1 Great Help
Don't know where to go to next, don't have a clue what you are doing. Look for this strategy guide and you'll find all the help you need to beat these two great games. I you ever buy Pokemon blue or red, make sure you get the strategy guide, and don't end of have a nervous breakdown, because you don't know what to do next. The only way I ever had a chance at beating this game was by buying the guide to help me. It helps you through all of the rough a tough spots in the game. A must have, ( only if you own 1 of these games).

Pokemon Return of the Squirtle Squad
Would you like to be saved by the Squirtle Squad? In this book the squad saves all the Pokemon from Team Rocket. I love this book because Ash thinks Squirtle is the best pet.

3 Cool but needs improvement
They called Moltres "Moltos" but only once because they spelled it the right way in the back of the book. The maps and quick and dirty path were very helpful. The one thing I would like to see is trainer tables. That way, you know which trainers are which and what Pokemon they use. In Prima's Gold/Silver guide, this feature was included. In this game, the pokemon that the trainers use is a total mystery. The makers of the book should have thought about the trainer table idea when they wrote it.

5 This book rocks!
Hey, I'm a girl. Yes that's right. And no, I'm not a tomboy. Usually only boys or tomboys play with Pokemon, but not me. I lurve it! I bought it and it really helped me! The maps and Pokemon info were amazing! To that guy who said his friend helped him through the whole game: and where did your friend figure out all the info? I'll bet he got it from this book. This book is awesome. A must have for any Pokemon Game Boy fan!! :-)
6 This is a great book that every Pokemon fan should have
Prima's guides are the only guide books I ever buy and this is One of the best. Featuring a full Pokedex at the end detailing when each pokemon evolves and what moves they learn and when.
Even if you have already completed the game you should have a copy of this to keep as a reference if nothing else.
7 This definately helped me!
After getting stuck in my Blue game I was wondering when a Playguide for Blue/Red was gonna be released. Well here it is! And it's a great guide! It's got everything you can think of, including maps, stats on your fave PokŽmon and info on all the TMs & HMs. What more could you ask for? I give this 5 out of 5. It gets it straight away!

Hi, that book isn't all that great. It sucks really. I bought it and it sucks! All i'd have to do was listen to my friend! I learned faster than from that book. But then again, I only have 8 pokemon cards.

This book is definitely worth the money. It helps you with about everything you come up against in the game. Just like all Prima Strategy guides,it is a must-have if you plan on beating the game.

15 EXTREMLY great book!
The maps were great! It helped me a bunch, especially with Rock Tunnel and Victory Road. Although I have noticed some flaws in the book such as calling the legendary birds Articuno and Moltres as Articuro And Moltos, labeling the power plant's as Victory Road (although they were seperated by a couple of pages), and on the maps the pokemart was labeled SHOP instead of MART. Still the listings for every pokemon with a picture, the type(s), where you can find each in which version, what it learns when, and what TM's and HM's it is compatable with are very,very,very helpful. If you are a pokemon master in training I suggest you get this book.

This book is the best Pokemon guide I've read. It's better than the "Pokemon Trainer's Survival Guide."
"Pokemon: Prima's Official Strategy Guide" will make it easier and more fun to play either the blue or red version. The easy-to-read maps help you find your way through Pokemon Island.
The book has a section called "All the Skills You Ever Need to Know" that tells you the best attacks as well as which attacks your Pokemon should forget. Another section called "Items Galore" tells you which objects to toss and which ones to keep. There's also a very handy Pokemon Check-List.
This guide will help you catch 'em all.
17 Bad Handbook
Not as good as the official Nintendo book and has a number of inaccuracies (definite minus points for a gaming book). Sorry.

