Nokia 3560 Phone (AT&T)

1 Crappy Phone
I have had problem after problem with this phone. First, half the time certain keys on the keypad wouldn't work. Second, half the time I wouldn't receive voicemails until 4 or 5 days after they had been sent--very very frustrating. Third, I cannot get unlimited nights and weekends with Cingular, because it is a TDMA and not a GSM phone-- this makes my blood boil, as they will not give me a replacement phone with GSM so that I can fairly receive nights and weekends that everyone else gets with Cingular. Bottom line--avoid TDMA phones if you are with Cingular, as u will be discriminated against by not getting all the features you should be getting!!

2 Very reliable
I've owned this phone for a year and a half, and it's never given me any trouble. Its features pretty much cover all of my needs, but if you're looking for a phone that has all the latest features like a camera, then look elsewhere.

I get great reception everywhere with the exception of those places in the middle of nowhere. Its battery life has declined a bit, but that's to be expected, especially if you consider how long I've had it. This phone has done everything I've wanted it to and has never malfunctioned once, but I do treat it very well.

Overall, if you're looking for a very reliable phone that will last you a long time and look pretty good at the same time, go with this one.
3 Just about the coolest little TDMA phone available
While certainly not a high-end phone, the 3560 is nontheless respectable as is its sibling 3595 GSM phone. Bright, color, loud, graphics, games, and text messaging. I find it to be easier with a 3595 keypad even though the original keypad looks more usable. You can set its auto timed keyguard feature so inadvertent button pushing does nothing.

Around here the best coverage is still provided by AT&T (Cingular Blue) TDMA. This phone also does AMPS so you can communicate if you find yourself in the boonies. Works well on prepaid service.

While it does not sync, you can use Nokia PC suite to send contacts and calendar appointements to it so you can load the contacts from a computer rather than from the phone.
4 "Can't let you do that Dave...or that, or that..."
Could use some work on this phone, Normally Nokia puts out a suprior product. I'm sorry to say this one missed. Mine ferquintly cuts out calls, and without locking the keys one is truly in danger of wasting mineuts, Also (to flogg a dead horse) there is a tendancy for the bloody thing not to ring. When an incoming call is in progress,I've actually watched the caller I.D. go on with out hearing a peep out of the phone: and for you wise guys out there- no it was not on silent:).
In some cases there is a definate echo.

On the pluse side the menus are fairly easy to navigate, and placeing an out going call is rather reliable, the battery as with most drains faster over time, but starts out fairly well (and then goes to utter trash in record time). And the screen color and wallpaper options are ...Ok.
5 Great Phone, Perfect Size
I absolutely adore this phone. I find it to be the perfect size and it has wonderful battery life. I can have it off the charger and leave it on for 48 hours, and then some. I don't know what I would do without my Nokia! And for its size, it is rather light weight, which is great. I even bought a cell phone cover for mine, to keep it in good condition.

The only down-side: It was VERY hard to come across a cell phone cover that was meant for this model. It took a lot of searching to get it, but I'm glad I did. It takes good care of the phone, even if I don't! The cover was rare so it was kinda of expensive as well. :(
6 A decent phone by Nokia, but nothing special
This is a very good phone for anyone who is a Nokia fan or who doesn't want anything fancy. It will call people and receive calls. It has a color screen, downloadable ring tones and games, and has a decent audio quality. There is no camera or bluetooth or advanced organization tools. It is growing increasingly outdated and by a year from now hardly anybody will be using it anymore, but if you own this phone I wouldn't go running to throw it out just yet. It gets the job done, but isn't going to wow you in the process.
7 only if desperate
this phone is boring, ugly, heavy and sometimes freezes. The reception is good but sometimes you could hear yourself echo when speaking. I would only use this phone for emergencies. Also, the phone uses the battery more because it is not a flip phone. This phone has to be locked because if it is to be kept in a bag or pocket buttons will be pressed which can cause it to call someone and waste your minutes.
8 Amazon is great.. phone is great, just say away from AT&T
WARNING: AT&T representatives ("Dawn: R361" and "Max: N360") themselves said during my troubleshooting (as detailed below) that I should NOT have bought through Amazon, and that they have received a barrage of complaints from Amazon buyers! I still really like Amazon, but they're integration with AT&T is non existent. People should not have to wait 2-3 days for service after they receive the phone. Buy the same phone on Amazon, but a different carrier.
9 JW, Las Vegas
Very Good all around, TDMA. Don't go to GSM for a year or so, in this area, anyway.
10 it sucks!
Okay, here's the deal. I've had mine for 6 months; after two, the little "finger spot" on the back that one customer mentioned came off... this happened to three of my friends with the same phone, also. The vibrate & ringer is really bad, too: not only did mine stop working--both ringing and vibrating--it repeatedly happened with my service provider telling me they could do nothing. This same thing happened with another of my friends. And to the person that said it will dry and work the same... I've been waiting 24 hours for that to happen. I'm going to get a new phone this afternoon.

