I'm an advanced amateur photographer, with over 40 years of 35mm experience. A Coolpix 5700 entered my life last Christmas. After about 6 months experience with the base camera, there was no hesitation in ordering the wide angle converter. The only shortcoming of the base camera was its lack of w/a capability. The telephoto capability of the camera should be sufficient for most users, those requiring the outer limits of telephoto may want to consider the tele converter. Let me tell you first, this lens weighs a bunch and is BIG! But it works great! I shoot mostly candids and wedding type photos and find this lens indispensable. Images are typically Nikon razor sharp. On my Coolpix 5700, it provides super sharp photos in auto mode, without the camera knowing a w/a lens is attached. At user setting 2 on my camera, with a Vivitar 285 flash attached, and the camera knowing there is a w/a lens on board, I've made some remarkable shots. IMHO, this converter makes my camera complete - BUY IT!
