1 Worst phone EVER!! 0 stars
The battery on this phone works normal for 3 months. After that you have to continually replace this phone. In my 1 year contract I replaced this phone 3 times. The last time I just gave up and borrowed a friends phone. Don't get this phone!!!
2 Battery Replacement Motorola C332 Phone
You can replace the battery in the Motorola C332 phone.
Remove the case front and back, then using a T 6 screwdriver remove the 6 screws holding the inside assembly together, carefully remove the screen and circuit board (all one piece)from the inside assembly. The battery unplugs just like in a cordless phone. Very carefully unplug the battery. The thin piece of plastic on the back of the battery should be used on the new battery. A new battery can be purchased from YescomUSA.com part # BTMOTC332L.
3 Cute phone, low quality
The Motorola C332 was my first phone and lasted about 18 months. I was 17 when I got it, and LOVED the look -- it's adorable and small! Unfortunately, the phone is completely low quality! The ringers were WAY too soft to hear -- I missed so many calls because I couldn't hear it...even when in the same room! Dropped calls became second nature...I would normally be dropped after about 14 minutes of talk time, which was annoying. During conversations, there was also much background noise, which I do not hear with my dad's much more reliable Motorola V60!
Now, the phone is 18 months of age and I will be buying a new phone. The battery lasts a total of 8 minutes now before beeping at me with a low battery warning. Unfortunately, the internal battery cannot be replaced, so I am forced to spend money on a brand new phone. I hope my next phone has louder ringers and doesn't drop my calls!
The phone is easy to use and cute, but there is a reason it was withdrawn from the T-Mobile shelves.
Cute phone, loooow quality. Too bad!
4 Horrible, stay away
You can't replace the battery, and it would be at the first bar after a full charge the first day I got it. It will give you 20 minutes talk, tops, and that's brand new. I finaly gave up and bought a cheap Nokia 3595. What a treat! T-Mobel has been good to me, and only charged me $20.00, with a 1 year contract extension. T-Mobile I recomend anyway. I travel a lot, and found reception even in Puerto Rico, when others did not.
5 bad phone bad server
i wish i could sue motorola AND tmobile for selling this phone and continuing to sell it after countless problems were reported and many phones had to be "replaced" (if that's what you want to call them sending you a refurbished phone that's worse than the first one...and then doing it three more times after that just so they can run your warranty time down) and they're still selling them just to get rid of them. trust me, it's been more of headache than anything, especially when you're on an important call. i'm amazed that they are still getting away with selling a phone for $99.00 when it's not worth the plastic they shoved it in to begin with.
6 so far so good!
i have only had this phone for one day now but i love the ring tones, the animations, the sound quality, and the size of it all!
the only small problem i am somewhat unhappy about it not being able to see the screen in certain lights.
i bought this on amazon used for fifty dollars and it is red so i love that too.
i hope i do not have problems like others here. sad only rating is a one, eeek!
7 The Motorola c332
This is a great product for someone at any age. It works great, it have good ring tones, and its small! It can fit anywhere! I recommend that you get this product.
8 Discontinued for a reason
Thank GOD this phone has been discontinued. When I had it all it caused were problems. Don't even think of changing the faceplates it because after u do then you can't get the darn thing, off not even to check the SIM card. My phone just stopped working after a while, I never received an explanation why tho'. My sister had hers replaced several times & her friend more than two times. The phone that they send you is just a reconditioned phone & even those phone have their own issues.
If possible I would give it zero (0) stars but you know how Amazon is....
9 Listen to everyone else, don't buy this phone.
i along with probably 2-5 of my friends own this phone. it lures you in because it's cute, inexpensive, and works fine for the first month. it begins to hold less and less of a charge. right now mine will only work when it's plugged into the wall, or if charge it and leave it off i can sometimes make a quick emergency phone call if i'm driving or something. i HATE this phone.
10 Good News !!!!!!
Yeh,
The phone is a piece of junk. No lie about it. But, on a good note I called T-Mobile customer service today and told them about my problem, they were courteous enough to exchange my phone for a better new motorola phone. It's either C343 or C353, I forgot, either way it's a new model not offered on T-mobile web site yet with a color screen. Anyways, it is all coming to me in 5 days for free of charge. So if you have this same problem, the phone is under warranty for a year so just call T-Mobile and they'll hook you up like they did for me.
11 THE WORST PHONE EVER
i owned this phones not less than a week ago and when i first brough this phone it was great i downloaded ringtones and everything, after three days of having it it wouldn't hold the charge.so i exchaged it for a better phone. if i was you i wouldn't buy it its trash.
