NEC MultiSync LCD1935NXM 19" LCD Monitor

The MultiSync monitor Series is designed for value-driven consumers who seek high-quality display performance and reliability.
The NEC LCD1935NXM is an extraordinary display for demanding users who need a large screen at a reasonable price. It offers 19 diagonal inches of real estate, a native SXGA (1,280 x 1,024) resolution with 0.294-millimeter dot pitch, convenient tilting, and easy wall mounting. The image is bright and clear with high contrast.

Setting up the LCD1935NXM was easy. We plugged in the power supply, connected the monitor to our PC's video card, attached the audio cable, and followed the simple setup sheet to adjust monitor settings and to set our computer to 1,280 x 1,024 mode. Total setup time was less than five minutes. For wall mounting, you can tilt the monitor all the way back (parallel to the base) and then affix the base to a VESA-compliant bracket (not included). Note that the base does not detach.

In our tests, the LCD1935NXM's image quality was quite remarkable. The horizontal viewing angle is rated at only 130 degrees, but the display dimmed only slightly as we rotated the unit away from straight-on. A modest rippling effect was noticeable at extreme vertical angles but not in normal viewing positions. Colors were vivid, text was sharp, and photographs exhibited excellent subtlety. The monitor remained bright and clear in a variety of lighting conditions (rated at 250 cd per square meter), and the anti-glare surface performed well even when placed near a window.

Scaling and smoothing at lower resolutions was only fair, but because you'll likely keep the monitor in its native resolution mode, this isn't a serious problem. Full-cycle pixel response time is rated at 16 milliseconds, making the unit well-suited for playing video games and watching DVDs. The monitor accepts analog VGA 15-pin D-sub and DVI-D digital connections, so you'll be ready for either standard or high-end video cards (DVI cable and Mac cable adapter sold separately). The built-in stereo speakers are convenient, though without remarkable sound quality.

Despite the monitor's large size and support for DVI, serious graphics users would likely prefer a model with UXGA (1,600 x 1,200) resolution. Still, compared to other SXGA models in its price category, the LCD1935NXM performs beautifully.

1 Excelent LCD and great price
Not 1 dead pixel, excelent resolution crisp images and no ghost i absolutly recommend this product, but dont forget to buy the DVI cable they make a lot of diference. Not too heavy and nice control panel.
2 Excellent Monitor
I've tried several different monitors and the NEC is by far the best. The color and brightness are excellent and the overall design is very classy. I have yet to find a flaw in this monitor and I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.
3 Very Nice Monitor
I received this monitor for my girlfriends PC. It is a replacement for a 6 year old 21" Hitachi CRT monitor. I first connected with standard VGA cable as I was waiting for the DVI cable and after a little set up, I was quite pleased with the appearance on the screen. The menu controls are kinda funky and takes some getting use to them.

Yesterday, I got the DVI cable and what at difference! The clarity is incredible, the color saturation is very good and the text is very legible.

I was concerned about scan frequency as I normally run CRTs at 85 to 100 hertz to reduce flicker and at the 1280x1024 setting the NEC monitor wanted 60 hertz. So I changed the setting to 60 and it is absolutly flicker free.

Except for the OSD controls, this is an excellent moniter, but once things are set up, there should be no need to use the OSD.
4 Great value 19" monitor
The 1935NXM is a great value 19" monitor. The picture quality is bright and clear. The monitor has 16 msec response time at close to $400 after rebate, a great deal for this screen size. It is also wall mountable! The silver color and blue lighting gives the monitor a modern appearance and looks even better at night. However, some might find the blue lighting on the back of the monitor annoying if sleeping in the same room. The monitor design is very simple, with the bulk of the lcd mounted on a simple base. While common, the design makes the monitor difficult to turn. Also, the features layout is very awkward. The selection menu is configured in a circular layout and one must scroll through either clockwise or counterclockwise to exit, even while simply adjusting brightness or contrast. The menu design is not intuitive and I still have not gotten used to it yet. I prefer to just find acceptable settings and leave it at that. Despite the minor design flaws, the 1935NXM is still a great value 19" monitor.

5 Excellent. Great picture quality good on all apps tested
In the past, I've not been a big fan of LCD monitors. I always felt they were behind the curve compared to old fashioned CRT displays.

NEC changed my mind. Text is sharp and easy to read, video is clean clear. When browsing the web, colors are vibrant and crisp. The on screen menu takes a little getting used to, but you shouldn't have to use it much since the auto-settings are very good.

I've played several online and offline games at various resolutions, all with good results.
6 Great features great price
I got one of these monitors about a month ago. I did a lot looking around for a monitor that had all the features that this has. (DVI, Fast responce time, 16 MS ) Sharp picture no dead pixels. The only problem is when my wife saw it she had to have it to. Guess what? Just ordered another one
on Amazon today. Merry Xmas dear.....
7 16ms Response time, DVI inputs, what more can you ask for?
It arrived with no dead pixels, the screen is just stunning. It was so bright that I had to tone down the brightness. Compared to the 14.1" screen on my Dell laptop, there it was just so unbelievable. Now the laptop is going on ebay.

The "Function" and "Select" buttons are located on the stand and is beautiful, this is the first LCD that I've seen that incorporates the Ipod touchpad style fuction and select buttons that light up blue. The large "NEC" logo also lights up blue which is amazing. It has a thin bezel so those who want dual LCD's can use it. The speakers on this however was pointless but since most people don't even use speakers on LCD's, I didn't think it would matter. The most amazing this is how clear and precise this screen is, I have it hooked up through DVI and its just beautiful. Gaming is great too (because of the 16ms response time), no ghosting in UT2004, Max Payne 2 and Wolfenstein. I'm planning to buy another one for dual DVI displaying.

What can I say, DVI and 16ms response time and the "NEC" brand really did it for me.