This book was great. It really helped me out a lot. The pictures were great and the tips were even better. Overall, this book was a must buy for me to beat the game.
19 I LOVE this book so much that mine has fallen apart.
This is an exellent book and i reccomend it to any wanna-be Poke'mon trainer. It only has one flaw and it is in the unknown dungen, they kinda messed up on the maze. I've used mine so much that it's fallen apart and I had to punch holes in the pages and put it in a three ring binder.
20 This book was great!
I really liked this book. It told me all about the TM's and what they do. There were some small mistakes though. For instance,they said Beedrill learns a move called High Speed. What is High Speed? Do they mean Agility? All in all this book is alright. I like how they tell you at what level each pokemon learns their attacks.

I loved it so much. I could not find Moltres but with this book it helped me so much. It has all the pictures, there pokedex info, level of evolution and they tell you what level the pok?mon learn their moves. I really loved it.
22 Well this book is alright
This book gave me a kind of detailed look at the Game but the thing is that the book is on both vesions mostly red since both games have many simularitys u can really make some major mistakes. but this book is the most detailed guide i have seen but it is kind of confusing! so I give it 3 *** stars

26 A very good stategy book
This is a very good book. I find the maps very helpful(I get lost a lot). The ladders are numbered to show which ladder takes you where. The book also has a cool couple of pages with pok?mon bios including eight, weight, description, where found in both versions and at what levels the learn certain moves and which TMs and HMs they can learn. The only problem is that the pages fall out easily.

28 A VERY, VERY GOOD BOOK. IT HELPED ME BEAT THE GAME
The moment I borrowed this book from my friend , I found it to be the best guide that I have ever read. The information was very accurate and the maps were beautiful. Not to mention the awesome colour. There were some errors however. I states that you can find a Pokemon called Lucky in the Unknown Dungeon, but they really ment Chansey. Also the Unknown Dungeon map is completely wrong. There are also many spelling errors and the pages fall apart very easily. I think that they should have spent some more time spell checking the book and doing one complete run through to check for accuracy and errors before it was put out in the stores. Over all I thought I thought that it was a great piece of advice and that I couldn't have gotten along without it. Their Pokedex was amazing with all the information that you'd ever need to become a Pokemon Master. It was very creative and not to mention very organized. My sincere thanks to all those great people who put this amazing book together.I strongly recommend anyone who has the game to either purchase or borrow this fine book. 29 Very dissapointing
I like the book, but i wish it had the red and blue versions in different books. I only have the blue version and it gets confusing. It also has numbers on the maps(ex. 1,2,etc..) but it doesn't tell you what they are. This is why i gave it 2 stars. There an official book by Nintendo that is much better.
30 Chock full of mistakes!
Sure the maps and advice were pretty okay, but once you get to the names of the pokemon and the vital information, you really can't trust it. If you are looking for a book that has codes or deeply detailed information that is beyond the basics, this really isn't it. This book is for people who bought the game (and were born) yesterday.

This book beats all the rest by far. The Information in this book is almost priceless. This book woulld have to be the most extrordanry thing around since the Pok?mon gameboy game came out. It has all the info u need on which level it evolves and what moves it gets etc. It contains a pic of each Pok?mon which is pretty cool as it helps u to remeber who they r. There is also info about where to find all the secret stuff with the item finder which is cool when u hardly have anything.

34 This book helps a lot even if their are a few errors
This is a very useful players guide, however some of the maps a mixed up. Like the map of the S.S.Ann. The map of the rooms in the upper deck is the same as the main deck rooms. Please note that is just the rooms not the hallway! Use the map of the S.S.Ann for the main deck, the lower deck, the bow, the captain's room, and the mess hall of the S.S.Ann, and be prepared to explore the upper deck!
35 The Ultimate Strategy Guide...
This book is completely awesome. Someone who had one looked like he'd had it for six months and it never broke. Awesome Pok?dex info. I like the way it tells you everything about every TM and HM. I also like the part about what there is to do and find in each city! AWESOME!
36 Not the best book out there
The Prima book looks thrown together. Some of the other books I've compared it to, such as the Sybex and Sandwich Island strat guides, are much better. Just becasue it's official doesn't mean it's editorially superior!

It's a good book with all the Pokemon info you could ask for! I really feel sorry for the person that DESTROYED theirs in 3 days and the other one that didn't even know that Chansey in Japanese means Lucky!Duh!I hope no one else writes in with the so-called typo.

