1 N. L. Saltz is right!
I agree with Saltz, Don't Waste Your Money!. I usually read these reviews before buying. This time I didn't and boy do I wish I had. This "book" is out dated and probably never did have any useful information that is not available of the Google site. And guess what the arrow on the cover is covering up? The list price is $1.99. When did Amazon start charging MORE than the cover price?

2 Good not great
How to Use Google : The 30 Most Important Tips, Hacks and Tricks
is a good reference on google, but there are those that are much better.
3 Google High Speed Tutorial
Worth the money to obtain a sense of competence with this all powerful, by all accounts, search engine. There is some slight digression and loss of focus on page 10. Nonetheless, it is nice to be rid of ignorance and its corollary, helplessness, quickly and cheaply.
4 A bit too basic, outdated and expensive
I learned a few new things from this little guide, but nothing terribly new or more powerful or anything (that I couldn't find elsewhere online, for free). Five bucks is too steep for a twelve-page .pdf that's several years old now (when it was two bucks).
5 Very short, not very useful
I bought this on an impulse -- hey, Amazon is recommending this for me, and it's cheap -- and I didn't do my homework. I didn't read these reviews and I didn't check it out.

I won't ask for my money back -- I did, after all, order it, and it's cheap. But I was very disappointed. I already knew all except 2 of the "tricks", and those 2 weren't very useful (one returned no info!).

Unless you're a complete Google newbie, this e-book just isn't worth the time or the money. Sorry!

PS: Don't assume that Amazon's recommendations are good! (I guess that's obvious...)
6 Should be titled How to Search the Web using Google
I thought the Document would give a much better in depth look at how Google works. It didn't, I only found a couple of points that I considered valuable. If you have never used any search engine in your life, you will find it of great value, otherwise keep looking. If you are using a firewall expect problems getting the doc.
7 Good for a Newbie
Are you new to the web ? Did you see Google for the first time yesterday ? If you answered Yes, probably this Book is perfect for you. I am a Search Engine Optimization Consultant and I bought this book for a client of mine. After reading this Book he is happy and then I am all set here to say, This book/ebook is Good. Worth the price for the effort by Tod Sacerdoti. If you need more details about this ebook from me, feel free to reach me. My contact details are available at www.nakulgoyal.com !!
8 Don't Waste Your Money!
I feel totally cheated by this ebook! About 95% of the information in this tiny 13 page publication can be easily found online right on Google's website. Just go to http://www.google.com/options/ where you can read all about the Google Tools mentioned in this ebook and then go to http://www.google.com/help/features.html where you can learn how to use all of the features listed in the book. I did not see one bit of information that I would consider to be either a "hack" or a "trick". If you just want to give away the $1.99, send it to your favorite charity.
9 Horrible - the net provides better tips
I experimented with purchasing electronic books with this one. I must say that a search of the net provided far better advanced google search tips than this book. It was not worth the two bucks, period. This author could have done better by doing a google search on google tips and tricks. I do not recommend this book. Search for "How to really use google" by andrew wroblewski and steve robichaud on the internet...much better and FREE...
10 Concise and Useful Reference
I use Google every day to seek out the information I need on the Web. Even though I am an experienced Google user, I learned a few tricks I didn't know in this e-doc.

I found the Expert Search Tools, especially the information about syntax and structuring searches, to be most useful. Tips in this section tell how Google uses wildcards, how to search within a specific site, how to search for certain file types, and more. You will even discover how to get around Google's ten keyword search limit.

The section Cool Google Hacks and Tricks--maybe it should have been called "Stupid Google Tricks" ;o) --doesn't actually involve using Google. Instead, it gives some tools to obtain and use Google search results in new ways, including searching via email.

This is a great reference to using Google effectively. Although some of the tips are fairly basic, I believe I more than got my money's worth. I would recommend this e-doc to anyone who wants to get more out of their Google searches.

11 Only for beginners
Very basic. Anyone who has been using Google for a while must have figured most of this out by themselves, but if you're new at Google, it would be worth the price. But you know, you get what you pay for.
12 Taking "Search" to a Higher Level
I never knew my daily searches on Google could get so much better! In a book that truly matches my ADD (attn. deficit dis.) styles... this book is an easy read that has become a regular reference tool. Focused, Clear and USEFUL, this document has made me much more powerful and efficient on the WEB.
- Don't waste your time on other guides.
13 Extremely helpful Google tips
I've had to use Google up to 20 times a day doing research for my summer job and I never knew how powerful it could be. "How to Use Google" helped me conduct much more effective, targeted, in-depth searches and has allowed me to find information that I had previously overlooked. The book is just the right length and provides advanced enough information to take you to the next level without being overwhelming. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever or will ever Google.
14 Good things DO come in small packages!
This is a great, inexpensive, and easy to understand Google summary. It covers not only the basics of good search practices (useful for any search engine), but also the additional categories that make Google such a powerful resource. Well worth the investment!
15 The guide we've all been waiting for!
Like many people, I use Google many times every day. Now, finally, someone has put together the perfect reference guide and it is paying off already. Buy this book and take the time to read it. It is more than worth the price.
16 Upgrade your web searching - NOW.
This guide has cut down the time I have spent searching the web and has improved the quality of my results as well. More importantly, it is full of search tips that, once you know, you will wish you had known forever.
17 A great tutorial
Even for an avid Google user like me, Sacerdoti's book reveals some really interesting tidbits on how to get the most productivity out of one's searches. This book is already making me more efficient and yielding stronger results.

Also -- Sacerdoti clues us into some hidden features that I never knew about like easily accessible maps and phone numbers, product information, and access to offline catalogs.

For the price and the time, this might be the most useful book you'll read this year.

18 Short and sweet!
I purchased the much longer "Google Hacks" book, and most of the additional info was unnecessary. Definitely check this one out and for only $$$, what a deal!
19 Super useful guide to Google
This e-book is great for learning useful tips and tricks for Google. It has saved me tons of time searching. Anyone who uses Google regularly--anyone who needs information at their fingertips, really--will benefit from this book. And at 1.99 you simply cannot beat it.
