Nokia 3595 Phone (T-Mobile)

Compras Nikon
Bluetooth
1 the worst possible phone on earth...
if there is a -5 black star, i would use it to rate this phone.

I got this phone as a "free" package for T-Mobile. First of all, the phone commands are sluggish, not extremely sluggish, but enough to drive me crazy. The responsiveness is terrible, can't be worse, especially when I want to go to the contact list, it just takes forever.

Secondly, the buttons are horrible as they simply don't work well, especially the connected pad of 8 and 0. This button is placed so close to the inner palm (eventhough I have a relatively small hand) that makes it very hard to dial with the thumb. And the 0 button doesn't work, i have to press it at least 10 times before I can get the 0. This is especially annoying when I have to use dial a pin number.

The third and most annoying thing is the sim-card problem: everytime I recevied a SMS message, it went crazy: "Insert your simcard". I literrally threw it many times in anger and fell like killing somebody from Nokia.

I don't know how such bad phone can be released out for consumers, is there any quality-testing before hand? I have enough craziness from Windows already (eventhough windows XP pro with SP2 is so far the best Microsft-made OS), i don't need any other crap from Nokia.

I wish I can throw away my phone now. No-Go for this Nokia crap.
2 Great Starter Phone
Look Bottom line This is a very relible phone... I have had this for almost 4 years now and I still love it, it works perfectly fine, other than the regular bugs. The buttons being connected w/ each other is a good thing too because the 8,0 buttons can be depressed and used for an emergency call so I love the phone, its a simple and easy phone... Great usage out of it, and its still goin the batt works very well too, lasts for 8 days, and a good 6 hours on a call so Im happy with the phone... I have encountered the sim card problem from time to time, but other than it being annoying, its an easy fix... so reguardless of that Im very happy with the phone its relible and I would buy it again if I had to
3 eh
I've had this phone for about 6 months and I haven't had any problems. It's a good phone and it does what you need it to...but that's about it. If all you plan to do is call people and make the occasional message, this is fine. Otherwise, it's a little dull.
4 BEWARE OF 3595!!!
PROS-cant think of that many
CONS-see below

i got the nokia 3595 about a year ago. it was my first celly and for the first 3 months it worked pretty good. but then i started encountering problems. first off, i wouldn't recieve my calls i would get the little thing that said i had about 3 voice mail and my phone would not ring once (and yes it WAS on). next was the problem of it going on silent. i go to high school and when i go to school in the morning i would put my phone on "silent mode" so it would vibrate instead of ringing. and there would be times that my phone would ring in class (why would someone want 2 call me during school hours?? but thats not the point). my point being that when my phone is put on silent mode, it gets an additude and starts to ring, even if i did change the ringing options in the settings menu. but then the weirdest thing would happen...when i would put my phone on "normal" it would vibrate as if it was on silent...go figure..

another problem i would encounter is receiving text messages. when i would go to read a text message the message would be blank. then it would switch me back to the main screen and all of my signal bars would be gone and it would say at the top "Insert SIM Card". other times i would get text messages and i would read them and when i would go back to the main screen and that stupid envelope icon would still be there as if i didn't read the message. and it would take a couple days for it to go away too.

yet another problem is the reception. im not sure if its the phone to blame or its the service or maybe a little bit of both. but i could be in a place where on any normal day i would have 100% reception and then on a certain day my signal bar would barely be there. my bedroom is a good example, for the most part i get good reception in there but then there are the days that my phone gives me additude and i cant make a call from there. or i could be in a place like in the mall and everyone else had a signal on their phone except for me of course.

one more problem that i must list is that my nokia 3595 has the tendency to black out spontaneously or freeze. i would be in the middle of doing something and my phone would just freeze up. it wouldn't even turn off. i would have to take the battery out and pop it back in if i wanted to get my phone working again. or other times when someone would be calling me and before i would answer my phone or right after i would press the answer key my phone would black out for about 10 seconds and i would be back at the main screen and it would say "Insert SIM Card".

