-50 digital camera (both also were good decisions) for my Mac OS 10.2 system. It has turned out to be an excellent decision. This printer prints both text and pictures very well without problems. However there are some things to consider:

1, if you are planning to use it only by your camera's memory card, it does not work with xD, but if you have a computer don't worry about it.

2, it can take a while to become familiar with its controls

3, for high quality pictures it can take a while to initialize and print, sometimes up to 5-8 minutes for an 8 x 10. However, it's well worth the wait, and you can easily print ordinary quality/smaller pictures.

4, The photo or color ink cartridge may run out more quickly than you might like (remember to replace the photo ink cartridge with the B & W when not printing photos)

This is definitely a good printer for the cost. I have a PC and a Mac OS X 10.2 and it works well for both.

6 Fantastic Printer
When I bought a new computer and new software, I didn't really think about my old printer not being able to "keep up." (I also had an old scanner that was not Windows XP compatible and had to buy a new scanner.) I print a lot of photos, both b/w and color, and after scanning in a few photos and printing these, I discovered that I now needed a new printer. The new scanner was scanning at higher resolutions that my old printer could not handle. I have always liked HP printers and decided to buy the HP Photosmart 7550. However, a magazine article I read stated that the 7350 printed just as well as the 7550 and the 7350 cost $150 less. Needless to say I bought the Photosmart 7350. It was one of the best decisions I have made.

This printer does a phenomenal job printing photos, both black and white and color. It does a great job with anything you ask it to print, photos, graphics, or text, and the colors are very true to the original. There are a few drawbacks I have found thus far: 1) it is not a speedy printer. For example, I recently had to print a two-sided, legal size flyer. The flyer had a color photograph, color graphics and text on one side and straight text on the other side. I printed 200 copies and it took 5 hours to do the job (1.5 pages every minute). I had the print quality set at `Normal.' When I set it to `Best', it took almost twice as long to print one page. The `Best' setting obviously gave the better looking results but for the flyer I was doing, the `Normal' setting was fine. For the photos I print I always use the `Best' setting; 2) it only holds two print cartridges at a time so you have to switch between the photo and black ink cartridges, depending on what you're printing. The printer does not come with a black ink cartridge although, according to the instruction manual, you don't need a black ink cartridge. Buying a black ink cartridge is more economical if you print a lot of regular documents; and, 3) the 7550 has an LCD screen for previewing pictures, the 7350 does not. I don't consider this a necessity but some people might. All-in-all you have to consider what your top priority is as far as printer specifications are concerned. My first priority is quality of print, speed is secondary. Therefore, the length of time it takes to print something out is not an issue for me.

Something else to consider is the software and scanner you have; they do make a difference. If you do a lot of photos then definitely get some good image editing software. The software will improve the photos you will print, particularly if you plan to print older or damaged photos.

As a final note, the Photosmart 7350 does have memory-card slots located on the front panel - CompactFlash/IBM Microdrive, MultiMediaCard/Secure Digital, Memory Stick, and SmartMedia. It also has a digital camera port located on the front that you can use to print photos directly from your camera; you don't have to use your computer.

7 Incredible!!!!!
For the nomical price of this printer, I am extremely pleased with the printer. It prints pictures wonderfully clear. The print cartridges last a lot longer than any other printer I have used. In sum, this was definitely a worth while purchase.
8 This is just awesome!
I just bought this printer from price club for 130 bucks and it came with black ink cartridge as well as the USB Cable. And that's a deal.
This printer was in my wish list for a long time and I was oscillating between this one and the 7550. For a home use, I thought 7550 was pretty expensive and from little research I found that the only difference between the models is the preview from memory media and the speed. Well, I did not think that the preview mattered to me 'cause I'm not too comfortable in printing on a expensive sheet just by seeing a preview of the picture. I want to see BIG! So I crossed off that feature. And the only other thing I saw that was different was the speed and the extra cartidge for black ink.If I could get a better deal I can have a little more patience in printing and take a little pain to change the cartridge for every day use... And now voila! I coul'nt wait to buy the 7350 one and I did!
The setup was very simple and I saw my first print in half an hour that includes the set up time... And then I went on with the 4X6,matte paper and so on... Not wasting even one single sheet and the colors were vivid and rich.
I'm very glad my choice was right and I bought this printer!
9 Great printer
We love this printer, it does everything! The 4x6 tray is great and you can print very easy from the media cards or from the printer either on is very easy. Took no time to set up and use every aspect of this printer with no trouble. We have printed hundreds of pictures and they all look like they came from a photo store. Cost saving have been good as well as you can get ink refills for cartridges and generic photo paper very cheap. So easy to edit pics on your PC then send them right to the printer for flawless printing every time!!!!! Best printer we have ever seen.
10 Photo Printer Exclusively
Our family purchased this printer exclusively for photos. We have a 4 MP camera and the photos look professionally produced.

