1 Great Mouse
Logitech brand says it all. Like the extra buttons. Never tried it on hardcore gaming. Would recommend Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse for gaming. So if you're not a serious gamer this mouse is perfect.
2 WOW ITS BEEN ONLY...... ONE MONTH?
If your a hardcore gamer, i would not recommend this mouse. After a month of intensive training in CS Source, the MX310 stoped working properly. The LED turns on and off, jamming your curser every 5 seconds, making it EXTREMELY ANNOYing to use my computer in general. What i really dislike is the "Technical Service." They give a number that doesn't work and that most likly is located in India. Never again Logitch, im sticking with Microsoft.
3 Great mouse
I just upgraded from a Microsoft Wireless Intelimouse Explorer and could not be happier. The mouse fits my hand like a glove. Over all the buttons are all very well placed for me and the precision is unmatched. I could have bought the more expensive MX 500 but they have the same exact optical engine. The only difference is design. What a great mouse.Logitech has always done a great job
4 Love it or hate it; not much middle ground
The ergonomics on this mouse are either wonderful or terrible, depending upon how you hold it.
Wonderful: If you rest your hand on it with thumb and pinky finger resting in the side grooves, it feels fine. If your hand is the right size, this mouse becomes a semi-luxurious hand cradle.
Terrible: If you hold the mouse in pretty much any manner other than that described above, it's terrible. A sharp edge running down each side of the mouse catches at your joints in a manner that is at first just vaguely irritating, and eventually (after hours of use) distracting and uncomfortable.
Test drive this mouse on the display shelf at your local CompUSA/Best Buy/Office Depot/Whatever. Close your eyes and rest your hand on the mouse. If your hand instinctively molds to its surface, don't waste time looking at other mice. You've found your mouse, and you won't be disappointed.
If your hand does not immediately accept the position suggested by this mouse's design, move on and don't look back; you'll never get used to it.
Unfortunately for me, I fell into the latter category. After about 10 hours of continuous use at work, mine went back to the store. It's a shame, as this was otherwise a quality mouse.

PS - this mouse does not work with my KVM (IOGear MiniView Plus 2 port PS/2 + audio: B0000512HI).
5 A quality product that delivers
Just like one of the previous reviewers, I had a MS IntelliMouse and didn't think I could ever find another that I liked as much, in spite of it's occasional nasty little habit of flipping out on me, which meant I had to reboot, and then it would be fine. Looking back, I don't know how I put up with it for so long. One of the reason I love this mouse so much is because I have a small hand (size 5 glove if that helps you) and it fits perfectly in my hand. Very comfortable to use and I'm at it for ten, twelve hours a day. The back and forward button placement is superior to the MS mouse and much more solid and responsive. I use the scrolling wheel constantly for my particular work. The quick switch program selector button is incredible and suits my work to a tee, as I usually manage to have at least ten windows at a time open. You just click the button and up pops a menu of every window you have open, and it's in nice big print. With my old mouse, I had to keep "reigning it in" but not with this one. Very little movement required to zero the cursor in on whatever. This is an overall excellent product and I'm now sold on this brand. I would say Logitech = quality.
6 Great for Gaming/Standard Use
This mouse is the overall the "Best" mouse you can get. I put quotes around it because i know there are people out there where they buy like these 200 dollar mice and its like totally awesome, but if your using this just for like regular computer use it is the best and cheapest one you will get. And i suggest that you dont buy L0giteCh products thats under the price of 50 dollars cause i have a wireless keyboard and mice from l0gitech and although it was "Smooth" and "Easy to operate" the ball would get dirty really fast so your mouse would studder and once in awhile the keyboard and mice would lose connection to the reciever(especially if you have a sucky comp).

For all you gamers out there this mouse gives you awesome quality! it has everything you need from the scroller to MOUSE3.
Ive tested this mouse for Counter-Strike, Starcraft, Warcraft, and SIMS. If you play one of these games and dont wanna spend a whole lot o money for a mouse this Mouse is definetly for you.
7 Next best thing to the MX 500
I had this mouse before switching to the MX 500. Only because the price of the MX 500 dropped and I promised never to spend more than $30 on a mouse. This puppy is perfect for surfing the web and meets adequate gaming needs. it's light and great if you're left handed. If you're looking for an entry level mouse, this is the best you can get .... nothing beats it's accuracy.
8 Nice mouse
Great mouse, cheap and works great. The back and forward buttons are amazing, no more having to move the mouse all the way to the browser's button :-). The tracking is wonderful, I have experienced zero lags or "errors." Everything works and the mouse feels comfortable in the hand, no doubt because it is light. The ambidextrous design should be welcome for lefties.
9 slick and easy to use
I just got this mouse on Amazon and love it. It's accurate and smooth and very comfortable to use. The extra buttons are extremely convenient- I really like the "back" and "forward" buttons on the side for web surfing. For normal daily use, I suggest this optical mouse over the others by Logitech and Microsoft.
10 sticking buttons after 6 months
I replaced my Microsoft Optical Mouse with the MX 310 and initially felt very happy with my decision. The Logitech has a much more solid feel with more precise control. After 6 months the right mouse button started to stick and more recently the left button would intermittently require more force to click. It has become extremely annoying having to consciously push the mouse buttons each time, almost like having to push hard on a pen top to get it to unsheath.
I wrote to Logitech with my problem and they said to bring it to a service center. I'm going to bring it back to Best Buy and see if they'll fix or replace it.
