diNovo Media Desktop, Keyboard & Mouse Combo
Logitech's diNovo Media Desktop is a dramatically designed Bluetooth keyboard and MediaPad, optical mouse, and Bluetooth hub combination that transforms the users work space. The visually striking diNovo keyboard gives first-class comfort, while the separate MediaPad lets users remotely command todays PC digital-media interface to enjoy their favorite pictures and musical selections. The MediaPad also displays e-mail or instant message notifications, media playback status, and provides smart calculator functionality.
The ensemble includes Logitechs high-precision MX-900 rechargeable optical mouse. The diNovo also turns the PC into a Bluetooth control center, letting users synchronize data between their Bluetooth PDAs, cell phones, other devices, and their PCs. You've never seen anything like the MediaPad, a Bluetooth remote commander for all your digital media. Use it to remotely view, select, and launch your favorite jukebox tunes, video clips, or digital photos.
The MediaPad also displays e-mail or instant message notifications, and it lets you monitor media playback status, even when you're away from your desk. It's a numeric keypad with a built-in smart calculator. And you can view the time and date on the digital display. To streamline your desktop, a single external device performs two critical functions: it serves as a wireless hub for all your Bluetooth devices and as a fast power charger for the mouse. Communicate instantly using your Bluetooth headset, or easily exchange data between your PC and your Bluetooth PDA, cell phone, and printer. Thanks to the power of Bluetooth, you can do it all without wires.
But what is Bluetooth, anyway?

1 Two stars just for the style
I bought this product several months ago, and, like a lot of new products, it has some unanticipated issues. Several of them were severe enough I got a difffernt product.
On the plus side, obviously, is the styling. The design is fresh, clean, and interesting. Although non-beige is common for keyboards, the shape is refreshing while still functional. The keyboard can tilt at different angles, which was important because I had some difficulty typing with it flat. The mouse is basically the standard higher-end logitech unit although with different coloration and translucent plastic. The bluetooth receiver in the charger was functional, and I appreciated having a bluetooth hub for my cellphone. The mouse and the keyboard have both proved durable and reliable despite a number of mishaps. In all, the hardware aspects of the package are high quality as is normally the case with logitech heyboards and mice.
In regards to the software, there are some real issues. I found it to be intrusive, to large, and difficult to integrate with Windows. It is inclined to open windows which demand immediate attention and which cannot be minimized without using task manager. Also despite the upgrades from Logitech, when the mouse powers down to save battery life there is a second or two of lag time before it reconnects with the receiver. Personally, I found this really annoying to deal with every time I stepped away from my desk for ten or fifteen minutes. The security aspects of the software are frustrating, and I was unable to figure out how to turn it off, if that's possible. Last, durring system startup when the bluetooth software has yet to initalize, both the keyboard and the mouse are useless. This made it impossible to do anykind of work requiring input pre-windows-startup--No F8 for windows, F2 for my RAID driver setup, F1 for bios, or any other similar situation. I suspect this is a result of how bluetooth interacts with the OS and bios, but whatever the cause, it was, for me, a deal-breaker.
2 Phlat, Phun and Phantastic
I read all the negative reviews on here and I have to wonder what is wrong with some people. Maybe they're just rough on things or what.
I love this keyboard. The mouse is excellent, the Bluetooth is kind of a waste in my case, a simple Wireless version would have been more than adequate. The Media selling features are a waste of print, who uses MP3 anymore and the video features stink.
But it's like laptop keyboard for a PC that is (a) flat, (b) fast to type on due to reduced key travel, and (c) QUIET.
I'm a gamer and I use this all the time. Easy on the hands in any position. I have an 8" heel-to-tip hand span (thank you, thank you very much). I do find that typing in the dark is problematic due to the very flat desing, but I got over it, turned on a dim light and reduced my eye strain at night.
I've had zero problems with XP SP2 using the Logitech software. I also use it with my Dell 9200 w/built-in Bluetooth and no issues.
