1 to be used and abused...
I have had this mouse for more than 3 years and it has been dropped, hitted, and I have used and abused all its buttons. I haven't used this mouse in a gentle way, sometimes I'm on a rush at the office and a I don't have the time to treat nice the office stuff. Well, I have yet to see the minimal fail in the mouse, it keeps working exactly the same way as the first day I used. Also, if you are a left hand user it is great as it has a neutral shape. This mouse is deeply recommended and for its price it's really a steal.
2 Very Nice Item
I use a Microsoft optical cordless mouse at work so originally I planned to purchase the same brand for home use. Then I read the reviews for this Logitech mouse. I'm very glad I changed my mind. Logitech makes a fine product. Smooth movements, fast response, fits my hand well. I would highly recommend this for any one wanting an optical wireless mouse.

3 Irregular motion
Despite what others say, my mouse became skippy and sometimes even very slow, especially when a program is active or running. Sometimes the mouse would just freeze for several seconds. But sometimes it happens out of nowhere. My old MS optical mouse never had any problems. Also the buttons are too small. Sometimes when i clicked the right mouse button, I pressed the edge. The only good thing about this mouse is that it looks decent
4 Mighty Mouse
I had been shopping for a mouse to replace the cheapo one which came with my computer. I really wanted a cordless one, but was concerned that perhaps a cordless mouse would be subject to all kinds of problems and therefore not be nearly as accurate. But, based on the reviews here at Amazon, I was convinced to purchase the Logitech Cordless Optical Wheel Mouse. Thank you Amazon reviewers and thank you Logitech! This wonderful little piece of electronics is FAR MORE accurate and responsive than my old mouse. And no more constant tugging on the cord. It also clicks very quietly (my old mouse was loud enough to wake people up). A terrific mouse at a very reasonable price. Do not hesitate to buy this if you are looking for a new mouse.

Just one slight problem to mention ... during the software installation, the setup program asks you to click on your responses - which is, of course, strangely impossible since the new mouse is not working yet. Use the tab and enter keys instead.

5 A decent mouse but can improve
I have been using a touchpad for the past 2 years. I bought this mouse for my wife and tried it for the first few days. On Windows XP, the install is clean. But I was surprised to see that this mouse does not ship with a mousepad. An Optical mouse by virtue of it's technology should be used on a specific surface otherwise it results in a jerky movement. Also there was no instructions whatsoever to suggest the kind of surface to be used on.

It is very sensitive and people used to traditional mice or touchpads will take time to adjust.

6 best mouse I've had yet
I was a little wary of a mouse that was so cheap, but I picked up mine over a year ago on sale at an office store after a little mouse-meets-wall explosion when my old mouse (a regular corded mouse with a ball) stopped working.

I would have gotten something more expensive, having learned that cheap electronics are their own punishment, but I had a project due and NO extra money, so I settled on this little guy. I am glad that I did - it has been the best mouse I've ever had. The one POSSIBLE problem is that you have to replace the batteries, but hey, until they can power mice with tiny little internal nuclear reactors, I'll deal with changing my batteries (which happens MAYBE every 3-4 months for me).

If you have some sort of deranged problem with changing batteries, or if you are willing to pay around a hundred bucks for a mouse, don't get this one. Otherwise, if you're just looking for something that will outperform your outdated old mouse for very few dollars, this is so worth it!

