1 Every cell phone company has problems...
AT&T/Cingular:This poor phone is suffering from a rating that is based on some guy saying how he doesn't like AT&T. I've had issues with them too (even issues including identity theft that ended up costing me a lot of money), but I hear horror stories about all cell phone companies. One thing AT&T/Cingular does right is that they don't outsource their customer service (yet) so you can call and speak to someone who you can understand.
Phone: I've been using a 3620 for a while and have had some mixed reactions. Most people really like it, until they get upset when you sneak pictures of them. Visually it's getting to be a bit dated, it is neither small nor sleak. Performance wise, this phone does very well with signal, and I find that I can make/receive calls where other people cannot. There is a problem I have had with the battery and a friend has had the same issue with the 3650. If you set it down somewhat hard or slide your hand wrote across the battery the phone will shut off. In 14 months this has happened to me all of about 6 times during a conversation, and probably 200 times in my pocket. It's annoying to be expecting a call and realize your phone has been off for a few hours.
Recommendation: This is not a bad phone, but my recommendation is you click on the "motorola" section and get a RAZR V3 (they're only $99), they are very sleak, the camera image quality is better, more talk time, and most importantly, a firmly set battery. My brother has been using one for about 4 months and loves it.
2 Great and Powerfull Phone !!
I was using the older version the Nokia 3650 with the round keypad when I moved into my new home .. I was receiving marginal service. A friend of mine walked in with the 3620 and was able to use the phone with full bars al lover the house !! .. I switched to the 3650 and BAM !! perfect signal everywhere !! Great phone .. !!
3 Nokia 3620 - Great Phone
I bought this Nokia 3620 about a week ago. Now, I know you are thinking "Well, hasn't had enough time to really see how this phone is going to work," and you are right. I don't know if this phone will stand the test of time, but I do know a few things.
1. This phone's camera is the best that I have seen. My mom just got a Samsung E316. She paid a lot more for her phone, and the picture isn't as good.
2. The phone's big screen makes it easy to read.
3. There are quite a few menu's, but each menu item has a picture, and a caption, so you are sure what each one is. All the menu's are easy to understand. If you are in the text messaging inbox you can see who wrote you the message in bold, and then a preview of the written message below.
I will say though that not everything about this phone is great. The reception of course will vary from service to service. I can't personaly say anything about Amazon or AT&T because I bought my phone at the Suncom store, and they are who I use for service. I will say though that the speakerphone isn't all the great (people often times say they can't understand me), but when I have it on the handset they can hear me just fine. I will also say that this phone is very technical. It requires a lot of patience to learn how to work, but if you have the time, the experience will be rewarding.
So when it comes down to it, buy this phone if you want a good quality phone, that takes good pictures, has good reception, but is difficult to use, and requires a lot of patience.
4 Amazon is great.. phone is great, just say away from AT&T
WARNING: AT&T representatives ("Dawn: R361" and "Max: N360") themselves said during my troubleshooting (as detailed below) that I should NOT have bought through Amazon, and that they have received a barrage of complaints from Amazon buyers! I still really like Amazon, but they're integration with AT&T is non existent. People should not have to wait 2-3 days for service after they receive the phone. Buy the same phone on Amazon, but a different carrier.
5 Nothing special
In my opinion the phone sucks. The camera is pretty decent quality not the best i might add, the menus are annoying and make every action you try and perform a prolonged task, and the voice dialing is non existant. The video recorder is definatly not worth the space on the phone because it is a puny 10 seconds long and has incredibly bad graphics to the point the thing your video taping is non recognizable. The signal is ok in most places with the gsm from at&t (for once) but everything else isn't worth the money. the only time this phone is worth it is from a one day sale off the at&t website.......hoped this help!
