Logitech Dual Action Game Pad USB (963292-0403)

Compras Nikon
Bluetooth
The Logitech Dual Action Gamepad... it's the ultimate precision instrument, whether you're going for the tackle, the kill, the gold, or the finish line. The comfortable grip keeps you at the top of your game for hours of play, and the familiar design and layout of the action buttons and triggers will have you dominating in no time.
1 THIS IS THE WORST PAD EVER!!!!! dont get it!!!
I bought this pad and it only lasted about an hour!!! I tried calibrating it and it still didnt work. the only thing that broke was the analog sticks which is the most important part. whatever you do DONT BY THIS GAMEPAD because it will come back to haunt you and horrify you with its BAADDDNESS!!!

(Instead of this controller I would recomend a microsoft pad)
2 D-Pad issues
The D-Pad on this controller is terrible. It feels mushy, but more importantly it impossible to consistenly hit any single direction. If you try to go right, you will often press up or down in addition, resulting in diagonal movement. This can be devastating, depending on the game. For example, it is impossible to reliably perform even simple fighting game moves such as SubZero's freeze or Ken/Ryu's fireball. Also, this pad lacks a button to swap the D-Pad with the left analog stick.

The Saitek P880 is much better in this area. Also, Logitech fixed these issues when they made their Rumblepad 2, but it's a bit more expensive due to the rumble feature. If you think you ever might want to use the D-Pad, buy one of those other controllers instead of this one.
3 Hunk a' Junk
This game pad will work very well for two or three months until the left analog stick malfunctions. This is not a very durable piece of hardware.
4 I don't get it why people think this gamepad bites.
I owned this Logitech Dual Action Game Pad (from January 2005) and I bought it so I could play it with Pro Evolution Soccer 4. It works well and with the latest Logitech drivers. I could control a soccer player easily and kick easily.

I've got one thing to say to the people that gave this wonderful PlayStation style-like controller:

Is it me? Or are you delusioned? Otherwise you're probably jealous of Logitech's good sleek quality manufacturing and have nothing better to say than to rather pick on the company. Well, stop covering it and admit it! If your control pad is defected / faulty, then there is no more than you have purchased a second hand item. Way to fuel to the fire with the 'bad reviewers'.

I'm not sure about the control pad's durability, though I haven't seriously dropped it. So I give it a 4.

Best controller out there.
5 teh foock
Ok heres the lowdown, I don't know what came over the designers of these new game pads, but I havent purchased a recently made controller yet with a high quality d-pad. Which brings me to this controller, which suffers from the same issue as the rest. If you are buying this controller to play any game on your computer that require you to use your d-pad forget about it. The action is delayed and finicky. The d-pad sticks and cuts down on the percision in your gameplay. Bottom line, it sucks Im returning it. Im going to search for a controller made a couple years ago when, for some reason, computer controller makers knew how to make d-pads. If I could give this controller 0 stars I would.
6 Problem filled Gamepad
I want to make this review rather short. First, it's an easy to install Gamepad and looks very promising. You have the easy PS2 feel, dual-analog control pads, and a comfortable fit. You can install the drivers or not. It doesn't really make a difference because Windows will recognize it.

The problem with this Gamepad is that it is not very durable. I bought and tested this controller with MVP Baseball 2005 & Need for Speed Underground 2. What happened is, I had to take the controller back 3 times to have it replaced because the analog sticks would give out or get stuck in a certain postion. Now, in MVP Baseball, for example, you need the right stick to dive/slide with. Well, the analog stick stuck to the right in 2 of them I tried, so that ends up leaving you to have automatic fielding because you can't get to the ball when the player is diving for no reason. With Need for Speed, I found that the 1 controller where the left analog stick went out, the cars were just out of control.

There are many reviews online as I have found that confirm that Logitech never addressed this controllers issues. Even Tech. Support kept telling me I had just bought a bad controller when I called them on each one.