this phone has many more problems that i have yet to list (such as battery, calls being dropped, and the phone's ugly design) because my fingers are simply too tired from writing this long horrible review. im not sure if they even sell this phone anymore (if they dont i wonder why???), but if they do, i warn you strongly not to get it. this phone is lousy and i am sooo thankful that i have upgraded 2 my new samsung!!! im sorry for anyone that has to put up with this phone.
5 Can't even get all my calls...
This phone barely works and most of the time I don't recieve my incoming calls and messages, even with perfect reception. It's either the phone or the service, but either one sucks and no one should have to put up with this when you're paying $50 a month for service you can't even use! Stay away from T-Mobile, go with Cingular instead. Trust me.
6 Wierdly durable
I got this phone free with my plan and I hate it!!!! It has a crappy screen. It is color which was an upgrade from my Nokia 3510 but not good. The keypad is uncomfortable to use and gets annoying. The bottom line is that if you want a phone that will just make calls and is cost efficient get this one if not find another one there are a lot out there. There is a plus side I washed this phone in the washing machine with my jeans and all I had to do was dry it of and it worked fine that is amazing!!!
7 A decent phone by Nokia, but nothing special
This is a very good phone for anyone who is a Nokia fan or who doesn't want anything fancy. It will call people and receive calls. It has a color screen, downloadable ring tones and games, and has a decent audio quality. There is no camera or bluetooth or advanced organization tools. It is growing increasingly outdated and by a year from now hardly anybody will be using it anymore, but if you own this phone I wouldn't go running to throw it out just yet. It gets the job done, but isn't going to wow you in the process.
8 Don't waste your money!
I've had this phone for nearly a year now, and really have no clue why I still have the thing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Today I've decided to let the Nokia people (and T-mobile) see the way I feel...since they basically told my Wife to "just deal with it" and "this is what happens after nearly a year". I'm on my way to the pay-phone now, so let's see if I get a new phone for free... In summary, this phone is a POS!
9 COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY
My screen turns blue and black a lot, and then comes back when it wants. The screen display turns upside down and the characters switch around, and again comes back when it wants. It calls sometimes. It rings sometimes. People would call me and ask where I was, and I wouldn't even know they called. Not one good thing about it.

Not a good buy, do not waste your money.

The past 2 nokia phones I have had, I have been unhappy with. I will not continue throwing my money away to nokia.
10 Great phone
This is a great phone. It is easy to use, its cheap, and it has a color screen. The keys may look wierd, but its easy to get used to. Also, it may feel cheap because of the easy to change covers, but its pretty durable. Ive dropped mine with no repurcussions. But yea, I get great reception, sound quality/volume is great, and there's fun games to download.

The only problem I've had is that sometimes, when I'm checking my messages, it wont show the message, then it will say 'Insert SIM Card', and I'll have to restart the phone.

11 Basic Inexpensive Phone
Having switched from AT&T, the sales person at TMobile talked me into getting the Nokia 3595. I wanted a bar phone that had good battery and good reception. This was the phone that was recommended.

After several months, I'm now shopping for a tri-band or quad-band phone for travel.

This single band phone (1900 Mhz only) is basically a free phone for teens and housewives. In all fairness, the signal quality is fairly good. Voice quality is fairly good.

My only complaints are the single frequency, and when I get a voice mail is sends me a text message saying I have voice mail. Not a voicemail notification, but an actual text message.
12 worst phone ever
I am on my second 3595 (they actually replaced one for free) and it's worst than the first one. The first one just had the keypad stop working. This second one plays all sorts of games, the keys work sometimes, it rings sometimes, it drops calls sometimes, it calls people on it's own, it's a terrible phone and I hate it. I'd take whatever else they offer before taking this one, which is free if you have been a customer for a long time or if you are new, for me it cost $40 because even though my service has been with them for more than 5 years, my contract started over when I moved for some reason.
13 Really disappointed
I am really disappointed with this phone. I paid around $80 for this phone as an upgrade. Now I'm thinking I should have shelled out some more money for a better phone. I've got to admit that in my area, the reception is EXCELLENT. But this phone is really terrible, IMHO. It constantly freezes up (like a computer) throughout the day (rendering the power button useless at this point), and I'm forced to take out the battery, then put it back in just to turn it off. Sometimes, it randomly says "Phone restricted" and frankly I'm really fed up with this phone. One of my friends has the same exact problems as me. I wonder if it's just a bad batch of phones or what? The next phone I buy will most likely not be a Nokia.
14 A Poor Nokia Choice
I am really quite dissapointed with this unit. I *DO* have to admit that the battery life is really quite good - no complaints there. But lots of complaints in other places. I, also, received this phone from T-Mobile as an "Upgrade". As someone else already stated, it is most certainly a Downgrade. We are having a little more luck with it now, though, after finally getting one Customer Service Rep who told us that the phone will work much much better with an upgraded SIM card, which they were willing to give us for free. It seems that the older SIM cards have problems with this phone - bad reception (We could not talk on our phones in our apartment unless we stood IN the bathtub or in the klitchen, pressed hard up against the fridge). With the new SIM cards we now can often talk in many spots at home. Also, we no longer have the SIM card slipping issue (yes, even though it is under the battery, the SIM card in this phone DOES slip, and can constantly give no service, just the annoying "Insert SIM Card" text. Upgrading our SIM card did seem to fix this.
However, the keys stink. Ocassionally they stick down (for me, especially the '*', when I try to unlock the phone, and that annoying tone sounds until you can get it unstuck. On the other hand, it also often skips letters when you are trying to type in a text message. You KNOW you typed all the letters of that word, but they just aren't there and you need to go back and re-type them. And I agree about the Find Contacts problem other people mentioned. The Ringtones are also dissapointing. I was looking forward to finally getting some of those cool "polyphonic" ringtones (T-Mobile calles them "Megatones". Are these different from polyphonic?). Even the ones you pay 99 cents for and download online are mostly dissapointing. Half of the songs don't even sound like the songs they're supposed to be.
All in all, if you are considering a few different phones, I would strongly suggest you are likely to be happier with a different unit. I am dissapointed with both T-Mobile and Nokia for this one.
(One additional note: One Rep told us that reception can greatly imporve if you make sure to power-down your phone at least once a day. This re-sets something. Not sure if this really does make a difference or not, but I have been doing that now - I figgure for very little effort it might have some benefits.)
15 One word : efficiency
This phone has amazing battery life, in fact, it's better than my home phone. If left unused the phone can survive for up to two weeks or more in my experience, and even if you're a heavy talker you may only need to recharge it about once a week.

