The Netgear dual-speed 10/100 Mbps hub connects multiple PCs to share printers, files, Internet access, and e-mail communications. You can mix and match 10 and 100 Mbps PCs, servers, and peripherals with these hubs, without reconfiguring. It is part of the DS100 family by Netgear, which combines multiple capabilities with affordability.
Auto sensing dual-speed ports individually sense and adjust to run at the proper speed for the connection you're using. Each unit has a built-in self-learning bridge, which provides the communications link between the 10 and the 100 Mbps network devices. The intelligent bridge automatically manages network traffic so that 100 Mbps traffic does not unnecessarily crowd the 10 Mbps network segment and vice versa.
The hub is ready to go with easy plug-and-play installation. It's compact and sturdy, and can be wall mounted. The built-in LEDs on the ports provide clear and intuitive status information. Netgear provides a five-year warranty on the hub and a one-year warranty on the power supply. Free 24-hour phone support is also available.

1 great easy hub..but for the price why not buy a switch
For less than $150 you can buy the FS116 switch. For that price difference, if any, you gain a lot more.
If you don't know the difference between a hub and a switch here is a brief summary.
Hub..share 100/10 MBit bandwidth between all 16 ports.
Switch..each connection has its own 100/10 Mbit bandwidth.
For most applications the Hub will work just fine but if you can get more for the same money..why not.
I actually bought and returned this item. At the time the description stated switch and it wasn't a switch. Its a hub.
2 Well, just another nice hub from Netgear
I have use this 16-port hub at two of my business customers offices. It is a great little hub (yes, very small for a 16-port). It has an uplink port, handy for their Internet connection, and it has wall mount holes in the back of it. I like Netgear's stuff, especially for the price point. Highly Recomend this component. Cheap, compact, looks good next to telecom equipment, and effective.
