The Koss CDP-1689GCP is a personal CD player which plays audio CDs, plus CD-R discs. The key feature to the CDP-1689CP is the included car kit. This kit comes with a cassette adaptor and a cigarette lighter DC adaptor, the two necessary accessories to make any personal CD player vehicle-ready. The forty-second anti-shock system is a huge plus when using the player either in the car or at the running/walking track. In fact, this sort of anti-shock system is good for any user who may encounter surprise jolts and vibrations while commuting, sitting in a coffee shop or studying in bed. The CDP-1689GCP runs via the DC adaptor, the AC adaptor, or batteries. To help save battery life, Koss allows you to turn off the anti-skip system when you do not expect rough handling. With four play modes (normal, repeat, shuffle and twenty-four track program) there are many options to enjoy the CD listening experience. Other notable features include: hold, resume, hyper-bass sound and a one-bit D/A converter. The color is a sleek and modern translucent purple finish. For added hip functionality, the included Koss stereo headphones match the color of the CD player.

1 Ehh could be better
I bought a Koss cd player a while ago at Tower, and so far it's my second one. The sound is cool, and I love the anti-skip button, but the whole player breaks down after about a year. The one I have now is just starting to go, and it's pissing me off so much. The only reason why I had bought it a second time was cuz no other player had an anti-skip button on it. This is definitely my last Koss, so if I were you, I'd save my 50 bucks to get something that lasts longer.
2 i liked it!!
well I would never give it to a 5 year old because ofcourse something like dropping it is bound to happen. But weither or not it is touchy in the "breakable" department, it is great for cars! The anti-skip is great and it has a resume button. Not to mention the coler is great!! So it may not be great for the little ones or if you plan to go jogging with it, it's great to use in the car, studing, reading, or just hanging out! Not prefect, but not half bad.
3 Hello Koss Customer Service!
I bought this for my 5 1/2 year old son, who loves music, purple and anything technical. You might say 5, way to young, but here's the story ... He was listening to a CD, by the way he loved the color, and the player dropped out of his hands breaking the top. Lots of tears, it was a christmas present, this happened on New years eve. I called Koss, told them he dropped it, WELL, the response was not good. They said that he voided any warranty by dropping it. Anyone could have dropped it, it's not like he slammed dunked it across the kitchen floor. They further said, mail it back with all accessories and for forty more dollars (check included),we will send a new one. I said, "The player is the only thing broken, can't I just get it replaced?" The answer was no. I then asked, "Since I have to pay full price, can't you just mail a new one, without me sending it back?" Again the answer was no. Now I know he dropped it, and maybe I shouldn't expect anything, but there was no I'm sorry it broke, no what can I do to have this customer buy an another Koss product. Sorry I won't.

Nature abhors a hero. For one thing, he violates the law of conservation

fittest keeps putting himself in situations where he is most likely to be
creamed?