The reception is great too, and the only times that I've received bad reception is with someone who's either not using a home phone or not using a great cell phone like this one.

My one complaint is that it is for the most part just a basic cell phone. It has some games and is compatible with T-zones, it's color, but that's about what every other cell phone can do. The resolution isn't anything speacial, and the design can be a bit irritating (i.e. the keypad). If none of this is important to you though, I would imagine that this phone would be perfect. It's compact and does everything that a cell phone SHOULD.

16 My Graduation Gift
I'm a 14 year old and I recieved my nokia 3595 on May 14 as a graduation gift from middle school. I've always had nokias but this one is the best yet. I get great reception where ever I'm at and battery life is good. It has cool ringtones on it to like holiday and beach. The keypad is very cool and easy to use as a matter of fact most of the time im instant messaging people wit the IM feature on the phone or I'm just playing with it. Parents i recommend this phone to you if you are looking for a great phone for your teens and with T-Mobile you do get more for less. The only thing I didnt like is that the phone came in a ugly brown faceplate which was replaced the day after i got the phone with a new faceplate. There are other faceplate styles you can get also if you don't like the keypad but over all its a great phone for teens who dont drop their phones for fun. Because I've dropped my phone before and nothing happened to it (but of course it was dropped on carpet!!!) Its also alot ways to keep your phone on your side so you dont have to worry about dropping it.
17 My Baby
Im a teenager 14 years old and i like the Nokia 3595 very much. Iwas so happy when i got it because it had a color screen and internet and other thins. I can't keep it out of my hand and i see myself playing with it more than using it to make a call this is a great phone for teens.
18 Thank You Catherine Zeta Jones!
I love my Nokia 3595. T-Mobile offered it for free. "Get More" is their advertising slogan. Catherine Zeta Jones' wonderful TV ads convinced me to explore their wireless service. When I went on-line they were offering the Nokia 3595 free with a years'contract. I have now had my Nokia 3595 for a couple of months now and am very pleased with my new phone. It looks great with its hip design. I absolutely love the keypad. Reception has been great as well. I haven't had any problems.....Hey people....Get More...Choose T-Mobile, and the Nokia 3595.
19 Inexpensive & Dependable
I bought this phone about 6 months ago to replace a Motorola phone that I hated (poor reception, short battery life, limited options, etc.) This phone is great!!! I no longer have reception problems and have not changed service provider. The battery lasts at least twice as long and the optional services are endless in comparison.
20 It works pretty well for its cost
I have been using this phone for an year. Came to Amazon to hunt for a new one. Overall its a pretty good phone. The reception is great compared to others like Motorola. The keyboard takes sometime getting used to.

One of the main problems was the "Sim Card Not Ready" message. I had to reinsert the sim card a couple of times. Also, its not a tri-band.

But other than that Nokia has done a pretty good work on this phone. I would reccomend it to anyone who is looks for a normal no frill phone that is easy to carry in you trouser pockets (not shirt).