7 A great cordless optical mouse
Okay gang I've been using this mouse at work for nearly a year. I'm a software engineer and use it every day for 8 hours. It operates flawlessly. I don't go through batteries at all like some have mentioned. My solution is a couple sets of rechargeable batteries. They work like a charm! The first time your battery goes dead it's a little frustrating. The mouse stops moving and you think your machine is locked up. So if your mouse disappears or quits moving just slap in a fresh pair of batteries and you're on your way again. I just ordered a second one for my home PC that's how good they are.
8 A Mouse without a Tail
Once you take this mouse home and start using it, you'll soon realize that it's one of the smartest purchases you'll have made this year. I can't tell you how much nicer it is using mouse without a cord attached to it, because it's less tiring. I can be 12 feet away from the receiver, and it still works like it was attached to the pc. I like the extra generous rounded palm swell, which supports the center of your palm much better than most designs nowadays. The wheel has just the right amount of friction; not too loose, not too tight and with good, quiet ratcheting clicks. The overall size is just right for extra-small to small hands. The handling is extremely precise, very fast, very sensitive and very responsive, so you might want to turn the setting down a bit. With two AA batteries in it, it weighs about the same as a corded Microsoft optical mouse. The only thing that I found "remotely" inconvenient is the lack of double-click speed adjustment once you download the settings driver. You really don't need to download the settings driver, so don't if you want to adjust the double-click speed. It's sturdily made, and will last and last.
9 Good Quality
This is a sturdy, excellent quality mouse. I use it together with a gel mouse pad (although it doesn't need one) and working with it is a breeze. The mouse is kind of heavy, hence you get the feeling of the mouse gliding across the pad.

- You don't loose any prescision with wireless.
- The sturdy construction adds weight and gives the mouse the 'gliding' effect.
- USB 1.0 for a reliable 12 MB transfer speed or PS2 with the included adapter, but if you use the adapter you will loose the page scroll function in the middle wheel.
- The mouse sucks up to alkaline "AA" batteries per month, at least. I need to keep a 10 pack in my drawer to avoid annoyances.
- It's a Logitech mouse; you will only need to plug it in and the Windows system will automatically recognize your mouse and install the drivers for it (Win ME, 2000, or later).

Overall I love this mouse and I would feel odd using anything else.

10 Okay mouse, batteries a total pain!
I had this mouse for a while, probably over a year. The thing that made me hate it and end up selling it was because of the annoyance of how many times I had to switch batteries. I'd come back to the computer wanting to do something quickly, mouse would work for a second and then hang on the screen, meaning the batteries died. Didn't matter if it was regular or rechargeable batteries, this mouse was a TOTAL PAIN. The endless times I had to change the batteries made the "cordless" feature annoying. I won't go back to cordless mice unless it's a non-battery type. I ended up selling the mouse because I was sick of the inconvenience, it seemed like it was every 2 weeks!

Also, I paid $50 and besides the battery issue, the feel didn't seem to merit $50. I'm left handed and it was definitely comfortable for left-handed people but the weight of the mouse was a little off, possibly too light.

Also, for a while I had a glass desk and this optical mouse would stop dead in it's tracks because it can't track on glass. Now I have a wooden desk, but the battery issue made me sell it after only a year or so.

Great idea having a cordless optical mouse, but I'll stick to my corded optical Microsoft blue mouse, I also have a Logitech corded optical mouse that works well, but for some reason I prefer the Microsoft one, probably because the buttons are more ergonomic.

Good luck mouse hunting.

11 Great for anyone
This is one of the cheaper cordless mouses but it doesn't seem like that! This mouse is very cool and is not a battery hogger.
12 Great mouse, Great company!
I have had this mouse for over a year and I have had absloutly no problems with it! I have only had to replace the batteries 3 times in the past year or year and a half! This mouse is one of my best electronic buys. I have absloutly no complaints about it. I would suggest it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, incredibly well working wireless optical mouse. Logitech is the way to go!
13 Comfortable and accurate!
I purchased this mouse after first choosing a competitor's mouse. The competitor's mouse had all the ergonomic curves, but I found it uncomfortable and a distraction. This mouse is comfortable and accurate! It's not distracting and best of all, no wires!
14 Stay Away
I have used this mouse for almost a year. I have to change the batteries at least once a week. Also, Logitech has never answered all the e-mails I have sent regarding this issue. Check out their on-line site and read the forum they have. Most of the listings mirror what I have a problem with. Logitech does not back up their problems. Stay away from this company!
15 Better for a Tower than a Laptop
This is a great mouse. Great tracking ability, long battery life...but the receiver is VERY clunky and large. That's not a big deal when you have a desktop computer with a lot of peripherals already, but when you're using a laptop and want to keep your workspace to a minimum, it's something to consider.