11 Smooth/Precise
Two weeks ago, I bought my first optical mouse - a Microsoft "Optical Mouse Blue". Unfortunatley I soon learned about optical "jitter". I was unable to get smooth movements for small movement involving editing of digital photos, etc.
So I replaced it with the MX310. Yes, this is the way it should be - small movements are smooth - like my old ball mouse used to be. It seems to glide across the pad easier than the Microsoft. And I was able to keep my old comfortable mouse pad - that I didn't want to give up for a new pad designed for optical mice.
12 Impressive quality and performance
I got this mouse to replace my Micro$oft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 which was, at the time I purchased it, Micro$oft's best mouse. Long story short, the MS mouse broke after about 6 months although I really liked it while it lasted.
After a few days of use I have to say the Logitech outperforms the MS in every aspect except comfort and that's the main reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I have average size hands for a man and this mouse just isn't as comfy as the larger, flatter, asymetrical MS mouse. Other nit-picks: The location of the forward button and the application selector button(both of which I never use anyhow). It's an awkward reach to use either one.
On the plus side the buttons feel solid with a nice, positive click that's pretty quiet. The wheel feels solid too, with just enough resistance to prevent accidentally clicking while scrolling. Cursor movement is the smoothest I've ever experienced and this thing is great for gaming. The bundled MouseWare 9.76 is nice if you want the customization and the application selector button, though I choose not to use it. Performs great with or without the MouseWare installed.
All in all a great mouse, especially when you consider the price.
13 not a great 5 button programable mouse
I just bought this mouse and wanted to get rid of it right away.
Drawbacks:
1. The Switch Application button (the one on top) is located way back. I always have to curl my finger hard to press this button.
2. The palm rest is two high and it feels like you do not rest your palm at all. Sometime, it hurts your ankle
3. The Back button is designed way back. I do have to pull my hand back to be able to press this button => extremely inconvenient
4. The Forward button is located on the right, I rarely use it since it hurts my little finger everything I tried to locate and push it
5. The software does not work instantly. Sometime, it takes a few seconds to close the application compared with instantly by selecting Close application button on the application window.
6. If you use mouse a lot while surfing internet, I do not recommend this mouse. You are not able to combine relaxing your palm on this mouse and using all 6 buttons at the same time.
14 Mouse makes it easy to be productive
Logitech's leap towards enhancing the the fabrication of these "human interface devices" (as they are known by Windows XP) has become an ongoing legacy for their consumers. Their latest release in the mouse community is the new MX310. This mouse boasts the latest Logitech MX Optical Engine (present in all Logitech "MX" branded optical mousing devices). In addition these enhanced mice also contain a quick switch program selector, convenient internet navigation buttons (forward and backward), a high precision scroll wheel and it is designed for both right and left handed users. It sounds pretty well rounded, but is it up to snuff; will it stand up to the extreme user? (Full review @ bytesector.com)
15 Good mouse & value for price
(...) I tried marble mouse (don't like the feel) & microsoft basic optical mouse. I wanted logitech for sure (also have elite keyboard - best one). After looking at size (small for my hand but works great) thought let's give it a try. It has 3 additional button apart from middle wheel & two click buttons.
It is perfect in all area. If you want bigger size go with MX 500 or MX 700 if you like to spend some more. Otherwise this is great for price. My wife can use this without any problem because of size. Buy it.
16 Excellent Product
I wasn't surprised the MX310 worked so well. I have used Logitech mice for years and have never had a problem. The MX310 has a great feel and is very responsive. Great for games.
I would like to get the MX700 - the cordless product. It has recieved excellent reviews.
17 great mouse for Mac OSX
It's no longer a tragedy that the Mac only comes with a pathetic one-button mouse. If it came with a two-button one, it probably wouldn't be as good as this one anyway. For less than $30, you could be right-clicking, scrolling, and customizing other buttons with this baby! Nice and smooth, good feel to the buttons.
Oh, it's probably good for PC's too.
18 smooth moving
I am no computer whiz and have just replaced an 8 year old computer with a new, modern one. That meant getting rid of the old keyboard and mouse. I wanted to start fresh. Before, I had an old style, rolling ball mouse. I thought it worked okay at the time, but after I bought this one (it's optical, and not a rolling ball one), I was surprised by how much more stable this mouse kept the arrow key on the screen. The scroll down wheel on the top of the mouse is a wonderful extra. Instead of having to click and stay on that darn bar on the right side of the screen when you want to move a page up or down, you just roll the wheel on the mouse with your finger and it does it for you. I will never get a mouse that doesn't have that feature again. This one also has a neat feature of having two little buttons on the sides that act as your back button and your forward button. So when you want to go back to the page you were just at, you can click it with your finger instead of dragging the mouse to the back button on your screen. Super convenient and handy. There are mouses twice the price of this, but I can't imagine them being any more nicer to use. Plus I got mine on sale, so I am very satisfied with it.
19 A little smaller.
Technically, the mouse works great so far. But compared to my Kensington Mouse-In-A-Box Optical Pro
, it's a bit small for my hand. If I am in a posture where my hand is resting on the mouse, the heel of my palm is dragging on the mouse pad. With my arm extend more, that's less of a problem, but even then my thumb and little finger (nestled in the ergonomic grooves on the sides of the mouse) brush against the mouse pad if I'm not careful to move them a little higher.
