RCA RP3753 CD Clock Radio with Dual Alarm

Compras Nikon
Bluetooth
The RCA RP3753 alarm clock is a full-function CD clock radio. Choose to wake to your favorite CD, radio station, or the familiar buzzer. The top-loading CD player is CD-R compatible so you can make your own early-morning music.

The RP3753 features the Graduwake ramp-up alarm that will gently wake you by slowly increasing the volume of buzzer or music. Additional options include a nap function for late-afternoon dozing, and programmable snooze and sleep functions.

A green, 0.9-inch LCD with Hi/Lo brightness control shows you the time and CD information. Battery backup keeps your alarm set even through power outages.

1 Good Radio/Alarm, with some defects
My Mom and Dad bought this radio for their bedroom.
When we first got it, it worked great!
But, sometimes, the CD Player won't even play, or will play some tracks, and not others. (The CD Player will only work when it wants to.)
The Tuner tunes in fine in Stereo Sound.
I like it, but I'm thinking of returning it!
2 IF,YOU WERE GOING TO BUY IT, YOU CAN'T ANYMORE!!!
YOU SHOULDEN'T BUY IT. IT BROKE AFTER ABOUT TWO MONTHS. SOMETIMES, THE DISPLAY WOULD SAY "ERRR" INSTED OF "CD TR" DON'T BUY IT!!!
3 Wake up to disappointment
Do not buy this if you are planning to wake up to CDs or play CDs in your bedroom. It must be made with cheap optics because every CD plays as if it is scratched. All other functions work fine, but for the price, it should play flawlessly. Also, it is difficult to tune stations with the analog tuner. Your money is better spent on another product.
4 analog dial says it all -- NOT user-friendly
The analog dial prevents you from entering several radio station
frequencies into (the non-existent) memory. Consequently, should
you or your bedroom consort awaken to a radio-alarm (buzzer off),
you are at the MERCY of both the radio station selected before
you went to sleep and also the DJ who happens to be on the air at
the moment when you return to earth with the DJ's music selection
(who wants to arise to sounds of a commercial or depressing song
or a sad news announcement?).
What you need/want is a DIGITAL dial (not analog), so as to have
the ability to
-- pinpoint tune into a particular frequency
-- enter a series of favorite (or less offensive) radio stations
into the radio's memory
---switch stations from a currently nasty/irritating broadcast to
another preset memory selection (which you cannot do w/ analog!).
N.B.: Admittedly, yes, you COULD settle for a clock-radio with an
analog tuning dial (and consequently zero memory for stations); I
have had to co-exist with those fossils when I sleep over at some
host's home. The "Plan B" (when the alarm kicks in with a station
playing unwelcome music) is to switch to the CD function manually
(which does require you to wake up fast enough to go from radio
to CD). The CD feature lets you rely on your reliable taste in a
music selection which you popped into the CD player beforehand, &
it ALSO lets you tune into music which thousands or millions of
radio listeners are not simultaneously listening. In this way you
avoid TUNING INTO THE HERD MENTALITY upon awakening. There exists
such an inVISIBLE effect when one aligns oneself with what others
are doing at the same time (both good and also bad). Get digital.
5 An Annoying Way to Wake Up
I've had this clock for about a year, and wonder why I haven't thrown it into a wall yet - or better yet, into the trash. Initially it worked as it was supposed to. Then, after a few months, it decided it would only play a certain few of my CDs. I thought I could live with that. Wrong. Now it plays the first track on the CD as it's supposed to, but after that, only whirrs and grinds futilely as it tries in vain to find a next random track to play. But it is NOT set on Random Play. It should simply play the next track on the CD, not seek a random track. If you want to be awakened by constant annoying, electronic buzzing and grinding, then this is the clock for you. Too bad the Amazon review system requires that I give this at least one star. I'd rather give it none. I think I'll go toss mine in the trash right now.
6 Not Bad For The Money, But...
I bought this two and 1/2 years ago to tide me over while I decided on a new CD stereo unit. It functioned very well as an alarm and as a radio, but from the beginning I had trouble with the CD player - at first, it would sort of stick, so some CD's would have to be manually loaded three or four times before it would play (so forget waking up to a CD). Now I am shopping for a new clock radio because over the past 2 1/2 years it has stopped playing CDs at all, the radio only works if it's in just the right spot, and the alarms are no longer dependable. This happened gradually, over time, not all at once. Not a bad unit for the cheap price - realistically, you could replace it every couple years - but I'm now shopping for something I can depend on a little longer - I'll probably go with the new Sony CD clock radio, also available here at Target online.
7 No complaints
This is a great little CD player. I don't use it for the alarm--I bought it to listen to at work. I've had it for a year, listen to the radio all day, sometimes the CD, and so far it's held up very well. It doesn't take up much space, and the sound quality is good for the price. I like how the power button and volume control are readily accessible on the front. It gets wonderful reception at my office where other radios do not. I am pleased with my purchase.
8 flawed CD "random" feature
Overall this product is alright. The tuner is analog but ok. There's no apparent connection for an external antenna which means you have to move the clock to somwhere with acceptable reception (probably not where you wanted it). The dual alarms work nicely and the snooze time can be set independently for each -- good features. The display should have used lighted icons instead of dots, because in the dark, you can't tell if your alarm settings are correct by looking at dots, so you have to memorize the switch positions and set them by feel. The "gradual wake up" alarm is not helpful to me because it starts quite loud from the start so I just slam the snooze immediately by reflex. The biggest failure is the fact that their so-called "random" setting for CD play always begins with the track you have to specify as the starting track, and is only random *after* that. Useless! If you want to wake up to a "random" song in the morning, the best you can do is something like: burn your own copy of a CD, making track 1 a very brief blank track to get it to skip over it quickly. It would have been much better if they had the player continue from the Next track (since it last played) instead of always restarting on the same one... every morning, day after day.
9 Looks good and sounds good, when it works
I recently bought this alarm clock liking the features but the negatives quickly overpowered the positives. First off the cd playing function was not great. I would wake up to it trying to load the disk rather then play it. And the wake to a certain track just never worked. However the one thing that I despised was when I'd hit snooze it would flash the track
10 good value
We went looking for a new clock radio when the one we had for about 15 years died. We looked at everything they had at Target, read the reviews and decided to try the RCA because we wanted one with a CD. We're really pleased. All components work well, no problems with the CD (as some have reported). Adjustable snooze is great. My only gripe is that the numbers are very bright, even with the dimmer on, it's so bright that we turn it so that it's not shining right in our faces! All in all, a very good buy for the price.
11 The CD function doesn't work
This is an excellent clock radio with great sound and plenty of buttons to fool with.