Also, the logitech software you download to your computer gives little pop-up messages which I find extremely annoying, but may not bother other users.

16 Do not waste your money on this one!
I bought this mouse a couple of months ago, and I wish I
hadn't wasted my money. The mouse cursor jumps all over
the place, and is extremely frustrating to use. This happens
regardless of the distance between the base and the mouse,
and regardless of which computer I try to use it on.
I strongly recommend against buying this mouse!
17 No more mouse cleaning!
What a relief to have a mouse which I don't have to clean the dirt out of! I got tired of having to occasionally clean the dirt (lint, dust) out of my old mouse so it can work properly again. This mouse is built differently underneath so it doesn't collect any dirt. The only thing you have to worry about is if the battery is running low. Your computer will notify you when the battery is running low, or you can simply click an icon on your desktop to check the battery level. The batteries seem to last a month or up to two months, depending on your computer usage. You might want to invest in a battery charger and rechargeable batteries so you don't have to keep buying batteries so much (you most likely use batteries for other items in your home too) throughout the year.

Of course the best feature for this mouse is that it's cordless. That's one less wire on your desk to get cluttered, entagled with. The equipment and software is fairly easy to install/use on your computer. I've noticed that the price for this item has dropped a bit since I bought it so this a better buy than ever.

18 Fantastic Mouse... The Receiver Is A Different Story
What can I say? I love anything without wires. The mouse works great, fits great, and does the job.

Battery life is a bit short, on average about 3-4 weeks.

The only thing that bugs me is the receiver. Part of the whole idea is to eliminate wires. Instead, I still have another wire with an akward receiver sitting on my desk. I hope in the future they can make a small USB antenna so the wires would just dissapear.

Overall, a great product.

19 Excellent cordless mouse for a modest price...
I'm a gamer, so naturally a mouse is a very important consideration when you're in the market for a new one. I decided to go cheap this time (previously owning a Microsoft Optical corded mouse) and cordless. After using this mouse for a few months it's surpassed my expectations. Just this weekend I had a LAN party and the mouse performed superbly in games like Q3 and Unreal Tournament 2003. Response is dead-on and the mouse never once had a glitch (something I had a problem with years ago when the first cordless Logitech mice came out). It's performed admirably in every situation. I'm on my first set of batteries besides the ones included with the unit, so I can't attest to how long they last (yet). I'll update my review once I have that answer. I can't say enough good things about this mouse. It's extremely low cost and the best quality of any cordless mouse you can buy. Highly recommended. Logitech has always been on the cutting edge of mouse technology. It's no wonder they're such a successful company with products like this. My previous mice have died painful deaths. Being a gamer my mice end up suffering from double-click-itis, where the clicker wears out and double clicks when you don't want it to. I'm hoping this mouse will last longer than my Microsoft Explorer did. We'll see.

Update: Battery life appears to be about a month or so for me. The mouse icon appears on your taskbar letting you know the mouse is trying to tell you something. I use my computer long hours every day, so I suppose a month of battery life on two AA's isn't that bad considering the amount I use it. If you are a casual computer user you may find the batteries last a lot longer.

