1 Great Little Device`
I have had my mouse and keyboard for about a year now, and so far, no problems. I still have the orginal batteries in my keyboard.
Here is a little list of things that I do not like about the keyboard and mouse:....... none.
Here is a list of what I like about this mouse and keyboard:............ Everything.
2 Always precise and Drivers are Great
I've been using Logitech mice for 8 years now without a hitch and the Elite Duo is still excellent. The problem with Tracking or Skipping is ALWAYS attributed to the Transmitter location and it's very sensitive so you must experiment with location.
Once you have it down you can use it from another room and Logitech always updates & perfects their drivers. I use an Elite Duo with my Older Mouseman PS2 Ball and a Keyboard Serial touchpad not to mention the extra PS2 keyboard and have 0 problems.
Battery life could be better in the mouse but when you use it for 12h/7d/365 I guess it can be a problem. I use NIMH rechargeables and get about 3 weeks.
PS: you can easily switch hands with this mouse if you're good too.
3 Excellent !
I uses it for about 8 months and I only the battery once on my keyboard !! For the mouse, it uses about 2 batteries every 1.5 month. Not bad at all. I wish the LED on the mouse can be turn off sooner after idle time, it will save evern more energy. Response is great, I do not see delay at all.
One issue is on the keyboard, I wish the spring on the keys are same height as normal keyboard, so I can press deeper as I try. As I hit the key, I have to reduce my force so I do not hit the key too hard. The spring on the keys seem too light too, my fingers get tire easier on this keyboard than a normal keyboard.
4 Ok setup, but too middle ground.
I have been using my Logitech Cordless Elite Duo system for about 6 months now and am somewhat satisfied with the quality of the product. If I had the choice to buy a keyboard again (which I will soon) I would for out a little extra for the rechargable mouse. Since this is a battery keyboard and mouse I find that I am using about 6-8 AA batteries every 5 weeks or so. I am just a little more than your average computer user, but not much. One problem I did have was the driver download of the logitech website. My F-keys are all messed up and do not seems to match the program I have (after much review to ensure what I thought was correct). One good thing is the fact that the default PNP windows op systems does operate with this setup without the need for installed drivers/software. I would only choose this setup if I was on a budget but wanted to have wirless now. I do overall think logitech is a good company from past experience.
5 Logitech Wireless keyboard and mouse with spin wheel..
We burn through a lot of keyboards: the only complaint here is that the keyboard is noisy, with clattering, and that can be solved by one of those soft plastic key-cover things.
Okay: the wrist rest is comfortable. The buttons at the top let you log off user (which shuts computer down, be careful!) pulls up email, Instant messenger/sms, Webcam, Media, will mute colume, pull up your home page and do a computer search!
The mouse is great: now everywhere I go I'm trying to spin a wheel to scroll down, this is so convenient.
Altogether a great keyboard/mouse combo.
6 Mac users beware. PC gamers beware
Software support for OS X is terrible. Causes kernal panics and will not allow you to use Expose in OS 10.3(Panther). PC Games seem to make you jump through hoops to setup the mouse with each game. Buy an Micro$oft set instead.
7 Like the little girl with the little curl...
...when it was good it was very, very good, but when it was bad it was horrid.
This is a caveat emptor comment, not a product review per se. I bought this particular wireless combo because it was the only one I could find that had the ability to make a secure connection between the keyboard/mouse and the receiver. I've had it for about a year, it's been a pleasure to use and has operated flawlessly...until this week when suddenly and for no apparent cause, the keyboard began behaving erratically, and died the next day. My online research found that the problem (sudden loss of F key function and malfunction of hot keys, then sudden death) is not uncommon to this product. Logitech's web site has diagnostics aplenty, none of them pertinent to this problem. The lights are on and there seems to be a few people home at e-mail support, but they were about as useful as a teat on a boar.
The product is still under warranty and could be replaced had I time jump through all the hoops Logitech has held up to be jumped through to obtain an RMA, and if it wouldn't cost more to pay for the required and potentially lengthy call to Logitech's customer service line (not toll free), packing materials for the keyboard, and shipping than it would to buy a brand new unit. So, great product, a pleasure to use, but when it dies before its time, not so much.
8 If the stupid function keys worked, I wouldn't return it.
I tried this keyboard for a week. I really liked most things about it, but it has a killer weakness. The function keys don't work the way they should. When you boot, they are in this new "enhanced" mode. Some enhancement. I've been using computers for over 25 years, and now they change the function keys? They put a key on the keyboard that lets you toggle it, but you have to hit it every single time you boot! If you forget, you're doing stupid things like cutting and pasting or sending email instead of the action you thought you were taking.
If they had an option to make it default to the normal state, I'd have kept it, but it's a deal breaker as is. I would have given this combo a 5 otherwise. I love the mouse, and cordless hookup is wonderful! This has to be the most bone-headed thing I've ever seen. I suppose if you never use your function keys, this keyboard will be great, but it's ridiculous as is. Get this - you have about 1/2 second to hit the FLock key (to toggle the function keys at boot) so you can hit the F2 key to get into the BIOS on your machine, or to hit F8 to get into safe mode. Hope you didn't miss it. I've been a happy and faithful Logitech user for 15 years. I will never buy another of their keyboards again as long as this feature is unchanged.
9 only one problem......
my dad got this combo or whatever and the only problem i see with it is that the mouse never goes off and it just eats up the battery...he has to replace the batteries like every 2 days or whatever...and it feels wieird...not normal like other mouses, very wieird shape
10 Great keyboard and mouse!
Easy setup and works very well! Both the mouse and the keyboard have a comfortable feel. I have had no problems so far with battery life, although I have not had the set for long. Cordless is wonderfully freeing and I highly recommend this item.
11 Great Keyboard & Mouse...need to buy rechargable batteries
I think this combo is great. It works well and installation was no problem. My only complaint is the battery life on the mouse. Just within the past week I started getting "Mouse Battery Level Critical." messages. I've only had it for about a month so I was surprised to see that already. But after reading the other reviews, I see I'm not alone. Its not that big of a deal though, I just need to buy some rechargable batteries. I still feel I got my money's worth. Wireless is awesome. I'm planning on buying another set for my father's computer. Just waiting for the price to go down. Hope this helps.
12 Great keyboard/mouse set, better than MicroSoft
I just received this, we bought from Amazon , what a deal!
The setup took less than 3 minutes and it works great! The keyboard has a great smooth soft touch feel, not the cheap loud plastic keys and the mouse is very comfortable with rubber tabs on the sides for great gripping. There is an extra button on the left side for your thumb, we have this set to be the double click for quick launch and exit to programs. The extra hot buttons on the keyboard are great, auto launches into ebay, yahoo, mail or whatever you want.
Definately recommend!!!