21 Why Is Everyone Complaining About A Great Phone?
I have this is prepaid (I can't find out where you put a review) and its great. I had a Motorola V66 and that was the biggest mistake ever. You can barely read it and its kinda cheap, and now color phones are better. Anyways, so after that other phone got some rain damage, this was the cheapest prepaid one, so I thought I might as well try it. Yes, the brownish goldish faceplate isnt the prettiest but I might get a better looking one soon, and the brown isnt THAT bad. Within a day I got used to the keyboard, and the backlighting of the keyboard is brilliant. I've seen some phones with better color, but this has lots of colors, and its definately better than a non-colored phone. The IM doesnt work on my phone, I think because its prepaid, but that doesnt really matter. The ringtones and wallpapers are soo cool, since my last phone couldnt get them. I love this phone and TOTALLY would suggest you get it.
22 Sure it looks pretty, but does it work?
I was recently sent this phone by T-Mobile since the old Nokia I had was beginning to act up. At first, I was excited because of the color screen but after three months, I am on Amazon.com looking for a new phone. Whats the problem? well for starters, the key pad is just plain annoying when you try and text message. Sometimes the keys don't work unless you press really hard and they get confusing since they are spaced so close to each other. Also, the phone looses all reception and says "enter SIM card" on the front. My sim card is in! At first I thought it was just me and my bad luck with technology but a lot of my friends have the same phone and theirs do the exact same thing. Ironically enough, this always happens in the middle of a really exciting conversation or a flurry of text messages. Come on, I'm a teenager, this thing is practically my lifeline! It is extremely annoying when it suddenly decides to stop working. Don't get me wrong, there are a few good things about it, like the ability to stay on for four days without needing to be recharged, the fun ring tones, the color screen and the little blue rubber thingy on the back (which, by the way, constantly falls off). So I had to tell y'all, there are better phones out there, like the Samsung E105 and the Nokia 3390 is probably the most dependable phone out there (and doesn't break no matter how many times you drop it on the sidewalk!)so please reconsider before you get this phone, it looks kinda cool, despite the ugly brown face plate, but it doesn't work very well.
23 Great phone but strange keypad
I switched to Nokia phones years ago after using Motorola phones for a long time. Motorola always had great features but were not as practical for using as a telephone. Nowdays every bell and whistle is being put on cell phones including cameras, games, internet, mini-keyboards, PC connectivity, etc. What I really want is a simple phone that is not too big and not too complex to just grab quickly and use. I also want it to be small enough to put in my pocket but not so small you get hand cramps trying to hold onto it for a long conversation. I also want to have enough connectivity to add important features such as handsfree devices, speakerphone, and an easy charge plug design. Finally the phone must have a good battery life. The last thing you want to do is to have to charge the phone after every conversation.

Overall the 3595 seems to be a simple and effective phone with most of the most important features I mentioned previously that you need in a phone. The battery life is excellent (up to six hours continuous talk time without running out). It has a few other nice features such as large but simple color screen, internet connectivity, games, calendar with alarm, auto-update of date and time, etc.

On the negative side the phone does not have as good quality of a color screen as most newer phones. It does not have some of the advanced features other phones have such as a camera, PC integration capability, or a built in speakerphone. My single biggest problem with the 3595 phone is the unconvential keypad design. It can be confusing for the new user or some users used to previous cell phones until they get used to the different placement of the keypad numbers. I called Nokia about this problem and even asked them if they had 3560 keypads (which use a more common layout) that they could sell so I could swap out (it is very easy to change it) and replace it. The Nokia representative acted as if he had heard this complaint before and told me the part was not available or in stock at Nokia USA. Nokia is supposedly aware that many people prefer a convential key pad and they are supposedly working on a replacement key pad option for those people for the future. On a positive note I have already adapted to the newer but unconventional 3595 keypad very quickly and I myself find that I no longer have a problem with using it.

Pros:
Simple and effective cell phone design and size (except for - the keypad) makes it easy to use and carry in your pocket
Great reception (using GSM model)
Good ear speaker (loud and clear to listen to)
Easy to use as a phone
Very Durable
Extremely long battery life
Internet and instant message capable
Large and easily readable color screen
A number of accessories available for this model
Headsets and Charge plug accessory designs are great
Has the most essential features without being too complicated

Cons:
New keypad design can be difficult for some people to use
Color Screen resolution is less than many newer color phones
Lacks some of latest advanced features of other cell phones:
No built in speakerphone
No camera
No PC data connectivity (via USB or other)
No Bluetooth data connectivity

Conclusion: If you are looking for a simple, inexpensive, durable, well designed phone with some good advanced features, a great battery life, and with good reception (using GSM model) then this is your phone. If the unconvential keypad bothers you try it for a while and if you still don't like it find a 3560 model keypad to replace it or wait a few months for Nokia's replacement solution.