Motorola has a very lovely color screen non-flip phone, i believe it's the C350... get that if you want a similar phone. It's twenty times as good as any Nokia piece of crap... even the guy at SunCom said so.

11 Great phone!
I got the Nokia 3560 cell phone from Cingular a couple of months ago, and it works great. It has games (bowling, sky diver, backgammon, etc.), wallpapers that you can choose, you can personalize the "welcome screen", and more. You can add ringtones, new wallpapers, and games on this kind of phone if you wish. The reception is good, and the battery works great. This is my first cell phone, and I really like it alot.
One feature that I really wanted on a cell phone is the vibration to let me know someone is calling - why? I am a hearing aid wearer, so this feature helps those who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. This phone has the vibration included, not just the normal ringtones to alert you, so this is a plus.
12 4 and a half stars!
I love my phone. Great color display, works well, good battery life, clarity, features etc. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. However, the only thing I wish this phone was is a camera phone. It does everything else that a person would need, BUT take pictures. So, if you don't want a picture phone, this is the phone for you!
13 unreliable
I've owned two of these. The first one froze up while I was keying in a new address book entry and never worked again. It was under warranty so I got a replacement. The second one still had problems - sometimes the display would just stop responding for a few minutes, or keys would stick and repeat. I'm very dissatisfied.
14 Nokia 3560 Cell Phone
I love my new Nokia 3560 Cell Phone. It has a color display, and you can select color pictures as the wallpaper. I can choose from many ringers. Best of all, it has a voice recorder build into it. I really love my phone
15 Time For A New Cell Phone?
This phone is hot! I've had it about 7 months now. I get e-mail and text messages with it. It has a voice dial option. There's an alarm clock I use all the time. The cost of the phone has dropped a bit since I got it.
16 Very Sturdy
I had the GSM service from ATT which sucked big time. Even though i loved my small Sony Erricson T68i, I had no choice but to migrate to TDMA, as my gsm phone didnt work at lot of places in california. This is my first Nokia, and although a little bulky, the reception is crystal clear(unlike the earlier one). Also the battery life is good and the phones quite sturdy.
17 Takes a beating.
Let's just say that when it comes to cell phones...I'm not the most responsible person around. Call me the cell phone grim reaper, but when I touch one of these things it's usually on it's way out. So when I went cell phone hunting, I heard a Nokia was the way to go. I've dunked this thing completely in water at least 4 times so far, dropped it in sand and all other kinds of stuff, left it in a hot car, and all other kinds of abuse...and it still works fine. Got it wet? Just take it apart and let it dry, it'll work in a few hours. Also AT&T's TDMA service is excellent, and being a college student on a campus where no one gets reception...I do. The color screen is a bit lacking, low resolution, but all I wanted was to be able to talk on my phone, beat the crap out of it, and then talk some more. And I can.
18 Nice Phone
The is my second Nokia phone and I am very pleased with this phone. The calls come in clearer then my Nokia 5165. The display is very bright and clear. I like the feature of the different profiles and the ablity of setting the profile to be timed. It will stay on silent for a set time and then swith to the default profile.

The color display is great. I went back to the 5165 to get the phone numbers and enter them into the 3560 and it was hard to beleive I used this phone so long. The mono color screen on the 5165 is something I could never go back to after a few days with this phone.