We find that it is easy to use; however, to our disappointment, it does not produce true borderless prints. Photos emerge with 3 sides borderless and the 4th trailing side must be cropped with a paper cutter to remove a 3/8-inch white border. This was not made clear on the packaging nor on any reviews that I had read.

We have also experienced paper jams that other people have mentioned, ironically, only with the HP brand photo paper and not with the Ritz photo paper we were given when we purchase our camera.

Given the price of the replacement cartridges and paper (Consumer Reports estimated the price per 8 1/2x11 page to be $1.10); we will do the majority of our printing at [a store]. The printer will be used for convenience and fun.

11 Printing problems
Avoid this printer if you plan to print to the 4X6 tray from your PC!
I followed the instructions to the letter and still have problems printing to the 4X6 photo tray from a PC. The printing does not match the size of the paper, even though the S/W indicates 4X6. I've wasted a great deal of paper and ink trying to get it to print properly. I do not have this problem when printing directly from the printer via a Compact Flash card. Also, this printer will not feed properly when only a couple of sheets of photo paper are in the 4X6 tray. And when you fill it with paper, it sometimes feeds several sheets at once and jams!!!.
12 Great for photos, easy to setup and use
I purchased the HP PhotoSmart 7350 mostly to print out digital pictures. I already had a decent color inkjet, but I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the prints. I debated between getting the 7350 and 7550. The 7350 is slower and doesn't have the LCD screen for previewing pictures, ..., so I had no problem trading price for performance.

The prints I have made from my digital camera are fantastic. I have printed out both 4x6 and 8x10. Many of the people who have seen my prints from the 7350 couldn't tell that they were from a digital camera.

The setup is very easy. I had it connected to my PC and running in less than 5 minutes. The photo software that comes with the printer is very good. It is easy to use but also has a lot of more advanced features.

The printer isn't perfect. The 7350 holds 2 print cartridges, one for the tricolor cartridge and one for the photo or black cartridge. The printer comes with a tricolor and photo, but no black. I print out non-photo documents as much as photos, so it is a bit of a hassle to have to switch the black and photo cartridges.

Another issue is the size of the printer. The 7350 is considerably larger than my previous HP color inkjets and takes up a lot of desk space. If you have a crowded desk, I'd measure first to be sure you have the space.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and the photo prints look great.

13 I love this printer
this printer is the best one I have ever owned.. I was oh so excited upon setting it to find out that HP gives you the color ink and the photo ink! Also the features are great! They have a slot just for 4x6 photos and another one for envelops! The quality of the printed picture is hard to match with compariable printers. If you do a lot of digital photos and printer this is a must have.
14 What's with the paper jams?
We bought this printer to print out a large number of invitations for a party we were having. It worked great! It was quiet, went fairly quick, and didn't give us any trouble. It seems to be great quality, although we haven't tried printing and photos.

Recently though, we have getting papers jams ALL THE TIME! This printer CONSTANTLY picks up more than one sheet causing a paper jam and a BIG hassle. Believe me, we have tried many different varieties of paper but it keeps jamming!

I have no idea how to fix this, but it's becoming a big hassle!

15 Slow, ... painful
Sure, buy this printer, if you want to spend hours and dollar$$ to get the quality of prints from your digital camera that almost match the quality of prints from [a] one-time use Kodak camera available at any grocery store.