Be aware, once the analog stick goes, whether it is 2 days or 2 months, you can't calibrate it. The GamePad is useless. I would suggest you go with Nyko's AirFlo Gamepad instead. I've had no problems with that one.
7 The same problem as everyone else.....
This is a great, great controller. While it lasts. It was absolutely perfect for me. No-nonsense, let me play NHL perfectly. Then the calibration issues started, say, two weeks later. I can no longer move my hockey players to the right, which is vexing to say the least. I would not, unfortunately, recommend this buy. It seems lots of people wind up in this boat.
8 Software allows you to progam controller for ANY pc game!
I just got my controller so I cant really talk about durability but as far as being able to program the controller with the logitech software it is great! It took me about an half hour to tweak the controller to perfection for Doom 3. Yes, I play Doom 3 with a analog controller! You can tweak the speed of every part of the controller and at first you put it as fast as it can go but thats TOO FAST! This controller is precise and can be used with ANY game as long you use the software included. Now, instead of using the keyboard and mouse I can play Doom 3 and Half Life 2 like a console game. If you want to use a console controller for 1st person shooters on the PC get this!
9 Could have been a great gamepad...
I've owned two of these gamepads and both turned out to be defective and unreliable. The first one suffered from the common left analog stick problem maybe three months after buying it. My second one suddenly stopped being recognized by Windows XP and kept showing up as an unknown USB device (even after installing and reinstalling drivers & software). Once again, after about three or four months of VERY light usage.

The layout of the gamepad was near perfect for my tastes, and as others have mentioned, it emulated a PS2 controller very well. In today's market, many gamepads look more like toy spaceships than something you would actually control a game with, and this one appeared to focus more on functionality and comfort. Unfortunately, everything that is great about this gamepad is completely negated by it's horrible reliability.

I gave this model a second chance and was burnt a second time. I won't be buying a third. It could have been a great gamepad, but unfortunately Logitech really messed up on the quality control. There are people who haven't had problems claiming that it's a fantastic gamepad, and they're right. However, the greatness of the gamepad disappears as soon as things start breaking, and this appears to happen to most people that buy one. If you've got the money to waste, you won't find a closer match to a PS2 controller. However, it is almost guaranteed that you will have problems somewhere down the road.
10 one of the best
ive played with tons of different controllers, and well this is one of the best in my opinion. though i like my gamecube one better this comes in at a strong 2nd, feel of it is great, the controls are great. ive owned about 3 of them due to my bad temper.
11 Initally Great , but months later its JUNK!
I bought this controller because the others at the store looked too bulky and cheeezy, but this one had a great look and was the best emulation of the Playstation 2 controller. Initially it worked great, I loved it as I played Need For Speed Underground 1 & 2. It was about 4 or 5 months later when I noticed some calibration issues that would come n go. Soonafter the left analog joystick wouldnt move left or right. Sometimes it wouldnt move to the right and then randomly fix itself. So I went online and downloaded the latest drivers and looked for support at the Logitech site. I did everything they suggested and the left stick is still basically dead. Then i checked the properties of the gamepad, sure enough the left analog stick was stuck more to the left and would only go right as far as the midpoint. Calibration sux, I woudlnt buy this controller because I noticed that too many ppl had this unrepairable same problem. Look around for reviews of other controllers before purchasing...looks can be deceiving!
12 Disappointing
I was used to the XBOX controller, and bought this for my PC. It is uncomfortable to hold, and a strain on my hands to operate the buttons for any extended period of time. They need to examine the xbox controller a little more closely and learn from it. The left joystick is very much of a strain on my thumb to use. I am disappointed.
13 Can't perform - by a hardcore gamer
This gamepad seemed fine out of the box. Initially I didn't have any complaints, except that the 4-directional button would stick. I decided that this would be something I could live with, and didn't return it. This is an ongoing problem that causes mild annoyance. However, as the months progressed this product continued to deteriorate.

The analog sticks are made of an inferior material that will wear down.

Recently I've been experiencing partial gamepad failure, where I can not control movement in certain directions, or it will fail to respond completely as though I had unplugged it. In these situations I have to quit then restart the game completely in order to get proper response out of it. This has been happening with greater frequency, and I am forced find another pad.