I do find it hard to find a belt clip cover for this phone, I was looking for one that would cover the numbers of the phone on the phone. I found one but it is for another Nokia phone but I cannot recall what this model number for this phone.

The bottons for moving on thur and selections of the screens was a little hard to get used to, but worth the extra time it takes to adjust to this phone.

It is great to be able to add more then one phone number for each person entered in the phonebook.

19 Good phone, while it lasted.
This seemed like a solid phone. The rings were all right, and my favorite thing was the battery life. My work gave me this phone, and it worked great for about a month. Then, I started having problems with it. Now, when incoming calls come in, the phone locks up, then shuts itself off. Not sure what is wrong with it, but I am getting a replacement of the same model, so I am hoping it was just a lemon.

Other than my problems, it's been a fine phone. My only complaint is that there is no supported data cable to transfer names and numbers to and from the phone, which means a lot of hand entry if you have a lot of business contacts, like me.

Keyboard has a good feel, and screen is plenty good for a phone.

20 Great for teens.
I got this phone about a month ago and so far I have no problems with it. I am 15 and this is my first cell phone and it's really easy to use and get used to. The reception is good. I also like the features that it has, when ever I am bored at school I always play bowling to pass the time. The ringtones that come with it are ok, but I would rather download my own. All in all this phone is perfect for me and i have no problems with it at all.
21 Good while it lasted
I don't use my phone much; I just have it for security, so the features were wasted on me, for the most part.
I picked this phone because it was free and got good reviews here, and it was fine while it worked. "While it worked"=three months, and then the battery, which is not covered by the warranty, died. So much for that "free" thing. And to think I loved how long a single charge lasted.
22 Pretty pleased
Got this last spring and it still thrills every day.
Yes, it's AT&T-hobbled - no browser - but what's there is more than adequate. Smallish and light, with bright, pretty (albeit not razor-sharp) color screen, large font option )ever tried to read the screens of the newer, cuter phones? oy), holds 500 contacts :-), easy menu system, voice dialing, decent collection of ringtones and ringtone VOLUME that allows you to *hear* your phone when it rings. Reception: Good in most areas - beats Sprint by a country mile. It's TDMA, which I prefer to their GSM (it's not quite there yet.)

It's a solid little phone that doesn't disappoint.

23 Very versatile phone
I got my Nokia 3560 about 4 months ago, I've been using it for a while and I can say that I'm VERY happy with it.
Poliphonic ring tones are very cool, also the features.
Battery life is amazing, Java games and aplications are very fun or useful BUT they take a while to open (about 10 seconds)
The screen definition is quite poor but good enough.
I've been using Nokia cell phones for about a year now and I'm very happy with them, I would highly recomend buying it.
Adress list is very complete and with room enough for all you frinds family and more.
When I bbought it I was actually thinking about geting one with a camera, Thank god I didn't I found out that the pictures are not good quality. I usually don't trust in combo products.

I highly recommend geting this phone.

24 Great phone
I've been an Ericsson user for as long as I've had a cell phone, but when my new cellular carrier stopped carring them and I broke my Ericsson I was left w/ a choice between a Motorolla or Nokia. Since at the time my brother was having trouble w/ his Motorolla I decided to go w/ the Nokia.

Before recieving my Nokia I absoluetly despised them, I thought they looked cheep and were a dime a dozen. However, after recieving my Nokia I can truelly say that I am VERY pleased. This phone has met all my expetations and then some. I'm really pleased w/ all the features and believe that it is better than my Ericsson in almost every way, although my Ericssons battery life was much longer(don't get me wrong the battery life of this phone is VERY good, but my ericsson only needed charging every 5-6 days and I was used to it).

I believe though, that talking on this phone really runs down the battery, but one could still get at least 6 hours non-stop talking.

In all, I really recommend this phone. I think its a good phone for a good price.