And don't expect to use it with your computer - the only use for this printer is to plug in a memory card, print an index sheet, and then print those expen$$ive sheets.

Don't waste your time or money.

16 Decent printer, slow card reader.
I see completely different performance results with B&W. First of all, I use draft, as I like the lighter shade of color and less smudging on the paper, especially lightweight ones. (I use lightweight for my tax as it is a lot easier to fold!). It cranks out a b&W document about 10ppm or so. (Just a guess). You should also make sure to set the default b&w in such that in only uses the black ink cartridge. The combination of the two makes this printer fly fast.

For photo, this thing is slow. Then again, how often do I print photo? Graphics are reasonable speed. I can't push out 10ppm, but it's OK on pages with reasonable amount of graphics (i.e. mapquest).

One complaint is the car reader. It is DOG SLOW. I don't know about using it to print pitctures straight from the printer using the lcd navigation, but my cheap usb adapater for the mmc card can read 4-10x faster then the one that comes with this printer. My suggestion is to use it as a backup. My guess is that it traverses down the directories to find all pictures so it can list them on it's limited LCD. For someone who doesn't need it, I'd rather skip this process as I like to do everything from my pc. For this, I knocked the rating to 4 stars.

Overall, not a bad printer at all. There are half a dozen people in my company who owns variations of the same printer (without car reader and so forth), and we are all pleased.

17 Beautiful pictures
This printer worked fine right out the box. Set up, installation of software was breeze. No problem with it working with my operating system XP. My pictures that I scanned and printed came out beautiful. It really did look like they were done by a professional.

(sorry) my only problem with it was that after two weeks, I had to replace the #58 print cartridge, as I believe that--that cartridge was probably a demo, otherwise everything else was just fine. BTW I did find a great price (wont mention the site here however,)for both my replaced color and my new black cartridge. Look around, great prices are out there.
Enjoy printing. :)

18 Don't buy this piece of junk.
I cannot describe how lousey this printer is. It is slower than a 1985 dial up modem. Two minutes to do a printed page in black and white. A color photo of 4x6 takes 5 minutes. This is on a HP Pavilion POC computer. So I tried it on my G4 Mac that has an excellent 1115 Photosmart on it. The 7350 would not work with OSX until I downloaded the latest driver from HP which took an hour as I only have dial-up. The printer works a little faster on the Mac, but not by much. The photo quality is not near as good as the HP1115 or Epson I have. I cannot recommend this piece of junk. Oh by the way, HP support is non-exhistant unless you pay first? ...
19 Slower than a dial-up modem
This is without a doubt, the worst printer I have ever purchased. I bought this one to use on my HP computer, as I use a Photosmart 1115 with my Power Mac G4 and it is excellent. I figgured the extra inking would be better on the PC. WRONG. So I tried it on the Mac, it is SLOWER. It runs about 1 page per minute and a half. A color photo takes 5 minutes, and this is a small 4x6 print. I'll keep the 1115. It has better photo quality also. AND, the smart card reader is also slow. The 1115 reads the same photos in 1/10 th the time. I will never recommend this printer to anyone.
20 No Complaints
I bought this about three months ago and have not had a single problem. It took about five minutes to plug it in and set it up. I use it exclusively to print photos on 4 x 6 and 8.5 x 11 photo paper. I have not encountered any issues with the paper feed. The photos look great. It is helpful to print straight from a memory card, but the software that comes with the printer allows you to clean things up before your print so I tend print from my PC.

I always print at the highest resolution and I am happy with the number of photos that I can print before I need to change the ink.

21 Awesome Printer, Awesome Price
This is a great printer and an even better price. Photos printed on 4 by 6 photo paper look like they came from the developer. Printing directly from your memory cards is a big plus too. Highly recommended.
22 don't buy this printer!
I bought the HP Photosmart 7350 last week. After attempting to install the new printer several times, I finally realized that it was defective. The UBC connector in back of the printer did not work at all (the one in front, for the digital camera, worked fine). I noticed it right away - the cable did not snap in all of the way and I was never able to install the printer because my computer could not establish a connection.

