1 Picture & Sound Great
My daughter presented me with this Koss DVD Player and seeing the price I became negative. Was I surprised. She hooked it up in a few minutes, the instructions were simple to follow and she loaded the new DVD into the player, it read the DVD and I was so delighted with the picture & sound featured on my 17" TV. I'm a senior citizen and not acquainted with technology of today and it was ideal for me. I also played a CD on the player and the sound was incredible. This was the best gift I have received other than jewelry when hubby was alive. Buy it, you will not be sorry.
2 KOSS
DON'T BUY IT! I bought a KOSS DVD player and it broke in 6 months. I was told I was out of luck because the warranty is only 90 days. They do not do repairs. My only option is to buy a new one and wasn't even offered a discounted price for it. I have seen several complaints like mine about KOSS on the web. They make JUNK and they make it to last just to get past the warranty period and then it breaks. Oh, by the way I loved it until it broke.
3 Good DVD Player
The Koss KD250 works very well. Although it can't beat a $$$ panasonic dvd player in sound and video quality, it sure wins on price. Not only did it do everything as advertised, it also has some hidden features not advertised. Inside my box were instructions on how to unlock the region code restrictions and also how to enable VCD player mode. If your box did not include these instructions, just do a quick search on the web for DVD Hacks and you will have instructions soon enough.
4 Two players skip "bad" sections of new DVDs
I bought this DVD player as a cheap second system. The first DVD I tried played perfectly, but the second kept skipping sections with the message that it was skipping over bad spots. Since the DVD was new, had no scratches and played perfectly on other players I assumed the player was defective and traded it for an identical player. The new player worked with that DVD, but with the very next DVD the problems were back. I'm returning the second Koss player today and looking for another brand.
5 Great player at reasonable rates
I have a Toshiba DVD player in my living room and was looking for one for my bedroom. I found...this modelI figured how couild I go wrong. I picked it up, and it plays DVD's as good as my Toshiba. It also plays all of my MP3' files so it has an advantage over my other system.
I liked it so much I bought one for my summer place in NY state.
My only complaint would be the remote. They could make it easier to use.
6 Great machine!
I bought this machine refurbished from an electronics liquidation store, so naturally I was really apprehensive and ready to take it back at even the tiniest glitch. I've had it for 3 months now and it's GREAT! It plays all the disc-types it says it does, has a great sleek look to it, has some nifty menu options and crystal clear picture. I like it so much (I love all KOSS products) that I bought a KOSS 5.1 surround sound package to hook to it, though unfortunately I haven't had the chance yet. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
7 Koss KD260 DVD
i got this yesterday for CDN 100.00 and so far it works great. I can also EXCHANGE it (within a year)...
WE all know that these are sort of refrubished models.....
So far so good.....Happy THX Giving Rgds, Ak
8 Buy a good VCR instead of this machine!
This machine works...and that's all it does. The picture quality is horrible. You can see lines going across your screen when the picture is black. My old VCR works better! The remote control doesn't work well either. Frankly, the only thing this machine has going for it is the price.
9 Pretty Good
It's going on three months now and I must say it is a pretty good little machine. It has given me no trouble at all playing DVDs or CDs. Even home recorded CDs paly well.
10 Shot down
I was quite excited seeing the Koss so cheap in Canada, and better yet my friend recommended it. He glowed about how well it worked. Being a techno geek I thought no problem. I unpack, hook-up, put batteries in the remote, and turn it on, but nothing. Notta anything. Everything was hooked up correctly, but the remote didn't work (even tried new batteries), nor did any button on the machine (excluding the power button). I was so ticked that my new toy didn't work. I managed to put in a cd (A Christmas Story)and got it to play by hitting the power button a few times but i couldn't stop or eject or do anything else. Only the power button opened and closed the cd tray. I shall return it tomorrow ...to replace this faulty dvd player and hopefully they have built a better one for me by then, as I have heard great things about the Koss system.
11 Absolutely foolproof!
First let me say, this is the first DVD- player I bought and the main reason I chose this one was the price. But I'm really happy with it, it's so easy to set up (took me about two minutes and I'm really not a genius when it comes to these things!) and I also had no trouble at all to figure out its various functions. The remote looks a little [inexpensive], but it works just fine and is not complicated at all (I'm the type of person who turns on the ceiling-fan when I try to change the channel on the TV but this remote is easy to handle) ;-)
The DVD player plays everything I tried up to now (DVD, MP3, ..)even older CD's with some scratches didn't cause any problem.
Probably for an experienced person who wants more than just watch a movie or listen to some music this is not the right thing, but for a "beginner" like me it's just perfect.
12 works fine
...Anyway, works fine. Sharp silver look. Plays mp3 disks.. meaning you can load hours of music into it from a single burned CD. However, does not appear to play VCD's...