We've never been able to get the CD function to work.

The buttons are so complex, you can't figure how to set it to wake up.

Setting the time is ALSO next to impossible, but when you get it, it works great.

12 Not worth diminishing the RCA name
We have owned two of these clock radios. The first one broke within 30 days of owning it (CD just stopped working). We got a replacement, and that one broke within a few months. ... I would strongly warn you against the purchase of this unit. While the clock features all work well, the CD end of the unit is just horrible.
13 I love this alarm clock
I bought this item because I wanted to wake up to music instead of an evil buzzing sound like my previous alarm clock.
This not only allows you to wake up to the radio, you can also wake to a CD. And you can choose the CD track that you want to hear. I was also pleased with the programmable snooze feature: anytime between 1 minute and 1/2 an hour.
14 Good experiences despite mixed reviews
I read the mixed reviews for this product and decided to try this CD/clock radio. We've used it for almost a year and have not had any issues with it (waking up daily to CDs and CDRs--we hate buzzer alarms). Operational noise from the CD mechanism rates average in loudness; sound quality is about what one would expect from an inexpensive clock radio; reads CDs, CDRs (not CD-RW). We've certainly received more than our money's worth from this silvery little noisemaker.
15 save your money
This CD clock radio is well set up with easy to use buttons and controls. It's too bad it is so poorly built. The CD alarm feature stopped working in less than a month. The CD player is very noisy and makes scraping noises. The unit is well designed but is very disappointing from a quality standpoint. It makes me wonder about all RCA products now. It certainly makes me wonder why RCA would put such a poor quality product on the market. Apparently, they have little concern for quality. Don't let the nice appearance of the product fool you. It is not worth your hard earned money.
16 great clock radio but bad CD player
this thing had all the features I was looking for, but after using the cd player I noticed that a significant portion of my CDs would start scraping against the plastic sides due to poor design. while it didn't damage the CDs, it was quite irritating to hear that scraping noise. the sound isn't very good either, but that's to be expected of clock radio cd players.
17 You get what you pay for in a space saver-perspective needed
I read all of the reviews and there is some basis for complaint. I did not expect this thing to play as well as a more expensive model. There are a few functions like the wake to a CD that may not be that good but I wake to the alarm and the radio. The CD is not meant to be the main player for a person. I think they intended it to be just something you listen to for a couple hours a day at the most. I knew this would not have amazing sound quality but it is among the best for its price. If you are looking for a decent, space-saving, dual alarm clock with a CD/radio, this is a nice option. If you want a more sophisticated model, add a little more to the price and add onto the size a bit. For me, I needed a compact model that played a CD. This is just fine for what I wanted.
18 I've enjoyed it!
Don't know what all the complaining is about. I've had mine about a year and have never had a problem with it. Maybe I'm just lucky-but it's still fully functional, including the cd player.
19 Where is the NAP function? Did you find it?
I'm a bit lost with this clock. I bought it for the NAP feature as I loved the one on my previous clock. Low and behold, the manual does not even mention the feature, let alone how to set it. The box has the NAP function shown on the front, the RCA website shows the NAP function in the specs sheet, but the online manual is missing those instructions. I have been waiting over two weeks for a response from RCA.com. This weekend, it's back to the store with this one.
20 Seems like they all stink