I returned to the store and exchanged the broken printer for another HP 7350. It has the exact same problem with the port in back. I contacted HP online for some customer support and here was the final response:

"As the computer recognized your printer when connected to the front port of your printer, it indicates that the issue is with the port of your printer. In order to resolve the issue, you would have to get your printer serviced."
"Note: Out of warranty products do require a fee."

Please note: this is a brand new printer, right out of the box, and it is the second HP 7350 I have received this week with a broken port.

After reading other reviews online, it sounds like this product is a "hit or miss" in just getting it up and running. I think HP should seriously look into the quality control or the design of this particular model. I will not have the printer serviced, but will return it for a full refund and will buy something that works.

I hope this review helps you avoid a big disappointment and waste of time.

23 This is great!
This is the first photo printer that I have purchased and I am impressed with the ease of the 4x6 printing capabilities and the quality of the photos.
24 HP let me down on this one
Good printer except I have to unplug it from the power source and "reboot" the printer to get it to be recognized by the Windows XP machine. Real pain. Black ink cartridge is a little low in capacity.
25 HP 7350 - Communication error
I bought an HP Photosmart 7350. Installed the drivers exactly as it said in the manual. Printed a photo. It was superb.Great photo quality. But soon ...my ordeal with the printer was to begin! The printer started giving me so much hassle as I have never expirienced before.
I found out that once I shut down the PC and restarted it, it was not possible to establish connection between the PC and the printer. The printer would not turn ON. I had to pull the USB cable out sometimes to establish connection. Sometimes that too wouldn't work. I had to pull the power cable out and put it back in to re-establish connection. All in all, it was a pain to turn the printer on. Now, that you have turned it ON doesn't mean you can print! The print job goes through with no errors, but nothing is printed out. There is no error produced. So, what is happening?
Now that the printer is turned ON, there is no way you can turn it OFF. Communication between PC and printer has failed again, that it is impossible to turn it OFF. Again, pulling the power chord or USB cable may do the trick.
I replaced the printer for another, thinking it must be a faulty printer. The second printer behaved just the same. I installed on a second PC. I changed the USB cable. Things did not improve. After 4 weeks of fretting and frowning, I returned the printer and bought a HP 5550 deskjet. It installed first time ( using USB port)and is working ever since with no problems.
I emailed HP with the HP 7350 printer problems. Even though I got quick replies from their Technical Support, they promised me that a representative in UK will call me(I am based in UK) and talk me through to getting the printer working. But to-date I have not heard from an HP representative.
26 Great Printer for the Dough!
I bought this printer two weeks ago and I've already went through four reams of photo paper with no problems whatsoever. The print quality is GREAT. From one foot away you can not tell the difference between photo printed from this printer and one done by your local photo lab. Of course there is a small amount of pixellation, a very small amount, and in some cases none. Unless your willing to spend four digits for a printer your going to get that with all of them. Installation is easy and fast, and the new print cartridges, (although a little on the pricy side) make the difference because of the 7 colors. I see some people trashing this printer and I don't know why, maybe they got a lemon, it happens sometimes, or maybe they are working with a not so great cammera. Some of the people trashing it have obviously owned every HP printer available, usually two or three of each model, because the same folks ... every HP devise on this site. Come on folks, get off the "I've got nothing better to do than to ... brands I don't like" thing. I'm not a big HP fan, (had lots of trouble with their cammera's), but this printer changed my mind.
27 Great photo printer
This printer produces astonishing photo-quality prints when using the optional photo-ink cartridge. Print time is appreciably low and color reproduction is astoundingly good. I especially like 4x6 borderless, color prints!! It's also quiet compared to my old Epson 777 -- a printer that would guzzle ink and wake up family members when turned on.

The SmartMEDIA receptacle was another plus for me. While it's not too much trouble to plug my digital camera into the computer, I kind of liked not having to do this.

The only down points:
* Printing really good color photos requires changing out the black ink cartridge; vice-versa for everyday printing. A minor inconvenience, but still an inconvenience -- a third cartridge receptacle would be nice so as to leave the user a little more hands-free!
* You have to load the paper "just so." There's not too much room for "play"; you have to make sure that paper is firmly placed in the tray or there may be a misfeed. That's one advantage that I could say I had with the Epson -- loading paper was gravity-fed, not horizontal. However, I have not experienced problems as stated in the negative reviews after the 1st day I got the printer.

