well after reading this book i can tell you that it has very helpful maps and many mistakes.. other than that it is great and i deeply would recommend this book to anyone
3 Ive seen beter
The maps are helpfull but you will find mistakes like on Sabrinas pokemon it says betobeton.Also if you look at Nidoran (f) you find it eveolves into Nidoking.you will find many mystakes.
4 I do not like this book
Hello people, I did not like this book becuase I found it very very boring, bought one in the U.S, (I live in Hong Kong.) I found it quite intresting at first but then my friend gave me the same thing! So I tried to sell it but in the end I had to stay with it and now I hardly even read it!

On the Jigglypuff page in this guide, under where it says evolution, there is something wrong with the Wigglytuff part. It says Wigglypuff instead of Wigglytuff.

That book isnt even liscenced or official. I mean look at the horrible cover. What the heck is that? A deformed Charizard and Paras? Plus all of the information in it you can find at really good pokŽmon websites today.

There is no information in this book. It merely spews out the stats for all the pokemon. How many places is this information available for free?

10 BEST POKEMON BOOK EVER!!!
This book is the coolest! A few problems here and there, but then, what does that have anything to do with it? Like, for instance, some of the text is in japenese! Not japenese text, just words like Barrado and suppidossuta! Next, I would have liked to know a little bit more about the badges, and in the PokeDex? That was incredable except for 3 tiny flaws: (1) Voltorb is spelled Voltrob. (2) Mew is spelled Myu. (3) They left Omastar out, with the picture box saying (CAMERA SHY). But that is about it! This guide helped me so much, liked help me find a wild Poliwhirl, and what the top 3 picks for pokemon types are, and did you know that in the RED version only you can find wild EEVEE's in the POWER PLANT? This guide has it all! Even info on all the different versions! A must-have-if-you-don't-have-it-you-should-get-it guide†!!!

I think the book is awesome. The only problem with the book is the grammar. And for those people who don't know what the pokemon in the front cover is, it is the evolved form of charizard, from the gold and silver version.

I don't have this one yet, but I've paged through it at the bookstore and it rocks! And as for the Pokemon on the cover, those are new Gold and Silver version Pokemon. Where have you people that critisize the cover BEEN!?

15 Greatest Pokemon Strategy Guide!
Simply the best Pokemon strategy guide out there! I looked at all of the different Pokemon strategy guides and this is by far the best overall! Although it has some drawbacks such as a little bit of poor grammer here and there, a poor cover, and not being an "official" Pokemon strategy guide, it's definitely the best. I would recommend it to everyone! A+
16 Awesome book
This book is awesome!!! I especially like the attack chart and not the regular "how good your pokemon will do in battle" chart. The 3D pics are awesome. The only small problems I saw were that it said pokemon stadium doesn't work with american carts. It hasn't been released in the U.S.A. yet and that's why. It also says Mew isn't on American carts and it is. I read one of the customer reviews and it said that the player's guide said that Staryu evolves at lv 32 and it doesn't, it says with the water stone. 1 more problem! Some of it is in Japanese!!! And I don't know what a Rakki is so I didn't know what I'd find in the Safari Zone. :) Also, I loved how they put in the 3D pics and what TMs and HMs they can learn, what percent you find them, and what level they're at. But, how can an Omastar be camera shy?!

19 GREAT book!!! Good Job!!
Wow, Mark MacDonald has done one of the best Pokemon guides out there. As a parent of 2 children and an avid videogamer myself, I was quite amazed at the sheer amount of information within this book. I have read some of the other ones such as from Prima or Nintendo, but they seemed to be just straight facts that do not interest the reader/gamer... My kids abousutely loved this book and I look forward to further work by Mr. McDonald in gaming publications.
20 Everything you need, and an alphabetized Pokemon list.
It can be a pain to find certain pokemon in other guides because they sort them by their ID #, and not alphabetically. If you want a pokemon index that you can easily search through alphabetically, this book is for you.
21 Great book, don't let these kids fool you.
I'm amazed at the number of kids complaining about spelling errors and yet they can't even formulate a proper sentence. This book is great, and if you think there are errors, it just shows that you don't know much about Pokemon. A lot of the info, as stated in the book if you can read, is Japanese based. That means that some names are in Japanese instead of their US counterparts. Also the picture on the cover accurately depicts a trainer who looks like one of the trainers in the anime. Mark MacDonald did a great job on a very helpful book. Everyone should give it a look and before you criticize, educate yourself on Pokemon more.
22 who the heck drew the cover?
Who the heck drew the cover? That doesn't look like a pokemon trainer or that a pokemon! That is sooo weird! Anyways this book isnt good. I bought another book and it was perfect! It told me EVERYTHING! But on this one it doesnt give you correct info.
23 Not bad, but not great
My friend Brad brought this to school. I thought that the walkthrough was pretty good and it was cool that it showed the frequency rate of the wild Pok?mon. But I wish it were translated a little more, they'd watch out with the spelling errors, showed some Pok?dex data, and other stuff. But it was cool they had information on Myuu and Pok?mon Stadium
24 this book didn't have a lot of true facts
I really didn't like this book because it gave me bad advice about have some pokemon envolve!
like ( example ) to envolve staryu it says you have to get it to level "32" but when I did that it didn't envolve so I then looked in to a book about poe`mon that was made by the creators and it said to use a "water stone" so I did a my staryu envolved!!!
So thats my main reason why "I didn't like this book" beacause it miss leads you to do things that aren't trueand that can mess you up in the gameboy game "POKE`MON"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
25 Great, but a couple of messups
It has alot of great info,but there is mistakes. 1. It doesn't have Pokedex data. 2. At the end, your Rival has a Pokemon called Pigeot. 3. No map for the U.S. version of Pokemon in the Unknown Dungeon.

28 Such Great book but they had a bad editor
What a great book! They have many mispelled words, though. It teaches you where to get all the pok?mon. It has great pics and I bring it to school everyday and my friends want it really bad!

I first got this book for the price but it really is not that bad even though it was not edited good (many misspelled words) it explains alot of things from the Japanese version. Also has alot of info on Pokemon Stadium.

If you look on page 2 of this book it says that the artist drew that picture as a trainer might see it entering a battle. This book is awesome. Buy it.

This book has very good maps and it has listings of all the pokemon and their stats. That part of the book is really good. However, the guide itself does not help that much. It is very vague about how to beat certain places, and offers almost no help with the safari zone. I have not seen another guide so I can't compare this one. Look at all the guides before you buy it.

This is a good book, but it's bio section is messed up. On alot of the bios, the picture doesn't match the words or the words don't match the pokemon, but this book has lots of good information.