This book is great! It has detailed maps, Which pokemon are where and All of the Pokemon in the back of the book. If you are looking for a Pokemon Guide this is the one to have.

I read the book AFTER completing both red and blue and I ask.. What is the point in buying a game only to follow a guide? Pokemon is not too hard to work out just be more curious, don't give up or you won't become a true pokemon master - PKW_Pikachu

It has almost everything. It has all of the pokemon info from Abra to Zubat but, some of the data could be there, like the item finder tips is not there, and the pages easily fall out. wich is a major bummer, and other stuff. It is a pritty good players guide.

Overall: Very helpful and good book, but you have to be wary for errors.

I really am not surprised. This is just a rerelease of the original prima guide, and is a VERY stupid release. All it is is just a remak of the cover, and some glitch and misprint fixes.

This book is the greatest. When I first got the book I had about 7 Pokemon and I didn't know my way around. After about 3 or 4 days with the book I was almost the greatest Pokemon Master in the world!

I started off at Mt.moon with anly 16 pokeon. Now I am at the Seafoam Islands with 56 pokemon. A great walk through and info. source.

This book has it all! But you need to watch for mistakes. I would highly recamend it if you are stuck in the middle of the game. OVERALL: a great pokemon trainers guide!

I bought this when I had about 100 Pokemon, and by that night, I had gotten almost 30 more! It has lots of great maps and tips, and is also quite humorous. You can tell the writers were really into it. A great gift for a Pokemaniac!

I'd cosider this a players guild u should buy when all the other copies are out.Its more of a walkthrough then a review and i wouldnt recommend buying it if u beat the game and if your working on leveling up pokemon for there moves(because u need a better line up) because there were alot of typos in that section. It's great, but there a lot of mess-ups. 1.There are no Poke'mon on Route 10 2. Koga comes before Sabrina 3. Poke'mon House stats are on 2 pages.

73 Really only the bare bones of the gameplay
This guide was okay, but not very helpful. My friend bought it, so I read it carefully since I didn't have a guide for myself. It is a walkthrough, but not much else. The Nintendo guide gives much deeper descriptions plus the fact the the Nintendo guide gives a full quarter page soze up of each pokemon, showing their attacks, evolution, and statistics. Apparently, Prima didn't want anyone to know anything other than how to beat the game when they made this guide. And that is something almost anybody could do without a guide!

It really helped me out when I needed it. It gave a description for each pokemon and what moves they get at a certain level was excellent. It's very colorful too. It helped me collect all 150 pokemon. It also told me how to defeat other pokemon trainers which was great!!!!

I thought the book was a good book for ten bucks but there weren't enough maps and the book was very thin compared to Nintendo's own player's guide. The pictures are very nice as well as information about the Pokemon in the game. It still isn't a bad book because there is enough information to beat the game.

This stradagy guide gives maps in full color and highly detailed. The list of TM's help a lot. The Pokedex tells what TM's that Pokemon can learn, where it is found, and what moves it can learn at specific levels! From what I found out, I think it is an spectaculare book.

It was very helpfull to fingd tm and the secret key now that was a very big help if I were you I would buy this players guide emiddiently it was helpfull to find out what tm you can teach to one of your pokemon and the hm that you can teach to your pokemon.

92 Pok?phat
This isn't really about Pok?mon, but it is much, much cooler! I just heard about a game called Tales of Sphyros by a company called Phat-Head Entertainment, and I was completely shocked at how great it was! My Game Boy broke, so I had no choice, but now I am thinking about Phat-Head games in all of my free time (and during study hall). I hear that they are working on three new games; two RPG's (and I love 'em), and a police racing action game. They sound great, and I cannot wait until they come out!

This guide has everything you'll need. Detailed maps, a complete listing of moves and pokemon, and great tips on gameplay. The listings show when pokemon evolve, when they learn moves, and other good information. Move listings show power, accuracy, and PP. This is the best guide I could find, and I feel that you should get it!