28 Great printer if you don't mind waiting
This printer is very slow....even on normal documents with the black ink cartridge and on normal settings. However, the photos do come out amazing! The only problem I've had with it is that it says it doesn't recognize the "left ink cartridge" and the printer tells me to replace it even though it's brand new and an HP brand #57 cartridge. I've done everything to fix the problem including buying another cartridge and it still doesn't work. I ended up just taking out the color cartridge and printing with the photo one which is a waste, but oh well.
29 Don't buy this
I have had nothing but trouble with this product. It cannot distinguish between trays, therefor you must load and unload each time you switch from one type of paper to another. The carriage continuously locks up, requiring resets, and paper jams, usually damaging the photo paper. I would estimate that only 25-30% of the printing attempts are successful. When it does print, the rollers either scratch the emulsion on photo paper or it prints slightly askew. Eventhough I have bought extra photo cartridges, I am returning mine. I believe money is better spent elswhere
30 Almost perfect companion
Having purchased a new Kodak DX4900 Digital camera for myself for Christmas, I fealt that I needed a printer capable of giving me superior photo like qualities. Since I have been very pleased with my other HP color printer, and in spite of a couple of negative reviews herein, I bought one. And, I have had wonderful results. I especially like two of the features, being able to plug your camera chip directly into the printer (you can totally bypass your computer), and the borderless prints. Everything worked as advertised, and for a printer costing under [$$$], gives remarkable results. I would highly recommend it.
31 Great pictures
I love this printer. I had an older Epson that was SLOW and just really stopped printing well. I love this new HP. The software that comes with it is easy to use. The borderless prints are great, I have been using the HP 4X6 paper with tab and they come out looking like photo lab prints. This was fairly easy to set up. I am very pleased with my purchase. Word of warning...you do need a USB cable to hook this up, not your traditional printer cable.
32 HP Photosmart 7350 Poor Quality
This is the third HP Photosmart 7350 printer I have gotten. The first printer had a problem with the Cartridge Station. It kept getting stuck. The 2nd & 3rd printer smudged the top of printed photos that were fed thru the 4 X 6 slot. This smudge only occurred when selecting the '4 X 6 Borderless' formatting options. The only thing consistent about the HP 7350's I have had so far is the smudge! And there seems to be no real borderless printing with the HP 7350 that I can tell. The printer is quite slow, even when printing black & white text. My HP 5550 printer is far superior in this regard. HP e-mail technical support was not extremely helpful. Phone support is not a toll free number and you have to wait at least 20 minutes for assistance off-hours).The poor workmanship of this machine has definitely been a big disappointment. I now have to return it again to the store for another printer. In the past, I have had very solid HP printers. I doubt I will buy another HP printer again.

January - Just an update on my fourth HP 7350. I finally got one that works. The two printers I got with the defect on printing with the 4 X 6 borderless option were both manufactured in July 2002. This must have been a defective batch. My last HP 7350 was manufactured in September and worked well. It even did true borderless printing which the first 3 did not. I am still dissatisfied with the overall reliability of the new HP printers but at least I finally got a printer that works!