If you want more bells and whistles or want more than just a great cell phone for making and receiving calls then I suggest you look at the more advanced Nokia phones such as the 6200 which has has more advanced features with a conventional keypad in a similar Nokia non-flip design package. If you still are unhappy and must have almost every latest gadget then look at Motorola's V300 or V400 small flip phone designs which have the bells and whistles but they are less durable, have shorter battery lives, and are not as simple to use as just telephones. I actually also own the more fragile Motorola V400 which I really do enjoy but I opt to use my more durable Nokia 3595 for constant everyday use.

24 It awesome!!!!
I love this. It good for me to use this for communication with friends and family with messege on it. I am so sure that Deaf people will love this because we needed communcation. Thanks!!!
25 NOKIA 3595 WITH T-MOBILE SERVICE PLAN
I JUST PURCHASED THIS PHONE AND I LOVE IT! WORKS VERY WELL INSIDE THE HOME. I LIVE IN NYC AND MY V66 MOTOROLA WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY FOR ME. THE SOUND IS EXCEPTIONALLY LOUDER AND CLEARER THAN OTHER CELL PHONES.I CANT FIND ONE NEGATIVE THING ABOUT THIS NOKIA, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING IT. SO MUCH BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!
26 Good for its time
As we all know, cell phones are almost as bad as PC's with how quickly they become obsolete. I got this phone several months ago, and it was a good deal at $50 because it had a color screen. Now, if you do your research you can get a better phone for free. Here are the pros and cons that I have noticed in my experience with the phone:

Pros:
* The little blue rubber finger thingie in the back is very comfortable (however, read the cons below!)
* The keys seem wierd, but after a small adjustment period, they are actually better (more comfortable, even with text messaging) than other phones I've used
* Reception is good - I know this is part phone quality because I had the same provider with a crappier phone and reception was much worse
* Good amount of features for the price (I'm not going to list them all - check out the specs if you want to know)
* Battery life is good - I a few hundred minutes a month (400 - 700) and it takes 3-4 days to run out of battery
* Although resolution is smaller than newer phones, it can be easier to read because the font is larger
* Ring tones are nice but I don't ever use them - I think it's annoying when someone has their ring turned up to level 99999 just to show off their ring tone
* Contrast is good - the other guy that complained about this either has a bad phone or needs some vision correction :O)
* Weight - it is lighter than most other phones in its class
* Skydiver! I don't play the other games - not much of a backgammon fan

Cons:
* The little blue rubber finger thingie falls off very easily! You can superglue it back on, if you don't lose it like I did!
* Size - other phones that are smaller are available for cheaper now
* Lower LCD resolution may be a downside if you like the tinier, more defined font of newer phones
* None of the fancier new doohickeys that more expensive phones have (camera, IR port, speakerphone, etc.) but then again, it's cheaper - you get what you pay for!
* The search thing in the contacts is kind of annoying - you can press the first letter of the entry to get to it, but if you press "J", it will only show the entries that start with "J" and not K and L until you press the #5 key more than once
* The ugly brown faceplate they give you by default (this may have changed?) - I refuse to pay an extra $20 just to get a decent-looking faceplate off the Nokia webpage! You know they give you the ugly color so you'll be forced to buy a better one.

A few words about other people's reviews... What do you mean it has no SIM card?! Of course it does. And one person complained about the SIM card sliding out... how can that happen when the battery is holding it in?! The volume range is great - it's not LOUD on the lowest setting - it's perfect on medium and if you're standing on the street you don't even need it up all the way. I have never had problems with my SIM card, freezing, nor the time being off as jack123487 had (a good example of a person getting a single bad product and generalizing this experience). The case is actually very UNslippery and quite grippy - haven't you ever held those phones with the glossy, slippery paint? Although the phone is light, it feels quite sturdy. The main thing to keep in mind is that most of the service problems people are complaining about have nothing to do with the phone - it is the service provider!

27 great phone for the price
This is a great phone for the price, and actually a great phone overall. It has many features including a color screen, voice activated dialing, and Nokia quality, for free! If you want a camera phone, or a phone with a higher resolution, go pay the higher price!

This phone, combined with the superior T-Mobile service is a great deal!