20 THE BEST.....*****
Definetly the best mouse around. Ergonomic, ease of use, very practical and very easy to install. Kudos to Logitech.
Jaime Brugueras
21 Great Product. over a year old now.
I have been using this mouse for over a year now, I have had a great experience with it, and am loving its mobility for the entire time. I am really rough with it too, I have a laptop backpack that I keep it in the front pocket of, and when you put it down, it lands right on the mouse. I have only two things I would change about it,(one of them is my fault) First is the battery door, I dropped the mouse and the battery door broke so I have to use it without one, (no problem but one of the batteries falls out occationally, no biggie) and the second one is that the receiver is not small like all of the mice you find for laptops now only having a small USB 'nub' this one has a 36" cord with a receiver just smaller than the mouse, not a huge deal to some one using it with a desktop computer, but someone who intends to use it with a laptop, be prepared.
I also read in someone's review that the battery life was short, FALSE I have only changed the batteries in it twice in the last year I have been using it. the last tiime was abobut a week ago. It tells you when the batteies are getting low, and you have about 15 hours more use before they will actually die.
22 Works Great!
I have used this product for about two months now and love it. A helpful hint that I will pass on is to use a mouse pad with this product. The box advertises that you can throw your mouse pad away, but I found that the mouse works 100% better with the pad. Other than that, it was easy to install and is very accurate.
23 Great at first . . . not so much anymore . . .
As of late, my family is updating our electronics trying to keep up. We've bought new everything to keep up with this digital day and age. One of our additions was this mouse. It was great at first, completely comfortable, quick, and easy to move. Goodbye to our hideous mousepad (we have a light desk) and the equally horrendous cords that irritated my mother so. It was a marvel compared to the sticky, slow (and BEIGE) from Goodwill when our old one broke down. Then the problems began. This mouse has an EXTREMELY low battery life. Since Double AAs are used to quickly in our house (for remotes, radios, and what not), it seemed we were always having to get batteries. So the seemingly cheap cost for the mouse is not so cheap when you add in the cost of batteries. And the red glow IS irritating, especially at night when working late on a project. It gives the room an eerie vampire feeling, not good after reading Dracula or watching a scary movie for those that get frightened easily. But that's not really why I am so mad. For some mysterious reason or another our mouse has STOPPED WORKING. I'm seeing all these reviews saying their mouse has lasted for a year. Mine has barely made 5 months. I checked the site for troubleshooting as the owner's guide is pretty much useless to find about as much help as I'd found in the guide. We tried everything to no avail. So now I'm stuck with my [crummy] Goodwill mouse and my monstrous mouspad until I can find a new one on Amazon. Don't expect long term success from this one.
24 Best Value for Cordless Optical Mice
If you're looking for an inexpensive yet quality cordless optical mouse, this is your best bet.

I originally made the mistake of purchasing the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Blue (around the same price as the Logitech model), which seemed like it would work better without a clear path between the mouse and receiver. It worked alright, but after hearing some horror stories about things going wrong after a couple of weeks, I exchanged it before the return policy expired.

The Logitech mouse is far superior. I noticed immediately how much smoother and precise it was. It also has a much better power management system -- instead of the light being on constantly, it blinks after not being used for a certain length of time. With the included software, it's easy to track how your batteries are doing before they start giving you problems. I've had no problems with communication between the mouse and receiver since I set it up; it works just like a corded mouse.

This is the best cordless mouse that I have ever used. I especially recommend this for college students with cluttered desktops; the lack of cord really makes it easy to move things around.

25 A pleasure to use
You would not believe how much more comfortable a cordless mouse feels. I use a computer all day long, and I can't live without this thing.

The pros for the Logitech Cordless:
1. Comfortable to use.
2. Steady pointing. No jitters.
3. Durable: I have two, one at home and one at work. No problems with either for over a year.
4. Nice color scheme (not hugely important, but it's nice to have silver and blue instead of putty beige.)

The Cons:
1. You have to use batteries on this one.
2. The red optical light is on all the time--if your computer is in your hotel room, you might find the blinking in the dark annoying. Seems stupid, but if you travel, this can be disconcerting. Then you have to take out the batteries to keep it from blinking all night.
3. It won't work on shiny surfaces--you need a mousepad, but what kind? Optical mice are kind of funny. Too dark, no good, too shiny, won't work. Supposedly you don't need a pad, but I find I prefer one.

On the whole, I give this mouse a big thumbs-up for comfort and durability.

26 A nice mouse without the tangles
The Logitech Cordless Optical Wheel Mouse (USB/PS2) works great. It works and feels like any other mouse without the cords getting in the way. I love this product. Battery life could be a bit better but other than that I would recommend it.
27 Works fine!
It has worked fine so far and i have no complaints. The mouse works while not in direct view of the reciever. I am glad I bought it!
28 The Best Mouse that I have ever owned
I got this mouse after giving up on my 6 year old normal wheel mouse. I have been extremely impressed at the quality of this, and the battery life and so much more. If you are looking for the best mouse under <$$ go for this one.