I do not recommend this unless you want to waste your money for its short-term use. I play FFXI so I put the product through a lot, but needless to say the problems are inevitable, given a bit of time.
14 same problems as everyone else
I've had the same problems as everyone else. For about a month, it was the best PC gamepad I've had. Then the left stick started drifting, and then started going in one direction only, and then stopped working. Try playing FIFA 2005 when your players only run and kick to their right. Plugging and unplugging seriously only corrects the problem for about a minute before the same old signs start popping up. Save your $20.
15 Soft and Imprecise
I'm a child of the 80s. In a fit of nostalgia, I downloaded emulators for the NES, SNES, and Genesis. I use an employer-provided laptop for all of my personal computing needs; I've never needed to get my own PC. Because of that, I'm stuck with USB controllers; the laptop has no gaming port.

I was looking for a gamepad that would help me recapture that high-school gaming experience. I've played the PS and PS2 before, and I liked the format; I also figured it would allow me to play the NES, SNES, and Genesis games as well. I did some research online, and I couldn't find a clear winner. I came to the conclusion that all PC USB gamepads were basically equal. I picked up the Logitech Dual Action for me and the Nyko AirFlow for my girlfriend.

Man, was I wrong. The Logitech Dual Action is HORRIBLE! I'm used to using the D-pad; I never could use a joystick. The D-pad on this controller sucks. Maybe it's me; the NES controller was always firm and very forgiving of imprecise button presses. This thing picks up and magnifies every imperfection. Because I'm an NES child, I press hard on the controller. The D-pad simply yields too easily.

In contrast, the Nyko was easy to use. The buttons seemed to respond properly to my touch. I've only had these controllers for two days, so I can't speak for durability, but the Nyko seems to work well.

A note on emulator compatability: FCE Ultra (for NES) works fine with both controllers. Snes9x (for SNES) is awkward with the Logitech Dual Action; sometimes it doesn't respond to the D-pad, especially when there's a lot of simultaneous button pressing going on. Gens (for Genesis) won't even register the D-pad. Maybe I need new emulators, or it could be an incompatibility with USB gamepad signals. In either case, the gaming experience with all 3 emulators is less than ideal with both controllers.

I'm going to continue the search. I might go with one of those console controller to USB adapters.
16 May Or May Not Be Great
I bought one of these because of its PS2 like design. I've read the other reviews and I agree to some extent with most of them. This Game Pad plays great at first then it develops some problems, although I dropped mine about 3 times I'm not sure if the times I dropped it caused the problems or were merely an excuse for the problems. If you belive ZeroSky (and I do) then buy one and if you get any problems write a review. I'm surely going to buy another. By the way, all those guys with the rating at 2 or below 2, they should see where THEY went wrong and not blame the Game Pad
P.S. Buy it, its a great Game Pad but it may or may not let you down.
17 An excellent gamepad for my needs.
I've owned one of these for a while now, and it's the best PC gamepad I've used. For console controllers, the PS2 gamepad has always been my favorite by far, so the nearly identical layout of the Logitech Dual Action is perfect. I've found it to be an excellent controller for new and old games alike. I personally use it on various racing games, Sonic Adventure DX, Madden NFL 2005 (which supports it out of the box), and some other assorted things. My only complaints are that it doesn't have force feedback (doesn't bother me much) and that it's a little too easy to press the wrong direction on the D-pad, compared to something like the excellent PS2 D-pad. (that's usually not a problem for most games I use it with, though) Other than that, I'm very pleased with it.

By the way, just prior to posting this I've been reading many of the other reviews already here, and I have to say, I'm pretty surprised. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones, but I've had it since March 2004, and I have yet to have any problems with it. (no calibration trouble, no problems with the left stick, no needing to unplug and replug, etc.)
18 Not an everlasting joypad...
I bought this elsewhere as I was in need of a pad for my PC. I thought the PS2 controller look was pretty good, and the price was ok. Well, after a few months of Fifa 2004 and Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City, the left thumbstick grip on top wore down and then it started to lose its connection. The analog stick would have to be reconfigured every time I wanted to play something and even then it would become twitchy, so instead of say a player standing still they would take a step right or steering a speeding car in GTA and then suddenly lurching to the right, ARGH! CRASH!

This pad should be about $10.00 in my honest opinion and even then watch how much you use it. Won't last more than a few month - A definite budget model.
19 Jerks left or right
The 8 way D pad doesn't stay straight when moving forward. It jerks to the left or right and is way too touchy.

