The KX-TG2314W from Panasonic is a 2.4 GHz phone system with several useful extras, including a second handset and caller ID compatibility. By utilizing a 2.4 GHz signal and frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology, the KX-TG2314W is able to offer clearer reception at greater distances than traditional analog phones, while Panasonic's Voice Enhancer technology expands the frequency range of the phone's signal, resulting in cleaner, more intelligible speech.
The caller ID features a 30-number internal memory, while a 30-number phone directory allows you to store your most important numbers internally for easy recall. A display-and-dial feature also allows you to scroll through the caller ID and phone directory lists and dial a number with the touch of a button.
A handset speakerphone is provided, while headset compatibility and an included belt clip allow you to communicate on the phone while performing other daily tasks. An illuminated keypad makes dialing in poorly-lit environments a snap, and the second handset allows you to have telephone extensions in separate locations, without an additional phone jack. Additionally, a wall-mounting option lets you keep your countertop clear from any unnecessary clutter.
What's in the Box
Base, two handsets, remote charging cradle, two AC adapters, two battery packs and covers, one telephone line cord, instructions, warranty information
1 Excellent full featured cordless system
Everything about this system is excellent.
I would also like to point out that, at least for us, the relatively large form factor has turned out to be more comfortable than smaller units that we have tried.
The speaker mode is very clear and has no feedback but, as one reviewer pointed out, better use it in a quiet room. Another minor issue. The speaker phone feature does not appear to be available if the phone is in the cradle.
2 Great phone if you like static
This phone has so much static it is nearly useless. What a piece of junk. The other features of the phone are fine, but what good are they when all you get out of the receiver is a loud roar. Buy this phone only if you don't want to be able to hear the other party.
3 PANASONIC 2.4GHZ DSS CORDLESS PHONE/DUAL HANDSETS
I HAVE JUST RECEIVED THESE PHONES AND SO FAR I AM QUITE IMPRESSED WITH THIS VALUE!
WHEN I SET THE UP THE SYSTEM/PHONES I WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY USE THE PHONES FOR CALLS, WITH JUST ONE (1) BAR READING IN THE BATTERY CHARGING AREA.(PHONE SHOULD BE CHARGED FOR 6 HOURS ACCORDING TO PANASONIC.)
-THE ONLY ISSUE THUSFAR IS THAT THE HEARING/EAR PORTION OF THE HANDSET(S) ARE ROUNDED AND SMALLER THAN WHAT I AM USED TO WITH CORDLESS PHONES.
-I FOUND THIS TO BE UNCOMFORTABLE WHILE HOLDING THE PHONE TO MY EAR(S).
IF YOU HAVE VERY SMALL EARS YOU WILL BE FINE. HOWEVER, ADULTS/CHILDREN WHO HAVE 'AVERAGE' SIZED EARS - YOU MIGHT FEEL LIKE YOUR UPPER EAR IS BEING 'CUT' FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD.
-A FRIEND HAS A SIMILAR CORDLESS HANDSET AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME THING. (I CANT BELIEVE I AM WRITING ABOUT EARS!) BUT...THIS IS TRUE.
4 Great Phone Reasonable Price
This has been a great phone, the reception on all three levels of our home. We love the phone-to-phone feature; I can call the 2nd floor from the basement with out having to walk up two flights of stairs. I do have two issues with the phone. One, when I talk on the phone my jaw tends to hit the keypad and of course create beeps. Two, the keypad on one of the phone has a sticky key and I don't recall ever spilling anything on it. But we are happy with the length of the battery and the reception. We've been through many phones and this one seems to be working out great.
5 Best Cordless Phone I Have Ever Owned
I would recommend this phone to ANYONE who is looking to buy. Besides all the bells and whistles and extra features, this phone works great. The calls are clear, there are no annoying echoes. The worst we have had is some crackling when we stand next to the microwave while talking on the phone.
The speaker capabilities are great, especially when checking voicemail or typing on a computer while taking a call. The added features only make this perfect phone inexplicably better.
Go buy it, buy it now.
6 Excellent phone with nice features
If you are looking for an expandable cordless phone system,
this is not it. This phone has 2 handsets and cannot add the third.
Things I like about this phone are:
o Two handsets - You can do intercom, page one phone from another, transfer calls between phones, or conference with outside line. This is the main reason I chose this phone.
o Speaker phone on handset - A key feature that's very important to me.
o Phone book synchronization - You can copy phone book entries one by one or copy all entries at once.
o Chain dialing - So you could put your calling card in one memory entry and dial numbers form other memory entries.
o Battery indicator, line-in use indicators (on base and handset)
o Nickel Metal-Hydrate battery.
o Good sound quality
o Lighted keypad for night operation
o Ring tone with nice melodies selection
Things could improve on this phone:
o Add one button speed dialing
o Louder speaker phone volume
o Add a ringer on-off button, (now you need to go through the menu to program the ringer off)
Overall this is an excellent phone that fits my need.(I don't subscibe to call display and I didn't evaluate call display related features)
7 Better than expected.
The sound on this phone is much better than I expected. I like the idea of two handsets..which can be kept in different parts of the house. They can also be used as intercoms. The memory phone book is displayed on the screen, and phone numbers can be accessed easily. So far, I have not noticed interference from other electronic equipment. The manual is easy to use. The volume of the handset locator needs to be slightly louder, but all-in-all, I enjoy using the phone.