28 it's a nice phone
im a 17 year old girl so my phones have got to be pretty durable. this one works just great. i cant tell you how many potentially-dibilitating drops this phone has faithfully withstood, or how many times its been abused in the crushing atmosphere at the bottom of my purse yet manages to work fine. i've had it for a few months now and i havent had any problems thus far. im not crazy about it's size; it's larger than its predecessor (the one without a color screen) but then again, it's a good phone- which compensates nicely for it's larger size. i like the ringtones you can download; they come out good on the phone. right now i've downloaded sexual healing, freebird, santeria, and drive. they all sound pretty good comparitively speaking. i love this phone. you should get it too. :)
29 Over time it falls apart
When i first got this phone i thought great! finally a good nokia phone but after awhile it's true colors came out...the SIM card started sliding out on it's own and the finger grip on the back fell off!!!! not to mention the nokia sticker on the front is sliding off too the ringtones basically suck and it takes forever to load anything i wouldn't recommend this phone to anybody it's more trouble then it's worth....even if it's free it cost tooooo much
30 Excellent look and nice performance!
The NOKIA 3595 color phone is very reliable. The cell battery lasts a long time, even with constant game usage! The games, they are GREAT! Many features are on this phone and I find the cell phone batter and signal voice features a great tool. This phone is SLEEK and DURABLE...all for a GREAT PRICE!* I love this phone because many people have it, which makes me fit in; there are easy to use features and an EXCELLENT signal! Always!

*Depends on your phone service company.

31 REALLY GREAT PHONE
I recently purchased this phone and simply love it. It is very easy to use and has great features. This is the kind of phone I would also suggest purchasing for your child. If you are looking for a really fancy phone with every feature, I would advise you not to but this phone but otherwise go ahead!!!
32 Nice Color - not the greatest buttons
I upgraded from my old Nokia and the process was seamless.
I enjoy the color screen. I don't enjoy the buttons so much.
Some of the numbers on the key pad share the same "rocker" button and it is easy to mis-dial. www.jafguitar.com
Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the sound and graphics.
That's why I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.
33 Nokia 3390 to Nokia 3595 is NOT an upgrade
I'm a T-Mobile customer. I've had my Nokia 3390 for about 1&1/2 years. I started having battery life issues, so I called T-Mobile to get a new battery. They offered me an "upgrade" to the Nokia 3595 for less than the cost of a new battery on the 3390. That being said, this phone is a definite DOWNGRADE for me. The 3390 had distinctive ring tones with dozens of songs to choose from. The volume was adjustable to an appropriate level for both the ringer and the headset. The 3595 is OBNOXIOUS. If you're a gadgets person, you'll love it. The keypad is whacked. The lowest volume level is LOUD. I have distortion issues with the earpiece that came with the phone. I now only have about 6 different ringtones to choose from. In addition, the 3390 kept your address book as a continuous list. On the 3595, if you type "S", you can only view those entries that begin with an "S". Too many buttons, menus and mass confusion. F
34 Buy it for the looks that it gets you..
I got the Nokia 3650 about 7 months back and I must say this is the best phone I can think of right now.
I first got the phone because of its looks but then when I got it, it has so many features that makes this phone stand out. It has almost all the features of a PDA plus the camera is very very good. I took this phone when I went to India and everyone just loved this phone.
The voice quality is very good and it even gets the signal with the poorest signal strength. This I can state with some degree of confidence because I have been to buildings where a sony-ericsson would not get the signal but a nokia would.
Also, its a very solid phone because I have dropped it quite a few number of times but it works perfectly fine till date.
I love to flaunt my phone because it has the looks plus it provides you with awesome service.
35 It Doesn't Have Everything But It Has What You Need
I find this to be a unique phone: you can keep it as is out of the box or adorn it with "goodies". I have three 3595s (W/O any problems so far) and reading the User's Guide is helpful. If you're like me I use the guide basically explain of the phone's capabilities. Then the playing begins! Obviously, some phone accessories depend upon your service provider. For example I use the "regular" 3595 phone functions but I also have Web access, International calling, Bank by Phone, polyphonic ringtones and backgrounds. I still believe that Nokia makes great products so I've added shares to my stock portfolio.

I miss the direct Ira function and the enhanced Nokia PC software package available for my 3360. The no. keys are an initial challenge to learn and the letters on the keys are small.
Overall, I find this phone to be adaptible, very light and fun to use. Is it perfect? What is?

