1 Wonderful Investing Book!
I picked up a copy of this book after reading all the reviews for it, and I must say all the reviewers who gave it five stars are right on the mark. It was informative, and it explained investing concepts in such a way that a novice (like myself) can understand. Also, it got me excited about the possibility that even I can play the stock market, and maybe make a profit like the pros.
2 Good primer in a small package
I purchased this book as part of several I chose to help me get aquainted with the market. I had played around in the market before on a small scale but like most new investors I had little idea what I was doing, and more importantly had no understanding of strategies to help protect myself from catastrophic losses. This book is an excellent primer. I found "How the masters tell us to invest" to be very useful material, along with the numerous pointers to research information available on the Internet. Along with that there are some worksheets included which can aid you to keep track of stocks you like (although I personally prefer to maintain this kind of information in electronic form other than in file folders as the author recommends). This book provides all the information necessary to get you started in the stock market, armed at least with some level of confidence you won't get eaten alive! Well worth the price.
3 Very informative
This book clearly shows new investors every possible detail needed to be successful in the stock market. Hands down the most informative and easy to read book about the stock market.

4 Neat indeed
Appealed by its excellent reviews, I decided to give this book a shot and it did not disappoint. The book reads almost like a novel and before you know it, you're turning the last page and just picked up all the necessary stock market lingo and strategies you need without breaking even a sweat. But what I really like about this book, is that it makes you feel good about stock investing without promising the impossible. It gives a broad overview of different strategies and the author does a nice job summarizing it all and putting a personal touch on it. And if that isn't enough, the author invites readers to send comments and questions, promising to reply. Guess what, I did and Jason e-mailed me back in 3 days!!
Highly recommended!
5 For beginner!
Every one foraying into the field of investing in stocks should start with this book and then go to read "The Four Pillars of Investing".
Also check http://www.techuncovered.com/investing.shtml for investing in ETFs.
6 The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing
An excellent book to learn from! Easy to read, factual, exellent references and great format. Jason Kelly writes in a way that "speaks" to the average person as if you were having a coffe with him. One of the best how-to books in a long time.

