Linksys (WPG54G) PRESENTATION PLAYER 54MPBS
1 Close, but it needs more speed
The Wireless-G Presentation Player is one hell of a device. It works great and doesn't require any other hardware to connect to it. I just got done testing one of these out today and it's faster and way more reliable then the OTC WiJET product that I had the aggravating displeasure to work with a couple weeks ago.

However, the Presentation Player is still limited to hardware constraints like all Wireless G display transmitters. Sending the screen to a projector wirelessly is still limited to 1024x768 or 800x600. The frame rate is under 24fps so it chugs with power point presentations with slide transitions if the images in the slides get too large. I found that at 800x600 with basic color the frame rate was still not at 24fps but acceptable.

To address the issue Linksys has added nonvolatile ram to the device to allow you to upload directly to it 32MB worth of power point presentations. You can also plug in USB flash memory to accomplish the same goal. The OTC WiJET doesn't have this feature.

In addition you can also connect the computer directly up to the Wireless G Presentation Player via cat5 if desired. This is another feature that the OTC WiJET lacks. This may not sound like a big deal until you try to configure the device to integrate it into the network and the wireless connection settings are set incorrectly by the previous user

That's brings me to resetting the system to factory settings. To reset the WiJET you must use a bent paper clip to hit the reset wait for the machine to half way reboot and then reset it again within a 10 second window of time. You won't know if it reset until it's halfway rebooted after that. To say it's a pain in the butt is an understatement.

Not to mention that the OTC WiJET requires that you buy a wireless display adapter in addition to an OTC WiJET Wireless receiver that takes up a USB port and the Ethernet jack.

That said if you want this sort of product the Linksys Wireless-G Presentation Player WPG54G is the item to get, forget OTC.
