1 I have these speakers and I LOVE them
A little while ago I was viewing some video clips on NBC and when the first one came on, it just about blew me away. It sounded just like I was in a movie theater. (Maybe because I usually keep the volume on the low side so I don't disturb my neighbors). The sub woofer is awesome in my opinion. To look at these little speakers, one would never ever suspect they could possibly produce such a quality sound. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone.
2 Thud, thud, thud...Ugh!!
After reading 1000's of reviews on Amazon, I've never been compelled to write one myself - until now. Simply put, these speakers are terrible. I've had them for about a week now and they're definitely going back.
Where to begin...Well, as my title suggests, the bass produces more of a thud sound than anything else. They're neither smooth nor in any way accurate, just thud, thud, thud. I tried various sub-woofer placements, EQ tweaks, and sub-woofer volume modulations. They're incapable of any sort of warmth or presence at all.
For the record, I've owned an Altec Lansing 3.0 set up for about 4 years on my home computer - I believe the model# is 45.2. I can't believe how much better those speakers sound than these Logi-craps. In contrast to the smooth, transparent crossover with the A/L's, these LogiTechs are all high AND low, there's such huge lack of mid-range - I'm astonished.
I even tried taking off the little grilles in an attempt to coax a little more improvement - nothing.
Lastly, the on/off light is THAT bad - like a little laser beam to the eye.
Please do yourself a favor and keep on shopping.
3 Outstanding for the price!
I just bought a new computer and was disappointed with the terrible quality speakers they came with. I have never purchased computer speakers before, so I did alot of research because I wanted to get quality speakers without having to spend a ton of money. Well I came across these, and they fit right into my budget. I hooked them up to my new computer and WOW. These are amazing. I honestly was not expecting such an incredible sound to come out of these small things.
The subwoofer is great. I have never owned a subwoofer before and I was a little surprised at how large it is. There is definitely plenty of bass, the nob isn't even at halfway.
The setup was a breeze. It took me about 10 minutes. Anyone can do it! The little blue light isn't as annoying as everyone says it is. If you don't like it, stick a piece of tape over it! Simple. I love the fact that there is a headphone jack in the front speaker.. this makes my life alot easier.
Overall, these speakers were a great, small investment and I'm glad I chose Logitech!
4 they're mediocre
I've had these speakers for quite a while and all I can say is you get what you pay for. The sub on these speakers are to muddy and bassy. Plus a little annoying. The satellites are weak. They only have a mid-range driver so the treble is pretty awful on these. The sound overall sounds greatly distorted when playing music and etc. Honestly I think your better off with speakers from creative or altec. My little brother got some speakers from creative in the same price range and those speakers are much more better balanced compared to the logitechs and on top of that they're 4.1. Another bonus about the creatives my brother bought is that it comes with a nice little control pod that you usually only see in the higher end speakers. All in all the logitechs sound quality is pretty poor compared to other speakers. It would be best to just save up for something better, buy from another company or even better just stick with headphones.

6 Works fairly well with lousy card
Overall, these speakers are quality for ok price. I have AC97 integrated audio, and they sound decent. I'd recommend a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card with these, because it has such great reviews and should work well with the system. Logitech is only starting out with the speaker business, as it's a keyboard and mice company, but these still edge out the competition.
So-- buy these if you don't have the space for surround sound or the money for Klipsch's.
7 Mediocre speakers, but not many other choices
Okay, I don't own this system, but I have heard it several times and have a good basis for comparison. Now I have some Altec Lansing Speakers, the AVS300s, that I like, but the bass from the 5.25 inch 10 watt subwoofer is just a tad to weak, esspetially after getting a new 150watt RMS 12" in my car. :)
Anyways, my Mom's computer needs new speakers, and I am either going to get her new speakers, or get myself new ones and give her my old AVS300s, which would be perfect for her. Now these are normally $40-$50 speakers, but I got them for $20, so it's hard finding something compareable, but I'm looking.
Okay, so I'm looking around at $30-$50 2.1 systems, and I see these sleek little speakers at Best Buy. So emidately walk over to the display and start messing with them. They were okay, not great, and here's why:
Pros:
-Subwoofer an improvement over my smaller and less powered sub.
-The Subwoofer good sound quality and fairly deep, strong bass for what it is
-headphone jack
Cons:
-Sattilites do not sound good. My Altec Lansings give a nice, clean sound and has good highs and mids. The Logitechs sound like a cheap 2 piece system with a good subwoofer. Not surprizing since Altec Lansing has much more speaker making experience
-Sattilite speakers ugly
-Blue LED power light very annoying, even in bright ol' Best Buy!!
All in all, if you really need computer speakers, you can find these for a good price, and or don't mind the lower sound quality, then by all means, they will work for you. As for me, I will continue to look for a better alternative. Mabye I'll have a larger Buget and can ket the Klipsch 2.1 system.
8 Great speakers!
I bought these speakers when my old ones died out and i am glad my old ones did! I have a very bad soundcard(soundblaster pci) and the speakers still make awesome quality sounds! Just because these speakers I am going to purchase a new soundcard so it sounds better. I currently run my speakers on 1/4 sound and that is enough to make a lot of noise! These speakers are awesome buy them!!!!