12 PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T EVER BUY THIS PHONE
Please, don't be intimidated by the price, looks, features....whatever you might like in this phone. IT SUCKS!!! It never has enough charge, keeps turning itself off, and doesn't get service. Learn from my mistake, and don't buy it.
13 Worst Phone Ever
I myself do not have this phone. But my cousin did. He told me he was having major problems with it. So me and him traded phones, because we both have T-Mobile. I wanted to see what was up with this phone, this phone will never ever hold a charge. After about 2 minutes into the call it says Low battery. He basically had the same trouble as everyone else. Also to mention, the phone had really bad ringtones.
14 YIIIIICCCCCHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I got my c332, within a week it was powering down at random.
3 times per day minimum. It was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to make
a call from within my apt. I got a new one within 2 weeks.
Same problem. Couldn't talk from within my apt. I was told by
T-Mobile customer care that Motorola has since discontinued
the c332. In short, it's a bad phone. My advice, take the c332
to the rifle range for use as a target and get a samsung r-225.
I got the r-225.
15 I would give it ZERO stars if Amazon let me
I don't know where to start...it's been over a year that I have had this phone, and I am now on phone number three. The first two phones I had were replaced under warranty because of faulty batteries. After about 3-4 months, the battery (which is built in and cannot be replaced) would not hold charge, and a fully charged battery could not go 10 seconds into a call without it showing the low battery warning and beeping at me. Well, third time's a charm, right? Wrong. My third phone just started to have the same problem, only now it's not covered under warranty. I was saddened to see that T-Mobile is still offering this phone, especially after I talked to a Customer Service representative today, and he told me that T-Mobile is aware of the phone's defective nature.
Despite this, there are some good things about this phone:
-It's small
-The rubber grip is nice
-The Vibrate and Ring feature is nice
-It has an alarm
Overall, I would not buy this phone. I got it because Amazon was offering a big rebate for it. I wish I had paid for a good phone.
DON'T BUY THIS PHONE
16 Amen to the WORST PHONE EVER
Same probs as the other reviews. My phone, however, managed to stop ringing after 8 months. So it is eternally on vibrate now, which the battery loves. You do get what you pay for with this junk-monkey. I'd rate it a ZERO if possible.
17 Worst phone in the history of mankind!!!!
I got it because it was one of the cheapest and paid a price for that! This phone has the worst battery life I have ever seen. Also, the keys don't work right after about 8 months. One would be better off spending some more and getting a better phone.
18 Don't buy this phone!
Phone worked great for the first 10 months I had it. Now with a full charge I'm only able to talk for a few seconds before the battery needs to be charged again. Spend a couple extra bucks and get a nice phone that you won't have to replace in less than a year.
19 awesome phone
i'm sad to see so many bad reviews about this phone---i've had it for over a year and it works just fine. the battery is not terrible---in the beginning it would go a week on standby. however, now, fifteen months later, it lasts only three days. however, charging it is not that much of a hassle, so the battery can be overlooked. the phone has only dropped one of my calls in the entire time i've used it. the shape is very cute and the screen is a lovely light blue/white color---for a phone without full color it's quite nice. the vibrate is a lot more subtle than many others, such as the old nokias, and the ring tones are audible in crowds. overall i thought it worked very well for me and i enjoyed using it.
20 YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU BY THIS PHONE
I had this phone for hardly year and i wish i had never gotten it, I have nothing agaisnt motorola but they really screwed this one up! When i first got this phone i loved it, it worked perfect but as time went by... WOW was i wrong! im very honest, i call on this phone for about um i guess like 10 secs and it starts to beep saying the battery is low. It doesnt matter if i charge it for 3 days or 3 mins it still does it. And, boy the reciption, you dont even want me to get started on that, but since this is the risk of you buying possibly the worst phone ever, i should tell you.. IT WORKS NOWHERE!!! it doesnt work in my school, 99.9% of all my friends houses, but lucky, the one place it works, my house. you might think this review is just a bunch of whoeey (hehehe i said whoeey) but its not, i just want to help you. : )
21 Not so good......
Battery life sucks... I will charge it for hours and after 5 mins of talk time, the bar will go down to 1. Battery can't be replaced! This phone sucks... So does the Motorola V66... I suggest you buy a Nokia 3595 or Samsung R225 (Most dependable phones i've ever used)
22 What have I done to deserve this?
I got this phone last year as part of a family plan with a two-year contract. At the time, there were no reviews about the phone's features and dependability; because it was a Motorola I took a chance on the phone.