13 Excellent quality. Mouse sucks batteries.
The keyboard is lightweight, robust and has a pleasant soft touch feel of typing. In addition, it has been over four months and the batteries are yet to be replaced.
The mouse, on the other hand, has been through approximately five changes of batteries. I recommend buying a good set of rechargeables for this. However, response is excellent and works at a fair range from the base. I've made it work at up to ten feet with line of sight from the base unit.
The extra features are great. The customizable buttons, volume wheel and on-board play controls are extremely useful - especially the play controls as they allow me to stop, start, skip forward in all of the media applications that I use (WinDVD, Windows Media Player, Winamp, RealPlayer, PowerDVD).
All in all, a great buy. Don't forget the batteries.
14 You will never get Mail in Rebate
Well, this keyboard and mouse are good. But, dont buy this if your buying it because of MAIL IN REBATE. You will never get the mail in rebate.
15 Nearly perfect
Industry leader Logitech demonstrates why it is the best.
The Elite Duo not only has the outstanding but also thoughtful design. So many previews revealed how good the product is. Personally I love it. However, there're few thing has to be told.
The mouse eats the batteries like hell! Since there's no way to shut down the power except manually, I almost exchange 2 AAs every 3-4 weeks. I'm not talking about Walgreen batteries but Duracell Ultra AAs. Within less than 12 months. I spent more than $30 on batteries which equals to a non-wireless optical mouse.
Another thing about the mouse is the arrow sometimes jumps around with no reason. Even after I downloaded the latest patch, it doesnÁ?t improve too much. So if you are a die hard first person shooting game fan. You better watch out for the Á¤special effectsÁ¬.
To sum up, those imperfections donÁ?t change my opinion too much. I still gave it 4 stars. In the future, I will definitely buy its successor, Elite Duo Bluetooth.
16 good stuf
it works like a charm, i like it so much that everytime i use a different mouse it feels awkard cuz this one is so comfortable
17 great combo, painful rebate!
this wireless combo from logitech is better than i had expected/hoped! the mouse tracks perfectly and has a thumb button for the 'back' function on your browser (or you can re-progam it for other functions, though i don't know how i ever used a mouse without a 'back' button for my browser - a life-changing function). keyboard is great too - and after the rebate it's $40 all-in - unbeatable. but i beat my head against the wall for almost a month after they denied my rebate for no reason and then lost radio contact (way too much trouble for $20, but i fought on principle) - logitech outsources rebate processing to a third party, and they're incompetent, beaurocratic, etc. that being said, i finally got the rebate and for the money you can't touch this combo......
18 Whaddya want for nothing?
When I bought this, it was on sale with a $50 mail in rebate -- bear that in mind when reading.
This works exactly as is should...keyboard layout, feel design is a matter of religion. If you hate some keyboards, there's a chance you might hate this one to, so check it out in person. I have never hated a keyboard, and I don't hate this one...I don't use alot of the stuff on it, but it's fine for what I do -- alot of typing. I was not *thrilled* with the angle, but it's not a disaster either. I type alot on a daily basis, and this is fine for those purposes.
The mouse is also adequate to normal computer use. But if you play 1st person shooters, you might want to think about having a dedicated USB optical mouse for that. This mouse is ok for most things, but it's not the best.
19 Nice Combo, But Get the Cordless MX Duo if You Can.
It's been 11 months since I got this Cordless Elite Duo. At under 50 bucks, you can't go wrong with this combo.
Bottom line? Get the Elite Duo if you'd like a good mouse, but if you can spare the few extra dollars, get the Cordless MX Duo. You get the same exact keyboard, but a much, much nicer mouse (the MX700). Just think - better tracking, a charging base, 2 NiMH batteries included for the mouse (2 alkalines included for the keyboard.) If the MX Duo was available last year, I would have opted for that one instead.
But, if you want a pretty good mouse with a programmable thumb button (I programmed it as a back button), this Elite Duo is a good deal, alkaline batteries included. I've used it on a number of machines, ranging from Athlon XP 2600+ Barton system, to my brother's PS2.
On a PS2, it's great. No need to use your controller to type when you're gaming online, just plug in the RF receiver and type away your "GG"s with your new wireless keyboard. It's sweet.
I know you're supposed to keep the keyboard and mouse about 6' from the receiver, but I can't help it sometimes! If you use your computer as entertainment center like I do, you'll be surprised to know that you can lug the keyboard to the other end of the house, and it'll still function. I'm talking at least 25' here. Go to the next rooms and use the "Next Track", volume, or other buttons to control your songs. Kinda like a big remote control that works through walls. Nice.
Regarding to all the extra buttons on the keyboard, I don't use them all that often, with the "2nd mouse wheel" as the exception. The keyboard includes a 2nd mouse wheel on the left side, which can be programmed do one any one of several things. I use it as a volume button, as the dedicated volume button at the top center of the keyboard is too bothersome to reach for all the time. The nice thing is that all the buttons are customizable, so that you can program launch programs or websites of your choice.
As for gaming, personally I'd use another mouse. The Cordless Mouseman Optical that comes with this duo is OK, but I notice just enough lag to get on my nerves. Maybe I'm just spoiled, or maybe it's just my LCD. But for everything else under the sun, the mouse is fine.
FYI. My last motherboard was a MSI K7T266 Pro 2-A (do you know what that is? Do you care?). Anyways, whenever I wanted to go into BIOS, or whenever I wanted to boot from my Windows XP CD, I'd have to use a wired keyboard because the mobo wouldn't load the USB in time. Also, the receiver would momentarily cut out once in a while, as if it lost USB connectivity. Again, my setup might be to blame.
Someone said something about this duo not working with USB hubs? Personally, I've connected it to a Linksys USBHUB4C hub, and it worked like a charm... for months. I connected it to a cheap Iogear GUH174 hub, still works until now. *Shrug*
All in all, the Elite Duo works nicely, and has stood the test of time. The question really is price versus performance - The Elite Duo vs. the MX Duo. Go for the MX Duo, but you can't go wrong with the Elite Duo.
20 Great Product-No Rebate Though
This product is great, but you'll never get your rebate. The company Logitech uses for rebates is unreachable. They won't respond to your emails and they have no phone number. I have resubmitted per their instructions and still no reply. Good luck!
21 Logitech's greatest keyboard and mouse combo
At under $50 this keyboard and mouse is great! Logitech has came out with a new combo (the MX duo) which made them lower this sets price. I bought one and liked it so much I boght a second one! the have there pros and cons. One thing I didnt like was the palm rest for the keyboard is very unconforatble and the keyboard doesnt have much of a tilt to it. Other then that, I love this keyboard. The mouse is also great, I love the back button and the way it fits your hand, if you plan to use it left handed though, it wouldnt work so great. Im right handed so that doesnt effect me. Windows picked the set up so I still havent installed the software. Im having no problems without it. The media buttons and back button on the mouse are by far my favorate things. The MX duo would have been great to have but it was more power then I need. This set is great for all right handed general computer users. Though if your really into gaming, I would advise you to buy the MX duo.