33 Already got 2 defective HP 7350 Printers
In the past, I have had HP printers that performed well. The HP 7350 is another story. The first HP 7350 I got had a problem with the cartridge unit, it would get stuck. I just got a replacement unit that has a defective feed for the 4 X 6 slot. It smudges the top portion of the picture. This it does consistently!!! I feel that the new HP's are junk. There doesn't appear to be any quality control on the product. It is an extremely noisy unit and prints much slower then my older printers. Yes, the quality of the photo printing is nice, but you need for the printer to work well first. HP e-mail technical support is a joke. Their responses don't seem to come close to understanding the problems. I wonder if the responses are just generated by computer. And HP is one of the few companys that does not provide a toll free number for technical assistance and they put you on hold for an extremely long time. If you buy this product, do get a service contract with the store you bought it from because HP won't be much help to you.
34 Great Printer
Interesting ratings. Obvisouly a couple of malcontents. I had low expectations for the printer and bought it so I could have a color printer to print out a few business type sheets now and then, didn't have a need for the photo stuff. But we first tested the photo capability and I was astounded. They are that good. Of course the photos are 4 megs but the output is supberb, even at 8.5 x 11. Great printer great buy.
35 WOW
I don't know who wrote bad reviews for this printer, but it is amazing. This is the third so called photo printer i have owned, all claiming studio quality pictures-this is the only one that lives up to the challenge. I can not tell the difference in the pictures I printed off the printer from the ones I had sent off to be developed. BIG POSITIVES=4x6 photo paper tray, super quiet, photo ink included, slots for digital camera media
36 where are the borderless prints?
First of all, let me caveat this by saying I own two other HP printers. Their products have been great in the past. I am actually biased toward hp printers. So, onward...

This printer doesn't do true 4x6 borderless prints. This would be fine, except that HP says it does! The catch: you have to get special perforated 4x6 cards! I am pretty upset about this- if the photo isn't 4x6 with no border on any 4x6 media, it's not borderless! There is no workaround for this from HP either. This problem is the same for the 5550, 7350, 7550 models.

And btw, if you do print a border, it doesn't come out even all the way around the print (even after re-calibration).

With that said, the HP has an amazing feature set, color correction capabilities, etc. But we bought this to do borderless prints- if that is what you want, go elsewhere!

37 Excellent Pictures
We just got our first digital camera and coincidentally our printer died so we bought this for both pictures and work. We are extremely happy with the quality of the pictures along with the disk which is very user friendly. My only complaint is that when using the printer for printing normal documents, it's a little slower than I expected it to be. But for digital pictures, we are very impressed with the quality and the price. Only other downside as is with all of them is the cost of the toners but that's where they get you!
38 Quiet, easy to use - and the photos look fantastic!
There is so much to recommend about the HP 7350. Printing is extremely quiet and professional in appearance. You have the option of either hooking it up to your PC or Mac (USB cable must be purchased separately) or operating it as an independent unit by simply inserting your smart card into the slot on the front. If you want to print 4x6's, there is a separate tray/slot for this size of paper. The controls have a nice feel, and the screen displaying the options is angled up slightly, making it easy to read for most people. You can print out an "index" or proof sheet of the photos on your card for preview.

The unit comes with 57(color) and 58(photo) cartridges that are about 1/3 full. If you want to use this as a regular ink jet as well, you'll have to buy a #56 black ink cartridge. It also comes with a few sheets of glossy photo paper to get you started.

The photos that come out of this printer look as though they were professional printed, with high resolution (of course, the resolution of your digital camera has a lot to do with this) and a clean look. The printing itself is rather slow, especially if you are used to a laser printer as I am, but the results are well worth it.

I highly recommend this printer to anyone with a digital camera. You won't regret it.

39 Not Reliable
I get a lot of jams. I didn't expect this lack of quality with a name brand printer. Wouldn't buy it again.
40 I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this printer
I don't know who these people are who wrote these awful reviews of this printer, but they must have just gotten a bad apple. It has been known to happen to the BEST of products and that is no reason to stereotype ALL products by a brand.

I PERSONALLY have had NOOOOOOOOO problems with this printer at all and find it to have the best quality out of ALL the printers I have owned before. The photo quality is EXCELLENT on this printer and many of the photos I have scanned, print out with the same great resolution they were scanned with. I am a photographer as well as a college student, so quality has to be second to none in order for me to consider keeping an item to use. Reports and portfolios have to be in tip-top shape for me to be satisfied. Used in conjunction with good quality photo paper, the prints I receive off this item are GREAT. I recently bought a complete new system (see my reviews on the hp mx70 monitor and hp753n computer) and this printer and an hp scanner 5400c topped off the system. I couldn't ask for a better system for my needs.

