1 3rd time is the charm
First I would like to say that I got a really good deal (about $260 cheaper than what Amazon is selling it for...yes it was brand new and legal) on this TV, which is why I put up with a product that has given me so much trouble. The First TV worked and looked great for about 3 weeks then it started buzzing when it was turned off, then after about a week of this it would just shut off for no reason for about 5 mins and then turn itself back on. So I took it back to the store where I purchased it and they exchanged it for a new one. Well when I got home I noticed that the plastic on the bottom of the New TV was broken, so I boxed it back up and again took it to the store and exchanged it again. Now you have to remember the customer service was really great at this store, which is why I did exchange it one more time with the guarantee that if this TV was bad that they would match my purchase price for a similar TV any brand. Well I am glad I did. The third TV works great no buzzing after 2 months of use; it has a very good picture especially for you DVD enthusiasts (it really is clearer than my 32 in. Toshiba and my Brother says it is clearer that his 36in. Wega Sony he just got for 2g's... DVD wise anyway) the one gripe I have is that I am not able to set up a favorite channel search or something similar. My Toshiba has this feature and I can quick scan 20 of my favorite channels quickly without having to go through all the other crap or watching the TV guide channel to see what's on, it really is a nice feature. Bottom Line, if you get one that works for the price it is hard to beat, otherwise it is a hassle and to be honest I will probably never buy an RCA product again.
2 I've had this for a year
It's a damn fine product. Don't beleive the other reviews; no buzzing, no malfunctions from the box. They had defective products, I guess.
3 Bad Bad Choice.
Well... I've always thought RCA was a good brand but after the reviews here and my personal experience i will have to think otherwise. Yes i bet the picture is great and the sound is awesome but the tv i got didn't even work right out of the box. What i'm mad about is that after i had to go buy it haul it home, out of the car and up the stairs to find out it doesn't even want to turn on? I'm very frustrated. It's true what they say about their website and customer service being worthless, they ask stupid questions and don't solve anything. I hope this review serves someone to make a smarter choice than the one i did.
4 Great Flatscreen TV
I've had this tv for over 3 months and I am very happy with it. The picture is unbeatable. The colors are bright and the contrast is unbelievable. The sound is also very good, especially on Enhanced mode, which works as a mock surround sound system if you don't have a real one. There is also an Auto Volume level option which will stop commercials from being too loud. This Tv features some other cool extras too. There are four color presets; Natural, bright, soft, and personal. There is a also an Autocolor option which will make skintones more accurate and so on. The v-chip and child block sytems are also cool, even though I don't personally use them. You can also label all of your channels, I've read some reviews for other Tv's that have people complaining that they can only label a limited number of channels. This tv also has tons of jacks to plug things into, which is very useful. I don't see what everyones problem is with the TV when it's off. If you go within a few feet of it you can tell there is a slight crackling noise, but you barely notice it unless you really listen for it. If it bugs you, unplug it. The Tv overall is very good, and better than some of the brand name models I've seen. It's even comparable to some Sony's I've seen, if not better in some ways. For the price, you definately cannot beat it. The only small gripes I have with this Tv is that the screen is very slightly tilted, it is barely noticable though. i've also seen thios problem on other flatscreens so it isn't abnormal for this to happen. I'm very happy with this Tv and plan on enjoying it for years to come.
5 Agh! Two one-stars?
I've had this TV for a year now - great TV, very affordable, superb picture. Got this baby hooked up with some Monster 3 Component Vid cables...DVD quality is amazing. No buzz; the reviewr that mentioned this must must have a defect in that particualar model. No loss of picture.

Good product. Seriously. Don't beleive the other two reviewers.

6 Beware of the buzzing noise!
The picture is excellent and that is about all that is good about this TV. It has an annoying loud buzzing noise whether it's turned on or off, that I can actually hear in the next room. I've checked online and other people have had the same problem.

I agree with the other reviewer that RCA support is a pretty bad. They said that the loud buzzing noise is normal. I told them that this is the only TV in the world that you can hear in the next room even when it's turned off.

7 RCA Televisions - Worst consumer buy you can make
We purchased an RCA 27" TruFlat as the holidays came around, planning it as the replacement for our old TV. We bought it looking at other flat screen tv's based on our perception of the RCA brand....bad bad decision. I'm convinced now that the off-brand television that looked like a refugee from the 70's would have been a better buy - at least it would've lasted a couple days and been something you could get help with from human being on the telephone.

Our TruFlat's picture internals died two weeks after purchase due to a manufacturing defect, and has been waiting at a service center for about a month waiting for a part that RCA can't offer our warranty center a delivery date for.

For an added incentive on why you shouldn't buy RCA, go to their web page and just see if you can find a customer service phone number. Wanna guess how quickly you get support through e-mail.

While their warranty looks outstanding on paper, you have to question how well a company supports their warranty - especially when fix parts have no delivery date...and to date, I have yet to get anyone at the company to take any interest in ours.

With no support avenue for this tv, insane service wait times, bad parts availability, you'd do better to spend your money on *any* other brand than RCA.