7 Great Guide to Build your Portfolio
After reading all of the positive reviews for Jason's book, I decided to give it a try, and I wasn't disappointed. His studies of the master investors and the common factors in their strategies is invaluable. And his historically proven theories on the Dow dividend and "Doubling the Dow" investments have forced me to reconsider my own ideas and reevaluate my portfolio to take advantage of his proven knowledge. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is searching for the factors to a successful venture into the market. It is not only informative, but entertaining and encouraging, as well. This certainly won't be the last of Jason's books that I'll read.
8 Great Book with Easy to Understand Concepts
I bought and read this book over the past two weeks. Since then I have started and invested in the stock market using ideas I learned directly from Jason's book, I call him Jason since I emailed him and he emailed me back within 15 minutes, I almost think of Jason as a friend. During the past two weeks, the stock market has sunk each week, yet I made more on my investments over the past two weeks than I did in my ROTH IRA during the entire year of 2004, when comparing percentages. If you have not invested yourself, or want to get ideas that "Just Make Sense", reading Jason's book is a great idea.
9 A great way to start in the stock market
Before finding this book I had always been interested in the stock market and often wondered what would be a good way to get started. After reading the many good reviews I decided to trust my instinct and buy this book... and I am glad I did. Right from the start the author brings you up to speed on how the masters invest and what they look for. Then you move on to more detailed aspects such as company research, ratios, income statements, etc, etc. In the end all of this is combined together to give you a master plan that will help you make smarter investment decisions. Definitely a must read for beginners.
10 Excellent Read
As a complete novice to Stock Market Investments I found this book to be an invaluable read. All the concepts are explained in plain English and can be understood with only one read through. The author offers understandable and comprehensive examples for any subjects that are tricky to understand.
11 Great for Beginners
I am new to the stock market, and was looking for a good book to help me out. I narrowed it down to The Neatest Guide to Stock Market Investing and I have to say Jason Kelly does a great job explaining concepts and definitions in an easily understandable manner. Recommended.
12 Good Place to Start
I picked up this book in order to learn about the basics of the stock market and also some advice on succesful techniques for investing and it did all this in a very light, easy to read manner. The book gets straight to the point and explains concepts very well. It summarizes techniques of a handful of the best investors ever and it also has other useful techniques recommended by the author. Definitely a good place to start and a lot of people could use this book to ivest, but you may want to do further reading on the subject if you want to get really serious.
13 The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing
Without having any prior knowledge of the stock market, I ventured out and purchased this book. The title of the book sold me. Jason Kelly did a superb job at dissecting the many facets of the stock market to almost an elementary level. I have gone on to read other books and still refer to The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing for definitions.
The book is indeed a manual for the basics (and then some) of the stock market!
14 Neatest Little Guide is quite Neat
Jason Kelly's "The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing" is a comprehensive yet entertaining approach to the art of stock investing. Kelly's extensive knowledge of both stock market history as well as contemporary investment strategies are evident in a book that is both the product of meticulous attention to detail and an honest desire to instruct. Not only that, the book is quite a valuable resource post-reading, as it contains useful charts and stock measing tools. The flow of the book abets fundamental stock market knowledge because it sensibly starts at the beginning and leads the reader right up to today. In order to learn to invest well, one must know how people invested in the past. Yet, amid the vast amount of dry material and historical information Kelly manages to put a lighter, humorous spin on the material that makes it far more enjoyable to read than comparable books about investing. Truely, a valuable item for any beginning investor.
15 As the title suggested....its the neatest guide...
It is the most readable book on the subject ever written. Most investment books I have read, either made me gave up reading or made me gave up interest in investment. This is one of those books that, once I started reading, will make me frustrated to stop. Highly recommended, thus it deserved the five stars! Kudos to the writer of this book.
16 Total Guidance For the Serious Investor
This is truly the best book possible for anyone who wants to handle their own portfolio. I had a hard time putting it down. Jason Kelly gives you all the tools to make it on your own. I have yet to come across anyone who will guide you through the entire process of putting your money to work. The explanations and references are all there. A "little" book with volumes of company/stock information.
17 Excellent Stock Market Investing Book
The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing (1998 edition) was excellent. It was very well written, extremely informative, makes things simple to understand and it gives the reader the motivation to learn more about the stock market and the confidence to invest in it. As a novice investor who wanted to understand and invest in the stock market, I truly appreciated the simplicity in which the book was written. It provides easy to understand definitions, examples, concepts, investing strategies, worksheets and much much more. I highly recommend it!!!
18 Straightforward, fun to read stock market manual
This is the first book I have ever bought about stock market trading, because all of the other ones scared me away with their big talk and wall street jargon. Jason Kelly has finally brought the high powered language of stock trading to a level we can all understand, and in a very entertaining way. I bought this to learn about stocks, and in a lot of ways, it felt like a leisure read. I read it cover to cover in one sitting on a Saturday; that's how much it hooked me! This book is a MUST have to any stock market initiate. Hats off, Jason.
19 Amazing book
Jason Kelly's 2004 edition was great. This book can help you no matter what age you are, just as long as you have an interest in the stock market. I'm only 19 years old and have nothing but rave reviews for this book. Jason got me hooked on investing.
20 "The Neatest Little Guide" is the "neatest guide"
From my own personal experience of reading this book several times, page to page, I can certainly say that it has become a valuable investment for me as an investor and also for several friends and colleagues. Not only does Jason Kelly speculate on the differences between Growth and Value investing, he also provides you with CRITICAL information on how to wisely invest in both catagories. My advice is to read this book and soak it in. If you pay attention and take just a little time out of your day, even if only before bed or during your lunch break, I can assure you that it will improve your investment strategies 100%! READ THIS BOOK
21 Great Investment Book
"The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing
by Jason Kelly" is a great book for people looking to invest in stocks or the novice stock investor. Having read this book I have a new in site on how to invest in the markets
22 What a HUGE contradiction. A slap in the face.
There is a theme of claims made in this book that makes absolutely zero sense and is a complete contradiction. One of the pillars of the book seems to be that people who work in the stock trading field, and who are experts at analyzing companies and have 10+ years experience in the market and who are referred to as gurus, do not know what they are doing and are often wrong. The book then goes about trying to convince the reader who has little to no experience that through using the same data analysis techniques that "the guru's" use, you can somehow do better than they have.