How annyong to play a game and not have full control.

The other parts of the controller seem OK. However, since the 8 way D pad is integral to this controller, the controller falls flat on its face. That's why it gets a 1 star. I'll have to return it and get another one.

** sigh ** thanks for wasting my time Logitech.

20 worked for awhile, then kaput
I echo the same sentiment as everybody else. It worked for the first few months, then it went. I uninstall/install the software, it works for awhile then boom, it stops working again. It's cheap, so I don't feel a bad burn, but it should be more durable. It's the first game controller I've bought, now I'll probably buy something other than a logitech.
21 Not another crappy D-pad I WOULD RATHER USE A KEYBOARD
Pc gamepads suck compared to the concole gamepads. I got this one because it looks like a playstation replica. I paid 20 dollars for this gamepad and it had unsatisfactory results.
I played n64 games on my pc using this gamepad and let me tell you there is no point in having a D-pad because it just doesnt work. I thought maybe there something wrong with the emulator but actually it is the gamepads fault. As for action pc games such as GTA VICE CITY I still had problems with the D-pad. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND JUST USE YOUR KEYBOARD.
22 Are you guys feeling okay? This pad is just fine.
I agree in saying that the others must have had bad luck. And as far as the analog, d-pad thing that one guy was talking about, if you go to www.logitech.com, you can get the latest drivers, which are excellent. They also contain an option to switch the D-pad with the left analog. So that problem's been fixed for quite some time. The controller is fast, responsive and solid all around. It's just like a playstation controller in every respect. This is perfect for $20.
23 Couldn't be paid to buy another one.
I bought this gamepad a few months ago for my PC. While it worked great for maybe a month or two, its response time and control accuracy have greatly diminished recently. Attempts to reconfigure the gamepad have thus proved futile. Hopefully, someone will heed my warning and steer clear of this atrocious gamepad.
24 BAD GAMEPADS
Steer clear of these gamepads. Actually you won't be able to steer anything because most likely in a matter of weeks they won't work. I bought two at the same time and had sporadic problems right from the start and now they just quit working completely. I've seen many people having exactly the same problems on discussion boards. Spend a little more money and stay away these controllers.
25 Lousy firmware, lousy software, and mechanically unreliable
I don't know what logitech was thinking when they released this to the public.

First, the worst problem with this joystick is that device firmware assigns the directional joypad, the most often used directional control in games as the THIRD set of axis (Axis 3 and Axis 4). The left analog stick is assigned as the FIRST set of axis (Axis 0 and Axis 1) which MOST games are assigned to use as the default control. Some games, especially older and freeware games don't support remapping the directional controls to the third set of axis so your stuck using the left analog stick as your main control even though you want to use the D-pad. This flys in the face of common sense. Most people ARE going to want to use the D-pad as their main control so why not assign that as Axis 0 and Axis 1 like 99% of the other gamepads on the market!?!

Second. The left analog stick eventually gets flakey and looses its calibration causing the controls to suddenly veer off in one direction, all for a control that I never wanted to use in the first place.

Third. I am an ardent Linux user and even I can't figure out how to get their Logitech Profile Manager software to work right. It's counterintuitive, entirely undocumented to say the least and is of no help in dealing with Logitechs completely nonstandard D-pad axis numbering scheme.

In the end, buy a real PS2 controller and get some kind of a adapter to hook it up to a USB port, or just buy a Gravis product. This product is NOT recommended.
26 Generally Good Controller Plagued By Few Problems
You may be interested in the Logitech¨ Dual Action? Gamepad for the same reason that I was: it is as close to a console pad as you can find and it doesn't cost all that much. $15-20 really isn't too bad of a price for one of these things considering the cost of certain other gamepads. But when you get into using the Logitech¨ Dual Action? Gamepad for any period of time you may start to notice certain problems popping up, and that might lead you to think that your money was not well spent.