25 Nokia Phone
This phone is big!!! Its a replacement for the 'feature free' Panasonic TX phone I had. While the features are great (Tennis game is cool), the battery life rules compared to the Panasonic. For a guy who talks on the phone for well over an hour a day the abttery life is a trade of for the size. I dont use ring tines etc. as the vibrate feature is the one I perfer (Cell phone etiquette, people).
26 Beware of Nokia rebate offers
Bought this phone as a replacement phone to be used with AT & T. One major selling point was a...mail in rebate. When I complained after 5 months, that I never gotten my rebate, Nokia customer service and a supervisor said they never got the claim, are not responsible and had closed the offer already 2 weeks ago.
27 Good Simple Color Nokia, but a tad bit BIG.
Maybe im just used to small phones, but this phone seemed bigger than I expected when I took it out of the box. I was coming from a Nokia 3390/3360, and it was a little bit longer then those. Okay enough about the size if size doesnt bother you. I mean its not HUGE, just bigger than you might think.

The screen is big and bright with customizable wallpapers/screen savers and color schemes. There are also Xpress on Faceplates available in third party or OEM. The menu's are the traditionally friendly Nokia style. Voice clarity is also good. It can do Polyphonic ringtones and the like as well.

Goods:
-Big bright color screen
-Polyphonic Ring tones.. sound almost like real music
-Solid State ATT Coverage [TDMA, not GSM]
-Good Call Quality.
-Above average battery life.

Bads:
-Size may be a bit big for some people, although it wil still fit in a non-tight pants pocket because it is quite flat.
-Menus are a bit slow to react. This is a true of all color nokias. But I have heard that Sony Ericson Menus are even more sluggish.
-Games are a bit boring.

28 Great, but no, I repeat, no synchronization!
Perhaps other reviewers have mistaken the 3560 for some other model of phone. Or perhaps the phone has other features enabled with non-AT&T cell providers. But here's the facts about the 3560, AT&T version:

1) there is no infrared port on the phone. Nor is there mention of an infrared port anywhere in the manual. The diagram of the phone in the manual does not depict an infrared port.

2) the manual does not mention anything about synchronizing the phone with anything. There is no listing in the manual for "synch" or "synchronize." Under "Phone Book" in the index there is no mention in the manual of synchronizing the phone with a PC. Under "Phone Book" in the table of contents, there is no mention of synchronizing it with anything. There is no mention of a data cable in the "accessories" section of the manual.

I have a 3560 and love it. It's a great phone. But the phone book doesn't synchronize with anything, and I consider that to be a weakness. Why do I want to manually input addresses and phone numbers for 250 different entities only to have to re-enter all that information if the phone dies or I get a different phone?