41 its loud and slow
i had just bought this and it is very loud it sounds like it need oil or something. it print quality is not any better than the one i had before. i am going to junk it.
42 Excellent photo printer
I struggled with choosing between Epson and HP. So many great write-ups about the Epson photo printers, but time and time again when I saw what the HP printers produced in the stores it amazed me. So after being an Epson fan for so many years, I decided to make MY own comparison. I took a CF memory card with pictures saved on it to the local store. I looked only for printers that had slots for various memory cards, which I found (1 Epson and 2 HPs). So I proceeded to take a few 4x6 papers and test print on each of the printers, with NO modifications to the saved image. The results were dramatically different. Both the HP 7350 and 7550 came out ahead of the Epson. The HP was very easy to use and fairly straightforward. It took me several attempts to get the Epson to work. In the end, the HP won in side-by-side comparison. I've been using my HP 7350 for a couple of weeks now and am extremely pleased with the quality and ease of use.
43 Couldn't be better
Wow, it seems the reviews on this machine range a lot. Well I can only say good things about this printer. First of all, I am an Epson person, I never use any printers outside of Epson, but Im tired of my Epsons always breaking down, and promising what they dont deliver. I was very impressed with the small things, like the individual holding tray for 4x6 glossy paper, plus the fact that it is a reader for 4 different types of portable media, including MMC, SmartMedia, and Compact Flash. It has a very easy to use and yet effective built in control panel so one can print pictures right off their cameras, bypassing the PC all together. I couldn't give this printer a better rating. And I never thought an inkjet printer can have such *superior* printing abilty. If i didnt do it myself, i would swear that those pictures i took off my cheap digital camera were made strait from the photo shop, and imagine what this thing can do with a high megapixel digital camera. Only shame is I cannot find any non-HP manufactured inks for this printer, gotta get em' from HP. I am using a 850 mhz machine w/ windows 2000 pro and I have never seen such a good printer, plus I have to admit, it has a nice look and feel to it. GET THIS PRINTER!
44 HP Photo 7350, better in the store than your home!
A piece of junk. I have returned mine two times and every one I get keeps telling me the paper is jammed or it can't move the print cradle. (My last HP, the 970 CSE started leaking ink all over my desk as well) I am now going to toss my HP's. I will never buy another one!

note: Even one star is to much for this product!

45 Mac compatibility is terrible.
I'm using the HP photosmart 7350 with a powermac g4 866 running OS 10.2, and the latest drivers and patches from Apple. When I first installed the printer I couldn't print to it at all with the out of the box software. After 20 minutes of troubleshooting, I downloaded the newest drivers from HP's website. This allowed me to print from iphoto and photoshop. The photos I printed on glossy inkjet paper are average, which is the only good thing about this printer that I have found so far. It isn't hot swappable (USB is supposed to be, and my last USB printer was), and I commonly have to restart my computer to get it to print if the printer is unplugged. The print options are limited in terms of paper, and the plastic paper tray is extremely flimsey. The black text output is also terrible. The bottom line: If you want to print from a mac, buy a different printer.
46 Very nice
I think it is worth the extra money for this printer. The LCD panel and multi-color power light are really useful. The printer is very quiet. The six-color photoprinting on premium paper is of photographic quality. I especially appreciate the fact that both 4 x 6 and regular 8.5 x 11 paper can be loaded at the same time; a simple lever switches between them. Very nice.
47 Excelent Photo printing
I replaced another six color photo printer with the HP7350 and have been very satisfied with the results. The colors are vivid and the ease of operation is a delight. Being able to print from my smart media card is a time saver. Also being able to download to my PC from the printer is also a time saver. It is the most quiet printer I have owned. I would recomend this printer to anyone who is serious about digital photography.

Quote of the Day:

What is wanted is not the will to believe, but the will to find out,

which is the exact opposite.
-- Bertrand Russell, "Skeptical Essays", 1928

First, a few words about tools.

Basically, a tool is an object that enables you to take advantage of the
laws of physics and mechanics in such a way that you can seriously injure
yourself. Today, people tend to take tools for granted. If you're ever
walking down the street and you notice some people who look particularly
smug, the odds are that they are taking tools for granted. If I were you,
I'd walk right up and smack them in the face.