It's expensive, yeah, but what isn't these days. I would seriously try it before you buy it though to see if you like the feel.
3 No backlight
I'm a tech geek so this sleekly designed keyboard was a must-have for me. I noticed that the mouse that came with mine was very generic and the price is about $100 less than what I'm seeing advertised. I bought a laser mouse instead.
This is my first wireless keyboard. My reason for buying it other than the design was that I feel retrained by wires when using my keyboard and mouse.
The only drawback to me is that there are no indicator lights for the Caps Lock or any other keys to indicate whether or not they are active. And honestly at this price, I'd like the entire keyboard to have a backlight option.
4 OK, but not good enough
I am returning this package after about a week of use. My first disappointment with it was discovering that in order to set it up, I had to come up with 6 AA batteries. The mouse is shipped with batteries, but the keyboard (4) and the media pad (2) are not. This keyboard is uncomfortable. With my hands on the home keys, my palms extend over the front edge of the keyboard. Also, I often have to reconnect the keyboard and/or mouse when I log on to my computer first thing in the AM. This is just a short procedure of pushing a couple of buttons and typing in a security number, but it's still annoying. I like the separate numeric keypad, and its media functions are handy, but all in all it just isn't working out for me.
5 Beauty and the Beast
I was first stricken with the beauty of the design of this set, Logitech hit the bullseye with the look. Once I got the set home and got it installed, all without a hitch I might add, I found myself most pleased with the feel of the keyboard, it is a very comfortable keyboard and it is very quiet.
But after about 2 months the beast began to emerge to my dismay and shock! I have been a loyal logitech user for sometime, never encountering any serious problems with any of their products, but after 2 months the left ctrl key just stopped working, nothing I could do to fix it. I also encountered frequent connection troubles with the bluetooth mostly with the mouse, I would often have to wait a few minutes after boot for the mouse to be connected.
The sudden malfunctioning keys issue seems to be common among many users of this particular Logitech product, as well as the connection issues, in light of this I strongly urge buyers to look elsewhere for a keyboard and mouse set.
6 I like it..
I picked up a dinovo off eBay. No invoice or stuff like that, but basically brand new.
After about 3 intense weeks of use the enter key and right CTRL were toast. Realising I could not return it without an invoice and due to method of purchase, I decided to investigate the problem. However, 1 week prior to the death of the keys I noticed that the keyboard would be disconnected after running over night. Not a problem considering the PC was on its last legs anyway (5+ years old and suffering typical VIA USB problems). So I opened up the keyboard in an attempt to see the failure on the key and managed to short it out thanks to horribly unexpected static.
However, the keyboard sacrificed its life to find out why the keys tend to die. Note how they're usually along the edges of the continguous key regions. Note how most of the time (with the CTRL key anyway) one doesn't usually hit the key dead center due to how your hand moves. Well, under the keys is a rubber mat with nipples on it and these are aligned right under the keys. The angle of movement misaligns the nipple so when you press the key again it doesn't depress the nipple onto the circuit board. This is, in my opinion, why the keys die. The reason the pop out of alignment is due to the rubber mat not being secured along the edges. Only the keys hold it there, but it moves easily.
It's a design oversight, something a stress test robot will never pick up. The solution is to pry the key up on one edge (it's latched on both sides by 2 arms in a X shape), tilt the key and pop the nipple back into alignment, then push the key squarely back down.
Problem solved, unless you were dumb enough like me to see how static affects the internals. :)
I have since sourced a spare keyboard and have been using it for 2 weeks now and there's no faults on the keys. And I've hidden my screwdriver set away as well. :)
As for the unit itself... I like it. I do software development about 16-17 hours a day. The zero tilt is perfect. The keys nice to the touch even though it takes some time getting used to how light they are. And it's quiet. The old clack panel could be heard all around the house, but none of that anymore.
The MX900 mouse is a bit heavy, but that's normal for cordless mice. The accuracy is nice indeed and it's comfortable to use. Battery life isn't so great if you tend to like the mouse pointer speed slow. On high speed movement with accelleration set to medium the battery will last almost a week.