I am not talking about the grand-poobahs that are presented in the book as gods, such as Peter Lynch, Warren Buffett, etc. I am talking about the example after example after example the book gives of people who are phenominally experienced, massively overeducated, and constantly make huge mistakes in telling investors what to do as though they are throwing darts blindfolded at the stock list to provide investors a list of companies to invest in.

It's like the author has written a book on how to fix your car, then in the same breath trying to convince you that master mechanics are often wrong in diagnosing the problems with your car and you (joe schmow) can do a better job fixing your car than a master mechanic.

The only real difference between yourself and the common expert using the same techniques will be intuition, and sorry folks, but no one can teach intuition.

You can buy this book for light terminology coverage and the simple mechanics of how things work, but I cannot imagine any book by any human that will teach you how to make money in the stock market. If all it took was simple number crunching to pick good companies to invest in, then a mindless computer could make each of us millionaires and pick the companies for us. No more gurus, no more tedious analysis. The ONLY true method to get rich in stocks is intuition or psychic ability, and many to most of us don't have it.

I'd like to thank all investment book writers for ... well... nothing.

23 Don't Waste Your Money
Hmmm...this book offers interviews and advice from such so-called experts as Gary Pilgrim, the PBHG Funds manager who now faces criminal charges for ripping off his shareholders and resigned in disgrace earlier this year. Kelly says he "admires" Pilgrim. The book is full of outdated advice, despite the "2004 Edition" on the cover. Don't waste your money.
24 A Great Investment Book
"The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing" is a great book for all investors.

This book will teach you how to analyze individual stocks. You will learn which information is important and where to go to find it.

It makes the vagaries of investing clear. It concisely covers areas such as Valuation Ratios, Growth Strategies, and Value Strategies.

No only does this book cover a wide variety of information, but it then distills it down into the best strategies for investment success.

Essentially, this is a must have book for anyone new to investing.

25 Stock market investing made clear and simple
Jason Kelly did an excellent job explaining all the critical information about stock market investing. The examples were clear and concise without going into too much unnecessary detail. I come from a background where I knew stocks could provide some significant benefits, and with the format of this book, it really cut-to-the-chase and made it very exciting and interesting. The only thing I can think of to improve on would be to consider a small section on what you can actually expect when you start the research process.
26 Jason Kelly provides an enjoyable ride
I found Jason Kelly's book "The Neatest Little..." to be very informative and his prose style made this book fun to read. With Jason's help, I now feel that I am on my way to moving from novice investor to intermediate and hopefully onward from there. Too many investment authors straddle the fence of opinion. Jason tells you what he thinks. I like that. I think that I will continue to find the information provided in this book to be useful to me for years to come. I am looking forward to reading more of Jason's work.
Thanks Jason Kelly.
27 The most valuable investment you can make...
Purchasing Jason Kelly's The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing may be the most valuable investment that you ever make in your life. Kelly breaks down all of the complicated Wall Street jargon into plain easy to read English. This book will have you up to speed on stocks and investing like a pro in no time. If you're thinking about investing in the market and are not sure where to start, start by reading The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing.
28 This book is a winner!
I picked this book up while browsing the shelves at Barnes and Noble. I had previously read the "Dummies" series on investing, but I found that they joked around way too much. Investing my money is not a joking matter. Kelly unclouded many of the issues that were keeping me from taking the leap into the market. He gives clear and precise instructions on building a "Stocks to Watch" worksheet and how to eliminate the losers and keep your winners. He gives various strategies from long term investing to the more aggresive growth funds. I am now in the process of applying his methods of building a balanced portfolio of my own. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about making money on Wall Street.
29 Ideal Stock Market 101 Crash Course
If you are looking for a quick and easy approach to learning the important principles of the stock market, this is the perfect book for you. It provides just the right information for a novice to the market, so one feels reasonably well prepared to trade.
30 Perfect for first-time investors and even the experienced
With a humouristic, tongue-in-cheek approach, Mr. Kelly does an excellent job at not just exposing the common terms of stock investment, but also provides a better understanding as to their relevance in investing. His approach keeps the reader interested without trailing off too far into complicated terms and concepts that would turn most readers off. He balances the two concepts of value and growth investing well by presenting theories of popular strategists with their respective theories and intertwining them with core concepts of investing. This is a highly recommended book for those who are minimally curuious or who want to get their feet wet in self-directing their own investments.
31 Kelly is a Personal Instructor
At his best, Jason Kelly seems to be next to me. Guiding and providing the most neatest information I need. A must!
32 Excellent Book
Great book for the new investor. Highly recommended!!!
33 A Great Primer!
Kelly gets 4 stars just for summarizing the Greats: Buffet, O'Neil, Lynch, Pilgrim, Fisher, Graham, and O'Shaughnessy. The rest of the book is a great novice primer and easy reference book for looking at company finacial data and all the important ratios. While he presents a sound investment strategy and worksheet for input, I would recommend further reading. Being able to sort through a companies finacials needs more than a primer. You may also want to read more about the Great investor he mentions. Kelly also presents some good picks for newspapers and magazines.

