Because NETGEAR uses the latest networking technology, Network Disk Drives are the easiest and fastest way to add extra hard drive capacity for everyone on the network.NETGEAR Network Disk Drives allow you to increase your hard drive capacity without going through the hassle of adding internal hard drives and with better performance then drives connected through a parallel port. No complicated server setup or hardware installation is required. NETGEAR Network Disk Drives come with FirstGear installation software that automatically installs the drive on your PC. Easy to read LEDs give visual indication of how full your network disk drive is getting. Network technology is rapidly approaching the speeds of buses internal to your PC. Connections to the network disk drives are made through built-in 10/100Mbps Ethernet technology. At 100 Mbps these drives provide performance close to that of an internal hard drive. Because of the built-in network connection, NETGEAR Network Disk Drives have the added advantage of being accessible to anyone connected to the network.

Customer Service [stinks]. I bought this product new. After 30 days, it dies on me. All it does is emit this beeping noise. Called Tech Support 1st time and was told to just wait for the beeping to stop. Called again after I waited a week for the beeping to stop and the Tech sounded like he was on a cell phone, telling me to call back in 30 minutes. No support on the website what-so-ever. Product [stinks]. Slow 5400RPM drive crunches louder than rice krispies. Buy any other brand but this. Buy something worth your [money]. Build a PC for [price] and add massive drives in it. Don't be fooled by the name brand.