At first the phone was great: it was sleek and compact. But after a week I started noticing the problems with this phone. First of all, the antenna is small (embedded in the battery) and since my service provider reception is already bad in my area, it does not work in my home. I have to go outside and walk a few houses down to get one or two bars. Secondly, the battery life is horrible and inconsistent. Sometimes it will last the whole day and sometimes will run out of power after one phone call (even after it's been charging the whole night). I've had so many aggravations with this phone that I often fantasize about running over it with my car. I should never have gotten this phone and advise you to do the same.
23 DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE
Although I am a HUGE fan of Motorola, I'm surprised that they haven't taken this phone off the shelf. I agree with other customers who purchased this phone. The life span of the battery is not very long, and THE BATTERY IS NOT REPLACEABLE. After speaking with a customer service representative, I was told that Motorola considers this a 'disposable' phone. Huh??? From the Startac to the V-series, Moto has done a GREAT job. Buy a different phone from Motorola, just not this one.
24 This phone sucks!
I have had this phone for about a year. I have had to replace it twice. The battery goes out and since there is no removeable/replaceable battery you must replace the whole phone.
25 SUCKS
This phone is terrible. I after using this device I don't even the phones are test for quality. The battery life is horrible. After about 2 months it wouldn't keep its charge. I have been threw 2 replacements. After the 3 phone I just brought a new one.
26 I can't believe this phone is still on the market.
This is hands down the worst phone I have ever owned, and I have owned 3 of them. It all started when I bought one for my wife and myself last Christmas. Amazon was running a rebate that paid me one hundred dollars per phone to buy it. Paying me to take the phone; How could I resist, right? From the beginning, neither phone would hold a charge for any length of time, and yes, I did follow the recommended instructions for letting the battery die completely before recharging. The odd thing is that it isn't consistent about the length of time that it will hold a charge. Sometimes it will last almost all day and other times it beeps low battery after one 2 minute call, but never a whole day. Sometimes I pull it off the charger without making any calls and it beeps low battery by the time I get to work. My wife's phone has the same problem. After about seven months or so mine quit working and I had to call and get a replacement. I complained about the battery life and was told by the rep that there was a known defect with the software in the phone and that it was not the battery itself. He gave me a "trick" to try that supposedly solved the problem for about a month or two, but had to be repeated every so often. Basically it involved opening up the phone and turning off and back on again the internal power switch. It was supposed to reboot the software (did Microsoft make the software?) This "trick" turned out not to improve the phones battery performance at all. Anyway, he sent me a new phone, as my original one ceased functioning, and of course it had the same battery problem and the "trick" still didn't work. Another thing, the battery is sealed internally and not replaceable to my knowledge. My question is this: why would Motorola keep this phone on the market with a known defect? I often received compliments on the size and shape of the phone, but I had nothing nice to say about it other than it was cute. I hope you look over this model when making your new phone purchase. When I recently traded our phones for the Nokia 3595 (of which I have been very pleased so far) the salesman asked which phone we currently had. When we showed him our Motorola C332s, he rolled his eyes and laughed and said that he understood why we wanted a new phone. Oh, and my two year old son loves his two new Motorola C332 phones to play with.
27 wow.
wow. i purchased this phone about a year ago. Never has an electric device caused me so much distress in all my life. First, after about 3 months and a couple drops on the ground, it broke, so i had to send in for a new one. The new one has been the bane of my existence ever since it arrived at my doorstep. The screen acts like it is possessed by demons. Nearly every time i turn on my phone and try to access messages or do almost anything else, the images on the screen either flip upside down, start strobing, or go completely blank . This can get fairly annoying when you're trying to recieve an urgent text message. On the overall quality, the phone is slow, is now archaic, and should not be bought by anyone. ever again. simple as that. i just wanted to vent.
28 Piece of GARBAGE
I advise anyone that has this phone to GET RID OF IT IMMEDIATELY. Motorola is well aware of the manufacturer problems with this phone: no charging, poor connections, lost calls, shutting off when you don't want it to, doesn't hold a charge if you can get the charger to CHARGE.
I had FOUR handsets before TMobile offered me a free upgrade, to a much better piece of equipment.
DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!!!!!
29 Awful, awful, awful!!!
This phone is horrible. It rings very low, sounds horrible. The battery is the worst. I spent more of my day charging it then anything else. I sent it for repair and ended up with the same problems. Do not buy!!!
30 Just Say NO!!
This phone is so bad that it does not even deserve one star. I've had it for a year, and while at first I loved it very much, now I am just sick and tired of it. This phone is constantly on my charger. I make like three phone calls and my battery dies. And whenever i'm on the phone for like more than 30 mins the phone starts to get warm, it is so weird. But anyways, don't buy this phone. It is so not worth the penny that it is going for.