I can't believe there are used books for sale, this one will stay on my self for easy reference!

34 A great go-to reference
The stock market is extremely dangerous, extremely competitive, because there's only so much money in the pool, and only so many shares to battle for control over. A professional trader's website emphasizes that risk, the reality, is often soft-peddled to the public. The Perfect Storm is what I consider as the perfect "market training" movie to emphasize just how risky the market can be, and how important careful planning and respect for risk can be. Jaws is a great example of outright bad planning. As a Market Wizard said, I 'm not surprised by anything the market can do, any sudden new parameter, low or high. This comprehensive book is a great keeper reference, and I think rightfully emphasizing sound fundamentals of a financially sound company, over charting, merely what fickle market price says, and other technicals.
35 Beginner to Guru in 7 easy chapters
Kelly has put together an excellent book here. In 7 chapters, he covers a breadth of knowledge that every serious or potential stock investor should be familiar with. I learned more in the week I spent reading this book, than in 6 months of listening to tips from co-workers, on-line discussions, and self-directed research.

In chapter 1, he defines all the terminology you'll encounter in stocks. In a very readable manner, he quickly covers EPS, P/E, PSR, ROE, Beta, and numerous other concepts that are useful.

In chapter 2, he describes the methods of 6 all-time top investors (including: Buffett, Lynch, O'Neil, etc.) comparing and contrasting there methods.

In chapter 3, he explores what some historic evaluations of stock growth show. This is great stuff, especially during a down market.

In chapter 4, he explains in detail the Dow Dividend Strategy. Anyone can understand this and with only 30 minutes of work per year have a relatively successful investment plan.

In chapter 5, he covers the process of choosing a broker and placing orders.

In chapter 6, he covers some of the many methods you can use to research stocks. With a ton of web-sites, newsletters, and books, Kelly's advice can save you countless hours wasting time looking for information from the wrong source.

In chapter 7, he explains his own strategy. With easy to understand worksheets and using the knowledge gained earlier in the book, he guides you into an investment plan that will suit you.

Not only is this book full of good information, but it's written in a very readable manner. I highly recommend reading this book BEFORE making another investment decision. Even if you have a broker that you like, you owe it to yourself to educate yourself with this book.

