1 life of battery
I have the nikon coolpix 4300 digital and two of these batterys. They work great as long as they last which is not 2 hours in my case. Maybe it is because I leave the monitor and flash on most of the time and take my pictures in a large size. All in all with two of these battery's I never run out of juice!
2 Save Hundreds and Hundreds on disposable Batteries.
If this Battery is the one for your Camera, Buy at least Two of these and get a recharger for AC and one for DC. I have taken hundreds of 5.1 MP shots on just two batteries. Recharging one while using the other.

If I missed a shot it wasn't the dead battery fault.

If you buy two of these batteries you can take pics like you just don't care, and you won't have to either. What more could you ask? it is a no brainer.
3 Required accessory for your camera
Lets put it short and simple:
If you want to spend a day out photographing, you must have a backup battery. There are few things more disappointing than running out of battery when you still want to take pictures.
I didn't have a backup battery while visiting Paris. We ended up buying many EXPENSIVE disposable batteries.
When you consider how priceless memories of your vacations are, it would be a shame to let a few dollars keep those memories from being recorded.
4 Very Good
I own six of these batteries, and they have all worked fine. I typically go on road trips with some mountain climbing, and I will shoot hundreds of images a day. Generally, I go through about two batteries a day, at this rate. I often camp, so am unable to get to a power source, then have to get a motel room sometimes every other day.

Using my EH-21, I can recharge as many as five batteries a night--they usually take some 1.5 hours to fully recharge. It's so convenient to have the recharge light so I know when the charge is completed.

I hope to upgrade to a higher MP Coolpix, soon, and the added recharger that now comes along with the camera should make for faster recharging, then able to use two at a time.

You do need to keep these babies warm during the night camping, and take them out of the camera while you're not using them during cool or cold nights.

I have to replace a exhausted battery quickly for my Coolpix 880, since if I wait too long, I must reset the camera settings, including the time and date. My Coolpix 2000 does not have this problem.

It's good to have a few batteries since they take up little room in my camera pack, and beginners might be distressed to find with only one or two batteries, you can run out of juice after only a few hundred shots. I do use my LCD display heavily, and am often turning the camera on and off.

Cheers for Nikon that they do not fail to support this product by changing to new types of batteries for their newer models. I plan to get either a 5400 or 8700, later, since they use the same battery type.

These EN-EL 1 batteries last much longer than a set of AA batteries. They have lasted me some hundreds of recharges so far, and I have not had to throw away any of my batteries, going back to 2001.
5 battery life span is 3 years!
The battery is quick to charge and lasts days for the 995 I'm using. One draw back though: if you are the kind of amateur like me who takes tons of photos on one trip and forget the camera for half a year, then remember to take the battery out before you store it away! Otherwise as fore-warned in the brochure you'll see you battery aging much faster than it should be. This fact is buried in the camera manual and the battery doesn't come with any manual at all!