22 Great wireless combo!!
I've used this combo now for about 1 year. It has worked flawlessly and perfectly the whole time. I get constant updates from Logitech on the software, and it has allways performed perfectly even from 10 feet away. The keyboard is very quiet and comfortable, and the mouse feels very good. The mouse is slightly heavier than a wired mouse, but it has batteries in it. I bought some rechargable batteries and have only replaced them once in the keyboard, 3 times in the mouse. We have 5 users for the computer so it gets alot of use every day. The software notifies you when the batteries are low so they don't go dead while you are in the middle of something. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat!
23 Don't buy if you plan on connecting USB to hub
If you plan on using this Keyboard with a USB Hub, even self-powered, do not purchase this item. I have tried both the Belkin 7 port and Aten Technologies 4 Port Hub and the mouse does not work. Called Logitech Technical Support and their recommendation was that I return it as it is not recommended for use with a Hub. Unfortunately, no documentation on their web site or guidelines defines this as a problem. Furthermore, I have a laptop with only 1 PS/2 port and 1 USB port, but the Keyboard and mouse require 2 PS/2 ports. USB PCMCIA is not an option as those available are too bulky with my Wireless or LAN card.
24 Outstanding
This is an outstanding combination wireless keyboard and mouse. Never had a single problem with either. Battery life for the keyboard is about once every 8-10 months or so (being used about 2 hours/day, 7 days/week). Mouse batteries typically last about 6 months, so long as you use decent alkalines. Not sure why some are not pleased with the mouse. Yes, it's an odd design, but I got used to it quickly, and now I can't stand NOT using it! Button placement is fine, though I do have fairly large hands.
25 Fantastic Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Duo!
As soon as I got my logitech wireless keyboard and mouse duo I plugged them into my computer and turned it on. Windows XP picked them right up and they worked immediately. They have worked wonderfully. The keyboard is very quiet which is a very nice feature! The mouse setup is great and so is the keyboard! I highly recommend this wireless keyboard and mouse duo! Totally worth the money!
26 the keyboard worth the money you paid
I liked the keyboard very much, it is the most comfortable keyboeard I ever used, and functional keys are very cool.
However, the mouse [is bad], it is long, heavy and in a weird shape. the buttons are too small so that you need to bent your finger to an unatural angle to click it. And the thumb button is useless since you can never reach it. I know why people complain about battery life, this mouse is on all the time, even when your computer is shut down. And in my system (XP) the mouse only works when the receiver is connetected with USB, not PS/2.
I guess the keyboard and mouse are designed by different people, I spent [item price] only for a good keyboard.
27 Superb performers
This cordless replacement of conventional keyboard and mouse is the best you can have. Top performance ( even from 12 feet away),no glitches, no wires. Both items are loaded with features and buttons that help in many tasks. The price is more than great. I have three sets at home and buying one as a gift to my sister. A hint : if you like to watch a DVD on your PC, use the mouse as your remote control from as far as 15 feet.
28 Never will go to cords again!
I have had this for about 4 months now, and I couldn't be more pleased. The batteries last a long time, especially the keyboard (use rechargeables). I believe the keyboard lasts about 2 months and the mouse about 2-3 weeks, each with a pair of AA's. There is no lag when I play games such as Morrowind. I type about 30 - 40 words per minute (not much, I know) and there is no lag in the keyboard as well. It's great to use as a remote if you want to sit back and watch a movie on the computer. Overall, I love the less cluttered look, and it has worked perfectly for all I have used it for.
29 Good concept but poorly made
This was a gift for "the man who has everything". Great idea and he loved it... Until the mouse stopped working about 2 months after he got it. So now we have a wireless keyboard and our old standard wired mouse. I won't be buying Logitech again.
30 Works about 1/2 of the time - zero support from logitech
I have windows XP and a dell Precision 450. When I boot up, I get to the login screen. I mouse over to my user, type in my password - no problem. Both the keyboard and mouse work fine. When the computer logs me in, however, about half the time the mouse won't work. I found that the solution is to unplug the wireless base station and plug it back in. That's not what I signed up for.
I have contacted logitech about this numerous times and they do not even respond. All I want is my money back.
31 Best keyboard I've owned
Excellent keyboard. Have no complaints.
32 Sleek Keyboard and Mouse Make a Great Package!
I Love this Keyboard and mouse set! I have had it for seven months, and wish that all the computers I use had the same set. The one thing I have found personally is that the keyboard and mouse don't waste a lot of battery power, which was one of my concerns when I first bought the set. The range is well over the stated range for me. I can get 20+ feet (why I would need that, I don't know!) and wireless is a whole lot cleaner and nicer than the wired keyboards of yesteryear. The set up is very easy, and requires only the receiver and the associated software, which I honestly don't use very often. But the play button capability for music listening is a nice feature that I like, and use more than my sound card's remote. The optical mouse is much better than anything Microsoft offers, and works fast and efficiently for any application! If your looking for a keyboard and mouse, this is the best set you'll be able to find!
33 The best keyboard EVER!!
This is the most comfortable keyboard I've ever used. I was skeptical about the zero-tilt keyboard and I couldn't figure why it needed the hard plastic lip that hooks onto the front, but then I set it up and WOW!! You can lightly rest your palms on the lip, which allows you to keep your wrists straight, which eases the strain that can cause carpel tunnel syndrome. I can type all day long and haven't had the kind of wrist strain I did other keyboards. And because your hands are always in the proper position over the keys, your typing speed will improve. If you spend more time typing than you do pointing and clicking, the keyboard will make the mouse almost unnecessary because it has its own scrool wheel. You can control most everything from the keyboard. The dedicated keys are where they should be and the programmable keys allow you to customize, the best of both worlds.
The mouse is another story. It works wonderfully, but after about 10 minutes, my hand began to cramp. The mouse has a sort of lopsided hump, so if you use a mouse like I used to, gripping the sides with my thumb on one side, pinky with ring finger on the other side, leaving the index and middle fingers for the buttons 2 buttons and scrool wheel, then you'll probably have the same problem. Because of the thumb button, you won't be able to grip it properly and your hand will be in a very awkward position, and cramping is a sure thing. To avoid cramping, you have to basically palm the entire mouse, the lopsided hump makes it a perfect fit and all of your fingers will be in the perfect position to move the mouse back and forth, with your fingers in the correct position to use the buttons and eventually you'll wonder how you ever lived with that handy little thumb button. You can program all of the mouse buttons to your personal preferences and doing so is so simple, different users can reprogram to their own likes and dislikes. But the mouse does go through a lot of batteries. My daughter plays a lot of games using only the mouse and we need to change them an average of every 10 days. The good news is that they don't go dead suddenly. When the juice is low, you get a pop-up message telling you they're at a critical level and need to be changed. You can also check the level by clicking on the mouse icon in the system tray, so you do have fair warning. My old Microsoft optical mouse would notify me about 2 seconds before the mouse died, so this is an improvement, but still it can get expensive having to change them so often. Whether or not its worth it depends on how much you like having a wireless device. And as others have mentioned, there are times when the mouse will suddenly move across or down a page without warning, almsot as if it has a mind of its own. Sometimes I'll be trying to navigate in one direction and it'll seem as if an invisible hand is trying to send it in another direction. But, for me, its a hiccup that doesn't happen often enough for it to be a real problem, and it happens mostly when the batteries are low. So when it happens I consider it to be a sort of early warning system.