36 Amazing
This book is a must buy for anyone thinking of diving into the world of stocks. Having almost no knowledge of the market, I now feel like a Wallstreet guru after reading this book. Kelley's unbiased approach to investing, gives you the choice of how you would like to invest in the future. I can't wait to read his other books!
37 Must have for a novice investor
I'll be breif. If you are a novice investor, this is a must start with book. Don't waste time and money on other books.
38 WOW!
I am a very novice investor and have taken classes in investing...I love this book...it has become my investing bible...it is very easy to understand, covers areas thoroughly, and puts the whole thing together for those of us who need to see how things are related...I also love the small size, it makes it easy to cart around! (And, I cart it everywhere!!)
39 Excellent book!
I just purchased this book and couldn't be more pleased. This is absolutely the best book that I have found for a person just starting out in investing in the stock market. It explains everything that you need to know in an extremely interesting and sometimes humorous manner. It is not a great book if you expect deep analysis on charting. It is, however, very good at describing many of the criteria that you will use in building your charts.
40 Jason,You are my guru
Great!!! A must read book for both novice and experienced investors. Explains the greatness of Value and Growth Investing.. Explains how gurus like Warren,Philip,Benjamin and others viewed the market..Overall a must buy..
41 Great Buy!!
This book is definately for the people who do not know the first thing about investing in stocks. From the 1st page to the last, the author gives you a powerful insight into the investment world. I can't believe that I actually understand the ins-and-outs of stocks after reading this book. The author gives you real world examples and detailed information on the scary terms associated with the stock world. From Dow Jones, S&P 500, to P/E, Ratios, and so on. If you don't buy any other book, buy this one!
42 Great starter book-easy to read
Being a novice in what appeared to be the complex world of stock market investing, this book was a breath of fresh air. The author takes the mystery out of how the market works, explains how the master investors do it, then, points you to where you need to go to find the information you need to be successful. After all this, he helps you establish your own core portfolio with specific directions on what to look for in your other stock market investments. I would strongly recommend this book for anyone interested in understanding investment stratigies. There is so much easily understood information packed into this little book, that my copy is already dog earred and has helped me set up and implement my own investment strategy. This book is a must for any library
43 I Love this Book!
I'm a high school student and I always had an interest in the stock market, but it always seemed too dull and complicated to get involved in. Jason Kelly opened my eyes to world of Wall Street. I took the book out of the library and kept it for weeks. I've got to buy the book now because I can't keep renewing it. Kelly writes in a conversational style that always kept me wanted to read more. He covers all aspects of investing and even includes tips from the professionals like William O'Neil and Warren Buffett. His writing is light hearted and the little cartoons help to keep it simple and understandable. I started investing because of Kelly and his strategies have led me on a successful path so far. I recommend this book to anyone interested in investing in the stock market. It is informative, interesting and never too complicated. Definitley buy this one today!
44 One Stop Shopping for Beg. - Int. Investors
I just finished this book and I have to say that it is the single best book to buy for a beginner to intermediate investor. It covers all the essentials, and I think that if I could choose one book about investing to recommend to friends to start with, this would definitely be it.
45 BUY THIS BOOK!
There are not enough positive adjectives to describe this book. This is the most concise, clearly written book on investing in stocks that you will ever find. Mr. Kelly's writing style is exceptional. (I agree with the person who said "no fluff") He writes in a nonpretensious, honest way and shares EVERYTHING he has learned with the reader. This is the most well rounded, book I have read to date. I now have the confidence to invest wisely. Please, do yourself a favor...buy this book!
46 Clear, Concise, User-friendly
If you've never read a book about investing in the stock market, this is a great book to start with. Having read many of the authors that Jason cites, I found his distillation of their concepts quite good. Jason first teaches one how to evaluate stocks, and then what the Master Investors (e.g., Buffett, Fisher) can teach us about investing and stock selection. Jason also focuses on a book entitled "What Works on Wall Street." This book by James O'Shaughessy revolves around his study of 43 years of results from 1952-1995 contained in Standard & Poor's Compustat database. Jason's book ends with chapters to help you set up your own core portfolio utilizing the methodology he has set forth.

Bottom line: if you're looking for a thorough discussion of the Capital Asset Pricing Model or the Equity Premium, then I would look at more academic texts, but if you want a clear, user-friendly, well-researched discussion of the stock market, I would buy this book. The average 5 star review from 25 people (as of this review) is substantial evidence to this book's value.