The media pad is cool too, although just an incomplete accessory. For example, nice calculator but no backspace to fix a mistyped number. No backlit LCD either, so in the dark there's no use seeing anything on it. Only works with Outlook Express with regards to e-mail notification. No big deal though.
For styling... this is spot on. The best looking setup I've ever seen and pleasing to the eye if you have to sit for hours trying to feel unstressed in front of a PC.
Connectivity was only a minor hassle. Without the Widcomm software there'd be times when the keyboard would not be picked up by the hub or software. Been happening on the replacement keyboard as well, but I am relating this to the lack of installing the widcomm bluetooth software.
Why is that important? Well, if you've gone and installed Service Pack 2 you might want to look at another product. The Widcomm software conflicts with th MS bluetooth stack. At present I have no bluetooth software, but all components are connected and functioning correctly. However, I cannot use my wonderful bluetooth hub to find other devices. WindowsXP reckons there is no bluetooth device. It's a known issue, with many a solution but they're all a pain. Thanks Microsoft. Logitech have also not provided a good solution to this problem.
So, other than driver (Widcomm and MS) software I really like this product. It's a very tidy setup indeed. I am still working on finding a decent solution to the software problem and the related disconnects.
7 Excellent Design & Performance
I saw the DiNovo desktop and immediately was taken by the design. The styling, color and cordless factor fit in wonderfully with my all black Shuttle SB75G2 and black LCD. I started to get a little concerned after reading some of the comments left by people about lag and software issues. I went for it anyway, followed the advice on Logitech's forums about how to install the software and updates (not taking ANY shortcuts or deviating from the order of install). IT HAS WORKED FLAWLESSLY! The only quirks are that if I have been away from my PC and it has gone to screensaver, the bluetooth seems to 'sleep' and takes a couple seconds to reconnect (all I have to do is click a key or the mouse). I do not notice any lag with the devices at all, I even play Day of Defeat online without trouble (not necessarily an endorsement for gamers, but certainly workable). The software has worked well and I can use the keyboard across the room from my couch without losing connection (approx. 10' - haven't tried further).
Anyone thinking of this should not be scared off by those negative reviews, they seem to be user problems rather than hardware/software problems.
8 Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Troubles
On my second diNovo keyboard right now. The 1st (returned) keyboard generated double characters along the number key row all the way over to the PgUp key. Imagine how anoying that is when your trying to login. Exact same recognition errors on the 1st keyboard as the second.
While I have been in love with all of Logitech devices (over 10) previously this device falls way short on software execution. My P4 would not recognize the keyboard which meant I had to plug in a corded keyboard just to log in. Then while Live, unplug this keyboard and plug in the diNovo. I hate doing that, It's just not right and I doubt its truly safe for the system.
Thats when the real fun begins!
Logitech's software would not and never did recognize the keyboard. No matter how many different methods I tried, including all of the "recomended procedures" it was NEVER recognized by Logitech's software.
If you want an opinion, skip All of Logitech's reconition software and go ahead and use the additional Bluetooth software for recognition. This requires you to enter a "ID key" for the keyboard as well as the media keypad. Whats not apparent is that, as you enter these digits, you don't have any way of knowing your entry is being accepted. Take my advice and enter the key digits and press the enter key anyway. You'll know soon enough if your entry was accepted or not.
I had plans to use this keyboard from the couch, with the 50" plasma as my display. While this eventually does work, Logitech is to be scolded and kept late into the night after "working hours" until they can execute this the wayt it should have been in the 1st place. Very bad, Logitech, very, Very BAD!
I have and will always use trackballs for my pointing device. I hate sliding mice, because if your editing a bitmap for instance, the mouse always moves to the wrong pixel when I click on the buttons. Besides, I don't have plans to have a flat "desk" to run these mice around on. My favorite is the their cordless optical trackman. Since I could not buy the diNovo with this mouse, I'm made to utilize both mice, which is fine, IF IT ALWAYS WORKED. It appears that the two pointing devices are nearly mutually exclusive, which means your gonna have trouble trying to keed the trackman conected. It happens to work right now, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
This installation was performed on a very clean, fresh install of W2K, meaning All windows updates were installed, all of the new hardware device drivers were downloaded and installed etc. All of this was performed before installing any sotware, including the diNovo.
