1 Excellent controller, but not for small hands!
First off, logitech makes great stuff. Their PC peripherals are the best in the market right now, and their xbox equipment is the same way.
Pros:
-Great price
-Coolest looking controller out there
-Excellent button placement
-Joystick is amazing, very loose and smooth
-Triggers have a good feel to them
-Great solid feel
Cons
-Not for people with small hands
For most people, this is an excellent controller. It's smaller than "the duke", but larger than the xbox controller s.
Personally, I really liked the look and feel of this controller, but had to switch back to the xbox s because my hands are a bit on the smaller side and I just couldn't get used to it.
2 Excellent controller - probably the best in the market
This control is very good. The handling feels great, very ergonomic and the buttons are placed in an excelent ditribution. The construction seems very durable, made with high quality materials. At this price I think it's worth every penny. The only "bad" thing is that it may be too big for small hands...
3 Decent controller for the price
I've always liked the quality of Logitech game controllers so I thought I'd give this controller a try. Plus, I was too cheap to shell out $30 for the Controller S. The Logitech Precision is indeed a very good quality controller. The plastic casing is smooth and has no sharp edges. It definitely feels better than the cheap Mad Catz and Pelican controllers I've tried.
This controller is wider than Controller S. The size of Microsoft's Controller S fits my hands perfectly and I wear U.S. size large gloves. Initially, I felt that I had to stretch my fingers to reach the Logitech's left analog stick and the buttons on the right, but after playing a while I got used to it. The feel is definitely different between Controller S and the Logitech. I could not keep my left thumb on top of the left analog stick when moving the stick to the upper, lower, and right extremes. On the Controller S, I can comfortably keep my thumb on the analog stick at all times.
The two trigger buttons also seem to have dead spots at the initial travel points. When I played Colin McRae '04, the first 1mm or so of travel for the triggers didn't seem to do anything. Whereas a slight tap on the Controller S triggers resulted in immediate response.
I definitely favor the Microsoft Controller S over the Logitech. I bought the Logitech for multi-player action. I wouldn't mind using it once in a while playing with friends. The Logitech is a very good quality controller for half the price of Controller S.
4 Sweet.....
The Logitech Precision Controller is very well designed. The analog sticks have a great range of motion and feel much more accurate that the Controller S. The analog sticks also "click" down much better when the stick is tilted, unreal tournament players will notice this instantly, as the jump funtion in that game is maped to the analog stick. The buttons feel right and are well suited to games that require quick response. The black & white buttons in particular have a nice rubber feel to them and are better placed than any Xbox controller on the market. Logitech products are first rate and this conrtoller is no exception. It is a worthwhile investment. You might also consider the wireless version which is just as well constructed and has the same response time.
5 Very nice 3rd party controller
I had heard good things about the cordless version of this controller, but I didn't want to spend the money on the cordless version and a cordless headset for Xbox Live.
This controller is very confortable, and is a good blend of the controller-S and the "Duke". My only complaint is that the D-pad is a little too sensitive, and you'll end up pressing down or up when you just mean to press left or right. D-pad controls are pretty rare anymore, though, except in fighting games.
Overall, I'm very happy with this controller, especially for the price, and I prefer it over the controller-S.
6 Best Xbox controller hands down...
If the controller S is too small for your liking, and the original (the Duke) is too large and ungainly, try this one out. It is perfectly sized for the hands of a medium to large sized American male. Some might not like the fact that the analog sticks are a little bit loose, but I love it. The triggers are large and well sculpted, and there are grooves for your middle fingers that provide a tight and comfortable grip. This is the only contoller I use anymore. I have two extra still in the packaging so I'll never run out. Asthetically, it is the coolest looking Xbox controller as well.
