Motorola i60c Phone (Nextel)

1 A good, utilitarian phone...
For those who just want a phone without the hassle of tons of options, it's a good phone. I've had the phone for almost two years, and I've never had a problem with it. It's fairly rugged, dependable, and an ok battery life.

Only problems: shorter battery life, monochrome display, no external display, and cannot be opperated while closed.
2 Complete Crap
I've had this phone for over a year now. I don't make or receive many calls, but when I do it's a crap shoot. The phone will chirp and shut off for no good reason. It said the battery was low and shut off when it was almost a full charge.

I have had to pop the battery out to reset the phone several times just to get it to work. One time it locked-up and wouldn't even shut off without removing the battery.

I have had no problems with the push-to-talk feature.

My husband has this same phone and has no problems, so it's entirely possible I have a lemon of a phone.

I would never recommend this phone to anyone.
3 A great quality, but very outdated
This was a fantastic phone 3 years ago, and while it still has that high level of quality that makes Motorola so great, it is very outdated at this point. Without a color screen, a camera, a calculator or calander, this phone isn't good for much more beyond calling people. It has a strong signal with great audio quality, but it doesn't even have any games (oh no!) So while I wouldn't be too hasty to get rid of this phone if it still serves you well, I also wouldn't run out and buy this phone new.
4 i60c good if it was 1997
The Nextel service itself appears to be good if not better than other providers this review is for the phone itself. This is important seeing this is what you will be using from day to day.

The Moto i60c is a very bulky phone by 2001 standards. Typical flip phones are smaller and offer much more options than this. The display is rather dark; there is no outside display you have to open it to see who's calling thus meaning you have to disable auto answer. There is an extremely limited feature set on this phone. Some reviewers said that the battery life was good they're either working for Moto or never use the phone.

The battery life is terrible, the phone sat in my desk all weekend, a full charge Friday at 5PM and it was dead by Monday morning, never used or received any calls. This phone might be good if this was 1997 but its 2004 and technology is there for a smaller lower costing phone with better battery life and more options.

5 Never had a problem
I have had my i60 phone for almost 2 years. I have had no problems what so ever with it. The only thing I would like it to have is more options to customize it. Other than that it is perfect.
6 Bad internal speaker
I am having speaker problems with this phone.... so much that I am thinking of trashing it. The internal speaker does not get activated most of the times when you make a call... and once in a while you can switch on the speaker-phone speaker. The same goes for receiving calls.

Looking at a cheap, no frills, no problem phone for Nextel service..... Suggestions welcome.

7 Simply Sucks
I have owned a Nextel i60c for about 5mns. I hate it and i wouldn't recommend this phone to anybody. I think the little cheap nokia phones work way better and are much more attactive! The phone hardly ever gets reception, it's hard to have a convo when driving down the road...the phone hangs up when there is no reception.....it just sucks...and thats my thoughts on that!
8 A great nextel phone!
I am very happy to have this phone, and completely satisfied with it't perfomance. It is not my first cell phone, but is my first Nextel. It does all that I hoped it would do.
9 it serves its purpose well
It does what a cell phone needs to do. It has the essentials.

But that's all it has. If you want some serious gadgetry with serious polyphonic ringtone-ness, and all that good stuff. If you want to be able to have more options while customizing, if you want all the little screensavers and pictures and games and ringtones, i would suggest going with an i90c, but the i60c works just fine, it's a no nonsense phone.

10 Good, for a cheaper flip phone.
Yeah, Its a good phone, haven't had any problems with it. Except, I wouldn't buy it from Amazon...Go to www.buy.com, I got the phone for free with the nextel plan.

I would recomend this phone, but I just wish it had a better inteface, not very attractive...kind looks like my first cell phone.

11 Practical users only
I have owned this phone for nearly 6 months now and of course have Nextel as my service provider. The phone does have its flaws, but I'm not going to say I wouldn't recommend the phone to anyone who wanted a reliable-simple-no-frills cell phone. I have noticed the phone does have some serious issues when its talk time has exceeded 15-30 minutes or the battery has dropped to half-life, during this time the phone does develop an echo and sometimes drops the calls. But if you limit your amount of talk time and keep the battery charged, it will work fine. If you subscribe to Nextel and have the all incoming calls free plan, then this is not the phone for you (because you'll probably talk longer than with a cell contract that charges for incoming calls). I will say though if you only talk on a cell phone in limited doeses, don't mind a little expected flaws like echo and really don't have a need for a phone that does everything but take out the trash...the i60c is a good choice, but if you aren't that type of user...well keep shopping
12 Great phone
Although the i60 does not have a screen on the front to see who is calling, this is a great phone. I have had no problems with it, and get great reception. The battery lasts for days. Nextel offers nationwide direct connect and most of their plans offer free nights and weekends which is great. I have been with Nextel for almost 3 years and I have not encountered any problems with their service or their phones. I would definately recommend this phone.
13 Terrible, Just Terrible.
This phone is terrible. I don't have one personally, but use a friends quite often. It has terrible reception, often has an echo, and cut's off calls all the time. It doesn't do anything special, and the things it does do often don't work correctly anyway. My friend is very unhappy with it, and whenever I use it, I can't wait to get off. Don't buy it.
14 Buy it for half this price!!
Available at Staples for $99.00. This is a total ripoff on a phone that works about as well as all the rest that Nextel offers!
15 Good phone, gives you the basics
I would prefer a screen on the front of the phone so I can see who is calling, and different rings would be nice, but otherwise this is a good phone. It is perfect for business (which is what I use it for). The push-to-talk feature is fantastic, but that is more a credit to Nextel.

The reception on this phone is very good, better than my personal phone. And the battery life on this phone lasts for days.

The menus are easy to navigate and it does not take long to learn how to use this phone.

For business, I would highly recommend this phone.

16 Nextel i60
Great phone, very light and easy to navigate. I just got this phone and I thought it would be like the nextel i90, I was wrong. You get no LCD screen in the front of the phone, you get limited ring styles and ect.. Overall great phone if not compared to nextels i90 or i95.
