America's favorite entertainer, Tim Allen, is at it again as commodities broker Michael Cromwell, king of the Wall Street jungle. With money, power, and an engagement to a beautiful fashion designer, he has it all. But when Michael travels to the Amazon to finalize the divorce from his first wife -- a jungle doctor -- she reveals that he also has a blowdart-shooting, giant-spider-carrying, 13-year-old son, Mimi-Siku. Cultures clash when Mimi is entrusted by his tribal chief to bring back fire from the Statue of Liberty. Back home in New York, Michael must somehow convince Mimi that pets are not for eating and it's not nice to chase people with your killer spider. But when Michael's partner (Martin Short) crosses a Russian mob boss in a coffee bean deal, Mimi and Michael must use all their jungle skills in a hysterical father/son rescue. Now you can bring home the hilarious new hit comedy adventure from the studio that brought you HOME IMPROVEMENT and the box office smash THE SANTA CLAUSE.
1 Jungle 2 Jungle
This Film is the second most appaling film (placed just fractionaly under "blue crush") I have endured in my short life. The film was so awfull that i was hugely supprised to see that walt disney had produced this film, i was aware that the standard of the films had been going down hill, but this, this was compleate and utter bilge. To start with the characters were so hugly unbelivable and cliche. Tim allen (who befor i thought of as a respected actor) who is Micheal, a highly paid trades-man in new york says to his newly found son as they are "bonding" in the Jungle " how far are we going, these shoes cost me five thousand dollars". or some other rubbish along those lines. But to be fair that could not even compare to most horrific and mind numminly stupid ending that does acually beat "blue crush" .When father and son unite in some slapstick comedey, you know the usual vases over heads etc. The one thing i did enjoy in "Junle 2 Jungle" was when Micheal (Tim Allen) shots his cat, this in it's self wasn't funny it was the stuffed cat that was used that was funny. It seemed that Disney had run out of money, or enthusiasim and that one of the camera men had stolen his daughters cuddley-toy cat to uses and as Tim Allen held it up (trying to wake it up) you could see quiet blatently that is was by no way a real cat.
In conclusion, if you want to see one of the most awfull films made in history then please go ahead and buy it, wast your money if not on this then on some other some other appaling film. As i saud befor this IS the second worst film i have ever seen

3 Jungle to unbelievable
Jungle to Jungle is a modern version of Little Indian Big City. (see my review). Although this film is funnier, better acted(Tim Allen rocks!), and more entertaining, I didn't feel the boy(Sam Hungington) that played Mimi was born in the jungle at all. Don't get me wrong, he is a wonderful actor and the girls will love his bod, although he did a great job he didn't come across on film as believable. In Little Indian Big City the boy was believable. Sam Huntington spoke as well as a Harvard lawyer and jungle boys don't speak that well since they told us straight out that he couldn't read.
This film takes place in New York City. Little Indian Big City takes place in Paris. Mimi climbs the Statue of Liberty, pins the neighbors pigeon against the wall, cooks his dad's friends prize fish and yes, gets the girl.
The weird thing about this film I think: A half naked boy walks down the street in New York and nothin happens to him? Unbelievable.
I liked the film because of Tim Allen and Sam Huntington. Allen is funny and Huntington is, well.. see the film. You will like it.
4 Underrated
I wanted to say first off, that this truly is a great comedy, a great family comedy. And yes, it is possibly Tim Allen's best. But to those who say you shouldn't buy this DVD of it, simply because of no extras, and the lack of an enhancement for widescreen, I say forget it. Buy it. It doesn't look bad. Possibly a little bit reddish at times, but that could be what the director wanted in the first place.
5 Coolest movie ever
I love this movie for many reasons, the biggest being that the love of my life,Frankie Galasso,is in it.Even though that's why I usually watch it,I can't say it's bad in any way. It's extreamly entertaining, and has good family moments.Definetly a must to see.
6 Great movie...troubling DVD
"Jungle 2 Jungle" is a highly underrated comedy starring Tim Allen. It's a feel good family film and it's also very funny.
Disney's DVD treatment of this personal favorite is a huge disappointment though. For starters, the packaging says "1.33:1 Fullscreen." Well, it's NOT. It's actually in 1.85:1 widescreen...which would be GREAT, but it's non-anamorphic. (Disney seems to be the ONLY studio still putting out non-enhanced letterbox transfers). The packaging also lists the wrong running time, and the film seems to have been put on two layers but still occupy under 5 GB.
The video transfer could be better, but it's the audio portion that loses serious points. You see, even though this film was released in theaters with a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, the DVD only contains a Dolby 2.0 Surround audio track. Most unfortunate, as the film has a very nice 5.1 Dolby Digital track on the anamorphic-but-PAL Region 4 (Australia) DVD, even the laserdisc did.
And of course most troubling is the lack of extra features. While I would have been shocked at a Tim Allen/John Pasquin commentary, including the very cool trailer wouldn't have killed them. Nope, not even a trailer is here to be found, and there is some really good making-of material available on this film - location footage, interviews with the cast and crew, B-Roll Footage. Disney included it on their CD-ROM presskit, but nothing is here on the DVD.