The Logitech¨ Dual Action? Gamepad is wonderful out of the box, its feel and the response of the controls are both nice- with the exception of the difficulty you will experience with the directional pad on the left side (it is hard to move anything in a specific direction for long). Once you have 'worn it in', though, the Logitech¨ Dual Action? Gamepad starts to show some of its real nasty habits. Mostly it has to do with the 'dual action' portion of the gamepad- the analog joysticks. After playing an analog joystick-intensive game like, say, Madden football or NBA Live; the sticks (especially the left side) will start to lose its calibration on a regular basis. This is an easy fix: just unplug it and plug it back in. Though it does get tiring when you have to do this every 30 seconds. The other problem with the joysticks is that they just plain wear out. After many, many hours of play (as I have put to the test), you will notice that your joystick will not work in many ways no matter how many times you re-plug it in.

All in all, despite all of its problems, I like the Logitech¨ Dual Action? Gamepad and would recommend it to someone, as I have not found a more attractive alternative. My suggestion is that if you do buy one, buy it at Best Buy where you can also purchase a warranty on it. The warranty is only a few dollars more and if anything goes wrong with it- which WILL happen- you can return it for a brand new one, no questions asked. I, myself, am on my 9th controller. The hassle of having to go back to Best Buy aside (I shop there a lot anyway), I kind of like getting a new controller every few months- all for just the price of a few dollars more at purchase time. Buy the warranty.

27 Playstation-style joystick
I brought this joystick because it was the closest 'Playstation-style' joystick I could find for a computer. I thought it was okay initially due to its inability to program diagonal directions on the D-pad. Couldn't get it to program 2-keys simultaneously (i.e. Up arrow + left arrow for upper-left diagonal button). I ended up having to use the left axis joystick just so I can move diagonally. However, with the version 4.40 software update that came out at Logitech's website 6/22/04, I have to increase my rating. This joystick works great now! :) I can now use the D-Pad like those found on the Playstation controls (4 directional buttons instead of 8). This can be done by selecting the 'FPS Style Movement' option when editing D-Pad. Afterward, just program the 4 buttons--N, W, E, S to Up, left, Right, & Down. Now, pressing diagonal buttons on the D-pad will result in diagonal movements. I suggest uninstalling old joystick software & temporary disable anti-virus before updating to v4.40. Else, you may run into `Windows restarting' problems when attempting to run `profiled' games like I did. There are other improvements with the updated software, but I haven't tried those yet. Don't get me wrong this joystick still need improvement, like some said...it's sometimes hard to press left without accidentally verging to upper left or lower left on the D-pad. Some people mentioned having calibration problems. I rarely have these, if I did, moving the axis stick around for a few seconds or restarting the game seems to fix the problem. So, I far haven't had calibration problems yet with software update v4.40. Then only time will till if that will change. Also, another improvement Logitech could make is the material used on the D-pad buttons. It should use similar material as the axis sticks (soft rubber) instead of hard plastic. Also, making directional button cross shape (+) would made D-pad less error-prone to verging into wrong directions. Even with some of these joystick's shortcomings, I still think this joystick is a good buy :). It's better than most that I tried and cheaper too, now priced around $15. I would recommend this joystick for those who especially use emulators and like Playstation-style joystick.
28 What a piece of junk!
This controller doesn't stay calibrated for longer than a few seconds before going kaput, and the digital controls don't work for anything requiring holding them or rapid action.
29 Stay away from this!
Don't buy it. If people will stop buying this gamepad then Logitech will start taking customers' feedback seriously.