9 ONE SPEAKER STOPPED WORKING
They are great for the price. Loved them until one of the small speakers went out.
10 Value for money!
My family purchased a computer mid-2002, and were happy with everything but the sound quality. We went out and bought these Logitech speakers, and were blown away at what we got for the money paid.
Music plays with better sound than on our CD player, games are clear and eciting, and the logitech speakers are small and compact. The sub-woofer is great for bass, especially when playing music.
Good speakers, great price!
11 Superb speakers from Logitech
Logitech has made quality keyboards and mice for many years. They certainly didn't leave their reputation for quality behind when they made these speakers. The sound these things produce is awesome. I shopped around extensively for new 2.1 computer speakers, and couldn't find anything that sounded as good as the Logitech's in this price range. Sure, you can go out and spend over a hundred bucks on a set of Klipsch's, but for the amount I use my computer speakers, that wasn't worth it. The bass is extremely powerful, and comes across full and rich. I have found the satellite speakers to be able to play mid and high ranges very well, after a little tweaking of the mixer on my computer. The power light is a little harsh on the eyes, but that's the only thing I can complain about. The volume knob didn't turn very well at first, but after a little while it started working fine. The fact that the satellite speakers are wall-mountable is nice if you want to erase a little clutter from your desk. All in all, I fell in love with these speakers the first time I listened to them, and haven't been disappointed at all with them listening to classical music, rock music, and with gaming. They are truly worth purchasing!
12 You get what you pay for.
One can not expect too much for the price. These aren't home theater speakers. They are small computer speakers. The sound is muddy. The woofer looks nice. The satellites look like little creatures from a bad movie. The blue light on the right one is nothing less than eye searing. They don't sound too bad with a bit of tweeking. If you want real good sound, expect to pay at least twice the price. With that all said, not a bad deal.
13 Great Boom for Your Buck!
I must admit I was a little skeptical about these being made by Logitech (who are hardly known as the speaker experts) but I am really impressed by these speakers and subwoofer. They are great if you need a budget multimedia system because the price is right, and the performance is more than adequate. I like the small footprint of the speakers because I don't have a great deal of room. The subwoofer is pretty huge and offers oodles of bass if you want it. The power, volume control, and headphone jack on the speaker itself is a great bonus, as is the funky bright blue light! The sound quality is perfectly acceptable for the price, too.
14 Just OK
These speakers are very good ...pair of speakers. Huge plus is the built in headphone jack in the speaker. (Tip: if you don't have a headphone jack, just go to Radio Shack and by a Y-adapter so both the speakers and the headphones are plugged into the one sound card. They're both always on, but just turn the speaker volume down/off.)
Not sure why people love these speakers. Creative has a pair that sounds a little better in my opinion (but no headphone jack). Yes these speakers are loud and yes the bass vibrates the walls, but I need solid mid ranges to enjoy music and these tiny speakers have a very tiny sound. Luckily MP3 players have equalizers and other sound 'adjusters' that allow you to compensate, but that gets old fast when your play list bounces between Rap, Techno and Rock and you have to adjust the EQ every time the type of song changes.
15 Logitech Z340
While I would rather have a 5.1 speaker set, I don't have the room or the budget. I knew the last speakers that I had weren't great, but I didn't think they were THAT bad. Turns out they were horrible. I love the logitech speakers. My music sounds so much better now it is unbelievable. I highly recommend this product.
16 This is a great sound system.
The Logitech Series of speakers give one great/or better sound for less money then than the competition. The can even be wall mounted to same space!

18 A Huge Improvement
Before I bought my Logitechs I had never had a speaker system with subwoofers. I had these JBL pro ones that came with my monitor. When I broke them changing rooms at college, I decided to go a little better than what I had before (but on a budget). I got these speakers and I have to say I am thrilled. The bass is absolutely amazing and fills the room at about 60% of top level, and though the mid range is a little bit hidden behind great highs and super bass, it's absolutely fixable by a little adjustment on the equalizer of Winamp or WMP or whatever your music player is. These speakers are a great, great buy. I absolutely recommend them.
19 These are great
Wow! That is all that needs to be said about these great and affordable speakers. I used to have a set of creative labs 5.1 surround speakers but they [gave] out on me. So I went and listened to these and boy are they good. They easily outperform many of the more expensive speakers out there. If you are looking for high performance speakers with a not so high price tag, look no further than these, they will not dissapoint.
20 Logitech Speakers Rock!
I bought these speakers after my old ones died. I don't have room for 4-5 speakers in my work space, but these do great and the size is perfect for my desktop!
21 Exceeded my expectations
I expected these speakers to be decent sounding for the price. When I hooked them up and took a listen, I was pleasantly surprised. The two small speakers sounded fine, they weren't what I would call spectacular but my music was crisp and clear so I can't complain. The subwoofer was what really blew me away. I actually had to turn it down because I was worried my neighbors in the apartment above me would complain. The bass is tight and powerful. These speakers also sound great when playing PC games. The only thing I would change is the volume control knob on the sub. It's on the back and it would be more convenient if it were on the front. All in all though you will definitely get your money's worth if you purchase these speakers.