6 A satisfied customer?
I received this item in a timely manner, and it was in perfect condition. However, it must have been in a very hot place for awhile, because when I opened the box, the battery was rattling around loose in the box, and had come out of its package; the plastic front part of the package that the battery was actually in had simply let go of the cardboard backing. It wasn't torn, it just let go. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my new battery.
7 Charges Quickly
Did the battery already charge? I guess it did... These batteries seem to charge quickly. They are also compact. I would recommend all users to get at least two batteries, and maybe even three. Once I was out photographing and ran out of battery power after about 1.5 hours. Not having any way to charge the battery on the road, I wasn't able to take any more pictures. Imagine being able to take a beautiful picture, but not being able to do so since you have no battery power. Be good to yourself, and buy another battery or two.
8 Whole lot of battery than generic ones
I have 5700 and have tried other other generic (digipower) battery and they are not the same. you could save couple of buck but not worth it at all. my original 8month Nikon EN-EL1 outlasts generic battery by at least 1/3rd, not only does it lack, the cameria act very strange when battery is low. I think it's definetely worth it.
9 Using it with Nikon 5700..
Purchase a second battery even though one can easily take 100-150 ( depending on flash usage ) on one battery charge. This is without any doubt the most useful accessory in my camera kit. I am using this with my Nikon 5700. No problem with this product and recommend purchasing it.
10 Great battery!
I have the coolpix 5700 and use this battery - it charges up pretty quickly (seems to be under an hour) and lasts a good long time. We just got back from a trip to Turkey & Greece and I took this camera and two battteries along. Took lots of pictures - battery seemed to last a good day or so between charges.
11 please reply
I received the battery much faster than expected. 3 days with normal delivery. But I have one confusion as the battery EN-EL1 cover does not have coolpix model 4500 listed. It has coolpix 775, 880, 885, 995, 5000 but coolpix 4500 is not in the list. I am planning to use the EN-EL1 battery with coolpix 4500. Also on the battery it has 680mAh instead of expected 650mAh. But the voltage and everything is correct. Is this a problem? Can somebody reply soon.
12 Is there good battery for Nikon 4500
Battery (Nikon 4500) shows half does not means 50% left, actually there are 25%-35% left, is there battery can tell more exact number ? That will be great one.
13 An absolute must for the 995
I have the Nikon 995, and possibly the only problem I have with it is that it won't show you how much battery life you have left. It shows full, half, and empty, which really doesn't tell you very much. So, I wind up spending a lot of time stressing over whether a "half charged" battery was 30% full, and going to run out, or 80% full, and going to last the whole shoot.
Save yourself the worry, buy a second one.
This battery is a quick recharge (about two hours) and a long life. With the Nikon 995, you should have 110 minutes of use with the LCD, or days of use without it. I kid you not, the battery is good for days of continuous use if you operate without the monitor.
Buy a spare battery, keep one charging at all times. Never worry about batteries again.
Be well,
Indra
14 This is the battery for Nikon Coolpix 775, 880 and 995
You can take a lot of pictures (100+) with the charge on one of these batteries, but its hard to know when your going to run out. Having a second seems a must.

I don' know about the other cameras that use this battery, but the 775 comes with an external charger that charges a battery in less than 2 hours. It also has an interal battery that keeps track of the date & time and is automatically recharged from the fresh EN_EL1 battery. (Some camera settings are lost when you remove the EN_EL1 battery).

15 Not Even An Option - A Necessity!
With my Nikon Coolpix 880, two of these and a charger, I no longer go broke buying batteries.
16 Gotta have two!
880's a great camera that eats batteries like Elvis at a hamburger joint. Buy two so you always have a backup that's fully charged.
17 Don't go out without one
This is the second rechargeable battery I bought for my Nikon 880. It's worth the price, since you'll otherwise eat up regular batteries at a frightening rate. It thought I could get by with one battery, but it can be a big problem to run out of power on the road -- you might as well buy two right off the bat.

You need the charger (sold separately). It's annoying that you can't charge the battery in the camera, and even more annoying that you have to plug the camera into the recharger or it will forget date and settings when you take the battery out.

18 But wait there's more...
First you bought your Nikon 880 and realized it didn't come with a carrying case, or rechargeable battery, or enough memory. So you bought a carrying case, a memory card, and a rechargeable battery, only to find that the battery and its recharger are sold separately. Now just add up the price of the camera, carrying case, memory card, recharger, and rechargeable battery and compare that with many of the other digital cameras that come with these accessories in the original package. I know I wish I had.
19 Must have for the CoolPix 880
If you have a Nikon CoolPix 880 you MUST have this battery. The EL-1 will keep you camera running for about 2 hours and can be recharge with the Nikon AC Adaptor/Charger.

You would better served if you pick up two of these so one can be chargeing while the other is in use. Lots of power packed into a tiny unit. Save the landfills and use a rechargable.

Also this product can save you lots of money, as the standard battery is about $12 to replace.
