Use this 110V/120V AC Adapter to conserve batteries when downloading to your computer, for extended work in a studio, during printing, or while viewing images while connected to your TV or VCR. Compatible with all Olympus digital cameras that take 4-AA size batterie
Own an Olympus digital camera that uses four AA batteries? If so, the C-7-AU AC adapter is a helpful little device to prevent the drain on batteries you face when downloading photos to your computer, or viewing them on your television.

The C-7-AU AC Adapter is compatible with the following Olympus digital cameras: E-20N, E-10, E-100RS, C-2500L, D-620L, D-600L, D-500L, C-4040Z, C-3040Z, C-3030Z, C-3020Z, C-3000Z, C-2040Z, C-2020Z, C-2000Z, C-720UZ, C-700UZ, C-2100UZ, C-211Z, D-550Z,D-510, D-490Z, D-460Z, D-450Z, D-400Z, D-380, D-370, D-360L, D-340L/R, D-320L, D-220L.

1 Not for C-770 model
Although Amazon.com recommends this specific adaptor for the Olmpus C-770 Ultra Zoom model camera, Olympus's site seems to disagree. (...) You will see that you actually need the Digital Camera AC Adapter (D-7AC) for the C-770 model.
General advice is thus to doublecheck on the manufacturer's site before you buy.
2 Pricey, but does the job beautifully
And besides, I figured it was worth the cost as a small "insurance" that it would be compatible with the C-4000. Wouldn't want to burn out a fine camera! My only other somewhat negative comment is that the cord could be a little longer. It's only six feet, and that makes it a bit tricky to maneuver around for family shots on Christmas morning or a birthday party, etc., but an extension cord is an easy fix.
3 Great Adapter for the Olympus C series digital cameras!!
This is a high quality adapter that does exactly what it is suppose to do and that is power the Olympus C-2000 and 3000 series of digital cameras. I use it to power my camera (a C-2040Z) while I learned how to use the camera's LCD screen and many other camera features without wasting my batteries. I also use this power cord to download my photos to my PC. A card reader would be nice as you could leave it plugged into the PC and simply insert the memory card from the camera. That way you don't use the camera batteries at all. However, I bought this AC adapter to (1) take with me on trips away from my PC and my card reader would not be available. So, I might need an AC power supply, and: (2) to power the camera to display (view and review) photos on a television or monitor for long periods of time. You can save the cost of this admittedly pricey but quality adapter, by getting the card reader, or perhaps a floppy disk adapter card instead. You could then easily view your photos on your PC monitor without using the camera batteries at all. However, if I am away from my PC (and card reader), I can use the adapter to take my time reviewing my photos directly on the camera's LCD screen or via a television set on distant photo shoots. That way, I don't have to worry about draining my batteries. So, it is really a matter of personal preference. Nevetheless, this adapter does exactly what it is suppose to do and that is to power the Olympus C series of cameras. I don't know about the compatibiliy of this adapter with other cameras. If you want to use this adapter with another camera, then it would be worthwhile to first check with the Olympus Corporation to find out about the compatibility of this adpater with other cameras. Still, if you envision yourself needing to keep your OLy C series digital camera turned on for long periods of time (and you want to save batteries), then this adapter could be the answer.
4 Olympus D-40Z (& other 2 battery cameras) Beware!
This is not the adapter you want if you own the D-40Z or other 2 battery camera!!! Somewhere in the search process, this adapter is recommeded for the Olympus D-40Zoom camera (a 2 battery camera). Instead, you want the "Olympus E-7AU" AC Adapter which is a 3-volt adapter to match the camera (not this C-7AU which is 6v).
5 A Good Buy...
While this product which works well might not have been a great value at [$$$] it is at the... sale price. While there is nothing really exciting about an adapter this one works well.
6 Worth the money?
Any high school student knows that an adapter is nothing more than... well, an adapter. As long as the voltage and current matches your device, any brand should be ok.

Don't understand why it is rated 4 stars. Should value be considered when we rate products?

7 Why the C-7-AU with a D-40Z???
Amazon features this adapter as an accessory for the D-40 Zoom camera. However, it is described as an AC adapter for Olympus cameras that use four AA batteries.
This is interesting because the D-40 only uses two AA batteries. Is the wrong accessory being offerred with this camera???? I'd be extra careful.
8 Save Your Batteries and What's the Application?
This is a great battery adapter for the Olympus C3000 series digital cameras. However, depending on what your application is, you might want ot use a different product. If you are viewing/editing your pictures on a TV screen, then use this product.

If, however, you are downloading pictures into your PC, then use an external reader, such as, the Viking Intelliflash Reader. The external reader won't use up the batteries in your camera, in fact, you won't even need to tie up your camera. Just remove the memory card from the camera and insert into the external reader to upload. If you have more than one memory card, then the camera can go back into action, and you can download the other memory card whenever you have the time.

For my application, the external memeory card reader is a much better application than this AC adaptor.

9 Save your batteries
If you take a lot of pictures and download a lot. You need this item.
10 WRONG VOLTAGE
HAD TO OPEN PACKAGE TO FIND VOLTAGE
11 This doesn't work with the Minolta!!
I purchased this when the web site recommended it for use with the Minolta S304. Well, it doesn't work with the Minolta S304. If you have an Olympus get it. If you have a Minolta you will need something else.
12 Not for me.
I have lots of digicams, and I've actually only used this AC power supply a couple of times. Once I discovered the wonders of external card readers for downloading images into my PC (eg. SanDisk, Viking), I never again needed one of these. The exception would be if you want to do a lot of reviewing of your digipics on a TV/monitor; in that case you would find this an absolute necessity.
13 Save your batteries
I have an Olympus C-2100UZ and this little adapter is a must-have item for down loading photos onto your computer and viewing photos on the TV. Why waste battery life?
14 Adapter for all digital Olympus cameras that use 4 AAs
After reading the other posts, I reconfirmed that this adapter will work on all digital Olympus filmless cameras that use 4 AA batteries (including the C-3040). The URL to verify this is http://www.olympusamerica.com/accessory.asp?accessory=9 . On most of my electronic do-dads I make my own power supplies using various equipment lying around (I do electronics for a living), but when you're plunking down several hundred dollars for a good camera, it's wise to play it safe and use only what the manufacturer recommends.
15 Correct adaptor for C3030 and similar
I had to go to the Olympus web site to verify that this was the correct adaptor for my Olympus C3030, and I'd just like to share that information.
16 the proper tool 2
Like the last reviewer, I was nervous about getting the right adapter. I checked with Olympus and verified that this adapter is safe to use with the "Olympus D490 Zoom" as well. Hope this eliminates some confusion.
17 The proper tool
I was a little hesitant to purchase this AC adapter because the description did not give any of the specifications. The manual that came with our Olympus D-490 camera warns that we cannot use the Olympus 3 amp adapter, so I was hesitant to order this one without knowing more. I took a chance since this was the only one I could find on Amazon, and luckily this was the one needed. The specs, for those who need to know are as follows: Class 2 power supply with Input - AC120V 50/60Hz 0.3A and Output - DC6.5V 2A