I am so freaking mad at Logitech right now. $250 for this, thats unacceptable.
PS. The setpoint software on the CD is 1.02. The current download is 2.11. Neither works as they should.
Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. Included below is a copy of my original debug emails, verbatim.
(...).
9 Disappointed... Problems after only 1 week of use...
I am actually using diNovo keyboard to type this review, and it is a bit of a struggle due to malfunctioning spacebar. :(
I did a bit of research on diNovo before buying it. Most online magazines (PCMag, CNet, etc.) highly recommend this product, noting its high price as the only drawback.
I got this keyboard/mouse combo a week ago, and I must say it looks and feels great. Separate keyboard and touchpad save you desk space. Mouse runs all day without a need for recharging.
I didn't experience any connection issues. It was only one time that I had to press the "connect" buttons on BlueTooth hub and mouse to have it re-detected because it stopped functioning all of the sudden.
The initial installation was smooth. I downloaded the latest drivers, got everything connected and everything went well from there... until yesterday.
All of the sudden the space bar (probably the most useable key on any keyboard) started losing response. I had to hit it harder to move the cursor and even then, at times, it would not respond. As I type this, I often have to hit the spacebar 4-5 times in order to make a single space between the words.
Another problem surfaced early this morning. The lower "fast scroll" mouse button would sometimes result in a "locked" fast scroll. This could be a software issue, I am not sure.
One thing is for certain, the assembly quality seems to be on the lower side. I reached this conclusion based not only on personal experience, but by reading other customer reviews and comments. Given the high price of this product, I am extremely disappointed, if not angry. This is probably the most expensive keyboard/mouse combo on the market, and one thing Logitech should have made sure is that it is of solid build quality. The product is produced by a Logitech plant in China, by the way.
***Update***
I have now received the replacement diNovo mouse/keyboard, and it's been working fine for 2 months now. The only complaint I have is that F6, F7, F8 keys are REAL stiff and hard to press.
Again, build quality is highly disappointing considering high product price.
On the bright side, I was pleased with Logitech support. They are easy to reach at toll-free number with virtually no waiting times. The replacement product was sent to me in timely manner.
10 Beautiful Set Up!!! Where are the Mac drivers?
As a Mac user, this is the keyboard I expected to see come out of Cupertino. Since Apple has decided to not move to a 'more than one button' set-up (at this point it is just ego) I decided to snag one of these guys from Ebay on the cheap. Instantly, I loved it. Five minutes later I was ticked off to find that it does not work with OS X... well it does it you rig it up but th numerical keyboard does not work AT ALL. It is just a really expensive calculator at this point. What really gets me is how simple it would be for Logitech to write a simple driver so that Mac users, who are notoriou for over spending for great design, could use their product. Talk about a swing and a miss... shame on you Logitech. Same.
11 If you don't like notebook keyboard, this one either.
A beautiful product, but not so comfortable. The feeling of keystroke is very similar to gerenal notebook keyboard.
The mediapad is not a good idea for non-western language, you will get ???? for all non-western character. And I get my mediapad RMAed twice (a tedious procedure that I won't mention here). The idea of media center is not as useful, because the software is tightly integrated with MS Media Player, so I can not get any benefit from my iTunes.
If you don't use keyboard often, and need some beautiful gadget on your desktop, I would recommend this. Otherwise, find other robust keyboard.
12 wireless is wonderful
This was really easy to set up because you don't have to figure out what plugs into what, and I love that I can be up to 30 feet away from the computer and it still works because of the Bluetooth. I can even be in the next room, which comes in handy when you work from home like I do.