I've had no problems with the software rewriting my WinXP device software, it installed easily, configured itself and would probably have worked right out of the box had Logitech enclosed better instructions. There were no written, detailed instructions to help you set it up, there was one of those leaflets with pictures. You could figure out the basics but the steps needed to orient the devices was missing. So when I disconnected my old equiptment and hooked up the new, I found that find worked. And because it didn't work, accessing the help menu in the software wasn't possible cuz I couldn't point & click on anything. So I had to disconnect the new mouse, hook the old mouse back up, and go to the logitech site to troubleshoot the problem. The problem had to do with tiny buttons on the bottom of the mouse and keyboard, as well as a button on top of the receiver. You have to press the buttons on all three pieces a certain number of times, in a certain order. That will connect them to work on the same channel. But even the troubleshooting guide on the website didn't explain that clearly enough, I ended up having to call Logitech and talked through the procedure step by step. To be fair, the CS tech that assisted me was polite and helpful and I was on hold for less than 5 minutes. But the call wouldn't have been necessary if Logitech had included better instructions. Once they were connected, I was in business and outside of the mouse problems already mentioned, using the duo is easy and extremely convenient. The software will configure any input device you connect, whether its wireless or not. And being wireless and not tied to a desk is great, the mouse works on practically any surface, I can lounge back in my favorite chair and use my pant leg. Its worked from over 15ft away and you don't need to have either device pointed directly at the receiver, so the range is very wide. Both devices are attractive and the black/grey colors match my Dell perfectly. The materials have a sturdy and solid feel to them. The only piece that seems fragile is the hard plastic lip, though I haven't had a problem, its my belief that if it was struck or knocked with something hard, it would definitely crack & break. But overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase and recently purchased another duo for our other computer.
34 great when it works
I only still have it because my other keyboard/mouse options are very basic corded non-optical.
Sometimes the mouse won't work when I start up the computer and leave teh mouse in the charger.
Sometimes it doesn't work at all.
I have experienced having to restart multiple times before the mouse would work. And this is a brand new computer we are talking about here. 6/03
Today I had to reinstall the duo completely after restarting so many times I lost count.
It seems to not-work alot.
35 Very Nice Duo
I bought this duo as an alternative to my Apple Pro keyboard & mouse. After three weeks of use, I can not say but good things about both, the wireless keyboard and mouse. If you're still wired, and looking for a wireless solution, this is the deal.
For Mac users like me, the software works well under the latest version of Mac OS X (Jaguar 10.2.6), and I would recommend you download the latest version if it didn't come included in the CD (latest is 1.1.1). The only negative aspect I've found so far is that at times when you try a startup keyboard command (like command-S or left mouse button to eject a CD), it will not work. This is not a problem for me though, since I have the base station connected to one of the USB ports in my Apple Pro keyboard and I will use this for startup commands.
All in all, great deal. I might buy another soon.
36 Good Experience With Logitech
This, like every other logitech product I have owned, has worked flawlessly. My wife made me get this, because she was tired of my other keyboard's clicking. The keys are soft, but not too soft. I have had no problems with skipping or anything while playing Quake III. The software is great and easy to set up (I am using Mac OS X). So far, I would highly recommend this product.
37 Great Products!
Setup took maybe 5 minutes. Everything works great. The keyboard is very quiet and comfortable and so is the mouse. Both work just as well as if they were corded. I was able to use the keyboard at a distance of 10 feet without any problems.
38 Keyboard good, mouse not worth the plastic it was made of
I bought this combo knowing that the mouse might [not be good], and it was worse than I thought it was going to be. The mouse lags and skips and was made it very painful to simply navigate the desktop. The keyboard however is pretty good, and was the reason I bought the combo. I purchased the combo on sale ... because I really wanted a cordless keyboard, but unless you like laggy mice don't plan on being able to use the mouse that comes with it. My only complaints with the keyboard are the software and the play/pause button on the keyboard. The software is very primitive compared to the Microsoft keyboard software and does not allow you to map any key to whatever you want. Some keys can not be remapped, and the ones that can have a limited list of options. Furthermore the "Go" button and web buttons do not work with non Microsoft Browsers. My other issue with the keyboard is the play/pause button. It is way to sensitive to the point where when trying to paused a track, it will "double click" unless you tap it very very lightly and start the song over. Don't buy this combo unless it is at a price that you are willing to pay for just the keyboard.
39 A computer junkies point of view
I love the keyboard a lot, but the mouse has some to be desired. I often have stints of where I use my computer for gaming or for other things as many as 12 hours in a day. The batteries for this mouse last on average two weeks when used on my primary machine, but the batteries in the keyboard actually outlasted the hardware itself. (it quit working after a year, 1 week after it fell out of warranty)
I ended up just getting another kb and mouse new and moved it to my 2nd computer which i only use about 10 - 30 mins a day. Its been like this for about 4 months and i have yet to replace any batteries in either mouse or keyboard. I like the shape of the logitech keyboards so I ended up buying the corded version with the cordless MX700 mouse for my primary computer everything i didnt like about the cordless elite mouse is fixed on the mx700, plus it functions with the accuracy and refresh rate of a corded mouse.
I recommend that if you buy these you do not fall under any of the following catergories:
1. Use your computer more than 3 hours a day
2. Any heavy gaming, or any games that require a fast and accurate mouse.
3. Intensive photo editing or any application which requires a high DPI rate (if you know what DPI is you probably should opt for the MX700 mouse instead)
40 The best cordless duo out there
I don't know what all of you people are complaining about the mouse and keyboard have performed beyond my expectations!!!!
I have had them for three weeks now and the battery level are still at the top, and I use them at least 2 hours a day. I also love the third button next to your thumb it comes in handy. I would recommend this duo to any one that wants to be free of cords.
41 Good combo & good price...
This is a good combo and a great price.
I love the keyboard, it has that "Darth Vader decoration look" - pretty cool!
The "F" buttons make a lot of actions and folders in your computer easily accessible.