Very unfortunate that I waited nearly six years for this to come to DVD, and this is the best Disney could do. If it wasn't such an enjoyable film, it'd have gotten even less points. But, at least it's widescreen, despite the packaging and Disney's site info. Shame that they couldn't have put even a little bit of effort into making this DVD nice.
7 Disney screw it up again!
He we go again, from Angels in the outfield having an anamorfic menu, and then poor non animorphic movie, they continue the stupidity. JUNGLE TO JUNGLE is a great family movie with no doubt wonderful wide views from the top of mountains and new york, so why not just put out yet another full screen version?
The Disney DVD department contiue to screw things like this movie, the Three Musketeers and so many more....
Get with the program Disney, wide screen is here to stay, animorphic is the only way to screen it, so for gods sake do it..
DONT BUY THIS DVD>>>
8 Another great film gets Panned and Scanned on DVD
Unlike most people, I have been looking forward to the DVD release of "Jungle 2 Jungle" for quite some time. When it was finally announced as coming to DVD in Region 1 this October, I was thrilled. I was hoping for some nice extras and a solid anamorphic widescreen transfer. But alas, Jungle 2 Jungle falls victim to one of a boatload of bad decisions by Disney's DVD department. This DVD will be Pan & Scan only. And barebones. It's a complete shame that Disney doesn't understand that people who like certain movies and wish to own them do not wish to own them cut up for the size of soon-to-be-outdated TVs. It was widescreen on laserdisc, but an even better alternative is to go with the European DVD versions which are widescreen. The Region 2 and Region 4 DVD releases are both barebones, but the movie is in anamorphic widescreen and not cut up. After several delays, Jungle 2 Jungle finally makes its American DVD debut, and yet it falls short of what has already been released elsewhere in the world a few years ago! If you like this movie, you'll pass on this DVD and show Disney that you want all films (no matter what genre) to be in their original aspect ratio (be it Academy Ratio as with classic films or Widescreen as it is for the great majority of modern cinema) on DVD. What a letdown!
9 Guy From Enterprise
I bought the movie for one reason. Dominic Keating. He plays Ian the Director for the fashion channel show on Tim Allens' wife. He plays Malcolm Reed on Enterprise. And oh my god it was worth it. His hair is totally off the hook. It was Glorious!
The movie is a good flick to take to a babysitting job just watch out if the kid begin to thinks he's a indian. Trust me.
The movie is a total remake on another story I believe set in Paris. But this was a great remake I think.

10 The Best
This movie is the best! I like the plot and everything...but do you know the number one reason i like it? FRANKIE GALASSO! He plays Andrew in the movie and is sooo cute! Hes like 12 in the movie and is 17 now, but hes still the cutest thing! I like the whole movie but i mostly jump and get happy when Frankie comes on the screen!
11 frankie galasso
this is the best movie! frankie galasso who plays andrew is the best! he's soooo cute. it's really funny, and it's great for people of every age! u should really watch it!
12 tim allen is very funny,
Tim allen is great in this movie and my review is to tell you that this will probally be the movie to keep. because tim and the twin towers are in this movie alot. hes actually worked in that tower in this movie. and this would be a classic for history and so on. that the world trade center is shown real good and that will miss it seen alot.
13 This Is So Funny and Frankie Galasso Was So Adorable In It!!
I originally checked out this movie because I'm a MAJOR Dream Street fan and Frankie J. Galasso, who plays Andrew in the movie, is a member of DS. So I decided to see little Frankie, (and iI'm glad, he was so cute when he was little!), but now I love this movie because it is hilarious! Check it out! And you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll love Andrew...
14 People-friendly movie
Very funny and enjoyable movie for people of all ages. Sam Huntington is a name that rings a bell, but I can't seem to remember where he's from so I'll look him up on Search later. This movie kicks around a lot of jokes, over-accenting how weird Mimi Siku is in relation to the citizens of NYC but also including deeper issues on family, love, and learning to accept despite (or because of) our differences. Watch it asap.
15 From the Amazon to New York City, this movie is hilarious
Michael Cromwell (Tim Allen) is an executive who is planning on getting married real soon. But in order to get married he has to travel to the Amazon and find his wife (JoBeth Williams) and let her sign the divorce papers. When he travels to the Amazon and finds his wife, Michael finds out that he has a son. His son, Mimi-Siku (Sam Huntington) is a little bit different since he has been in the Amazon all his life. Mimi-Siku does such things as eat lizard guts and shoot flies with great skill. Michael promises Mimi-Siku to take him to New York when he becomes a man, but Michael doesn't know that on that island, his son will be a man in a matter of minutes. Now it's time to see how his son from the Amazon will do in the United States.