13 Beautiful, but functionality is problematic at best.
After having this keyboard for two days I'm returning it because
I'm already frustrated with pressing the connect button on
EVERY device every time I boot up. It is a beautiful, slick
keyboard and the mouse is great. But it's of no use to me if
I have to go through this connection hassle EVERY TIME I BOOT UP. Logitech should not have put this thing on the market without testing it futher, and if this is indicative of bluetooth technology... best of luck to them.
Forget it, back to my wired keyboard and optical mouse.
14 Very good product
A bought this keyboard a week ago and it is working fine.
I have a IBM T21 laptop with a Sony flat screen and Windows XP Pro. I use my computer 30 to 60 mn a day.
I plugged the Bluetooth hub on a USB hub connected to the only USB port of my laptop.
It took me 20 mn to do the set up. Both the keyboard and the mouse worked perfectly right away. I did not need to install the Logitech driver. I have still not installed it yet and I think I will not. I may not have all functionalities but it does not matter to me.
I did not notice any pb with the batteries so far.
I like the design of the keyboard. It's a pleasant touch.
The mouse is nice but a little bit overweighted in my view. It has back/forward buttons which are usefull for Web navigation.
15 Not for a professional
It is a quality keyboard/mouse and bluetooth works fine, but there are some problems: Some keys are in different places and that makes it difficult to get used to when using another PC with standard keyboard layout. The Scroll Lock key is missing which was critical in my case. It has a built-in clock which cannot display in 24-hour format, yet it is neither in 12-hour format (shows invalid 00 AM). After coming out of standby, keyboard is unresponsive (although keystrokes are actually not lost) for a while. Basically, this unit has a several peculiar bad designs/bugs which makes it unsuitable for programmers or techs.
16 nice design, but often stops working
Nice keyboard, nice design, but its no good if it doesn't work. Setup was problematic. Just stops working on occassion, not much good if it looks and feels great but just doesn't work!
Will change my rating if it works!
17 Nice keybaord, but beware of problems
This is a really nice keyboard and mouse combo.. when it works. Being a top of the line product and the high price, you would expect that Logitech would place a big emphasis on quality control. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be the case as I've had to return my keyboard after only two weeks. During the first week, two of the keys stopped working, then they became stuck on permanently and finally stopped working again.
The keyboard is also very battery hungry. The media pad range was diminished by about half after only two weeks of using it so you better keep a healthy supply of AA batteries on hand. The mouse runs flat after 2-3 days if you don't remember to put it in the recharge docking station at night. I also had reoccurring problems with connectivity whereby the software would prompt for a blue-tooth connection code.
Although Logitech claims full pre-boot support, I couldn't get into the windows pre-boot menu, only the BIOS.
All of this may sound like doom and gloom, but in reality it still is an awesome keyboard, especially the media pad with the LCD display. You'd put up with most of the problems if the whole combo was a lot cheaper, but given the top of the line cost, you should get top of the line product, which unfortunately you don't.
18 The Worst keyboard on earth
Very simple, if you want your life to be in peace, please don't even think to buy this. I literally had to throw this in to the trashcan. It worked, nice for a few months, (2), then the nightmare started. Losing connection every 15 minutes, then the left ctrl key, stopped to work, then the left alt key. I reinstalled every thing several times, without any success.
Finally, to get this nightmare worst, 2 key pads came out.
I wrote several times to Logitech. No answer.
I decided to throw it away. Very very disappointed, and it wasn't a $ 25 keyboard
19 great but key problem
this is a great set, not so easy to install though. Once you pass that, the whole set is great. amazing feel, responsiveness, connectivity, everything. THe only and huge problem I had is that the left side control key got kinda stuck. stopped working then. and so far no support from logitech, no email reply, no nothing. its bad for such an amount of money. if this is solved, without a doubt this is the best keyboard around. neat. but...