29 Great Phone - no problems
All the reviews that have been written so far have been faulty in one way or another. In comparison to one person's review that claimed that nokia doesn 't even support it any more, nokia has support for that phone along with rings that you can download to your phone. Just go to nokia's website and instant support. Also, you can syncronize your phone with a different phone (my old phone) by simply us using your infared feature, which allows you to syncronize your database. This the handbook for this phone is VERY well organized and covers absolutely everything. One nice feature is that you can have voice tags for people's numbers which makes life very easy. In terms of the battery, you can go for 4 hours and the battery will still have the full battery indicator on which shows that the battery has a VERY long life. I have owned this phone for about a year and have had NO PROBLEMS.
30 TRULY AMAZED
I LIKED MY NOKIA 5165, BUT! IT HAD IT'S FAULTS THAT I NEEDED A NEW PHONE!!!I DECIDED 2 GIVE THE 3560 A TRY & TESTED IT OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE 2 SEE IF IT WOULD BE A DECENT PHONE.I WAS AMAZED @ THE CLARITY OF THE PHONE WHEN I TURNED UP THE VOLUME 2 HEAR OTHERS SPEAK,IT WASN'T DISTORTED,& I COULD STILL GO LOUDER IF I WANTED,I DROVE ALL OVER & TALKED & GOT SO MUCH BETTER RECEPTION,IN AERA'S THAT I HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY.I ALSO TRIED TALKING IN HOUSES,STORES & MOBILE HOMES & HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. I TALKED 3 HOURS STRAIGHT IN A MOBILE HM. @ WAS HEARD CLEARLY & DIDN'T FADE OUT ONCE!!! "2 GOOD 2 BE TRUE"!! ALSO TALKED FOR 2 HOURS IN A HOUSE & NO PROBLEMS.WALMART WAS THE WORST WITH RECEPTION AS FOR THE STORES.(I FOUND KEEPING IT STRAIGHT UP WAS A PLUS, WHEN I HIT A RECEPTION PROBLEM)(GOT MORE BARS THAT WAY)I ALSO HAD PLENTY OF TALK TIME LEFT ON MY BATTERY AFTER TALKING 4 OVER 3 HOURS STRAIGHT. THE PHONE DIDN'T GET HOT EITHER, LIKE SOME PHONES DO. I NEVER TURN MY PHONE OFF & I'M ON IT ALL THE TIME & THE BATTERY JUST KEEPS ON GOING & GOING!! I"VE HAD THIS PH 4 OVER 7 MONTHS & IT WAS A GREAT CHOICE 4 ME.THE VOICE DIALING IS REALLY COOL & SO IS THE AUTO LOCK, U CAN SET IT 2 LOCK AUTOMATICALLY IN A MINUTE,OR 5 MINUTES.U CAN DOWNLOAD(BY TEXT MSGING)10 MORE RING TONES FROM AT&T'S SIGHT. IF U USE SOMEONE OTHER THAN AT&T, I BELIEVE U CAN DOWNLOAD THRU THE INTERNET. THE WAY IT ALL LIGHTS UP IS PRETTY NEAT TOO.HOPE U HAVE AS MUCH LUCK WITH IT AS I DO.THIS IS A TDMA PHONE. NO GSM IN OUR AERA FOR AWHILE YET.
31 Not that great
This phone was a huge upgrade from the crummy reception I got with the Nokia 8260. I bought this as a Suncom AT&T customer. A lot of people are providing reviews based on their service plan or what is offered under their plan rather than reviewing the quality of this phone. First of all, if you're a Suncom subscriber, you should know that Suncom/AT&T does not support downloadable ring tones. The only way to get ring tones and games is to download them from Nokia.com. This phone has a feature that allows you to browse java games and download thm, but that feature is not available in the Suncom/AT&T network. If your provider is Suncom, you can only get ringtones from suncom.com, which has a crummy collection. I tried to buy a ringtone from nokia.com and found out I couldn't even use it unless I bought it from Suncom. It has some really fun games on it, but it would be nice if you could download more. At this time, Suncom doesn't offer any games for download.

As for quality, the TDMA network is very clear. My phone sounds great and calls don't hang or disconnect like they did on suncom's old network. I very rarely have dropped calls or poor reception. The only problem with the TDMA network however is that it will most likely be replaced or switched in a few years.

As for the phone, one problem is the keylock. When the keys are locked, the screen is not backlit. If you receive a call and want to unlock your keys, you have to do it in the dark, because the backlight does not come on until the keys are unlocked. It also takes two buttons to lock it as opposed to simply holding down the end key like Nokia's past phones.

As others have said, there is no IR port on this phone. You have to enter in all your contact numbers manually, which can take forever. One nice feature of the phone though is that it finally stores seperate entries for people based on work numbers, home, and mobile. No more having to create two seperate entries in your phone book for "John Cell" and John Home."

The ringtones sound excellent. I'll never go back to monophonic tones again. Although some of them are a little out there. Aside from the Nokia ring tone, almost all the ring tones are songs. The generic "ring ring" literally sounds like a phone from the 1930s. You can not get a normal sounding ring tone on this phone at all. The vibration features are kind of phone though because the vibration is synched to the tune of the ringer.

Definately not the best phone out there, but since there are not too many choices with Suncom and AT&T right now, it's one of the only decent options available. I would recommend the Nokia 6560 over this phone. Even though AT&T does not offer Synch capability, the phone at least has an IR port on it so maybe you can use it in the future.

32 Problematic
I've had nothing but problems with this phone for 6 months.
The biggest problems is that the phone has to be powercycled every 24hours or else all calls go straight to voice mail. AT&T told me that the phone's memory gets bogged down if it's not powercycled at least everyday. I've had other phones, and never heard of this problem. I don't get that many calls, and my call volume has not increased since my last phone.

Other problems, the battery has deteriorated fast. I do fully drain my battery before recharging it and was sure to do it for my first few recharges, but my battery still sucks. It's especially problematic because the battery meter is inaccurate. I will go from 4/7 bars to 2/7 bars in 30 min in standby.

