The Panasonic SL-SX330 portable CD player was made for active use, incorporating Panasonic's D.sound technology with antiskip protection for high-quality, uninterrupted listening. D.sound comprises 4 key components: a digital amplifier (which helps reduce distortion and helps you to achieve crystal-clear sound--even at higher volume levels), S-XBS bass boost, and digital audio gain control help to improve bass response at higher volume levels. Since the SL-SX330 plays audio CD-R and CD-RW discs, you can enjoy listening to CDs you make at home in addition to commercial CDs.
The CD player uses 2 AA batteries (not included), which last up to 50 hours. You can also power the unit with an optional 4.5V AC/DC adapter, which lets you plug your portable CD player into an outlet.

1 You get what you pay for...
I've had many portable CD players in my life and while I've only had this Panasonic SL-SX330 model a couple months now and can't vouch for long durability, I am thus far satisfied with this product. I'd say this is in-between being a cheap and an expensive player so expect a pretty decent sound that's very clear with a good amount of bass, but nothing mind-blowing. At least the headphones are fairly comfortable, even after wearing them awhile, which is extremely important to me, and ANTI-SKIP as well as HOLD are essential features included here so A) you don't have to worry about the songs jumping around every time you move and B) so it doesn't accidently start playing if you have it in your bag. You'll also be able to wear the headphones without continuously having to push them up if you decide to work out or go running since it can clasp lightly around your ears if you want them to, but you can also rest it on your head while listening to music in an airplane, train, car, ect., and fortunately this does play CD-R and CD-RW's for those who enjoy to burn mixed compilations like I do. And in addition to all that there's long-lasting battery life too, which is quite uncommon in most portable CD players.
What I really don't understand is all these negative reviews. Like I said in my subject title, you get what you pay for - nothing more, nothing less. And if you drop ANY CD player, no matter how much you spend on it, it's more than likely going to break so don't claim this to be a horrible player simply because of your own carelessness or for expecting more than what this is worth.
2 Poorly made
I purchased two of these as Christmas gifts for my children. The plastic close clasp is the worst: it broke the first day during normal use on one player, and on the other player, it broke the first time it was dropped. Definitely not worth the money!
3 A fine product.
Having listened to this player using my Sennheiser 433 headphones, I found the volume to be perfectly ample. I am very satisfied with this product.
4 Decent. Nothing More.
Good skip-control, weak volume. At it's highest volume this is still half as loud as other cd players I have had in the past. Depends, I suppose on what you're looking for in a player as well as what kind of music you will be playing. Not bad for 40 bucks. I'd keep shopping if I were you.