20 Great Looking and very nice to use ... But .....
First of all i went to the local computer superstore looking for Wireless LAN equipment to install in my home. When i was able to choose what i wanted, the sales lady offered me the DiNovo with deferred payment (start paying 6 months after, and pay for 12 months installment) Why shouldn't i grab it? I was always looking to buy the Cordless MX bundle but never had it integrated in my budget. But when i was offered this deal i took it for many reasons (although it was 3 times more expensive) 1st. it looks SOOO COOL. 2nd. I just got Wifi, why not get BlueTooth to boot. 3rd. It was installment AND deffered payment.
Anyway, to make a long story short, i am very pleased with it as the keyboard is SOO nice to use even for playing games. and the mouse too. I like the keyboards soft touch (much like my Acer Laptop) as compared to the normal keyboard which by the way my brother bangs away at with unsettling strength. At least now with the DiNovo, it is very quiet. I guess it just feels so right typing with that kind of tactile feedback. The mouse is very responsive and i just love it to death. Just dont leave it off the cradle for more than 3 days (like i did one weekend) because youll run the batteries down. But hey, 3 days is a long time to go without charging, right?
BUT.... That is if you get it to work from the start... GRR!!!! Problem is most of the time with this keyboard, it takes about 10 seconds after the Log-in screen in windows XP before you can start using the mouse (thats why i always have a spare USB mouse to plug at the front USB port) and worse, i most of the time cannot access my BIOS screen by pressing ESC. I don't know but it seems that the problem is the drivers or the hardware takes a long time to initialize. Much like a scanner ?!? that has to warm up.
Well, once it starts working.. VROOOOMM!!! No complaints. Once it initializes. I have tried the bluetooth hub with both my Nokia 3650 and SonyEricsson T610 and they connected no problem.
I just really hope Logitech addresses this issue (of the keyboard not working on startup) because i cannot open my BIOS, and when i get the Windows XP "safe-mode, Normal, last good config" scree, i cannot choose anything. Geez... Logitech, please get your act together. I love your product to death but like a small child, it gives me frequent headaches.
21 Too much trouble
I bought this keyboard/mouse for the design, which I think is very nice, I also appreciate that the keyboard is moderately sized since the numeric keyboard can be placed elsewhere (I never use it anyway).
However had I known of all the trouble this product would give me, I would never have bought it. Some of the problems may be driver-related and hopefully solved some time. I think Logitech put this product to market too early, before it was mature. Just take a look at the Logitech Discussion Forum at http://forums.logitech.com/pe/action/forums/defaultview?msgBoardID=10100207.
The problems that I have with this product are:
* I cannot turn on the PC from the keyboard. It used to work but for some reason it stopped. I also cannot enter the BIOS, it seems the PS/2 connection has simply stopped working. Thank god I still have my old 20 $ keyboard.
* The keyboard/mouse regularly disconnects from Bluetooth when logging off, making it necessary to reconnnect and/or reset the mouse and keyboard.
* When logging in, the mouse/keyboard is initialized causing several 1-10 sec. periods where they don't react.
As a result of these problems, my wife is simply not able to use the PC anymore since the manual procedures needed to make it work are just too complex.
The only reason I still hold on to this product is that I hope that updated drivers or Windows SP2 will help solve these problems. Before you buy, take a look at the Logitech Discussion Forum to see if that is the case.
22 drivers lacking. ati deja vu
The Bad:
The buttons on this mouse do not function as MOUSE4 and MOUSE5, as do the micrsoft intellimouse in games. Good luck binding them to actions.
The setpoint software (currently version 1.04) is extremely clunky and feels like it was rushed to be made. In order to use the taskswitch button on the mouse, you must install this software. The software implements a different method for mouse acceleration than the windows driver. To get a feel for what the "low" mouse acceleration is with the SetPoint software, set your windows mouse acceleration to "high". The media buttons on the keyboard still work, but without the setPoint software, you must have your media player set as the active window for next track buttons to work. If you're in a game, you can either install setpoint, and have your mouse acceleration altered, or not install setpoint, and not be able to control your music in-game.