There are so many other options these days, so don't get this phone.

33 Great phone, only one problem
I love this phone. It's a little bigger than my last phone, but easier to handle and use. The color screen is very readable. Reception is excellent, sound quality is excellent.

My only complaint is the contact list. The contact list is great as far as the amount of information you can store. There is room for hundreds of phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, notes, etc. The only problem is that this doesn't synchronize with anything. So you have to ask yourself how much time you want to invest in developing a portable database that is captive on this phone. This is not a problem unique to this phone, but to all phones that don't synch with anything. When I got this phone I spent several hours just transferring over phone numbers from my old phone. And I know that some day I'll have to do the same thing when I'm switching from the 3560 to something else. As I see it, this is the only down side to this phone, and the only reason I give it 4 stars rather than 5.

34 The Perfect Cell For Me,No Complaints!
I must say that I was very impressed when I bought this nifty lil color phone for $150 from Suncom/AT&T.Since Im so used to flip phones,I wasnt sure that I could get easily adjusted to this handheld type, but I already have and im glad I stopped buying those flimsy lil flips, which I always drop. The 3560 has it all including a brilliant full color screen with many wallpapers,a very easy to use menu,a finger spot to hold your phone in place(on the back)and buttons that are just the right size, along with an internal antenna!Reception and service are absolutely excellent with this phone,it's crystal clear and is much better than any other brand in my opinion. The battery life is simply amazing with 6 1/2hrs of talk time and 9 1/2 days standby!WOW, beat that Motorola! Now that I have purchased this Nokia,im definetly sticking with this wonderful manufacturer. The only thing that this phone doesnt have (which isnt a big deal)is a camera. No other brands compare to the precision of Nokia, they are the future in cellular communications.Im very satisfied with this phone and I think you will be too,I highly recommend the 3560!
35 Great phone!
This phone was free for signing up with AT&T (which by the way has been great: strong reception, no hidden charges..) and I highly recommend it if you want a straightforward phone and aren't so interested in gaming and e-mail/web stuff. The color screen is nice and big, the keypad works great for text messaging, and the ring tones are fine. I haven't found them too loud, instead I set a few different profiles with varying volumes for when I'm inside/outside.
One great thing is on the back of the phone there's a little rubber thingy to rest your finger on when you're talking.
Overall I'm very pleased with AT&T and this phone...AT&T sometimes offers web deals where you can sign up with this phone and get a car charger and case for it as well.
36 Not bad for the price
I have two of these (one for me, one for my wife) and generally speaking we're pretty impressed. The screen is bright and clear and the features are pretty neat. We got both for free with our new phone plan. The ringer is loud but I like it that way because I often drive with the window open or in my Jeep with no top on. The only downsides are 1) There was no belt clip included 2) the screen was scratched within a couple days of use and that's a downside to this style of phone - the screen is out in the open ready to be scratched. I do miss my flip phone but this isn't bad. 3) The features are cool but be aware that apparently this phone is so new that ATT doesn't provide any way to download new games. Nokia doesn't even list this phone on their website for ATT.

All in all I like the phone, especially since it was free.

37 Amazing!
This phone is so amazing! I cannot believe all that it can do and its great durability. I have been with this phone for one whole year and I absolutely love it. THANK YOU!!!
38 Too Loud!
Personally, I love this phone. I have it, and it's amazing. The colors are awsome, and you get to really personalize it. I picked a backround called "the sea" and it's really awesome to see a beautiful sea in the backround while I'm dialing a number or something. The ringtones are really cool, and the applications they have are wonderful. I can convert celsius to farenheit, or vice versa. I can convert many other things such as currency. They also have a money portfolio, but I don't really use it. The only faults I find with it are its volume and games. I was listening to the ringtones once, and put the phone next to my ear. It played this one super loud note, and my ear went deaf, for like, 5 minutes. The games,I find, get easily tiring, and the instructionsto play them are too complex. Also, the music they play with the games is loud and irritating, so I turned the sound off for games. Besides those things, I absolutely adore this phone!