I think one of the best features is the "Ctrl" action buttons, which allow you to mark-copy-paste items that you cannot do with the "right click" from the mouse.
Speaking of the mouse.... I'm not terribly impressed with it. It is functional but very, very slow (on occasions), I have tried to "tweak" it using the Logitech menus but still I don't feel comfortable with it.
I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the mouse.
Overall, I recommended it.
42 One Nice Keyboard
I don't normally write reviews, however this is one very exceptional product. The instant e-mail, My music, and other Hot Keys are great time savers ( I could really get spoiled). The over all design of the keyboard and wireless mouse is very attractive and comfortable to use. Thanks Logitech for another great product. I would also like to thank Amazon.com for thier user friendy ordering and the speed of the delivery. The shipping was free, and came faster than most paid for shipping. I will certainly use Amazon again, Keep up the good work ! EL
43 Just the best...
This keyboard/mouse combo does everything you need and more.
The keyboard is the best out there. Great to type on and all the features you could want. I'm a computer consultant and probably have typed on every keyboard out there and this one is vastly superior. The key action makes typing a breeze and the keyboard is laid out well. Tons of great features like the media control center w/volume control, a scroll wheel, 9 programmable buttons that you can program to do anything you want, etc.
The lack of a caps lock indicator on the keyboard seems to be a problem as 1st, but since you can set the software to display "CAPS LOCK ON" (or off) in big letters on the bottom of the screen for a few seconds when you hit the caps lock, it's not really a problem. And, there is a caps lock indicator on the reciever. They probably didn't put the caps indicator on the keyboard because it would drain the batteries.
The mouse is heavier than a cordless mouse, but oddly enough, if you want to do precision pointing (on a graphics program or somesuch) this helps, since it's not so light and doesn't jeark around as much. However, because of the curved shape of the mouse, our clients that are left-handed simply can't use the mouse comfortably. If you are left-handed you are going to hate the mouse. The mouse is a 4-button mouse. If you need a 5-button mouse, this mouse it not for you.
You simply can't run the keyboard or mouse with low batteries, as you will have all sorts of problems. The best solution is to use rechargable batteries.
It is suggested that you download the current drivers for the keyboard and mouse,... and the current drivers give you significantly more options.
Finally, besides being very impressive for it's ease of use and features, they simply look sharp as heck. Plus, with the rebate, you are getting the best cordless combo at about the same price that you would pay for a basic corded keyboard/mouse.
44 Please don't waste your money
I recently bought this item and found that the keyboard and mouse works only when positioned in a certain direction. Not only does it not work a few feet away but you have have to hold it in a particular position. You will be much better off with your wired keyboard and mouse.
45 Logitech Cordless Elite Duo
I like this combination of wireless keyboard and optical mouse. It is much more convenient than my old keyboard and ball mouse were. They keyboard did not allow much movement around the room, and same goes for the mouse. Now, I can relax in bed while fragging people on counterstrike -_-. I wish the mouse had a built in li-ion rechargeable batter like the mx700 though, so i wouldnt have to change batteries. I've had the unit for 2 weeks so far, and have not had to change the batteries yet. I think that logitech should offer to sell their wireless optical keyboard and mouse separately because I would have bought the keyboard and the mx700 separately for the rechageable factor and coolness factor =). Overall, I am very happy that I made this purchase which has given me more desk space when i need it for studying etc. by easily moving the keyboard/mouse.
46 It works at least.
The cordless portion of this product set works fine most of the time although there has been a couple times I had to resynch it.
The keyboard is rather clicky and annoying if you have to listen to someone else typing on it. It feels okay if you are typing on it yourself.
I don't use the mouse anymore. I use a Logitech wireless trackball (which I love). A nice thing is that I could the their trackball with the keyboard/mouse receiver without adding a second receiver.
The added control buttons are nice. I like the volume control wheel better than +/- buttons for volume.
I thought I'd like the left hand wheel but in reality, I almost never use it.
Overall, its fine but I'm not thrilled with it. I probably wouldn't buy it again but don't mind having it around.
47 Cordless Keyboard + Cordless Mouse = Big Mess
Do not buy this product. (1) They consume alota batteries to maintain. (2) Slow respond because the signal from the mouse and keyboard has to be sent via signals. (3) Sometimes the signals interfere with each other and cancel each other out, meaning if you are playing a game, you cant click fast or type alot at the same time or even in realatively the same time. Conclusion: Stick to cords and dont even bother with Laser mouses they suck too. This product is wack.
48 a great combo at a great price
I am totally satisfied with this product. The great price ($ 50.00 with rebate) made it a great deal. I know some people commented that they wanted a caps lock key light, but this probably isn't practical with a battery powered keyboard. With the I-touch utilities installed, at least it flashes the status of the caps lock key whenever you press it. My only complaint about the keyboard and mouse is that I wish I bought it sooner.
49 The Best keyboad and mouse
The keyboard has cool shortcuts like email, messenger, webcam, search, shopping, favourites, myhome, media, mute, volume control, scroll, back on the browser, go on the browser, play stop forward rewind stop cds, the function keys have there own shortcut keys defined what more can you ask. Other than all the shortcut features its cordless, the cordless feature is also amazing. You dont have to be in the angle of the receiver. The mouse is cool, good control. The keyboard is slim and light. And as usuall logitech has its superb quality of the product. The look of the keyboard is also cool. Overall the product is the best.
50 Good product except for the mouse
The keyboard works well, BUT like a lot of other reviewers, the mouse feels really cumbersome and big (to fit the batteries ofcourse). I would prefer to use another logitech optical mouse that is smaller in size though I use that for my other computer. I also noticed that I go through the batteries really fast, although of late its been better (every 10 days). I am not sure if I have a faulty mouse but keep a good number of batteries (rechargeable) handy for this puppy. All in all, if the mouse were better I would recommend this product.
51 Great--But watch out if you're using a laptop
This is my favorite mouse. But I had to return it after hours speaking with Logitech and Dell. Apparently, Logitech's software conflicts with some laptop software that runs the laptop's internal touch pad and pointer. Logitech is aware of this and there is some information on its website. The alternative I chose was Microsoft. I like the keyboard better; the mouse, while fully featured, fits my hand awkwardly.
52 Cordless Elite Duo
I am definitely not a computer wizard, but this combo has made several of the repeated tasks I do very convienent. Hooking up was a breeze. I would not hesitate to get another if something happened to mine. Volumn control, scrolling feature, searching etc. excellent. Forget what you may have read about the mouse being to heavy. My son and I both like it. I tried a Memorex wireless combo first and took it back because the cursor had a tendancy to float. Not with this. BUY IT!!!!!!!