This gamepad is a waste of money. The Internet is full of complains about this pad, all with same problems. We are not fools, we have been robbed, period. Yes, there maybe be 2 people that were happy with it, but there are thousands that only wasted their money. If you want to take the chance and try to be one of those 2-3 lucky people, then buy it. My suggestion is to not buy anything else from Logitech anymore. Not only they robbed me, they didn't even pay attention to my complains.
Not 2, but a THOUSAND of thumbs down!!
30 Great controls that don't last long
When I first bought the Logitech Dual Analog game pad the controls were the best and it was recommended for EA Sports games. After awhile the game pad would connect and disconnect. Then, the left analog stick would not move to the right and I found my currently controlled player moving on it's own. I bought another one and that one broke too. Too bad the controller doesn't last long.
31 Dunno about the analog stick yet, but...
The directional pad simply sucks. I've only had it for a day, and despite the overally comfort and setup ease of this controller, the directional pad is another one of those "nearly impossible to just hold up without going diagonal as well" pads. You push up, and 95% of the time you will either be going up+right or up+left, and ditto for all other directions, down, left or right.... its the most frustrating thing in the world, ever try playing a game like Silent Hill on one of these controllers? Its a nightmare (no pun intended)
32 Unlucky Customers???
Based on my experience with the logitech dual action game pad, i've had absolutely no problems. i'm guessing that these other customers only had problems because of their computer of maybe they got a defected controller. i currently have windows xp and right after plugging in the controller into a usb port, the controller was instant recognized! i didn't even have to config it! there was a cd that came with the product, however, that was only used to install the program that could customize the controls to be used in games. as for the life of this controller, i have had it for almost 7 months and this is still working great! no big problems have come up with the controller at all! at worst, most of the problems can be fixed by simply unplugging and replugging in the controller. take my word for and consider buying this controller, its great!
33 Bad product - Lost all respect for Logitech
I bought 2 and both have the same major problem. Both have the analog stick calibration drift problem, which is widespread and well-documented online (check out the logitech web site user forums). Unfortunately, Logitech is totally ignoring the problem despite a tremendous amount of complaints (presumably because it is a unpatchable hardware problem). I am also upset with EA for endorsing it for MVP Baseball 2004. I replaced it with the comparable Saitek P880, which has worked well for me so far.
34 Another Broken Unit
I bought this item before reading these reviews but wish I had read them first. The controller is terrific except for the "minor" detail that the left stick went out after a couple of weeks. First I noticed a slight drift and now it completely freezes during game play on a regular basis. Sure you can fix it; exit the game, unplug and replug the device, and restart the computer. However, as I don't consider this a benefit I'll be returning today and finding another product.
35 Flawed Control Plagued by Calibration Issues
I've gone through two of these, shipping off #2 to logitech for them to replace again. The issue is that after about 2 months this controller will start to have a calibration drift, where if you play with it for a steady time period, the calibration will go off center and you have to unplug it and plug it back in again. The time it takes for this drift to occur seems to get less and less as time goes on. The first controller I had, they told me this was a known issue and had already been fixed in firmware. They then sent me a replacement that did the same thing, only less pronounced. Even though this is only $20, it's not worth the hassle. Just get a USB adapter for a PS2 or PS1 controller.
36 DO NOT BUY IT! BEWARE LEFT ANALOG!
This controller is good for games that dont require use of the left analog stick. This analog stick broke like in 3 days. Logitech made a fortune out of us that bought they're controller. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING THIS CONTROLLER
37 Don't buy this controller
It didn't take two weeks for this controller to lose control of the left analog pad, actually, it was more like 2 days.