For these reason:

1) Optical - Logitech invented the technology and it still is one of the most accurate mice out there.
2) Battery life - I get about 3 months out of 2 AA's. However, I use cheap batteries, and therefore my total year cost or the mouse is only about $.
3) Duarbilty - I have dropped this mouse on many occasions 4 feet onto a hard concrete floor, and it still is in perfect working condition

It's a great mouse!

29 A very solid mouse
This is a very solid mouse made by logitech - but probably not their best. While the battery life is excellent and the feel of the wheel and the buttons is also top notch, I find that the precision takes some getting used to. The *feel* of the mouse isn't as nice as some of the older, corded mice that logitech has produced. I however, was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no lag because of the wireless option. Be sure to get rid of that cloth mouse pad for something more solid - it really helps with the movement of this mouse.
30 Excellent mouse
This mouse is an excellent mouse. For years I used a regular mouse and the cord was constantly getting caught and knocking things over. I got this mouse and was amazed. It not only funtioned better, but it was corless! The buttons work great and the mouse overall has a very nice feel (and it's ambidextrous). The wheel also works well and has a middle button you can use. The batteries do NOT get eaten away contrary to what another user said. I have been using it for about 2 months and the control panel says the battery level is still good!

Bottom line: one of the best mice out there. Buy it and be amazed.

31 Innovative, Reliable, Easy to Use
But don't leave home without a package of AA's ;)

I don't know how I lived without this product. It's a smooth tracker, even when I have to "mouse" on the arm of my couch. Has awesome range. Wasn't too difficult to set up.

Only complaints: The connect button for initial connection, on the bottom of the mouse, is a teensy tiny push button, much like when you reset a watch, that has to be pushed with a paperclip or pen -- directions didn't explain this too well & you can't start up without doing this.

And it eats AA batteries. If you can purchase a rechargeable set, I highly recommend. I can't figure out how to "shut it off" when not in use, and it just gobbles up the alkalines. We've gone through 3 changes in just 2 weeks :o

32 It does the job,,,,
It's difficult to get too excited about a mouse. But after frustrating encounters with the typical corded-roller-ball mouse, I decided to look into the latest technology.

This model is a relatively inexpensive solution to your mouse frustrations.

* Very easy to install
* Good battery life (2 AA batteries last approx two months)
* It feels great in your hand--nice and solid
* Great response. The way a mouse should perform.

I highly recommend it. It may cost more than the typical mouse, but it will last longer and cause you no headaches.