53 Be careful of the mouse--horrible refresh rate!
I had never used a cordless mouse before I bought this package--I'd assumed the tracking would be as good as a corded mouse, but it's not. The refresh rate of this mouse is somewhere between 30-60 Hz, whereas the refresh rate of a corded mouse is around 120 Hz, which basically means a corded mouse pointer moves *much* more smoothly across the screen (assuming your mouse driver software is actually configured to support the high refresh). After I moved to this mouse from a Microsoft PS/2 Intellimouse (corded), the movement felt very jerky, although I got used to it for most things. But where it really bothers me is in games like first person shooters, where I miss a lot of precision that I would otherwise have with a corded mouse. All in all, I'd take the precision advantages of my old mouse over the cordless conveniences of this one, and I wish I knew about that before I bought it.
Other than that, I'm pretty pleased with the whole setup... The ergonomics of the mouse took a little getting used to--I used to wish the left and right buttons were bigger like on the MS Intellimouse, but my fingers got used to it and now I don't mind at all.
Overall, the keyboard is excellent. Keypresses have a very satisfying feel to them; keys are sized well and the whole keyboard generally feels very sturdy. The usefulness of the "extra functionality" keys is mixed--some keys are great, most are useless, but they never get in the way. Particularly useful are the "media player" controls at the top of the keyboard, which let you adjust the volume, move to previous and next tracks, mute, play/pause, and stop. The scroll wheel on the left of the keyboard is also pretty nice; you can configure it to do a number of things, and right now I have it set up to give me a pop-up menu of all my music that I can select from, which is handy. Almost everything else is entirely useless for me though, particularly the inane "F-lock" which lets you do things like "undo" and "redo", which are actually accomplished far more conveniently by just using their standard windows shortcut keys (e.g. Ctrl-Z, Shift-Ctrl-Z, etc).
The keyboard and mouse also look really, really cool--the black and graphite combination is great, and it makes my whole computer setup look like a command center or something. (if only my monitor and speakers weren't white...)
As for battery life: I've been using the Cordless Elite Duo for about 2 and a half months now, and the batteries are still nearly at max, which is good.
Overall, I'd give the keyboard 5 stars, but I'd give the mouse 3 stars because of its horrid refresh rate.
54 excellent
Forgot to mention i also am running WinXP home like many here "saying" they are having problems with the KB & Mouse....
I took mine out of the box, plugged it in, loaded the software from the "website" actually, which is what i always do with ANY thing i buy for my PC...I never load software from the Supplied CD, which is or can be very outdated by the time you buy the product, website always has the latest most up to date software...But WinXP standard drivers will work fine..
I had mine up and running perferctly and flawless in under 5 mins...
99% of reviews you see where someone is having a problem is usually operator error the other 1% could have a bad/malfuctioning product which happens....Disregard....
Product itself works fine with both WinXP and Win98se...Zero problems of any kind...
55 excellent Keyboard & Mouse
Not sure what you folks have been smoking....
Number 1..the mouse is outstanding, works great for gaming also, mine does NOT skip or have any problems or slow response whatsoever...I use a nice mousepad and not a shinny wood surface DOH!...
I can only assume the MX700 mouse would be slightly better, but actually if your playing a FPS game online and your moving this mouse fast enough to cause it to skip, your outa control anyway.
The mouse takes 2 AA batteries, i use mine ALOT many many hours per day and last approx 3-4 weeks...
The keyboard takes 4 AA batteries not 2...Ive had the keyboard for almost a year now of constant use and havent replaced the batteries yet....
Both work flawlessly from my bed which is at least 10-12 feet away....I hook up my PC to the 36"TV ocaisionally and this cordless KB& Mouse comes in very handy being able to just kick back in bed and surf...
My one and only complaint about this Keyboard and or mouse is actually against Logitech themselves, by forcing you to buy BOTH in combo as opposed to being able to just buy the "Elite Optical Keyboard" separately.....
Wife spilled an entire bowl of icecream dead center on Keyboard, needless to say, thats it for that keyboard, no amount of cleaning is going to save ANY keyboard from a bowl of sticky icecream....
So had to buy another combo, instead of just getting just the Keyboard...
and i like this Keyboard & Mouse combo so much, that now im looking to buy a "spare" just to have set aside for when another "sticky" situation arises..we have 2 PCs side by side, both have this KB & mouse....none better.
56 Great Keyboard and Mouse Combo...Software can use some work.
The Logitech Cordless Elite Duo is an excellent keyboard and mouse combo. While I have not gotten the range some others have stated, I still get more than Logitech's advertised 6ft. They work well for daily activities and fast-pace games such as Quake III. The keyboard is very comfortable and easy to type on. The keys are quiet and have a good feel. All the extra buttons are useful and add to the functionality of the keyboard. The mouse that was included I can't recommend for people who are left-handed and/or have small hands. However, I found it to be comfortable and very responsive. The mouse is heavy compared to most mice, but for the most part it isn't noticeable.
My only problem is that the software can be annoying. I like the functions they have and the ease to set up, however, I didn't like the little pop-ups when you first use one of these buttons. I would have also liked media button support of the Interactual DVD player software. But I am sure that will come eventually.
One last word of warning. Be careful if you have a Pocket PC installed on your computer. The first time I installed the iTouch program, it caused a conflict and I had to spend about 2 1/2 hours to figure out what was going on and to reinstall the ActiveSync and the Logitech software. I would of given the keyboard at least a 4-5 if I hadn't had the driver conflict that I did.
57 Nice to get rid of the wires
All those darn wires were making a mess of my desk... this nice duo helped clean some of them up. I've been using it for a couple weeks now with no problems. The mouse tracks well, although serious gamers or photshoppers might need a little more accuracy. For normal point and clickers, it's more than acceptable. Installation was a breeze with XP, though documentation was a little thin. I ended up placing the reciever in a drawer next to my desk, and it stil works perfectly. Keep in mind, however, the mouse is a bit more beefy than your standard corded variety.
58 outstanding
Purchased this combo to hook to the computer hooked to my 55" Samsung TV. Works flawlessly under Windows XP. I can now sit at my coffee table, which is approx. 10ft. away, and surf the web, launch movies, whatever.
Spec sheet says it works up to 6ft. away, I haven't had any problems up to 11ft.
The only bad thing I can say is the software package left an annoying little "ad" at the right side of the screen, promoting Logitech's website. If you are more careful than I was when installing the software, you probably won't have this problem.
59 bad software
1. the logitech mouseware cause the mouse jumpy. but if u do not install the logitech drivers, all works fine.
2. No led for NumLock...
3. Mouse a little heavy and a little big (battery?)
4. I hate the "User" button on keyboard, it will cause your system sleep accidently.
60 works perfect
im very happy with my new keyboard and mouse. my old wired kb and mouse dont let me feel confortable when i wrote some homework or typing a text, now i can put kb and mouse everywhere . some times i dont need to be on my desk to type something. i can do it in the couch.