I bought this gamepad because it said that it was compatible with FIFA 2004 -- well, when it is working, it is just great, but many times, it loses control DURING a match.

I'm going to buy a different company's controller this week.

38 Great gamepad - Horrible Durability
This gamepad is great - if it worked.

Just like ALL OF THE OTHER REVIEWERS have described, my Left Analog stick is no longer functioning properly. It will not respond when moving it to the right. I have only had the controller for about 2+ weeks, and I am far from a heavy gamepad user.

These controllers should obviously be recalled.

UPDATE: I have been able to recalibrate the controller by unplugging it from the USB connector on my PC. I have to do this daily. NOT GOOD.

UPDATE2: I bought a new controller (and returned the old one), and so far after about 4 weeks, no more calibration problems. Maybe they got the problem fixed? If the calibration problem stays away, I would give this 4+ stars.
39 LEMON
Wow, I see a running theme here. I firt bought the controller a couple of months ago. After a couple of weeks the left analog controller went out. It wouldn't respond at all. I took it back and got a new controller thinking the one I had originally was just defective. A couple of weeks later it went bad too.

The controller is great when it works. But the sad thing is that it doesn't work for very long. Worthless. I thought Logitech made good stuff too.

40 This product REALLY doesn't work...
I read the other reviews and thought they must have been unlucky. So I went out to buy the Logitech Dual Action and it was a great gamepad for about 3 weeks until the left stick started acting weird. I'm playing a lot of Madden NFL 2004 and after every snap my QB moves now to the left even without touching the pad. It sucks and makes this product useless. I deserve it though because I didn't listen to the other reviewers. My advice: DON'T BUY IT!
41 left analog stick is generally wrong
I bought in December this gamepad and after two days the left analog stick went wrong. Since this stick has a basic role during gaming if it is not working, the whole gamepad is useless. Then I read that everybody has the same problem with this gamepad. Otherwise this gamepad has the best button layout, the installing sofware is very good, so I am really sorry the poor quality analog stick.
42 Defective Product
As mentioned the left analog stick is horribly defective. It will send input when centered, not send input when moved, lose it's calibration, whatever you want to call it, but in short, you lose all control of your game. Probably the right stick does it too, but I don't use it for movement so I wouldn't notice.

I returned mine 3 times, so I tested 4 controllers. ALL were defective in the exact same way. My old faithful Wingman Rumblepad works flawlessly.

I have been waiting now for 3 weeks on an RMA replacement from Logitech. They claim "The product is out of stock, and will be shipped as soon as possible". So, in 3 weeks Logitech themselves are unable to obtain their own gamepads? I suspect they are waiting for a new version with the defects remedied.

IF...IF they fix the analog sticks, this would be an excellent gamepad. IF! At this point though, how would a new customer know which one they were getting, the new non-defective version (if it exists), or the same old defective ones from a stockpile in some warehouse?

43 These people are on crack!!!! This thing rocks!
I have owned the microsoft and the gravis gamepads, and this one just hands down blows em away. If you play NHL2004, get this pad!!!!
44 Everything is well until the left analog starts to act weird
Just like what everybody is saying, but it doesn't seem that severe to me though. Played NFS: Underground and Prince of Persia with it, when you constantly move the analog button, you won't feel any difference. It is only when you let go off the button and suddenly your guy started to walk by itself! Pity pity, it could be the perfect gamepad out there that resembles PlayStation gamepad...
45 Don't bother...
I just bought it, and I'm taking it back. It worked for about 15 seconds and hasn't worked since...cheap junk.
46 Mixed bag
On the plus side: The controller is very comfortable, the button layout is familiar and versatile, and the analog control is very good... at first.

On the down side: The directional pad tends to go diagonally if not pressed exactly right, and the analog sticks wear out very quickly, becoming jittery and losing chunks of their field of movement sporadically during use. Also, the profiler software kills the use of my other gamepad when it is booted up.

All in all, this is what could be a flawless pad - except for a couple of flaws, one of them major.

Logitech is apparently working on a version with more viable analog sticks, and these should be available by april 2004.

47 Very bad choice
Horrible choice for gamepad, controllers go nutty in any game... nothing can be done to fix it.. pure $19.99 crap.
48 2 stars because I like the design
Do not buy this pad. I had the same issue the other person wrote.. The left analog stick goes crazy after 15 minutes of playing. The Wingman Action pad also had this problem. Can anyone at Logitech fix this?? I'm definitely not buying the logitech pad the next ime.
49 Very Nice
This is a very nice controller. The buttons are the same as on a Playstation 2 controller. It has 2 analog joysticks that are very nice with rubber grips. It feels solid and comfortable, and has a comfortable weight. The buttons are very nice also. They require little force to press, and give a soft 'snap' feel when pressed. They do not have any noise, and each has a number from 1 to 12. The software is very nice, and will make it work with games that do not use controllers. It allows you to make buttons correspond to mouse and keyboard keys. For example, you could make button 1 act as a Enter key and button 2 act as the space key. You can use all the keys on a keyboard and mouse and you can even make a single button do more than one thing. You can make a joystick move the mouse cursor around, too. Overall, this is the best controller you can get for the price!
50 Avoid this gamepad like the plague.
This is a very poorly made product. I have had to have it replaced 3 times (in 2 months). After a week or two of casual gameplay, the movement detection on the left analog stick gets all crazy - my character will gitter and move spontaneously all on his own. Needless to say, this can be frustrating. I do not reccomend purchasing this gamepad.