22 Great bang for your buck
I was in the market for a decent 2.1 system with a headphone jack so my choices were kinda limited. Luckily, I ran across these speakers at my local bestbuy, and with a low price tag!! How can you go wrong I thought, but it turns out they forgot to take off the sale tags from black friday. Since it was their fault, they had to sell it to me for that price. Anyways, on to the review....For the money (even retail price), you cannot beat this set. Quality is top notch and it looks good too. The sub sounds awesome with deep, tight and powerful bass but the sats are a little bit disappointing. As a previous reviewer stated, since the sats consist of only a woofer and no tweeter, the sound is a little bit hallow. But don't let that deter you from buying it, it is still a great system with an even greater price. Trust me, you'll enjoy it.
23 GREAT speakers for the price!
It took a bit of tweaking to get the bass where I like it, but for the price these speakers can not be beat. My only complaint is the laser like blue LED on the small speaker. It's way to bright. I fixed that with a bit of scotch tape to defuse the light.
24 Good deal, good sound
We were looking around and stumbled upon these at best buy for 24.95 after mail in rebate. We were expecting ok sound, but were pleasantly suprised when they sounded great and even had some extra features. Like silver stands with rubber feet on the sat's, the cool blue indicator light, and it sounded pretty loud for the power rating too. The wires connecting the two sat's would be difficult to lengthen because they are permanently attached, but it was fine for my setup.
25 they sounded good but...
OK...I bought these at best buy and I got home set them up and they sounded great. Then the next morning came and I went to put in my headphones into the jack on the right speaker, but it would go in all the way! Then I noticed that there was no sound coming from the left speaker. Now i don't know if i had that one out of a million speaker set that had defects...all i can say is that im pretty ticked.
26 Great Speakers for a Great Price
I needed to get new computer speakers for my laptop, so i decided to buy a 3 piece set. At first i was looking at the Boston Acoustics, which i have for my desktop, but later decided on going for a change. I went to the nearest computer store to check out the speaker systems i had in mind. From the ones i saw, logitech definitely stood out the most. The Subwoofer is an amazing 20watts, with 6.5 watts sat. speakers, giving a total of 33 watts. I was truly impressed by the performance. The sound was clear and strong. Even the speakers looked amazing. Even though they may not look all that great from the pics, they actually are sharp looking. There's even this cool blue power indication light on the sat speaker. I highly recommend these speakers. ...
27 Wow..really powerful
I visited frys yesterday and they had these speakers on display..i wanted to buy them immediately, but they had none in stock. it has really powerful adjustable bass..it makes my desk shake! and it is really clear and distortion free. Even has a headphone jack..just what i was looking for.it's hard to find a powerful system with a headphone jack these days. ...
28 Logitech speakers are awesome
I got these speakers for Father's day and they are awesome. They have a lot of bass and the volume of the bass is adjustable along with a volume to adjust all three speakers at the same time. I highly recommend them. I don't see how anything could be better for twice the money.
29 Good Budget Speakers (emphasis on "Budget")
For the price, it is difficult to beat this set of speakers. Sure, Logitech is an unlikely contestant in this arena, but it easily beats any others near this set's low price. Right off the bat, you will notice that there is a power button, volume control knob and headphone jack on the right speaker. Some speakers in this price range inconveniently put the volume control and power button on the subwoofer (which is supposed to be placed out of sight and reach) and most lack a headphone jack. Incidentally, plugging in headphones automatically mutes the speakers - nice.
That said, the sound quality, although better than similar-priced competitors, does have very significant shortcomings compared to speakers costing just a few dollars more. Most noticeably, the satellite speakers utilize a single cone each - thus the treble is slightly rolled off, giving a slightly "hollow" sound compared to systems which boast a seperate tweeter and midrange. Similarly, the bass unit, although impressive in its ability to pump out loud volumes, is also rolled off - the rating of 35Hz is too optimistic. My measurements show a more realistic rating of 50Hz, even after putting the subwoofer in a corner which should result in the most reinforcement of low frequencies. The subwoofer cabinet is made of wood, so what bass it does produce is tight and clean.
If you can afford it, doubling your budget can buy satellites with seperate mid-range and tweeter drivers that will give significantly better sound. But for the penny-pincher, look no further.
30 Good Features & Great Value
Easy setup, great features (volume, power & headphone jack on right satellite speaker)and good sound for the money. Gaming sound will definately get your attention if you use these.
31 Beter Stereo Speakers Ive ever used
For the price you pay they sound like if they cost 3 times more. The sub has power to sell and the satelites sound grate. If I whent back I would buy them again with no dought.
32 Top-notch sound
I've been using another set of speakers (sans subwoofer) for several years, and they finally went to that big electronic graveyard in the sky. I replaced them with the Logitech Z340 3-Piece speakers, and am completely amazed by the sound quality, even at low volumes. I have them set up in my office at work (it's a small office), and I can get my desk shaking with the subwoofer and still not disturb my coworkers (much).
The speakers are solid and well-manufactured, like all of the logitech products I've used, and I highly recommend them.
