1 Excellent, small, MiniDV Camcorder.
The GR-DX300U is the ideal size for outdoor enthusiasts. The camera is small, light and fits perfectly in a backpack or pocket. Despite its size, the 3 inch LCD screen is beautiful, but the viewfinder is easier to use in bright, sunny conditions (unfortunately the viewfinder is B/W). Battery life is dismal and you will need to purchase a backup battery (1 hour at best). Digital still pictures are fair and still do not seem to be as clear or vibrant as those taken by an actual digital camera (I rarely use the camera for stills). However, video quality is excellent and footage is easily transferred to your computer through the fire-wire port (using Windows ME and IE-1339 card and cable). With the correct software, DVD editing and creation is a blast! I have also used the JVC GR-DVM76U and am very pleased with JVC's quality and performance.
2 Very good price for this minDV
I have 10 year old Panasonic VHS type video camera without lcd screen, it's work nice and heavy duty use, i am also happy panasonic help me to tracy back a lot of good memory in video. unlikely, technology come to new genaration for minDv. my existing panasonic become an obsolete machine, i even hard to get vhs tape.

for minDv, at first, i was consider for panasonic NV-GS5EN. in fact, i almost going to swap my credit card pay for this camera as i test infront of the video camera shop. the video quality is very clear and nice.

However, for the final minute i change my mind and switch to JVC dx300 due to sales man advice. he told me the most popular item is dx300 due to cheap price and more feature and high quality video, and he sold almost 25 units per months (would you believe what he said??).

Now, i cannot believe my eye, the 540 lina of resolution is a major strength for this machine. 3" lcd and one touch to record the video to memory card. This is the true minDV i am looking for. Another point for this product is small size, very compact, slim, easy to handle, the grid make me so comfortable.
the prices almost excellent compare to sony and canon for same feature

my husband gave a lot of credit for this video cameres. for still image, i would like to say moderate not so bad and not so good. anyway this is not a main function for me, for still image is only extra function for me.(as i have canon digital camera for 4 mega pixel).

finally, i am sure in future this video camera will help me to creature more fun for my family, perhaps later 10 years and i will looking for DVD recorder. this is totally best buy and not regret. thank you.

3 is worth, low price and hight quality product
i do have one sony digital video camare which is only 1.5 megal pix for still camera, and the video quality very nice even sound quality also. two month later, i going to buy another video cmera for my husband due to outstation work need. intialy, i am also looking for the same brand like sony, well after i search from AMAZON web page (would like to thank for AMAZON.com for provide a treasure information for me) i decide try to shift my brand loyalty to JVC.

According to my fusband feedback, he is very happy and love this product. good quality video better than sony at least 75 percent. for still camera photo, after we develop to photo, it's very nice and clear. a lot of function to cover different situation to make the video and photo look nice.

Small and nice shape also attract me, of course the price is even more encourage us. if talking about weakness point for this product,, hmm,,,i would like to say during the darkness environment, you might hard to get a clear video, although it have a BACK ligh function, but it still cannot help much, if this product can add some light accessory to support the background it will be very very nice.

i hope those who looking for budget type video camera, i will strong suggest for pick this product, because i believe in future more and more new technoly will come out and the price will be more cheaper for better technology so wht for pay more as this product will provide all wht you want. thank you

4 Excellent travel digital video camera
Before i bought JVC dx300, i did gather all other brand for travel design digital vidoe camera, like canon mv6i, sony, and panasonic, well,,eventaully i pick a right product which is DX300.

The strong point for choosing this product are show as following :

1: 3" LCD, this is excellent lcd for me to watch and view picture.

2: 1600*1200 resolution, the quality photo after i print was surprising me, it was really good and clear. but i will suggest only print on 4r size, over that the quality may drop as i guest.

3: multi function for digital still camera function like
a)red eye,
b)timer,
c)distance sense for judge the distance from the object and perform automatice flash level,
d)several mode for photo effect,
e)flash adjust
f)five quality ptoho to choose
g)night shot for enhance the indoor light
h) and contain basic other function like other digital camera

4: can still the photo from min DV to memory card, this allow you when you are runing out of memory from SD ram, you still can capture the photo from min dv, however the quality limitation is only 640*480.

5: 540 lina of resolution, this is far enough for general user.

6: mpeg4 function allow you to creaure a small e-mail for send to your friend.

7: reduce wind sound for better sound quality, and stabil image

8: heavy duty, well i did experience drop from table around 3ft, well it still work (might be this is my luck)

9:wide screen and other screen function

10: the shape is small, easy to carry.

11: the quality after i view from TV, all the video i capture is perfect

the weakness point is : without build in light when in dark environment and standard battery life is low.

In overall, from this price to get the same function and hight quality, i think only JVC dx300 can satisfy us. I would suggest this model is suit for general purpose use in travel , small, easy carry, heavy duty and best quality.
In addition, jvc dx95 and dx75 can be consider, but the photo quality and function may be less, so if you looking for travel pack digitil vidoe camera, this is an intellgent choose, thank you wish you all the best.

5 Great compact camcorder with dual capabilites!
I bought this camera when it was first available in June 2003. It was what I was looking for in a camcorder - compact (palm) size, mini-DV camcorder, digital still camera at 1.2 mega pixels that saves on Multi-Media Cards or Secure Digital Cards, large fold out screen (this one has a huge 3"), MPEG movie mode for e-mails, and top quality brand name.

I used to own a camcorder and a separate digital camera for vacations and family events, but what a hassle it was to try to use them both at the same time. With this camera, I have been able to shoot video and take digital still photos at the flip of a switch, without having to fumble through the cameras. The video quality is outstanding and the digital still camera takes very clear photos (as long as you let the camera's auto focus zero in on what you want to take a photo of). Overall, a very high-quality camcorder with digital still photo capability!

The best thing about this JVC camera is the price, you will find this camera to be a lot less expensive. Comparable cameras from Sony and Canon are a lot more expensive for the same realtive features! I highly recommend this camcorder!

Quote of the Day:

In the course of reading Hadamard's "The Psychology of Invention in the

Mathematical Field", I have come across evidence supporting a fact
which we coffee achievers have long appreciated: no really creative,
intelligent thought is possible without a good cup of coffee. On page
14, Hadamard is discussing Poincare's theory of fuchsian groups and
fuchsian functions, which he describes as "... one of his greatest
discoveries, the first which consecrated his glory ..." Hadamard refers
to Poincare having had a "... sleepless night which initiated all that
memorable work ..." and gives the following, very revealing quote:

"One evening, contrary to my custom, I drank black coffee and
could not sleep. Ideas rose in crowds; I felt them collide
until pairs interlocked, so to speak, making a stable
combination."

Too bad drinking black coffee was contrary to his custom. Maybe he
could really have amounted to something as a coffee achiever.

"Many have seen Topaxci, God of the Red Mushroom, and they earn the
name of shaman," he said. Some have seen Skelde, spirit of the smoke, and
they are called sorcerers. A few have been privileged to see Umcherrel, the
soul of the forest, and they are known as spirit masters. But none have
seen a box with hundreds of legs that looked at them without eyes, and they
are known as idio--"
The interruption was caused by a sudden screaming noise and a flurry
of snow and sparks that blew the fire across the dark hut; there was a brief
blurred vision and then the opposite wall was blasted aside and the
apparition vanished.
There was a long silence. Then a slightly shorter silence. Then
the old shaman said carefully, "You didn't just see two men go through
upside down on a broomstick, shouting and screaming at each other, did you?"
The boy looked at him levelly. "Certainly not," he said.
The old man heaved a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness for that," he
said. "Neither did I."