61 Awesome keyboard! Don't expect much from the mouse...
Let me first say that I love being cordless. I don't think I will ever go back to a corded keyboard/mouse. The keyboard is awesome. I give it ****1/2/*****.The best feature is definately the media controls. It makes it much more convenient to change songs and control the system volume. I don't find myself using the keys on the top left and right hand sides of the keyboard (f-lock, email, webcam, iTouch, etc.), but maybe I just need to get used to them being there.
The mouse is a whole different story. I really wanted to like it, but I can't. I am very frustrated by it. One of the things that really turned me on about it was not having to use a mousepad. Well, my desk has wood grain and if I attempt to use the mouse on it, the cursor jumps and skips around. So I have to use a mousepad, or an unsightly piece of paper. Second, for me, the ergonomics are bad. I have a small/medium hand, and I get cramps after using the mouse for more that 30 minutes. Also, the scroll wheel does not work in games. There is absolutely no comparison to my original Dell Logitech optical mouse. The tracking was 10 times better on any surface. I give the mouse */*****.
The software definately needs some polishing. When using any of the volume/media controls, the text on the lower portion of the screen becomes distorted. This can be defeated by turning the on screen key effects off, but then you have no visual indication of the volume level. Also there is no way to program the buttons to do different things in different applications. For instance, there is no way to make the side button go back in Internet Explorer and make it double click everywhere else. I give the software **/*****. I expected better from Logitech.
Because the mouse is so bad, I am looking at spending another $70 on the MX700 which looks much better. There are many other people who were satisfied with the mouse, though, so you should probably try before you buy.

63 So many buttons, so much deskspace...
Finally had to ditch old iMac keyboard with lousy 'feel', unresponsive keys... Huge improvement in keyboard 'feel' over previous keyboard, solid design, can actually touch type again... Only owned for a week... need to restart after installing drivers to 'activate' wireless keyboard & mouse... newer drivers availible from logitech... mouse motion a little jerky even after adjusting control panels (both Logitech & Apple Mouse)... must be 'wireless' thing... don't know what the battery consumption is yet, uses four 'AA' batteries (two for keyboard, two for mouse)... mouse a tad heavier & bulkier than my previous logitech optical wheel mouse (must be the batteries)... thumb button on left side of mouse makes for righties only, feels big in hand... changed default thumb button from 'click-hold' to custom key-combo 'command-[' for one button 'back page' in Safari... count 18 'extra' buttons and two scroll wheels on keyboard alone... default extra button functions from driver install work great, needs a second after pressing for computer to respond on 'media keys'... don't think I'll actually use the extra buttons, but they're there adding to the dimensions of keyboard, much bigger than I anticpated and takes a lot of deskspace... overall I'm happy with the purchase, just a tad dissappointed with overall size & bulk of keyboard and mouse.
64 Great Product!!!...
Third cordless I bought...3 times a charm, this keyboard rocks!!! The only thing missing is voice recognition! Mouse is very comfortable and has several setup options. If you're looking for a great cordless interface, this is the one to get! Great reception from any room and access to my music at the touch of a button, can't ask for more then this product gives you!!!
65 Bye Bye Cords!
I bought this product after moving and having trouble getting my mouse and keyboard to reach from the computer to where I wanted them. Not only is that problem solved, but I find this product surprisingly effective and easy to use. I've noticed the following:
1 - Setup was easy. It took more time to get out of the box than to get working.
2 - The reciever transmitter works fine even from within my desk. It's seperated from the mouse and keyboard by a bunch of wood, and no problems.
3 - Works fine with games -- I can't detect any delay between hitting a key or moving the mouse and getting a response.
4 - Nice programable buttons on the mouse and keyboard, and easy to use software to customize those keys. (The mouse is a three button mouse, plus the wheel. The third button is at the thumb.)
66 Very Good
Out of the box installation was easy. You must download the updated itouch & mouseware.
67 great if you only use OS X
I would buy this in a heatbeat, but I run both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X (Mass OX)... Unfortunately this only works with OS X....
68 This thing is great!!!!
Awesome.Much better than the Microsoft Blue mouse I bought locally for $40.Got mouse and keyboard for $45 at Amazon !My daughter loves being able to be across the room while she IM's.
69 Great Item, Great Look
I bought this item for Christmas. After a couple weeks of use, I can tell you this works great and looks great. I would recommend it.
70 Everything I wanted and more
I needed a cordless solution for a movie server connected to a wireless network. This item gives me complete control from the keyboard, I don't need to mouse to volumn control, I can access the internet with one button...Great Buy!!
71 The guy from cary doesn't know what he is talking about
This is a great product. It doesn not chage your drivers. It is wireless; however, it is the same as a ps2 mouse. It worked right out of the box. The software that comes with it does not load a driver. It is only a software that lets you use all the features on the key board. You don't have to load it if you don't want to. And if it did load a driver and you wanted to go back to your wire mouse. All you have to do is plug it in. Windows will find the drivers you need. If loading a mouse put you system down for 2 days then you should not be doing anything to your system. Both the wireless and wire mouse are ps2. So there is no change. Only the freedom of being wireless. For the price and the rebate you can't beat it. A good buy and good product. My wife loves it. She hates being tied down and wires hanging up. If you read reviews prior to bying then read them all. If you have more bad then good then don't buy. But remember when reading a review read it all.
72 It would be a five-star rating
If it weren't for two minor complaints.
#1) I wish the CapsLock, ScollLock, and NumLock indicator lights were on the keyboard itself. For some reason these lights are on the remote unit, so I have to kind of look under the monitor to see if the CapsLock button is on. I could pull the remote out closer to me, but that would defeat the purpose of a wireless, clutter-free desktop. (On Mac keyboards, the key itself has a small green light and most PC keyboards have the lights in the upper right corner of the keyboard.) You can opt for a screen message or a small menu that displays the keyboard state, but that takes up screen real estate.
#2) The thumb button on the mouse is very easy to hit unintentionally. Since everything is fully programmable, I switched its default properties to "Unassigned" (which I thought would de-activate that button). Yet, even unassigned, in some programs it will act as a "Back" button, which is annoying when you're working or concentrating.
I like the solid weight and feel of the mouse. The iTouch keys on the keyboard are all programmable for either a program, website, or menu command. There are function keys galore and iNav keys -- all easy to tailor to your needs. The volume is a large dial rather than two keys (you know, one for volume up and one for volume down). Very intuitive and as it should be. If you share your computer with others who have their own settings, all they have to do it hit the "user button" to switch to their sign on screen, not affecting your work (in WIndows XP, at least). The keyboard is very responsive and comfortable. It's nice-looking and one of the few keyboards out there that matches a black monitor (if you buy your computer components separately).