33 worth it
Never having tried a cordless mouse before I didn't know what to expect. Connected by usb this mouse responds better than corded ps2. Battery life is very good (about three months). Installation is easy and works well with both win 98 and xp. Also, the mouse works very well with games-first person shooters and the like-which is very surprising. Getting one for my dad for christmas.
34 Wheel is sloppy
I like this mouse, everything about it... except the wheel does not always work well, mine is brand new, and it skips scroll clicks often, so i have to keep scrolling the wheel to get it to scroll down or up. It's very annoying.
35 Comfort, precision, power hungry
I chose this mouse by trying all of them in a large electronics store. Its feel in my small hand was by far the best At first, I paused at its relatively high price but then I realized how much I use my mouse--and I'm worth it. After using it for several months, I am still delighted by its ergonomics and control-ability. The only complaint I have is that the batteries wear out faster than I'd like, perhaps every 2 months.
36 Great mouse!
I bought the Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse to avoid the problems of the mechanical ball and more so to avoid the "tail" of the cord that would always get entangled on my paper covered desk. I have used it for over 6 months and liked it so much that I bought another for my laptop as well. The design is very ergonomic, fitting the hand well. The button design and customization are excellent, especially the scroll wheel. I have found the battery life to be very reasonable and not at all a drain as some others have mentioned. The USB interface makes things a lot easier too. Only minor cribs: opening the battery compartment on the mouse is a bother (surely they could find a simpler way) and it would be nice if the mouse could alert you to a fading battery instead of you having to query the status. While you don't need a mousepad, it works a lot better if you are running it over a light colored surface (most desks are not!). And of course, sadly you cannot use it on an airplane in flight because of interference! But on the ground, this is one great mouse.
37 A nice mouse, but the cordless version is less reliable...
Get the wired version of this mouse. It's quite comfortable, and very good for gaming, and such. I would say the wireless version is much more reliable, and more likely to work. Keep this in mind, wireless tech just isn't perfected yet.
38 Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse
Great mouse and no cord adds a level of convenience that I've never had before. This is my first optical mouse and I can't see ever going back. No ball to clean and I've found that the movements of the cursor are just as smooth as my old mouse, maybe even smoother. Easy to install IF you are using Windows XP. If you are using Windows 98 that's another story! I bought a second mouse for my Win 98 computer and the headaches began. Note!! Be sure to download the newest software drivers! Also I tried to use the USB on the Win 98 computer and I had to call Logitech tech support (NO toll free number), I was told that I had to install drivers from my Win 98 cd then it would work. I gave up and used the PS/2 connection.
39 Great Product
My computer came with one of those clunky mice with the ball on the bottom. I hated that ball, and I hated the cords that came with it. So I got this. The optical precision is great, and you don't need a mouse-pad. You can move the mouse from your chair 10 feet away if you want to. Having no cords to get all tangled is great, too. The only problem is battery life. The batteries that come with it are supposed to last for 3 months. Good thing this mouse just uses regular AAs, or else it could get really expensive to use. If you hate your stupid ball mouse, you NEED this product
40 Best pointing device I've ever used
I've used so many different kinds of pointing devices (mice and trackballs) I can't count them. I've finally found the perfect device, this Logitech cordless optical mouse. I actually have two of them, one for work and one for home. I also own the first Logitech cordless optical mouse that came out for right handers, but gave it to my wife when this one came out, since I am left handed. I have not at all experienced the problem a previous reviewer had in the mouse being unable to move the pointer quickly and can only assume he had a defective unit. I introduced this mouse at work a few weeks ago, and everyone who uses it realizes that they need one too, and I notice it popping up on people's desks everywhere. It is so convenient if you're left handed, because almost everyone is right-handed and they come over to show me something and can simply pick it up and move it to the other side without the cord interfering with the movement. I have positioned the radio receiver behind my monitor where you can't even see it! And of course optical is the only way to go: it is incredibly precise and smooth. A fresh pair of alkaline AA batteries lasted three months. I replaced them with a pair of lithiums and I expect them to last a year! Imagine that!
41 Logitech 930616-0403 Cordless Optical Mouse (USB/PS2)
I absolutely love mine. It is one of the better purchases that I have made computer related. I have wrist problems which it seems to help. It is easier and smoother to work with than a regular mouse. It was easy to install, etc.
42 Great addition to my computer
I've always liked the idea of a cordless mouse, but the one my parents used made me nervous about buying one. But this mouse has worked wonderfully. No cord adds a level of convenience that I've never had before. Other cordless mouse I've used went through batteries in a matter of days, but not this one. The battery life is long. It has a elegant, sleek design, so it looks great on your desk. This is my first optical mouse and I can't see ever going back. No ball to clean and I've found that the movements of the cursor are just as smooth as my old mouse, maybe even smoother (and I've had no problems on a black surface). The only fault I have found so far is the wheel which seems to move the screen in too-large-chunks. But I think this mouse is great.
43 Great mouse for begginers and advanced internet fanatics
Optical mice are great, worth the money.
I recently bought this mouse to replace a microsoft mouse of similar style (cordless and optical) and it works great. I bought the microsoft mouse because it had the internet back and forward browswer buttons which is a great idea. After I installed the mouse i had a few conflicts my laptops touchpad (which i never had with any logitech mouse) and after trying to get everything to working the way i liked it to with my previous logitech (cordless but not optical) eventually my computer crashed and just wouldn't start. I had a do a system reboot and retore my comp to factory settings all because of the MS mouse. then i bought this mouse (which uses the same software as my old logitech) and it works beautifully, no problems yet, and my laptop touchpad also works the way i want it to. Once you go optical you never go back.
44 Great for beginners, but sometimes newer isn't better
Well, I really can't say anything bad about Logitech. They made my Quickcam Traveler, and it works perfectly. They made this new mouse, and it works almost perfectly. Yes, almost. Let's go through this one feature at a time...