36 Why are Nokia models not as good as before?
This Nokia phone does have a color screen, is nice, and is cool. Yet, since there is no antenna, It gets no signal in a lot of places. Also when you recieve a text message, you aren't notified until a few days later!!
37 Solid phone, lacks extra features
I have had this phone for a few months, and it isnt living up to the things that I need. I am a tech freak, and this phone isnt capable enough. However, it is a solid phone, suitable for people who want to make calls with a few neat apps but little else. The phone is well made, with a good screen and functional keypad, albeit with an awkward design. Very functional. Battery lasted for a long time before I had to recharge it. It is a good phone for people who dont need much from a phone.
38 For your well-being, DO NOT purchase this phone
I have owned 5 different cell phones and this one takes the cake as the worst of them all. Not only did I return it for a Samsung after 5 months, I also sold my stock in Nokia because I could not hold shares in a company that manufactured such poor quality products.
For one, the SIM card would not register and I would have to disasemble the phone and put it back together again (a weekly occurance)
Two, the time would always be 4 minutes off, yes I would reset it and still, 4 minutes off.

THree, the phone would freeze up on me for hours at a time or unitl I shut it off and turned it back on again.
I have two other friends that have the SIM card issue and the freezing problem.
Please do not purchase this phone.

39 Very Mediocre Phone
Having lived with the 3595 for several months now, I feel ready to describe it. To start, this is my first cellular. First the good, the buttons, though they look strange, are big enough where it is easy to not mis-dial. The screen is adequate and the phone is lightweight.

Now that I've got that out of the way . .. They made this phone with the slipperiest plastic that they could find. There are a few effects from this poor choice. When trying to rest the phone on my shoulder and talk, It invariable shoots out between my neck and ear across the room. There is about a 1" diameter rubber circle on the back of the phone which is supposed to grip, but I never can balance that just right on my shoulder. So your hands will always be tied up using this phone, or you'll have to use the included ear bud. The more damaging effect of the ultra slick casing is that it slips out of pockets very very easily. My first phone happened to do this a store when I sat down, and was subsequently stolen (At Babies R' Us by an employee as it turns out!). You probably should go ahead and by a few of these because you will likely lose one or two.

This phone is not without it's bugs either. About once a month the phone stops working (Sometimes in the middle of a conversation) and gives a SIM card error. This requires taking apart the phone (It's real fun trying to pull the super slippery plastic pieces apart) removing the battery, removing the SIM card and reassembling the phone.

Also, the buttons are somewhat unresponsive. Dial, will often take a few tries. However, the hang up button is ultra sensitive, so be prepared to hang up on your friends often. The phone is too lightweight, it feels insignificant and cheap. An okay phone if they give it away for free with your plan, other than that AVOID IT!!!

40 Horrible
The 3595 is a a cheap, lousy phone. I am returning mine. The voice quality is horrible. I hear a constant hum in my ear, and people say that I sound like I have something in my mouth.
41 Same old twist on a new phone
This is a great phone don't get me wrong however it's just the same old thing as all the phones go. They give you alittle more and you buy it and 2 weeks later you'll wish you had not!!
You'll find this phone lacking in Polyphonic ring tone quality and even the low connection quality in areas where you may need it most. Disney world all over the resort areas I was unable to use it. In downtown Pheonix I could not get a thing. In Penn at Hersey Park forget it not a bit of signal. The Jersey Shore the same thing. I did get great signal in Philly and in Tampa FL. I would go for the the T722 from Motorola or even something else with more screen and better quality. Just my opinion take it or leave it as you like.
42 AT&T Wireless Nokia 3595
This phone is a good phone for the price you pay.But if you couple it with ATT the marriage is a not a good one.The signal fades out with out any reason,i cant pick the signal in my bedroom so if the call is an important one i have to get out of my apt. Some times the voice mail shows up like a day after it was up.The worst part is when i have to make a call and the service says "all circuits are busy please try your call later".I guess its the service rather than the phone i am not sure may be a mix of the two.So think.........before you take this combo.(ATT Nokia 3595)
43 An average phone
It's not a top notch phone, but it got it's own goods.