73 Hype
Things I experienced with this product:
Mouse:
- Comfort is stressful
- Right button is no easy to press
- Tracking is jittery, sometimes not at all
- Radio frequency interference
Keyboard:
- Some of the extra functionality buttons are placed in spots
where it causes you the hit them by accident.
- Radio frequency interference problems. Sometimes the keys
would not work at all or repeat 5 times with one press.
I got rid of it a when back to reliable wired technology.
Too bad, because I really loved the look. But for me, it has to work first, then look good.

75 Mac OSX trouble?
It's not the it doesn't have great potential. It does. And when it all works, it's the greatest.
I'm assuming that my trouble has come with the drivers that Logitech has supplied (I've had to download more recent versions from their site twice already - so I know they're working on it). Nevertheless, it's not all there yet. Every once and a while, the only thing the works on the keyboard are the letters and numbers, and the customized keys seem to become totally confused and forget what they're supposed to do (if they work at all), the mouse buttons do not function (or become the equivalent of double clicking for some reason).
I've had to keep my Mac keyboard and mouse plugged into another USB port, and regularly have to unplug and replug the Logitech keyboard/mouse USB cable in (which resets it, and usually fixes the problems).
I'm optimistic that they will fix these problems, as they've already updated the driver twice in 3 months, and they're a great company. Still... Just thought you Mac users might like to know. Incidentally, there is no conflict with the Mac keyboard I keep plugged in. That's not what causes the problems, I've tried everything. Good luck!
76 Fun to use. Best Keyboard I've ever used
I paid premium dollar for my keyboard and feel it is worth every penny. I've had numerous keyboards and none as easy and fun to use as the Elite combo.I'd recomend it anyone. Just a great product.
77 Not worth it
I wanted to really like this product, it looked great and I did buy it, unfortunately it's not worth it. First of all I didn't like the directions, they should have been more clear. I have windows xp (home edition) and I just had a lot of problems with it. The mouse wouldn't work at all, and then when it did work, the keyboard would just stop working, instead. I even went out and bought new batteries thinking that maybe it was low on that and that wasn't it. It was the darn keyboard!
I finally got so sick of this keyboard not working at all, so I went out and bought a new wireless keyboard and mouse combo. I got the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro and it works very well, it was much more easy to set up, and both the keyboard and mouse work much better. It takes a while getting used to the angular keyboard but I like it so much better than the Logitech one.
78 This is why you should buy
I started just like you. Reading all the reviews, gathering technical info about the product. Well let me say this.
Search no more.
Ths keyboard and mouse "Duo" do xactly what a cordless keyboard and mouse should do; work flawlessly right out of the box. Yes this is the best add on you could buy if you need and desire working range from your computer screen. I even went to the computer shop for a "hands on" demo of this product, and this is the best buy. Get yours today!
79 WATCH OUT -- TROUBLE!!!
I always check out rating before buying anything. Sometimes they are not always accurate or complete....
I purchased this hoping that it would make my life easier. Well it did just the opposite. The Logitech supplied drivers are simply a poor excuse for software. The reason I say this is because when you install the iTouch or MouseWare software, it overwrites your standard Microsoft PS/2 driver and disables other functions that are necessary for using a non-Logitech PS/2 device. What this means is that once you load this software, no other PS/2 devices other than Logitechs will work. I have a laptop when I undocked it, my built in mouse, PS/2 mouse port and keyboard were all shut down. The only way you can repair this is by having a highly skilled MCSE professional at your side to guide you through a 2 hour recovery. Logitech's support team tried to say that it wasn't their software that did this, download a driver update (didn't make a difference) or that I need to go through this complicated procedure and reload my computer with the windows software that originally came on my machine (Microsfot Knowledge Base Article 256233), therefore meaning that I had to reload all my drivers from when I first got the computer. I tried this on both Windows 2000 and XP and unistalling the SW doesn't make a difference. I was without my PC for days because of this. The keyboard and mouse will work fine if you do not install the drivers, but that takes away from the nice features the keyboard offers???
Much more trouble than it is worth. Unless you plan to only use Logitechs peripherals -- STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. Buy a Microsoft version -- at least you know it will be compatible.
80 More TROUBLE Than it's Worth!!!!

The keyboard and mouse will work fine if you do not install the drivers, but that takes away from the nice features the keyboard offers. .....
81 Easy installation, Great performance
This was by far, the easiest installation of a computer accessory that I have ever experienced. Out of the box, plug in the receiver, put batteries in the mouse and keyboard, press three buttons, and BAM! it's working. I did expect there to be some lag from the mouse (after all, it is wireless), but was elated to find that it works as well as my corded mouse ever did. This is a great product!
82 Great Keyboard and Mouse
This is a great set. I love the freedom of the wireless mouse and keyboard. All of the extended keyboard features also make it a great deal. You can't go wrong with this keyboard and mouse combination, and it's from a great name, Logitech.
83 great keyboard/mouse
This is great for work. Keyboard and mouse were a snap to install. worked like a charm in a couple of minutes. All hot-keys work well for the Web. I can get rid of my "wired" remote control for my speakers. This is a great buy for anyone considering it. Worth every penny and good quality. Easy to use!!
84 another great product from logitech
I bought this package to replace an old trackball mouse. I didn't really need the keyboard, but decided on the combo anyway; I was pleasantly surprised at how convenient the enhanced keyboard is! The mouse works well (as expected) and the color of both keyboard and mouse looks really sharp (black with silver accents).
KEYBOARD:
pros:
enhanced buttons are great (ex: jog dial to control volume, scroll wheel to scroll up and down when browsing webpages (like the scroll wheel on the mouse)); the keys have a soft feel to them so typing is more comfortable than on a conventional keyboard (quieter too); flat design is nice when typing with the keyboard in your lap; no cords! - I find myself typing in bed and in more relaxing positions more.
cons:
uses 2 AA batteries (although I haven't needed to replace them yet and I've been using it for about a month now); software (apparently they haven't worked out all the kinks in their software (I'm running WinXP Pro), so every now and then the enhanced buttons don't work (it's not that big of a deal - all the normal keyboard keys still work when this happens)).
MOUSE:
pros:
nice shape, fits in your hand nicely (if you're right handed) - it's the same shape as the logitech cordless optical mouse; optical sensor works well and allows you to use the mouse easily on many surfaces (including your bed); scroll wheel makes browsing webpages easier: just roll the wheel up or down; a third button (on the left side - for the thumb) can be programmed to do several things (ex: close your current program, go back to the previous webpage, etc.)
cons:
only really comfortable for the right hand; optical sensor won't work on "highly reflective surfaces" (apparently the finish on my desk is too shiny so the mouse doesn't track reliably on it), so you may have to use a mousepad, requires batteries (same deal as with the keyboard); can get lost (if you're disorganized and lose stuff around your desk, you might have to spend time now searching for your mouse as well)
