The Cool-Light SL-1 macro ring light is designed to provide Nikon Coolpix users easy macro shooting without the need for special lighting equipment. This extremely portable and easy-to-use light works with eight, high-luminance white LED bulbs to give a lightweight, full-surround illumination. Because Coolpix cameras are often used in work, studio and documentation environments, the addition of this new Marco light gives Nikon Coolpix users more power and shooting options when they need to be as close as possible to the subject. The Cool-Light SL-1 lights images from a shooting distance as close as 2cm with the Coolpix 4500 and Coolpix 900 series of cameras, thanks to its flat-front design. The light is powered with two 3V CR2-type lithium batteries to provide approximately 6 hours of continuous lighting, and approximately 500 lux luminance, it can be optionally powered by most Coolpix AC adapters. The Cool-Light SL-1 attaches directly to the Coolpix 950, 990, 995 and Coolpix 4500 digital cameras, while a standard lens adapter ring is necessary for use with the Coolpix 5000, 885, 880 and 775 digital cameras. The Cool-Light SL-1 macro ring lightis extremely portable. The light measures 2.8 x 3.6 x 0.8-inches and weighs approximately 2.8-ounces (without batteries) to offer photographers easy hand-held shooting operation.

I HAVE HAD THIS LIGHT FOR MORE THAN A YEAR NOW. I HAVE USED IT FOR SEVERAL THINGS FROM TAKING CLOSEUPS OF JEWELRY TO OUTDOOR PICTURES IN THE NIGHT. 2 Fantastic for dental photography
I recently bought this light for use in my dental practice. After looking for expensive ring flaslights, this cool light is simply great. One of the features i like more is that when you use a ring flashlight in dental photography you need to close off all the other light sources, which means you have them on, you focus, you turn them off and you shoot the photo. With the cool light the light is allready on before and after the shot.
