1 actual review
Perhaps the 2 most recent reviews that attempt to discredit the prior ones should understand that what they are reviewing is the book, not the reviews. I read this book in 2000 and found it very helpful. I recently (5/2002) ordered 20 copies for use in training new Loan Officers. Everyone that read the book found it to be a very good training piece. I tried to get some of them back for my next training, and couldn't find anyone willing to part with it. Therefore, I am about to order 20 more.
2 Nothing like being obvious, huh?
I'm inclined to agree with the Reader From Atlanta...when I see five or more reviews, with similar dates that all seem to gush with very similar generic enthusiasms, "Please, someone pinch me, this book is so Wonderful", the gauge on my b.s. meter starts heading for redline.
3 hmmmm
I find the reviews here to be highly quetionable; look at the dates-most of them came in within 4 days of each other. My guess is that the author has some buddies who don't mind helping her out...
4 Highly Reccommended!!
This book was incredible. It covered anything and everything you need to know about the mortgage process. Because there is no specific training out there to educate new loan officers this book is a must read for those entering the profession (although it is not limited to only loan officers). It is also helpful for processors, underwriters, and borrowers as well. Jeaninne Doyle covers all topics seamlessly and also offers tips on possible "deal killers." I highly reccommend this book to anyone needing to learn about the mortgage process.
5 Managing the Mortgage Maze
This book was an easy to read, reference of great knowledge. I use it as a training tool in which I refer my brokers. They find it a comprehensive read, as well as reference material for subjects that they are not that familiar with. Thank you, Jeannine Doyle, for creating this thorough guide, for a complicated subject.
6 Managing the Mortgage Maze A Professional's Guide
What a relief to find a book that takes very complicated material and breaks it down so I can understand it.. It has all the information I need to learn the mortgage business. It helped me tremedously and I think it would be helpful to others, especially people in real estate or people who are providing loans.
7 loan officer from illinois
This book was easy to understand and will be a great training tool in our office
8 managing the mortgage maze
WOW! I have been in real estate for a number of years and after reading this book I finally understand mortgages. I found the book easy to follow and I continue to use it as a reference. We have bought several copies for the new people starting in our office. I also felt it was well worth the price.
9 Finally! A plain-English guide to the world of mortgages!
This is a one-of-a-kind guide to the confusing world of mortgage financing. The author is clearly very experienced and I have found her willing to answer questions through her website. A useful tool for anyone in banking or real estate.
10 Finally, A Training Manual for the Mortgage Industry
I only wish that I had this book when I entered the mortgage industry 18 years ago. This book is a must read for anyone interested in residential real estate financing. It is by far the most comprehensive guide to residential lending that I read. It is required reading for any new loan originator hired in my office. I also reccomend that new realtors buy it. Ms Doyle takes the reader step by step through the loan process and explains all obstacles that the borrower may encounter. It is obvious that her examples are from personal experience. It is extremely helpful in figuring out how to save a difficult deal.