31 Battery DOA
I've had this phone for about a year now and I'm ready to throw it through the window. Like the other reviews have noted, the battery life on this phone is HORRIBLE. Charged it for 3 days from an AC charger. The battery lasted about 4 hours, on standby. I like how the phone looks and how it responds while online (using T-Mobile's TZones) but even then, I can't use the services for long because of the battery life. The phone and ringer volume are both so quiet, you have to be sitting in silence to hear either.
I guess my final thoughts are DON'T BUY THIS PHONE.
32 I even work for Motorola and I hated this phone
I did not have any issues with the battery as everyone else did. I had a horrible time with the volume quality of the phone. Although I know it is not the safest thing to use while driving I could not hear anything on the road. I could not hear anything in public. Even at home. I also lost the function of a lite up screen. There is no volume control, and sometimes the phone pad sticks. Nothing good to talk about.
33 I agree with everyone else
This phone sucks. Horrible reception and the battery does not last long at all. T-Mobile replaced it 3 times, and I've given up... After my contract expires, I'm gonna switch to a Samsung phone. (my another family member has Samsung S105 and it works very fine.)
34 IT SUCKS !!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE, I HAVE HAD IT FOR LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AND MY PHONE COMPANY HAS ALREADY REPLACED IT 3 TIMES AND ALWAYS BECAUSE THE BATTERY FAILS, THAT FIGURES....
35 Disgrace to Motorola as communications leader
I am a major fan of motorola products. But after having used this phone for an year, I am looking at everything but motorola.
It looks good, small and cute. If your boss is trying to call you for status report, u can safely balme it on the cell not having signal strength.
The key pad does not respond once in a while. The phone gets stuck like Microsoft Windows. The only option you have is restsart the phone.
DONT BUY THIS EVEN BY MISTAKE.
36 This Phone Sucks
I loved the Motorola C332. It was small, fit into my pocket, had all of the important essentials...
Yeah, there is a reason that I "loved" it. I've had to replace it now twice. This time with a different phone. The battery is horrible. It won't charge completely, and if it does... it might, and I use "might" very freely here, last half the day.
This phone is a waste of your time and money. Find something that works. Even if it's not so cute.
37 Horrible Phone
Please, do not get this phone. The ring is very soft, I often miss my phone calls, and the battery is HORRIBLE. It doesn't even last more than half a day just on standby. If you actually talk on the phone, you probably need to recharge it constantly. I didn't think it will be such a problem at the beginning, but recently it gets worse and worse. So, please do yourself a favor, DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
38 Go for practicality!
I get a lot of comments on how "cute" my phone is, and most people can't believe that it's actually a phone. However, I didn't buy the phone just for its cuteness. The internal battery is a hassle. If you leave it off of the charger for longer than a day, you'll have to recharge it overnight. This isn't a problem, but I'm always afraid that if I carry my phone around, the next time I try to use it, it will be dead. Of course, because the battery is internal, I can't buy a new battery for the phone. The music-like ring tones, while they are much better than a normal cell phone's ring, are VERY quiet. Most of the time I can't tell that my cell phone is actually ringing. Don't buy this phone! Unless you want quiet ringers, and a "cute" phone, look for something more practical.
39 Not a wise buy
Most cell phones have the capablities to switch batteries for any reasons. Although this phone has a very cute look, the battery of this phone is itself. Once the battery is dead, your phone is dead.
40 Great inexpesive phone
This is my second phone, having replaced my Nokia 5190. The Nokia was a great phone with many miles on it, but it finally died. As a replacement, this phone is right up my alley - much smaller than the Nokia (just a bit bigger than a business card), phone functions without a bunch of frills I won't use, and the price is right (can't beat cash back!). Highly recommended!
41 do not buy this thing
I received this phone because I switched my currect plan and they offered a free phone. I had this phone for 3 months before I decided that I would rather just use my 36 months of discount for being with tmobile to get something new. This phone has the worst battery life of any phone I have ever used roughly 8 hours of LIGHT usage. Also this phone is whisper quiet. I would never here the thing ring. If you actually do want this terrible phone go bid on mine it going to be on ebay. BTW They sent me a Nokia 3595 for my discount period. VERY NICE PHONE.
42 Super poor battery
Mine is 3 months old, and our 3th phone in the family, also the newest. Unfortunately, the battery is unaceptable. You have to charge it every 8 hours, or it simply looses it's charge. I can live with evrything else, it's a bit quiet and hard to use, but do not get this one. Get a inexpenive Nokia, and you will be happy. This is in refference to the gray model.
43 awfull batery
Small phone, but battery doesn't cut the mustard. Needs daily charging with even only a couple short calls during the day.
Stay away. Don't buy this phone.
I can't wait til my contract expires.