"Jungle 2 Jungle" isn't one of the best movies ever made, but it is pretty good. It has a good story and decent acting, but what makes it good is that it's hilarious. One of the funniest parts is when a huge tarantula chases Tim Allen around the beach. Scattered parts of the movie are hilarious, but it also has its serious parts along with the hilarious outbursts. I recommend anybody who likes good comedy movies to get "Jungle 2 Jungle."
16 Ok
This was kind of a dumb movie, ya know the first time you watch it you might like it but If you see it more than twice in a short period of time, its kinda pushin it, trust me!
17 A Disney Family Film That Will Bring A Smile To Your Face
Comedians Tim Allen & Martin Short along with newcomer Sam Huntington star in the hilarious Disney re-make of 'Little Indian, Big City.' In this version Allen portrays workoholic Michael Cromwell, a business minded man who travels to the Amazon in order to have the last divorce papers signed by his ex-wife, Patrica. Patrica left Michael 13 years ago pregnant with their son & unluckily for Michael his trip to the rain forest also scores him a meeting with his now 13 year old son, Mimi Siku (Huntington.)
Michael is forced to take Mimi to his home, in New York, in order for Mimi to complete a task given to him by the tribal leader. The task being to bring back fire from the Statue of Liberty. But Michael has to much of a busy schedule, in spending time with his fashion designer fiancee, planning the wedding, & finding a buyer for 5 tons of coffee beans, to spend time with Mimi. But Mimi's jungle instincts make it hard to keep him cooped up.
Also starring future teen idol LeeLee Sobieski, Jobeth Williams, Valerie Mahaffey, & Lolite Davidovich. This film is great when you need cheering up.
18 de ja vu all over again..
"Story about a man who goes to the Amazon to divorce his estranged wife and discovers he has a 13-year-old son, whom he brings back to..... Paris."
yep, bungle 2 bungle is hardly an original movie.. it's just a remake of a 1994 french film called "LITTLE INDIAN, BIG CITY"
19 An excellent movie for the whole family
Tim Allen, Martin Short and others shine in "Jungle 2 Jungle", one of the greatest Disney family films ever. The story is enjoyable, the scenery is great, the acting is top-notch, and overall, the film is hilarious. The whole family will enjoy this movie. Can't wait for a DVD release.
20 Your family will love it.
If you liked "HomeAlone" you will love this one. And the humor and family values are beter in this movie. It doesn't mather if you are a child or adult , you will learn something from this movie. So tell me, where would you like like to live in city or in the jungle? If you are not sure , wath this movie and start packing.
21 Tim is great
You can't go wrong with a Tim Allen movie. The supporting cast was also good; especially Sam Huntington as his son, Mimi-Siku.
22 Good for a night by yourself
If you are a young child you will love this movie. If you are an 18 year old like me you will get the adult jokes. This movie was mad to show you how different peoples lives can be. I loved this movie because it had a little romance a little action and a guy in a loincloth. Ok ok ok so that is the only weird part but it is still a good movie. Sam Huntington is a good actor and her should be reconized. Tim Allen was very funny and so was Martin Short. The story is good for children and for adults. The reason I titled this sit by yourself is because I am 18 and none of my friends want to watch it. I love it.
23 sam sam sam!
the first film starring one of filmdom's brightest young stars, the illustrious favorite son of new hampshire, master sam huntington.
there are some reasonablyfunny bits in the movie, but sam is the principal reason to see it; he manages to out-act tim allen by miles (granted, that's not too difficult) and his wardrobe deserved an academy award nomination for the costumes dept.
disney films were not this way when i was a tyke...
24 I thought this movie was intelligently done.
Tim was great and so was Martin Short and Sam Huntington. It was well writen and well done. It is a great family film.
25 Very Enjoyable!
I thought that Jungle 2 Jungle was an awesome and enjoyable movie! I think that it is good for all ages; not just children! Pretty much everyone in the movie was great in their character. This movie had some good filming, and cute scenes. The fact that Sam Huntington played Mimi-Siku was even better! He is one good actor! I think that the movie was cute, and I would see it again!
26 A very cute movie with excellent acting!
A great family movie!!! Lot's of fun filled excitement, fun for the whole family. I personally "LOVE" the actor Frankie who played as andrew, he's my favorite out of any in the whole world! A must see movie-you'll die laughing!
27 DISAPPOINTING!
This movie was very disappointing. I thought it would be fun because of Tim Allen but it wasn't. Skip this movie.

33 Excellent Family Film
Jungle 2 Jungle is an prime family film with excellent acting from Tim Allen and Lolita Davidovich and absolutely stellar acting from then unknown Sam Huntington (as Mimi-Siku).
34 It Starts In The Heart!
Tim Allen has struck again in a very entertaining and fully worthwhile film. For those who liked "The Santa Clause" you will love this film. Young Sam Huntington is great as Tim's son, Mimi, and the other support cast, including Martin Short and David Ogden Stiers are great also. I love watching this film, having seen it six times at the cinema and now several times on video. It is a must have for any lover of good quality family movies with an interesting story. Buy it - You'll love it!