I was looking to replace this cd/clock radio, for the same reasons listed in many of these reviews...the cd player slowly became disfunctional. Mine has lasted about a year. Looking over the other choices, I cant say the reviews are much better. so in the end I say...it has quite good features, easy to read display & dual alarm, however dont expect the cd player to last. This year im going to try Phillips....RCA - get your act in gear - you have a nice design - add another buck to the cost and make it quality!
21 PLEASE don't waste your hard earned money!
OK, you're probably thinking "Well, here's someone who got one bad one and now he thinks they're all bad.". Not so! Before buying this item a year ago I scoured Amazon.com for reviews and for the most part they all had the same problem - a warning of a soon-to-be non-functioning CD player. It's true! I have only used it perhaps 6 times and now it refuses to play any and all CDs. I ignored all those reviews and now I've paid the (high) price. Don't waste your money. It's back to my old Panasonic dual alarm clock radio for me. Please trust me. I should have believed all the reviews!
22 Great Design Poor Quality
I like this product features and design. It is filled with great features like dual alarm, graduated alarm, the ability to wake up with it playing a CD, dual brightness settings for the time. When I first got it, I rated it 5 stars. The problem is that if get this product don't expect it to be fully functional for very long. The first thing that will break will be the CD player and then you will gradually lose all functionality. If you want an alarm clock that will last for several years, do not by this product.
23 Be careful, all the kids will want one!
Bought one for my German Exchange Student's bedroom, online today buying one for my Finnish Student's bedroom and my daughter's bedroom!!! Probably should pick up one for the kitchen too!!!
24 Well worth the money
All in all this is a very good clock. It's easy to read even if I don't have my glasses on. The cd player mechanism is pretty quite compared to others I have tried and the radio works well. My only problem with it is the buzzer alarm does indeed ramp up, but it ramps from loud to louder. It's certainly effective at waking me up tho and I like the ability to be change the snooze time.
25 Great Design, Poor Quality
I used the CD wake up for less than a week and it stopped working. It wouldn't even play a CD by just pressing the play button. I returned it and will not purchase this brand of CD clock radio again, even though I REALLY liked everything else about this clock.
26 A ZEN alarm clock!
I bought this as a gift to myself. I was not sure I was going to keep it because I felt guilty about the price. But now I would not give it up. The kind way this alarm wakes me up...words cannot not describe how thankful I feel for this alarmclock. It is well designed, has dual alarms and is very easy to use. My favorite feature though is the gentle zen-like awakening. The alarm begins as a whisper and slowly increases its decible. I find myself waking up to it when it is just barely beeping. I am planning to give this as a gift throughout the coming year.
27 Spacesaver, Loud, & loaded with features for an Alarm Clock
This little CD, Radio, Clock with an Alarm is just the perfect size for the bedside table. My 10 year old daughter got hers first and now my 12 year old wants one! The design is eye catching and doesn't look like a typical Clock Radio. Pre-Teens love it.

If you can purchase the item you're definitely getting a great little alarm clock with lots of added features. The sound is excellent and you can fall asleep listening to your favorite CD!

28 Many features....but cheap electronics.....
You don't need to wait for your CD to wake you up, the mechanical drive of the CD will get you out of bed before the
the music even starts. Way to loud CD mechanism.

The most annoying thing is it makes buzzing noises whan the CD of radio is on with the volume turned down. It has a really bad amp obviously.

I took the first one back and got another one to make sure it was just not this one that buzzed, and the new one not only buzzed, but it would not read my burned CD's.

On the plus side, it is one of the few CD Stereo clock radio's that has a dimmer switch on the LED's, so you won't be making hand puppets on the wall from the display.
