I ordered this from Amazon and it works as advertised. Better still, it has DRAMATICALLY improved the sound of my player in the car. With my old cassette adapter, the volume was very low (even with the player turned all the way up) and the bass/treble was messed up, so I had to make all sorts of adjustments whenever switching between my Rio player and the car radio. Even with all that it never sounded right. With the Koss cassette adapter, I actually had to turn the volume down on the player to match the radio volume, but now that I've done that I just plug it in and go (no more messing with all the settings) and it sounds great.
I think the people complaining here that this is a piece of junk because the power adapter didn't fit their player are misguided. If Amazon recommended this as an accessory for your player and the plug does not fit, then you should let Amazon customer support know they are making an erroneous recommendation. Most of the low ratings on here have nothing to do with the quality of the product when used with compatible players. For my RioVolt SP90, it has met and surpassed my expectations.
SEEM VERY FRAGILE
I have no point of comparison, so my opinion is not relative, but these components seem very fragile. With fairly rigid cables, I'm concerned at some point the cables will break away from the connectors, rendering these components useless.
TOO MANY SMALL WIRES
Yes there is only two wires, but with one coming out of the cassette player and one from the lighter, I have two tangled long fragile cords that go to my CD player. You end up with a tangled mess to pick up each time you use this player. I don't feel comfortable leaving it out, with teenagers hopping in and out of the vehicle with various sports bags, begging to be tangled in this set of wires. However, based on other car kits I've seen this is common. Here's where some heavier less fragile more flexible wires would be nice. Or maybe some kind of retraction device.
GOOD VALUE COMPARED TO RIOVOLT'S SITE'S KIT
Prior to purchasing this kit I went to RioVolt's site to see if they had a better deal. Their kit cost the same, however it seemed to only include the cassette attachment and not the lighter-power attachment. This one here is definitely a better deal.
It would be nice if someone designed a car kit that had more flexible, more durable wires with a storage case. I would be willing to pay twice as much.
Why would anyone buy a car adaptor if the odds were it didn't work with their CD player? (...)