The Good:

- Great reception (Got clear calls even in the basement)
- Cool keypad design and lighting (That's why I always want to show it to people with the lights turned on)
- Nice polyphonic ring tones
- Sturdy (I dropped it several times it still works great)
- Games are fun (I really like the glider, bowling and flying ribbon)

The Bad:
- Bulky (But for guys its ok....)
- Low volume ring tone (I have missed countless calls because the ring volume is just too low for me even I set it at max.
- No vibration alarm (I really like a vibration alarm when you need it at the public place)
- You can set only one alarm
- Low LCD resolution (Some of the wallpapers really don't look good)
- The included earbud does not have a button. So you have to press the key pad to enable voice dialing.
- Not enough LCD contrast (Too faint in day time)
- No volume adjuster at side
- No sim card

44 Great Phone!
I got this phone about a month ago....it is great. The price was reasonable, it has great graphics, cool ring tones, colored screen, text messaging, e-mail, and so much more. It has an amazing battery life and you only have to charge it every so often. I think it is the best phone that I have ever used. If you are looking for a good, cheap, reliable phone, I strongly suggest you get this phone.
45 Horrible
I have this phone with an AT&T contract in Connecticut. I hardly have any service anywhere. If you have two or three bars of service you would think you would get your phone calls, but you don't. About 40 percent of my phone calls go straight to voice mail. Now you know why AT&T gave me this phone for free, it is total GARBAGE. My friend has cingular and has the same phone and has the same problems. DO NOT BUY THIS!
46 Fun, fabulous phone
I got this phone when I upgraded to GSM and I love it! After owning a few other phones (by different manufacturers), the Nokia 3595 shines. It's simple to use, the screen is easy to read, and the battery charge lasts much longer with this phone than with the other phones I've used. In addition, I've downloaded ringtones and graphics (Nokia provides detailed instructions which are helpful for those of us who have a lower degree of tech savy)and I've even bought a faceplate in my favorite color.

If you want a phone that is reliable, easy to use, and offers you the ability to personalize it, you might want to try the Nokia 3595.

47 Excelent phone at an excelent price
I just got this phone. The web browser is very good, the screen quality is algo very good. It has a noise-cancelling feature I found very helpful. Even in the middle of a football match, where there is a lot of shouting, I could clearly receive a phone call.
48 3595
the phone is realy good it has both gsm 1900 and 850m the ring toanes are so good and it has good rf
49 A very good and reasonable purchase
I have had this phone for a while and while it is not without a few minor drawbacks it has been a very good, reasonable cell phone.

The things I like are that it is a very good size (not too big or small) and a good weight. It feels good in my hand and I love that it doesnt have and antennae. The color screen is very nice, quite readable and large for a phone (the size difference in this phone and others is partly due to the large size of the screen). It is easy to hear this phone when it rings which I can't say about my last one.... I have three of these phones and have had only one minor mechanical issue with only one of them ( I had to reset the card one time when the phone froze). Other than that any problems have been phone service related and not phone related. It has nice features like graphics for screen saver and wallpaper...and great graphics for games.

The few problems that I see is the non-convential keypad layout is a big pain, especially when doing text messaging. You do get used to it but a conventional keypad would have been light years better. I don't think that the set up and directions are all that intuitive. Sometimes its really quite hard to find the control that your looking for and the set up for text messaging is harder than it has to be. Really these things all work out as you learn the phone but this is really the least intuitive phone I have ever owned.

All that said... the absense of significant mechanical issues is a huge plus as is the large readable display. You can learn how to use the phone but you cant make up for a poorly built unit.

50 Overall Good Phone
This is a great phone for people who don't need all the extra who-hash. I own my phone through cingular, and it works great. There are a couple thing's I don't like though

1. I can't download any games, ringtones, or wallpapers because I need some special program to get them

2. The screen and keys are only lit up for a few seconds.

I reccommend this phone especially for teens

51 A Good Reliable Phone Packed With Features
This phone is as good as the (Nokia 5190) I had replaced with the (Nokia 3595) cell phone, which is much lighter, has many more features, voice recognition, alarm clock, calculator, alarm features reminders for birthdays, business, etc.
52 Good Inexpensive Phone, but not suitable for Business use
I got this phone because it seems simple and has all the functions I would ever need. I do not need all the digcam and extra stuff that I do not use. I previous used Motorola, Samsung, and Siemens phones but I heard Nokia got a good reputation as well. I liked the Siemens phone I had which was a S46 because I used the Infrared port on it to sync address book with my PC. Reading the product description on Amazon lead me to believe one can sync this phone with PC as well over Wireless.....==>> WRONG! The so called SyncML application is only available on an enterprise level, so one needs to pay $70 per month to sync their outlook with this phone. NOT!
To make things even worse, Nokia do not have a data cable for this phone or software. There are instructions on the web on how to mod a 3590 cable and use an 3rd party software to make it work but that's just insane in this age. Clearly, Nokia designed this phone for teens and housewives but the misleading amazon description says otherwise. The phone do handle the basic function very well though.