As of the date of this writeup, the LCD display will only get email messages from Outlook Express. Outlook 2000/XP, or any other email program will not work with the display. Only MSN Messenger will display messages - users of yahoo and aol instant messenger will not benefit from the display. There are currently no public plans to support any other software packages. There is no public API for programming the Logitech DiNovo keyboard/mouse combo.
Don't expect your bluetooth cell phone to take full advantage of the logitech bluetooth hub. Currently the only cell phone that allows transfer, sync, AND text messaging through the keyboard is the Siemens S56. Check the logitech site for information on which bluetooth devices work with the bluetooth hub.
The MediaKeypad also feels more like you're holding a book in your hand, and not as much a remote control. It's a lot larger in real life.
The good:
Excellent keyboard and mouse with feel and ergonomics.
Bluetooth hub also doubles as a mouse recharging station.
Media pad has a 4-function "calculator" mode. Media pad can be put on either side of the keyboard, or even in your desk drawer... which is where it will probablly end up, since the LCD screen will probablly only function for you to display the current date.
23 Beautifully designed, cutting-edge technology that works!
I'm a computer consultant and I just upgraded to a new Dell i8600 laptop. I ordered it with a built-in Bluetooth card, with the idea that I would find a wireless Bluetooth keyboard and mouse with it.
My goal was to be able to move my laptop from desk to couch (or airplane) and easily take my keyboard and mouse with me, without unplugging/replugging a wireless adapter with each move.
I looked at the original Microsoft Bluetooth KB/mouse, but after reading bad reviews on it, kept looking. I was also turned off by the size/shape/bulk of Logitech Cordless MX for BT, and was concerned that I might not find what I wanted.
When I saw the diNovo at CompUSA before Christmas, it was love at first sight. I then found a review that confirmed that it works, along with generally positive threads on the Logitech community site. I took the plunge, and ordered it from Amazon (to beat the high retail store price).
I have used it now for a good month, and still think it is fantastic: the right size and weight keyboard to sit comfortably in my lap (and me on the couch, where I'm typing from now). The mouse and KB both have a quality feel, and do what they do with great precision.
And most importantly, they work with the built-in Bluetooh card on my Dell -- even though I did have to sacrifice the full functionality of the MediaPad (which I really don't need anyway, nor do I use all the fancy buttons on the KB), because I did not install the SetPoint software (could not do this *and* use the built-in BT stack on my 8600).

24 Beautiful, well-engineered, the perfect snob keyboard
I'm a software developer, and I rely on my keyboard, mouse, monitors, and chair for my livelihood. Recently, I bought a diNovo setup to replace my aging Microsoft Natural, and I'm more than pleased by the change.
Having worked almost exclusively on a laptop for the past few years, I've become accustomed to the short-keystroke keyboard, and the diNovo keyboard feels EXACTLY right. It lies perfectly flat in the keyboard tray and responds with a light touch for rapid, easy typing. It's unencumbered by wires or other connections to the desktop, and I can move it around at will to get closer to books or to just get in a comfortable "web-surfer" pose. I would imagine other keyboards to be more ergonomically sound from some points of view, but the diNovo keyboard feels right to me--large enough, light and easy to type, and a joy to behold.
The mouse is large and heavy--just right for my tastes, and also wireless. It has a few extra buttons, but unlike other manufacturers, Logitech did not place the extras in positions to be inadvertently pressed. It has good resolution, and is easy to use for extended periods.
The best features of the set is undoubtedly the software. The keypad display responds to Windows Media Player by displaying the current track, time, etc. Scroll-lock, Num-lock, System volume, and other settings are displayed in an on-screen display like those of your television, quickly alerting you to the accidental caps-lock press BEFORE you scream-and-backspace. All hot-keys and whatnot are controllable through the software; the set is easily configurable to your every whim.
I love it, and I haven't even USED Bluetooth yet for anything other than the included pieces. It will be interesting to see how the batteries hold up (4 in the keyboard, 2 for the pad, and 2 rechargeable in the mouse) in the long-term, but for now, I'm completely satisfied.
