Olympus RM-1 Remote Control for Olympus Stylus Digital Cameras

Compras Nikon
Bluetooth
Control your digital camera remotely and put yourself in the family photo. Works with the Olympus E Series, C Series and Stylus Series Cameras. 1 Remote works great, Office Depot even better!
I lost the remote for My Olympus C2500L before I got home with it, it is not very big. Office Depot had a super price, I expected to wait until next Wednesday, but, out pushing the lawn mower today, Saturday, and the Fedex truck pulled up. WOW!
Only thing with the remote is that I wish it was just a bit more powerful, and worked across wider angles. Other than this, it is a super handy accessory for what may be the greatest small camera ever. Office Depot's Bobbie Lay packed this thing so good it was bomb proof. Thanks, Folks
2 Useful assessory
It's a useful assessory for my Olympus c-730 camera (it also works with a few others). It allows you to take vibration free pictures on a tripod as well as getting yourself into the picture. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I think it should be (and expected it to be) included with the camera! I also had another remote control for an Olympus Centurion APS SLR and was disappointed that that remote wouldn't work with the c-730. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be able to!
3 Very useful Tool
Great for group shots like family reunions. With this tool you can make sure that you are not left out. Self portraits are also possible. I don't think the remote is compatible with all Olympus equipment. Check your manual to see if it is offered as an option.
4 Great add on.
First check if your camera will work with it. If it does great!!! Get it its great for taking pictures of yourself, or time lapsed photography (puting camera in tripod and you sitting comfortably in a chair), taking pictures without people knowing he he. Also good for bird watching, aim the camera, (manual focus recomended for faster shooting) wait for the bird and picture! It's so small, don't loose it, if you tend to loose small things attach it to the camera with velcro, you wont notice its there.
5 Olympus Remote Control
RM-1 will not function. I tested the battery and it is ok.Am returning this item.
6 Dead on arrival
RM-1 does not function. Insulated guard was removed and battery checks OK., but it doesn't light or blink. Will not actuate camera to snap picture. Disappointing for a brand camera. Suspect it will be an ordeal to correct the problem or obtain a replacement.
7 Does not work for our indoor uses at work.
This is one line in the manual that the remote can be affected by fluorescent lights. For close up work with a tripod and fluorescents I can't get it to work.
8 Necessary accessory for your Olympus Digital Camera
If you own an Olympus digital camera that can utilize this remote control, but did not come standard with it you should consider buying this accessory. It works great for tripod photography and for controlling the camera while you review your pictures over your television screen with the video cable that came with your camera. The range of the remote control is quite far and it will work even if aimed indirectly at the camera sensor.
9 A boon for self-portrait & group shots!
This is the second RM-1 remote control that I have. The first one came with my C-2020Z camera and served me well. I used it to take some 2000 pics. In the interim, I also threw in lots of abuse for good measure |-) : I dropped it numerous times, stepped on it, etc.

When it finally conked out, the original battery was still going strong. Battery power consumption had not been an issue.

The remote control is great for taking self-portrait, or for group shots. It's *much* better than using the self-timer: no need to run & get into position after tripping the timer!

The only problem that I experienced was when using it outdoors, its range is somewhat limited. Once when I needed to take a pic of a group of people posing next to their cars (i.e. a pic where the camera needs to be a bit of a way away), I needed to walk up closer to the camera (on a tripod) before the remote control would work.

Quote of the Day:

Q:	How do you shoot a blue elephant?

A: With a blue-elephant gun.

Q: How do you shoot a pink elephant?
A: Twist its trunk until it turns blue, then shoot it with
a blue-elephant gun.

If you only have a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.