47 Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing
When I first started in an investment club this was the singlemost helpful book I found. Kelly does a wonderful job of explaining various popular approaches to investing, however, I found the last section of his book to be a gold mine. I had a basic question: "When I look at ROA, ROE, Book Value, etc. is a higher number or a lower number better?" Jason Kelly tells you! Not only does he tell you but he also tells you what this means in terms of your investment approach - growth or value. This is a wonderful beginner's book. I have recommended it to everyone in my investment club. I keep coming back to it again and again. I highly recommend this book.
48 top of my gift list
i give this book to anybody i know that invests in stocks. highly recommended.
49 Superb
As a rule I don't get excited about stock books anymore, but this one broke the rule. Not since first reading Graham have I felt so taken by the hand and shown how the market really works. Kelly is a masterful writer, moving easily from funny examples to hard-edged streetsmarts. The Mister Magazine story made all the sense in the world without getting boring or patronizing like the dummies and idiots books. If you don't know what the Mister Magazine story is, don't worry, you will after reading the book.
50 great book for beginers highly recomend Easy reading
great book recomend to all my friends and famil
51 The easiest primer I've found yet
I love this book. It's the best one I have found for getting started in what has been the most profitable endeavor of the past decade. It not only taught me about everything from big Dow companies to small Internet startups, it made me laugh! This is pure artistry in a business book, something you don't run across everyday.
52 Outstanding!
SIMPLY MUST READ MATERIAL FOR NOVICE AND EXPERIENCED INVESTORS ALIKE. WONDERFULLY WRITTEN ,HUMOROUS ,AND VERY COMPREHENSIVE. I'VE RECOMMENDED THIS BOOK TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS WITHOUT HESITATION. WORTH MUCH MUCH MORE THAN IT'S SELLING PRICE.AM AWAITING EAGERLY FOR MR. KELLY'S FUTURE WORK IN THE AREA OF STOCK INVESTING!
53 Excellent Book for those new to the Stock Market!
This is a very concise book on the Stock Market. Well written in plain english for those of us who did not major in Finance. Included are the terms often heard in the industry with clear definitions/examples of the terms. It really helped make learning the about the Market easy!
54 Can't say enough about this one
This book is excellent. It's the only one I've ever picked up that is easy to read and practical. There's no get-rich-quick drivel or daytrading nonsense, just an entertaining look at how the masters teach us to invest on our own. Other readers have said that this book rivals classic investment titles, but I would go one further and say that it's hands down the best.
55 I just bought my second copy.
This the first investment book I have been able to read cover to cover. Mr. Kelly's style and explanations are very comprehensive and entertaining. In fact, I have recently bought another copy to give as a gift. I only wish I would have read this book sooner.
56 Real Turnover- A proper Approach
Finally, an investment book that makes sense. The author does an unusually good job of telling readers what the experts look for in an investment and how they avoid mistakes. These lessons present the perspectives of some of the nation's top fund managers. The best part is that the author gives you the pros and cons of every strategy.
57 Great Introduction to Stocks
This is one of the better investment books I have seen.

Kelly's book is written in a straight-forward manner, without the dryness that often infests other investment books. Yet, this book is not filled with fluff.

Kelly gives a very interesting discussion about the similarities and differences between the stock picking philosophies of various investors such as Buffet, Lynch, and several others. Kelly then borrows what he considers to be the best ideas from each, and builds his own investing philosophy.

The system Kelly presents, however, is not a gimmicky get-rich-quick scheme. It involves lots of work and an unemotional attitude. Kelly's system can be summed up as "do your homework".

Perhaps the most useful section of this book is the very last section, which contains a worksheet and stock watch table you can use to organize and analyze your stocks.