1) Cordless... Very nice! You leave a weird-looking receiver on your desk (They say it has to be placed away from electronic devices, but I've tried it on top of the monitor without problems), and you no longer have to worry about wires. I've gotten it to work perfectly at a distance of about 10-15 feet, but after that it starts to respond a bit oddly. Of course, from that distance, I can't read anything on the screen, so who cares?

2) USB... Works well. Just as well as a PS/2 mouse. So why not just use the PS/2 port? Well, they provide an adapter to do just that. I'm using the USB port... Why? Because I hooked up TWO mice at once. This one and my old MS wheel-mouse. They both work the same cursor, but I can pick and choose which one to use when.

3) Optical. BAD IDEA. Yes, you lose the problems that come with a ball, but no one seems to realize that with the right mousepad a ball mouse is just fine. Get a nice leather mousepad and you won't have to clean the rollers ever again. The optics don't respond fast enough, especially when I want to jerk the cursor to a button across the screen (Or do a quick 180 in CounterStrike). It assumes you picked up the mouse, and doesn't move the cursor at all.

Bottom line:

Pros

- Use it anywhere with out worrying about the wire
- Wheel and L/R buttons respond well
- Don't have to clean the ball/rollers
- USB - Hook up 2 mice at once, and use a ball mouse where this fails

Cons

- Optics don't read sudden movements (Common in gaming)
- Wheel button is a bit stiff (Harder to press than most older mice)
- DOES NOT WORK ON BLACK SURFACES! (Sorry, no black desks or pads)
- Wastes a USB port when PS/2 is just fine

Bottom Line

It's nice to lose the wire, but if you're a power-user, avoid optical mice entirely!

45 Not just a great cordless mouse.. a great mouse, period!
For years, I've been a Micro$oft user.. they made durable basic mice, but their other lines, including opticals, have been sorely lacking. Their mice (one of which died on me in 2 days flat) is the reason why I tried Logitech mice.. and for that I thank them.. Logitech products simply plug in and work.. I know that doesn't sound very impressive but after fighing with M$ products, I appreciate that simple requirement. Their Mouseware progs also work well and integrate well with usual computer use.. and I've never had any probs with tracking or dropouts from use of this cordless mouse.. simply put, the Logitech Cordless mouse is a simple, elegant mouse that helps, not hinders.. and that alone is enough to make me a loyal Logitech user.
46 This mouse has three things going for it.
1) It's made by Logitech, who make the best mice on the market. They always have current device drivers and most of the time you can just plug the mouse in to whatever system you are installing it on and have it work. They are the reference standard for my money.
2) It's cordless. Doug Englebart is a genius, but corded mice can sometimes be a pain in the.... You're always having to move the cord, or pick the mouse up and relocate it or, depending upon where your computer is you may not have enough cord. This is never a problem with the Logitech mice, the range is about six feet and the mouse will work if the transmitter is under a wooden desk.
3) It's optical. Optical mice are the only mice worth having. You don't have to worry about your mouse ball getting all gunked up or have a mouse pad to use the mouse. You never have that annoying behavior where the mouse ball isn't rotating properly, causing your cursor to skitter all over the screen. The sensitivity is fantastic.
In short you should buy one of these for every single one of your computers. Don't worry about conflicts though, the Logitech wireless system is smart enough to deal with having multiple cordless devices on the desktop.
47 Practical, Stylish, and big COOL factor to boot
This Logitech is everything a great mouse is supposed to be--it's amazingly accurate (you'll swear it's reading your mind), and the fact that it doesn't need to be tethered to your computer is a tremendous convenience. Plus, it's a Logitech, so you can be reasonably assured that you're getting a quality product. I've owned other Logitech mouses (mice?) that outlived a couple of computers, and I don't expect this one to be any different. Buy one, and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

The energy produced by the breaking down of the atom is a very poor kind

of thing. Anyone who expects a source of power from the transformation
of these atoms is talking moonshine.