58 The newest classic
This book is a gem. It's the only new book about stock investing to earn a place beside the classics by Graham, Fisher, and Lefevre. Jason Kelly has a splendid way with words and teaches everything a person needs to know to profit from the stock market. He even manages to get a laugh here and there, something I've found to be rather rare among money books. While this title may be redundant to old pros, it is the best choice for novices. That said, this old pro found himself engrossed in the pages for an entire evening. Mr. Kelly, take a bow. You've penned the newest classic in the body of investment literature.
59 This book is on-the-money (literally)!!
Without any doubt, this is the best book I have read so far! Regretfully, I don't believe my review will do this excellent work justice, so I guess you have to find out for yourself....ENJOY!
60 Don't Miss This One!
I can't write enough about this book. It covers so much in such a tiny amount of space that I found myself flipping back through the pages just to see how I learned it all. The word economy here is unbelievable. It teaches much more than books three times its length. The truly magical part about Kelly's writing is that it never gets boring. It's funny, instructive, convincing, and thorough. This book will not only get you ready to make big money in stocks, it will teach you how to write well. The part I enjoyed most was the section about market volatility. Kelly tells the story of Intel in 1994 when its chip failed certain math calculations. He showed how foolish investors abandoned the stock when nothing fundamental had changed. In the end, they needlessly lost money. You will never lose money after reading this book. Instead, you'll understand how to use fluctuations to your advantage and always come out ahead. This should be the first investment book on anybody's list and should be re-read every year. As you can tell by now, I loved this book!
61 A Must-Have if you're heading for Wall St.
After reading this book, I feel like I could make a killing on Wall St.!! Mr. Kelly gives a lot of good pointers and tips, plus tells what the biggest money-makers look for in stocks. Very informative and chatty.
62 One of the best
I've read almost every book on stocks and this is one of the best. It pulls together the finest advice written about stock investing and translates it into memorable language. Kelly's ramp-up system that takes the novice from mutual funds to large cap Dow stocks to small cap growth stocks is smart. He shows the wisdom of Warren Buffett alongside the practical observations of Peter Lynch. Rather than take sides in the age old value vs. growth debate, Mr. Kelly shows how the two systems work best together. Perhaps most importantly, the book shows that it is vital for every investor to understand his or her companies thoroughly. Only then can you make an educated decision whether to buy more when the price dips. Read this book, folks. It is one of the best.
63 A perfect beginners guide on how to work stocks
Kelly's book is the perfect way to introduce oneself to what the stock market consists of and how it can be looked at from different angles. It is a great book whether one is looking to get started or needs to refresh on certain aspects of the market. I highly suggest this book to those whom do not have a farmiliar background in dealing with the market but would like to get started.
64 Everyone can learn from this.
Authors especially can learn from Kelly's presentation. He gives the reader all of the information, concisely, completely, and without being unduely technical. Kelly covers all the bases in plain language with clear subject headings so it can readily be used for continuing reference. The book won't tell you everything about investing, but it serves as a great starting point.
65 A Very Complete Book For The Beginning Investor
A complete book which shows you how to evaluate stocks, how the legendary investors like Graham, Lynch and Buffett invest, how to read the financial pages and reports to get the important ratios for comparing stocks. This book also give you good publications and good Internet resources. A beginner can save a lot of time (and money!!!) by reading just this one book.
66 The perfect investment book for the beginner.
I was interested in getting started in investing and picked up a few books. I lucked out with both (the other being the Motley Fool Investment Guide). Kelly's book gives you a solid foundation for starting out and direction for further reading and research
67 Greatest stock investing book for the beginner.
This is hands down one of the greatest learner books I have come across. Run don't walk to purchase this!!!!
68 Hit a home run with this book; then get your ten-bagger!
This book gets to the point quickly, on all points. There are sprinklings of humor, to make it more interesting. If I had to choose one book, on the subject of stocks, this would be it. It has answered my original question: "How can the true value of a stock be determined?" It has answered many other questions before I even asked them. This book anticipates the needs of the reader, as though intuitively knowing what next the investor student needs. It is as though this little book is a genie with all of the answers ready to pop out at anytime. Jason Kelly did a fantastic job!
69 Simple, no-nonsense, and informative!
What caught my attention was the chapter "How the Masters Tell Us to Invest" which introduces, discusses, summarizes, and compares the investment principles of 6 Masters (including Fisher, Buffett, Lynch, O'Neil): excellent! The author helps the do-it-yourself investor, i.e. the investor who has realized that "no one will ever care about my money as much as I do", with other chapters on publications for investment research, criteria for stock selection, discount brokers, etc This book has a much broader scope than many investment books today with only 1 or 2 ideas that can be summarized in half a page. It is easy to read, simple to understand, well organized, and INFORMATIVE.
70 Great Book A must read for Novice Investors, easy to read
This book was very easy to read and understand. Great book for people who want to learn about the stock market and how everything works. I will share this book with my friends.
71 This should be the first two investing books that you buy.
I can not recommend this book enough! I have a stack of half-read financial books on my coffee table but my copy of The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing has been read, reread and consistently used for reference and stock comparison. Because I haven't let it out off my sight this last month I purchased multiple copies to let members of my investment club read. Everyone that has read any part of the book has very positive feedback and a clear knowledge of the subject covered. I believe any one of the seven information packed chapters is worth the price of the book. For investment clubs this is guide that will get things moving in the right direction. For people like me with mixed results from other books this is a find. For those that have not bought their first book about investing in the stock market this book should be the first two books that you buy, you'll want to share it but you won't want to be without it.

Quote of the Day:

The only happiness lies in reason; all the rest of the world is dismal.

The highest reason, however, I see in the work of the artist, and he may
experience it as such. Happiness lies in the swiftness of feeling and
thinking: all the rest of the world is slow, gradual and stupid. Whoever
could feel the course of a light ray would be very happy, for it is very
swift. Thinking of oneself gives little happiness. If, however, one feels
much happiness in this, it is because at bottom one is not thinking of
oneself but of one's ideal. This is far, and only the swift shall reach
it and are delighted.
-- Nietzsche

For my birthday I got a humidifier and a de-humidifier... I put them in
the same room and let them fight it out.
